Essential for a bird-griendly garde
Our garden attracts a lot of birds — goldfinches, various tits, dunnocks, pigeons, magpies, robins, blackbirds, and even parrots. We try to make it as bird-friendly as we can, so when the opportunity arose to try these wall-mounted bird feeders, I couldn’t refuse.
The product is a little confusing, so I shall try to explain clearly what was in the package:
2 x mounting hoops. These need to be affixed to the chosen mounting surface.
2 x metal bowls.
2 x plastic bowls.
The plastic bowls are marginally smaller than the metal ones, and fit quite comfortably inside them.
I would be inclined to use the metal bowls for water so the birds have a place to drink and bathe, and the plastic ones to hold food.
Quality is excellent for all the metal parts, but the plastic bowls are not of the same standard. They’re not poorly made, just not as well made as the others.
Everything is very easy to put up, and the pigeons found the food almost immediately.
All things considered, a lovely addition to any garden where birds are welcome.
Good value kit. Hoop bracket slightly off-horizontal
This seems like a pretty good value set of bird feeders which includes 2 shallow metal trays, one plastic tray and two hoops that flip down when in use. Four screws and wall plugs are also included for affixing to a wall, post or tree and 6 tiny clips/pegs are also provided presumably to seal your bird feed when not in use. It isn’t mentioned in the listing but they were a nice bonus.
As mentioned these hoops flip down when secured to a surface (make sure the bracket is pointing up rather than down so that the hoop opens out correctly), but they do not fold out completely horizontal. It is off by about 5-10 degrees which makes it problematic particularly for water. I easily rectified this by carefully bending the hoop down but you should do this with care so as to not damage the bracket. Other than this minor drawback, I was very happy with this product and look forward to having more feathered friends visiting our garden.
