Great for remote areas with no power supply
I had decided to put this camera on the front of our house but after installation it was clear that it wasn’t getting enough sunlight due to being north east facing so sunlight in the mornings only.
After moving the camera to the back of the house which gets way more sunlight during the day the camera has been working perfectly. I can now keep a eye on our old dog and see when he needs a hand getting back in the house.
I like the intelligent smart detection and alerts that can distinguish between motion of animals, people and vehicles. Obviously we don’t get vehicle alerts from our back garden but good to know at night that if we have one of the many foxes in our garden we can ignore it but if it were a person detected the that would warrant an investigation.
The installation was quick and easy once we selected where it was going. Without power cables you can install this camera wherever you can get a good fixing. Connectivity seems good and with an unlimited data sim card the quality of the picture is also good.
The camera has many features some you will use and others you might not depending where you put it but for the money this seems a good solution to security in areas with no power and wifi.
Solar power and 4G make this perfect for remote areas
This solar-powered camera is perfect for outdoor areas without Wi-Fi, thanks to its 4G LTE connection. I’ve set it up in a remote location, and it works flawlessly. The image quality is crystal clear, even at night, and the solar panel keeps it running without me needing to worry about power. I also like the wide pan and tilt control that lets me adjust the camera remotely. While the app is mostly intuitive, there’s a slight lag when controlling the camera in real time. It’s still a highly effective security solution, especially if you need monitoring in more isolated areas.
Effective outdoor camera
Installed the camera at a remote location without WiFi, and it has been effective. The 4G connection allows remote monitoring, providing peace of mind. The image quality is impressive, even at night. The pan and tilt features cover a wide area, which is helpful. Setup took some time, but the instructions were clear. The smart detection works well, distinguishing between people, vehicles, and animals. Occasionally, there are slight delays in the live feed, but it remains a reliable solution for monitoring remote properties. The solar panel keeps the battery charged, reducing maintenance needs.
Best solar cameras and excellent customer service.
The first camera I bought didn’t work but I contacted Reolink and they very quickly organised an easy return and replacement and the new one works perfectly. I have several Reolink cameras and have been really pleased with them. Even though I had problems this time, their customer service has always been superb and issues are sorted quickly and easily.
Using this camera with a Smarty unlimited data sim and it works brilliantly well. Smarty is on the 3mobile network in the UK. The manufacturer wasnt sure if 3mobile would work with the camera but it works perfectly in the UK. Excellent picture quality, camera notifies you by email and through the app that there is person, animal, motion or vehicle discovered but it won’t follow the movement once detected but does record locally to SD card 128GB. Good camera easy to install, solar panel seems to top up battery fine this time of year, works no problems have to see how it fairs charging in the winter!
Great Camera for Remote Locations
We have a remote farm in France that is visited rather infrequently – we bought this camera to keep an eye on the property back in the UK. It’s provided exactly this, we can pan around the property and its acres with ease.
The speaker system, allowing remote conversation and alarms is a pretty redundant feature. It’s very quiet and serves no real-world purpose – especially when installed rather high.
Motion detection-activated security lights are very bright and definitely work as a deterrent.
One thing that’s quite annoying is that the Camera doesn’t support WiFi at all, I think this should have been included and would have been a nice-to-have feature.
Non-related to the product, but remote data is very difficult to get abroad, and can even be quite limited in the UK when thinking about 4k video streaming. We’re only really able to monitor this in the lowest setting, to avoid data consumption and would run out of data in minutes if used to its full potential. To put this into a cost perspective, we get 5GB of roaming data, and 20GB of UK data for 10 per month, neither of these will allow for usage at 4K for acceptable durations – this should be taken into consideration.
Overall a great product that provides what we need.
Very good picture quality
Camera is one of the best I’ve seen in picture quality. Had trouble with Vodafone sim dropping out a couple of time a day but moved to eir sim and no problem since
Had a requirement for some security in an area with no internet or power. Looked at this product and decided to trial it.
It’s been in a few weeks now. Initially I did not fully charge it which was a clear mistake as I needed to take it down a few days later after the battery drained.
Now it’s been back up with a little UK sunshine that problem is no more.
So with a SIM card and the solar panel in place this device is brilliant. Be sure you have decent 4G and no shade issues and you’ll be happy too.
The cloud storage is very reasonable from Reolink as well.

This is the 4th Reolink wireless 4g camera I have bought and they get better and better, I only bought another ones as the storm damaged the old one, absolutely brilliant, so easy to install & set up. I have recommended these to friends and nobody is disappointed, customer service is great too when you have a problem, 5 STARS from me
Absolutely love this camera, love keeping and eye on my horse when he’s in his stable. I have a lot of trees around my stable so sunlight isn’t brilliant for charging, but I just charge it on mains once a week, but my friend said in the summer months it charges fine . Very happy.
