    Almost perfect...
    This review is for the full sized Huntsman v2 with the red, optical linear switches. The keyboard is particularly solidly built and feels very high quality. The key action is really smooth and, in the case of the red switches, very quiet. The internal sound damping works well and there are no odd noises or pinging from any of the keys. It comes with a thick, comfortable wrist rest. It’s also highly customisable but has one drawback which is not clear from the user manual or Razer website and stops me giving it 5 stars.

    It uses the Razer Synapse software to programme the keys and change the lighting. The software is functional but not the best I’ve tried. Although it has programmable on-board memory slots which don’t need the Synapse software to be running in the background, these can only be used for storing macros and NOT for the lighting settings. If you customise the lighting (which has an almost infinite number of possibilities), you must keep the Synapse software running or the keyboard reverts to a slowly cycling, fixed brightness colour scheme which it’s not possible to change. This has been confirmed by Razer as a deliberate decision and is not just a problem with the keyboard. On my system, the Razer software uses about 310 MB of RAM and only a tiny amount of CPU time – 0% most of the time, occasionally increasing to 0.1% so really not intrusive.

    That said, this is still an excellent keyboard for both gaming and general use (the best I’ve tried so far) and I would highly recommend it as long as you’re happy with having to run the Synapse software.

    Amazing item
    My husband was thrilled to receive this. It was easy to setup and works brilliantly. He found the jets very sensitive but you are able to adjust the sensitivity of the keys so he it now personalised to the pressure he likes. Beautiful colours. My favourite feature is that, unlike his old mechanical keyboard, this one is soft key so very quiet. Means I can finally share our lounge and watch TV again without relentless tip tapping!

    The only thing to watch out for is delivery drivers. I was surprised that this item, priced over 200, didn’t come with special delivery instructions. Instead I would have had no idea it had been delivered if I didn’t have Ring. I was in the house, camera shows no knock or ring, just propped the parcel again the door. It was a big box and my door is close pavement so very visible. If I had not have seen the motion detection I fear my parcel could have been lost. This is no criticism of the product which is amazing but Amazon’s delivery service could have been more secure especially with such expensive items.

    Stylish keyboard
    The V3 pro is a premium keyboard with a superb finish and very nice keys. I have compared this to the Corsair K70 Pro, Das Keyboards (Prime 6, Prime 13 and the 5QS), Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro and Roccat Pyro.

    In my opinion this keyboard has the best quality finish, followed closely by the Corsair. The lighting is excellent and plenty bright for me, but this is not one of the brightest keyboards and there are reasons for this.

    The lights are enclosed in a black plastic under the keys which minimises light bleed. In fact, there is hardly any – just a shadow really. From right above the keyboard you can see some bleed but not for day to day use. Some manufacturers use a bigger key font. This is different from the majority of RGB keyboards out there, where the lights are enclosed in a translucent plastic to maximise the brightness, or have bigger gaps between the keys. For me, this keyboard has the best lighting as the lights just add to the premium finish.

    The Das keyboards also have minimal light bleed as the keys are enclosed in the case. If you only want a white backlit keyboard, then consider the prime 6 or 13. My partner has the 13 and she prefers it to the V3 Pro.

    For me, I dislike the light bleed and find it annoying, especially when I set the keyboard to white and end up with a horrible blur of whitish/blue/red/green dependant upon the manufacturer. The white on the V3 Pro is very good, but from above there is a hint of red.

    Other positives – being able to set the keypress distance is nice. For me that’s a set and forget and I’ve just left it on default. The other features are not really worth it for me. High quality volume wheel. Haven’t noticed any ping from the keys when typing, unlike some others I’ve tested.

    The negatives – A little coil whine when cycling colours. I have noticed this with other manufacture keyboards as well, but maybe not as much with them.

    Either the laser etching on a few of the keys isn’t perfect, or the light just doesn’t quite reach the corners. This is really minor, however.

    Software. Had problems getting the software to work and ended up reinstalling several times. Kept on losing the colour profiles I’d set up. It will not save your colour profile to the keyboard, so you will need the software running unless you are happy with the colours cycling.

    All in all, a great keyboard and worth the money.

    Good overall
    Purchased this as a long term gamer who is now sadly middle aged and I suffer with hand pain and stiffness after longer gaming sessions. I mostly play MMO’s and games that require use of a lot of keybinds. I was previously using a full sized Razer keyboard but it was far too large for my smaller hands. The Huntsman Mini is a perfect size for my hands and definitely helps with strain; it also saves space on my desk too. Would rate 5 stars if the keys were a little less stiff. I had been hoping they would be much softer and require less pressure to press. One thing to be aware of is the lack of certain keys such as Prt Screen, Delete etc but I soon got used to this. Overall happy and would recommend.

    Nice keyboard
    Exactly what I was hoping for. Both the keyboard itself and the wrist rest seem well made. Braided USB cable something I have come to appreciate more and more when shortlisting options. This purple switches version was on a deep discount and I’m pretty happy with it. It’s obviously not the version you want for silent typing but it’s not obnoxiously loud and I like the feel of typing on it.

    RGB is fine. The Razer software is pretty simple, and the ability to add in components to hook up with other elements of my system is nice.

    Real test is a few months use down the line but my initial impressions are really positive coming from using Roccat and Logitech in the past.

    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHuntsman Mini - My First Mechanical Keyboard!
    So I was dreaming about buying this beauty of a keyboard, and it was on a discount. Anyways, I finally decided to purchase this gaming product from Razer, as I have the Cobra, Gigantus V2 Medium and Ornata V3 X which I wanted to replace. The keyboard has different selectable colour styles, which is just the icing on the cake. The weight is great and easy to carry around, the sound of the keyboard is slightly loud, so if you want a silent keyboard, this isn’t the best for you. It is a very responsive keyboard in general, the brightness is good, keeping in mind only the letters light up, it is an easy-to-use keyboard, like a plug’n’play. All you have to do is plug in the cable to the keyboard and to the PC or Console and you’re good to go. The keycaps are amazing, the feel like they’re high quality and the build quality is amazing. It has a metal base. The final thing would be the metallic ping to the typing, but it is very weak, but i will make a video on it without the RGB.

    Great keyboard

    Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersQuality Keyboard
    postives over my old Corsair K70 Mk 2 SE

    * Much quieter when typing
    * Feels much better made
    * slightly smaller (less desk space used)
    * Wristpad much better and more comfortable.
    * Cheaper K70 was 150 2 yrs ago , Razer was 140 on sale

    Cons

    * Awful Software that has 3 yes 3 different processes running at once.
    * Not as bright as i would have liked
    * cant seem to save my settings to the on-board memory , so i can dump the software.

    overall im pretty happy with it, the wife is at least, as im not click clacking at 50 decibels while shes watching TV 😀

    Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersExcellent keyboard, but with some flaws out of the box.
    TLDR: My unit got some lubricants on the keys, but after cleaning it, it feels amazing again. Worth the price I paid. Keys feels smooth and fast. RGB is expected from Razer, nice and bright enough.

    This keyboard is amazing, I have the chance to try it out first in the Razer store in London and I fall in love with the Huntsman Mini, both the red and purple switch. I saw a good deal for the linear switch on Amazon and I bite the bullet and ordered it.

    Right out the box, the keyboard I received had some flaws. The WASD keys and the keys around it feels heavy and sticky. I was curious as what causes it since I don’t have problems with the right hand side of the keys. Upon inspection, I found out that there are some sticky lubricants or glue on the keyboard plate.

    Without any mod, the keyboard was quite loud for a linear switch I would say. The stabilizer was rattling but it’s acceptable to me compared to the normal stabilizer? Quite weird I know. But some mods to the keyboard would take it to a next level. Much smoother and sounds amazing. There are a bunch of youtube videos on modding the keyboard, relatively easy to do.

    I had it for a week now and I can say that I enjoy the keyboard with the mods. Worth the price I paid for it. 5 stars from me despite I had to clean this up before it is perfect to use. No big deal for me.
