Yosh is my go to brand for car holders
I have previously been using a Yosh car phone holder that uses magnets to stick to my phone, but as my partner doesn’t own a compatible phone – it was frustrating as it only worked for 1 of us. This Yosh phone holder is universal in compatibility – thus perfect for our needs.
I think I prefer this one as I have a big iPhone and it supports it very well (by spreading the weight across rather than focused on a singular point). The double hook design is great as it grips to the air vent and is very secure. The phone then sits in the holder and you squeeze the side arms to lock the phone in.
There is a quick release button on the right hand side and the arms spring apart. You can have the phone landscape or portrait and you can tilt it too. It’s very easy to install and easy to use. I use Waze navigation on my iPhone so the phone holder is perfect for me.
OSH Car Phone Holder with Double Lock Metal Hook
This is a nice, sturdy mobile phone holder that fits on the back of an air vent vane in your car using two metal “hooks”. I have installed mine on the bottom vane of the air vent, so that the base gets additional support from the car dashboard and, once the phone is in there, it remains solid.
The side grips, when not used, tend to default to a wide status – once your phone is in there, you just squeeze them in to fit your phone. To release – there’s a small button on the side. It does take a little while to get used to finding that button – not helped by it being the same black colour as the holder – but this may just be me, having become used to a magnetic holder (which used to wobble all over the place, hence the change).
The base of the holder, where the bottom of the phone sits, is extendable – but not by much. However, my Pixel 8 Pro fitted in it with no problem.
Overall, the phone holder feels solid and reasonably good quality. There aren’t a lot of options for the way it angles, relying on a sole ball joint for movement, but that’s probably one of the reasons it feels so solid.
Fitted it in the end
At first trying to fit it upside down, it promptly fell off. Then I watched the little video and now it’s fine. Quite sturdy and secure. Easy to pop the phone in and tighten up.
Excellent for cars with small air vents
Having recently changed my wife’s car, the old magnetic phone holder was too fat to fit between the air vents where most magnetic holders fit.
This phone holder used a hook-style fitting and fits where easily between the vanes. It is tightened manually and provides a 100% secure attachment.
Although we’re not so keen on the way the phone is held, it not being as discreet as a magnetic holder, the soft ‘jaws’ grip the phone tightly and, as a bonus, do tend to hold the phone more securely than the magnetic type. The phone won’t twist either, so that’s another advantage.
No hesitation recommending this no matter what type of vent you want to fit it too. For some it’ll be a matter of taste… for others, like us, it’s the only way to go!

I’ve stayed away from these type of phone mounts due to bad experience’s I’ve had with them in the past , loose wobbling etc
I thought I would try this one and see if they have improved , and I can report they have !
This fitted in my vents easily and when done up was very stable with no wobbling or anything when using or when going along .
My phone fitted into the two jaws easily although the release button was a bit hard to locate when your phone was being gripped , other than that , it seemed very secure and not bad for the price although there are cheaper ones out there

This is a great quality product that comes well packaged. If you are looking for this type of product it definitely is easy to use and comes with instructions so you can get this set up and start using it straight away. Recommended for anyone who needs this type of item.
Works well
This Yoshi car vent phone holder works well.
The phone is held securely without rattle and setting it up takes seconds and install once and you’re done.
There are rubber padding pieces on all the parts that come into contact with the phone to avoid any damage at all and the phone is held securely in position.
The only minor criticisms are that there isn’t a huge range of angles that you can adjust this to direct the phone once it is installed. The two screw parts on the rear are too close together to allow a wide range of movement, so for example someone in the passenger seat would not be able to rotate the screen to face them directly as it doesn’t turn that far. Vertical and horizontal movement are both similarly limited.
The side of the mount has a simple button press release mechanism, which also works well. The closing mechanism feels slightly clunky/cheap compared to other equivalents I’ve tried. But it all works well so far.
The mount is currently on offer with a 3 voucher to price it around 11, which is competitive but not the cheapest around.
Overall it’s 4 stars from me.
Very useful phone holde
Very sturdy phone holder, I feel that my phone is very secure with the spring arms holding it in place rather than relying on a magnet.
Easy to construct and install taking only a few minutes, the 360 gimball mechanism is very helpful to see the phone at the right angle and the angle can be changed easily with one hand.
Quick and easy to install. Holds phone securely.
Over all very quick and easy to install.
The metal claws grip the air vents well without damaging them. Because they hook over the flap even when you hit bumps it does not shake loose.
The phone grip is firm and can hold the phone well either landscape for gps map or satnav, or portrait.
The fitting on the back appears to be a standard ball joint and as such it actually fits other accessories I have, which I’m sure will prove useful.
Over all very pleased that it solved a problem nice and easily.
good air vent mount for phones
This phone holder is nicely designed with good button access and works well in my car.
The back mount goes on the vent blade, and this then is tightened against it by rotating the collar as you can see in the video, it is just a nut it tightens and would be better if it had a click for every little bit you tighten it so it can’t just come loose with the vibration of driving like other ones I have had.
The other end has a ball joint fixing to go into the back of the phone holder. I like the mount as its nice and slim so doesn’t stick the holder out too far and the ball joint then gives you a huge range or motion or angle adjustment which is then tightened to secure it in place.
The cradle has an adjustable lip on the bottom to hold the base of your phone in place but still allow access to its charging port if you need it. Then the arms either side are pushed in to click lock around the phone and hold it securely in place. When you come to leave press the button on either of the sides and the arms slide open with a lovely smooth action and you lift the phone out.
Overall, it works well and feels fairly well made, at 14.99 currently it’s a bit more than others with the click locking tightening collar so it needs a deal on the price to be good value for money.
