Game Change
I am very pleased with this, and I’m pleased that I chose it as my first colour, e-ink reader – something I have been looking at for some time, It’s much better than any of the Kindle readers I have owned. One standout feature is the **Google Drive integration**, which makes adding your ownbooks incredibly easy and convenient.
The eReader is lightweight, making it perfect for on-the-go reading. Another fantastic aspect is that it is fully repairable by the user — you can even replace the battery yourself! This is a huge plus for those who value sustainability and longevity in their devices.
The display offers vibrant color saturation, which can be further enhanced by switching to “developer mode.” This is a simple process, and there are plenty of YouTube videos available to guide you through it. The display is also glare-free, making reading comfortable even in bright sunlight.
Additionally, the Kobo Libra Colour supports a wide range of file formats, including EPUB, PDF, and MOBI, giving you the flexibility to read almost any book you want. The device also features something kobo calls **ComfortLight PRO**, which reduces blue light exposure, making it easier on the eyes during nighttime reading.
Overall, I highly recommend the Kobo Libra Colour for anyone looking to enhance their reading experience with a versatile, user-friendly, and sustainable Reader! It’s also, for a colour reader especially, very cheap. Now, if only they would bring down the price of the stylus that goes with it.
Happy using
Google Drive can read pdf and OverDrive can borrow public libary’s books, grea and have back light. if I haven’t buy the pen, it seem cannot use the note function with finger.
Great alternative to a kindle
The Kobo Libra Colour E-Reader has been an excellent upgrade for me! The side buttons are a standout feature, similar to my older kindle, making it incredibly easy to navigate through books and hold the device comfortably during long reading sessions. The colour screen has exceeded my expectations, especially when reading comics—though it can’t completely replace the experience of printed material, it’s a fantastic way to carry and enjoy multiple comics on the go.
I also purchased the stylus, and so far, it’s been great for note-taking. It’s responsive and smooth to use, though I do wish there was an option to sync notes with OneDrive. Google Drive works fine, but having more options would be a nice touch.
One of the biggest perks has been the ability to connect to my local library and borrow books for free—this has been such a game-changer! The transition from my Kindle was seamless, and I have no regrets about making the switch. Overall, this is a solid e-reader that I’m very happy with.
Perfect eReader for Book Lovers
I bought the Kobo Libra Colour eReader for my girlfriend, and she absolutely loves it! This was her first eReader, and she was excited to learn about Kobo and explore the vast library of books available. One of the standout features for her is the ability to connect directly to her local library, giving her access to a wide range of ebooks for free—a feature she really values.
The color version of this eReader is perfect for her as she enjoys annotating and highlighting words while reading. Another big plus is that she can easily add books she already owns, something she couldn’t do with a Kindle. She also finds the Kobo Plus subscription to be the best value out there, offering great access to books at an affordable price. Overall, this eReader has been a fantastic purchase!
Worth every penny. I researched this reader for a very long time before committing. And I also added the stylus as this is a long term spend, and decided to get everything day one. One day after delivery and I am glad I spent the money.
It’s light, nice to hold and I prefer buttons for page advance rather than having to touching the screen. Although you can do that as well if you prefer.
Overdrive for borrowing books from my local library was a major reason I moved away from my Kindle. A limitless supply of reading makes my spend on my Kobo Libra Colour self financing. Read 20 books and it’s paid for itself.
Highly recommended
This Libra Colour seems to have a better response time to pdfs than my other e-readers (kindle or kobo). The colours look a bit washed out but it’s better than bw. At the moment if you have an old PC, Calibre doesn’t recognise these colour EReaders, so you can’t sideload books, but it’s OK on Windows 10.
Have been wanting a reader for a while was unsure whether to go for it or not as I have a library card and am not a big reader on my phone as it hurts my eyes.
I was unsure to get the kobo or a kindle but being able to put my library books on this really sealed the deal for me.
I find that kobo plus is great for the price and between that and have issues finding books to read.
The device is intuitive , with easy menus and as my first ereader i quickly set it up finding all the menus easy to navagate. I attached my library card quickly in the kobo aswell.
The screen looks great, it isn’t to bright – I leave mine on automatic settings and it doesn’t cause headaches or eyestrain like my phone or iPad. The colours are similar to printed old comics and have in my opinion a tone that are easy to look at and are well balanced but are not vivid like other smart devices and cannot be changed with contrast or balance settings, The battery I’m finding lasts 1 -2 weeks . The kobo feels solid and feels comfortable to hold.
