Great little camera
Easy to install and use. Great picture and recoding quality, very clear even with night vision. Small camera fits nice and neatly in car. perfect size and more important top quality looks and feels great , for the price can’t fault it, 10 out of 10 from me very happy indeed and would purchase agai
Good image clarity and reliable in use.
The camera mounts firmly and there is a good length of cable included to power it.
Ther aren a lot of bells and whistles with this device but especially in daytime it does capture a very clear and detailed image which is its primary prupose.
Please be aware this is a looped recording so after a while it willstart overwriting previous recordings in which case I do preger to get a larger memory card than the supplied 32GB card. I’ve not had issue with teh supplied card, so no courrupted or unreadable files everythign is aworking as it should.
In teh past I have tried other dashacams that were not big name brands and observed a few quirks and glitches in operation. This camera hasnt given me any operational issues like freezing or corruption so far.
I think everyone should have a dsah cam fitted to their cars, they are so invaluable these days and at this price theres no reason not to grab one
Decent Camera, Good Daytime Video. OK night. Rear View potential
I’ve been a FAN of dashcams for a fair while now and don’t travel without one. Are they perfect, NO, non of them, are they VERY useful, definately.
The Camera here is GREAT. Resolution and daytime video is excelent as shown by the included still. It’s a photo of the .ts video file, so the actual video is better. Arguably better than my default Mivue one which isn’t 4k. I’ve not managed proper nightime video (summer nights) but on a road trip i did capture some footage from a tunnel. You can definately see what is going on, but glare from lights obscure numberplates, making it less useful.
The other factor here is no GPS or data recording. You’ve got great visuals, which will help IF the worst happens, but that’s it. My mivue has a GPS stamp and G-force sensors, Speed and so forth. It also does speed cams and is smaller.
It’s a Great bundle. The 32gb card does 2-3hrs recording which is great for most journeys but then loops and records over. There’s a “crash” sensor which moves video from that to a seperate folder which doesn’t overwrite, but personally if using in ernest i’d get a much bigger card. A few days worth at least.
The included bundle is VERY comprehensive, a reset pin and spudger for car trims were a surprise, the included usb-c cable is 5m long, decently thin and should do anything you ask, plus the cigarette lighter adaptor is seperate, meaning you can use the cable if you have a spare car usb port or multicharger. Mount is decent and solid.
Personally I like the idea of this camera as a secondary rear view one. I don’t need all the data for the rear and you can set it to chirp when powered on. The long cable, set and forget and a LOT of accidents happen behind you!
A good budget dash cam, good to have fitted if the situation arises
Decent dash cam kit, supplied with all you need to run a front camera setup. It includes a basic USB 2.0 card reader, a plastic lever to aid with hiding the cable and a single port USB A car power adapter.
Decent length cable, effective mounting bracket (a ‘sucker’ type which I prefer to the more permanent sticker type) so the physical installation is straight forward, just a case of hiding everything best you can.
Fitted up behind the rear view mirror, with the cable tucked into the head lining, it was an easy fit.
Plugged it into my existing USB adapter, formatted the memory card and was up and running.
Easy enough to set up, going through the menus is fairly intuitive, with all the fixed buttons clearly labelled and some reference to the instructions. Setting the time and date, recording resolution, recording intervals etc all achieved easily.
Unit powers up quickly when the power comes on, then powers down after approx. 10 seconds when the power goes off.
In use it works as expected, the recorded image is clear, it appears to record in one minute clips and I found a basic to and from work journey (approx. 7 minutes each way) used about 5gb on the card, so it will be re-writing over the existing information quite quickly with the supplied 32gb card, with the loop recording mode.
Watching clips back there are a couple of places where the playback goes ‘blocky’ but only for a second or so and that might be my computer, other than that, good clear footage, easy to read number plates etc. so if it was ever needed in an accident, the footage would be more than adequate.
A good budget dash cam, good to have fitted if the situation arises.
Not too bad
My husband is the main driver of our car, and therefore I asked him for his help to write this review.
Things to like:
1. Compact size of both the camera and the mount means it takes up little space and doesn’t impede your view out the windscreen*
2. Kit comes with everything you need including a tool for routing the charging cable behind trim and a 32GB MicroSD card
3. Charging cable is nice and long so should fit most cars
4. Charging point on the camera is on the top which means it goes straight up into the windscreen lining for hiding away
5. Easy to use and set up.
6. Tested in bright and overcast conditions and yet the image was decent, with number plates readable on playback
*see things to dislike point 4
Things to dislike:
1. The recording just overlays time and date, not speed or heading. This means it is not perfect for evidence and I don’t know what that would mean if you used it in an insurance claim. Means it’s more like a video camera for recording pretty drives than a proper dash cam
2. The mount is compact and easy to fix, plus incredibly secure, however it doesn’t isolate vibrations which has a big impact on the recordings
3. Doesn’t come with a hardwire kit which limits its ability as a 24/7 monitor for things like parking prangs as its internal battery is tiny and can only record for 2 minutes if fully charged.
4. If your car has sensors mounted around the rear view mirror (e.g. lane assist/light and rain sensor), your only option is to mount it lower down the windscreen which does impede your view out the windscreen
5. The supplied MicroSD card USB reader regularly crashes when trying to play files on the computer. Also it’s not Mac compatible.
6. Whilst wide angle, I found it didn’t cover the full field of view out my windscreen, but that could be due to having to mount lower down due to the box of sensors
Things to note:
1. Not tried at night so can’t comment on its ability to record at night
2. Not been involved in a bump so can’t comment on its ability to detect and store a crucial clip
Hopefully this helps other buyers. It’s not bad for the price, especially if you’re just looking for something cheap.
Good bit of kit with lots of functions
I would say the highlight of this product is the quality of the camera itself. The picture that it gives is of high definition, good colour and good quality. As somebody who has a neurological disease, I would have loved full instructions in the box. It does come with a quick start guide, but these involve you Clicking on a QR code to take you to either video instructions on YouTube or written instructions on the Internet. The QR code for the video just takes you to the generic channel for this brand and it’s a bit difficult to follow. After a bit of hit and miss kind of worked out myself how to set it up. Going through the menu options, it has loads of different functions and settings. It also comes with a memory SD card to kickstart you and a USB port to put this SD card into so that you can transfer this onto another device. The only issue I perceive with this is that I have a MacBook which has those with any Apple products have no that it doesn’t actually have a USB port so I would need to get a USB converter port in order to be able to transfer this onto my laptop. this aside, I’m really pleased with this item at this price point and feel it will offer that extra layer of safety and security when driving. Or indeed parking!
love it 10/10
great quality camera. this is my second Izeeker dashcam. My first was used when a guy run a red light and tried to blame me, insurance guy didn’t believe how much it cost because it was so clear and said he was going to buy one too. When I heard they did an upgraded one I gave the old one to my daughter and treat myself to this one, its even better! So easy to set up too. I left the instructions in the house but set it up without them. choice of with or without sound so all of my conversations are private (and my awful singing!) lol . I will definitely buy one when my next child passes their driving test, <3 <3 <3
Clear image capture. Suction cup issue at first but it resolved. Adequate features.
This is a good quality dash cam that’s performed well so far. The battery was almost drained when first setting it up, and It ran out of power before completing the date and time setup. I set it on charge and went back to it the next day. It was at the same point during setup that I’d left it, so I completed that and then did some tests out of the car first of all. Image quality is clear. It does not have a feature that I could find to rotate the image in case you wanted to install with the cable pointing down rather than out of the top. Starting recording is simple, and if connected to power, it would start recording when the car is started. There is a feature to record while parked if desired too. I found playback slightly fiddly and less intuitive than I’d expect, but once familiar with the process it’s easy enough. There’s a basic USB A memory card reader included too, which should ensure that almost anyone can get data off the 32GB memory card that’s also provided.
When it came to testing in my car, I could not get the suction cup to stick on the windscreen, nor even a flat side window. This was super frustrating given that the camera itself is decent. When back home I tried it on a window in the house and it stuck really well. I removed it, which ironically was then rather tricky, and tried in the car again; this time it also stuck as expected with ease and firmly. So I’m not sure what the issue was initially, unless the pad needed some time to become effective after removing the plastic film.
There are protected and unprotected areas on the SD card. You can record to either area manually, but ordinarily recording will be to the unprotected area with overwriting when full. It has a g-sensor for collision detection, the sensitivity of which can be adjusted, and recording will be assigned to the protected area in the event this is triggered. Protected recordings do not get overwritten.
Overall this a good camera at a reasonable price, and I’ve not found any major negatives so far other than the initial suction cup issue.
Easy to install, works great and easier to use than other dashcams I have used
This iZeeker iD400 Dashcam is a really nice product. It is unobtrusive, fitting neatly behind the rearview mirror. It has a lot of great options and features so that it can be customised to your own needs. I like the feature that allows you to turn the audio recording on and off as well as the feature that allows you to mute all the sounds that the device makes when it starts up and shuts down. I find that the camera is easier to adjust than other cameras, with up/down/left/right movement made easy by the bracket which attaches the device to the window. Additionally, the bracket uses a suction cup device to attach to the window, rather than a double-sided sticky pad, which makes removal and reinstallation a breeze. I would recommend this item.
