his is one of the best security cameras I’ve found, the price is good for what you get .picture quality is excellent I have 4 of these now. you just put them Up, download the app and away you go, solar charged So no messing about taking them down charging the batteries. and the solar charging works very well
Excellent performance and has a quality feel.
Very nice product – feels solid and well made. Easy to set up, and good performance. Very sharp pictures. Only thing missing is ‘Face Recognition’ but I have an H500 hub which offers that for any camera.
A 4k, battery powered camera with solar panels and it delivers to a great standard. Very easy to set up, a great price (bought on prime day sales). The app is easy to understand and works along with other tapo devices to build an eco system.
It’s compatible with SD cards, a tapo home hub (I have the h500 which is also fab and gives extra functionality to your camera) and an option to subscribe for cloud storage but this is not essential at all.
I’ve opted for an SD card as a back up and the h500 as the main driver to make use of the extra features it provides.
A fantastic product which doesn’t hide it’s best features behind a subscription wall
I will be buying more tapo cameras and slowly replacing my old cameras l, both to avoid subscription and because I’m genuinely much more impressed by these than my current system.

Good Camera but...
Bought 3 of this type and 2 are working great and I haven’t had to recharge the last 2 months. One of them, however, needs recharging almost every 4 days. Would have given 5 stars.
Very good value for money, clear pictures and sound. It is able to start recording before the image gets into view, so I don’t miss a thing. I like the fact that I can adapt it at any angle I like, and the app notification is super as well. This should be the best on the market for the price, I am sure. It also connects to Google Home. I can even use it in the card wirelessly when fully charged if I am going on a long scenenic road trip. This is quality.
I bought the Tapo TC82 to keep an eye on my backyard and kids playing outside, and it has been fantastic. Setup took literally 5 minutes – just mount it, connect to the app, and you’re done. No wiring and the 180-day battery life is no joke; it’s been running for weeks with zero
maintenance.
The 2K video quality is sharp and clear, and the colour night vision is genuinely impressive – I can see every detail in the garden even when it’s pitch black. The Al detection is smart enough to ignore swaying trees but still alerts me instantly when someone (or the dog) is there. Best of all, there are no monthly fees and it works perfectly with both Alexa and Google Home.
If you want reliable, high-quality outdoor security without subscriptions or complicated installation, this is the one. I’ve already recommended it to friends and family. Highly recommend!
Great cameras, perfect for a cheap set up, depending on where they are placed and how much traffic there is depends on how long the battery lasts, east to install, the screw plugs broke easily so used my own but the picture quality and sound quality is great for the price and they are quite small so easy to place. Would give another star if maybe it could rotate when needed

Great little camera
This is just a great little camera. I have eight Tapo cameras but this is the first wireless one and I am impressed. Easy to set-up and since being installed it is still at 95% battery life and that is now a good few weeks.
Good but AI needs more work
On the whole I found this a good bit of kit, it does what it claims it can. The only criticism I have is the AI needs further development. For example the camera is great in daylight, it covers my garden path. However, at night it constantly identifies two water butts, which are not a problem in daytime and obviously don’t move, as people. Because the path is not straight I can’t identify a rectangular area that excludes the water butts. Otherwise, great product.
Great little camera!
Very compact. Easy to set up, connect and fit to the wall. Super app that’s very easy to use. Too early to comment on battery life. Overall very pleased and would recommend!
Not got a standard 3 pin plug
We have already got one of these camera’s it works well and has a very clear picture with good features on the app ,I ordered another one for my parents and was disappointed that the charging cable didn’t have a three pin plug, I had this problem with another electrical item and had to purchase a adapter which was a 2 pack so I have a spare one so he can use the camera,but adding the adapter does make it stick out alot from the socket not ideal if going behind furniture.
Honestly, this kit is class. I use mine in my tortoise table to check in on my tortoise and see what he’s eaten and where he’s been etc.
The first misconception is that people say the live view is slow to connect. This is untrue, and is solely based on the many other complexities within a home network – speed, router, distance to junction box. Remember this is upload speeds, not download speed. The video is being uploaded through your router, not downloaded. Hopefully my video makes that clear for other people who are interested.
The second is the weight for mounting. I’ve mounted mine using a paperclip and wire, with the camera facing down. This has been solid and the weight hasn’t made a difference. In fact it feels quite considering it’s a rotating camera!
The camera takes very little time to install and setup, it works great with the app and with other Kasa products. Mine is hanging upside down and the image in the app was flipped in the settings menu. The zone feature is fantastic to snap the camera in its different angles of view. I try to cover the important places or as many angles to make navigation quick and easy. However, the joystick is also very usable and makes navigation slower but still smooth and easy.
I can’t fault this product, but I haven’t tried the night vision at this time as it isn’t a feature that I use, so bear this in mind. This is great for so many use cases, I can’t recommend it enough 🙂
Great tech and easy to use
Bought for home monitoring while away. Camera was easy to ad to Kasa app, and is easy to use. I installed above my front door and had the option to state thefeed 180 degrees so the picture is perfect. Motion detection is excellent, and can be turned on and off.
The only thing I would reconsider is placement. I placed it looking out through glass at my front door, and at night the night vision infrared reflects against the glass so the image is blurred. But I’ve put in a motion sensor light which has resolved. Not the cameras fault, more of a consideration for placement. Over very happy and will add more Kasa Camera, as I have a number of Kasa smart plugs on the app too
Quality performance!!!!
WOW! I was blown away by the amount of settings you can choose. My previous similar camera constantly sent notifications because my baby wriggles in her sleep, so we never knew which notifications were relevant or not. This one has a setting to alert you if the baby is crying, or moving, or other sound is detected, you can ask it to tell you if it’s detected a person entering a room, and to notify you if the movement has been going on for longer than a certain period of time. The image quality in day light and night is amazing! So clear! I’m really so impressed. It looks very smart to. The camera has a very wide angle too so it shows our daughters entire room. Highly recommend this camera for both surveillance and as a baby monitor. Has a two way microphone/speaker too so you can hear what’s happening and speak to the person too, that’s also super clear.
This is my 2nd Kasa Camera I bought as the first one I bought on EBay. First of all my advice and if your a prime member buy this device from here.. as the set up was much simpler then the first time I when I bought my 1st one of eBay.. As the set up the first camera was a nightmare and so frustrating.
The set up on this 2nd one from Amazon was simple this time round I was all set up and working within 3mins or so… the day time picture quality is very good but the night vision is not as good as the site say.. but it may be how iv got it placed as I’m using it to watch my drive way and back entrance… and motion tracking is very good in the day yet to try this at night.. live stream is good.. the only thing I will say is the app can be a bit slow… movement and adjusting the camera is very good and the remote adjustment via the app is very good,other wise good for the price for a basic cam..
ok it’s not a ring or a more expensive set but if you just want a security camera for deterrent then this is worth a look. And if you subscribe to the Kasa care plan for 2.99 per camera you can get the extra features cheaper then rings price plan. And plus Kasa gives 30 day free trail . And if u don’t want the extra features you can cancel before you are charged.
Overall it’s worth a look..
since iv bought the 2 cameras I’m thinking of getting the out door version next may be in the new year
