    Great fu
This LEGO set is incredibly impressive compared to the standard sets. It comes with everything you need to create multiple interactive scenes, and create 4 characters. The bags are numbered to make it easier to follow the instructions, which are easy to understand due to it being picture based.

The bricks are sturdy and well made, as you’d expect with LEGO, and I particularly liked that the bags were paper instead of plastic like they previously were, making it all more environmentally friendly. You need batteries to use the interactive features on Luigi, and these are not provided.

The interactive features are very impressive, it has a code scanner built into the bottom of his legs, and you place it over different bricks and blocks to make him react different ways. He makes sounds and plays the Mario theme, his eyes and mouth move around, and the screen on his chest changes based on the block (e.g. purple blocks make him react like he is in goo, blue blocks are watery, etc).

You can use this on its own, or as part of the whole set as he will react with other codes from different sets of the same range. It took about an hour to build everything with my 6 year old and there were spares for the small fiddly parts which are likely to get lost.

Overall, it is a really interesting change to standard LEGO and is perfect for a Mario fan. It would make a great gift.

It’s something new and a bit differe
When we had the chance to try this I wasn’t expecting it to have so many features. It looks like Lego are trying something new and it’s a good thing they are.

At first glance I didn’t think this offered much. Even with Lego tax its cost seems quite high for not a lot of parts. But there’s more to this set.

Luigi is battery powered and interactive based on where he’s placed. That’s a nice addition and adds more to the set. It adds more to the overall set if you buy the main parts. And this is more of an add on to the main set, yet still can work fine in its own. The app side of things is pretty cool if you have a child old enough to have their own phone/tablet.

Overall you might not get a lot of pieces but it’s interactive. I mean, so is your/your child’s imagination but it’s time Lego moved forward and it works. We’re happy with it.

    Good Lego Mario se
Great Lego set. My kids absolutely love this and love the interactive Luigi. Lovely Lego set for them to play with. It kept them entertained for a good while then they water Mario bros afterwards.

Interactive and a bit of story-telling to earn coins
LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Interactive Luigi Toy, 71440

This Lego set makes Luigi come alive with sounds, lights, and reactions. It requires 2xAA batteries. Each round lasts 60 seconds, and you’ll need to ‘scan’ Luigi to earn coins or a star. The app tells you how to play the game. It has the classic sound of the Super Mario game when Super Mario finishes the game with the end flag. My 5-year-old was able to figure out how it works by just reading the user manual. It could have been better, tho, if it included a plate to keep all the pieces together. Luigi is kinda funny as he will say ‘ouch’ when you drop him, or mamma mia when you pull his pants off. Recommendable.

Great gift for young LEGO builders
My child loves this LEGO Luigi set. The interactive features bring the characters to life, making it more than just a building experience. The set is well-designed and offers plenty of opportunities for creative play. It’s a fantastic gift for any LEGO or Mario fan, providing both entertainment and a fun building challenge.

    Wow, so cool!
I ordered the LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Interactive Luigi Toy for my granddaughter, and she absolutely loved it! The set is both fun and engaging, with vibrant colours and plenty of interactive elements that kept her entertained for hours. The standout feature is definitely the “Interactive Luigi” figure, which was a pleasant surprise. Unlike traditional LEGO figures, Luigi is electronic, with animated eyes, a moving mouth, and a chest plate that displays different reactions. This adds a unique layer of interactivity, as he responds to various tags on other components of the set, making playtime even more immersive. It’s fascinating to watch Luigi react to different scenarios, whether it’s jumping on enemies or collecting coins. My granddaughter was thrilled every time he made a new sound or displayed a different expression. It’s worth noting that you’ll need 2xAAA batteries to power Luigi, but once he’s up and running, he’s full of personality. Overall, this set is a fantastic blend of traditional LEGO building and modern electronic play, making it perfect for both young builders and fans of Mario games. It’s a great gift idea that combines creativity and interactive fun in one package!

    Lego becomes digital!
This set is perhaps a game changer in the direction of which Lego products are going in terms of technology. It’s what you could call a hybrid between a tech toy and a kids game in a way that I haven’t really seen before. From a pure Lego only perspective, it’s not the world’s best set – there’s not so many pieces etc given the value you’re currently paying for it. However it comes with this interactive Luigi (which requires batteries) and when that is all built, you’re basically assembling your own course which works with the app on a mobile/ipad (not so ideal for the younger kids out there who don’t have their own yet) and then it’s like the Mario game of old collecting coins on a course which you’ve assembled. By itself the Luigi set doesn’t perhaps achieve too much but when you pair it together with other Mario themed sets, which although becomes more expensive, will more than double the entertainment value here. Certainly a novel direction to take Lego and can certainly see that being a hit with many fans!

    It's A-Luigi!!
This Super Mario set features LUIGI, don’t get confused thinking it features Mario, that’s a different set! In this one you get Luigi, a pink Baby Yoshi, a Boo, and Kamek as well as a variety of generic set pieces, and Mario themed warp-pipe.

The “Interactive Luigi” is something I’ve not seen before; he’s basically electronic, with animated eyes, mouth and chest plate that allows him to “react” to different situations., triggered by a sensor underneath that reads tags on other components. It’s interesting, to say the least. You’ll need 2xAAA batteries for this.

This Luigi set is clearly the “supporting” set, the main characters are featured in the Mario set, but I’m not going to mark it down for being support, because it has to exist anyway (you wouldn’t want to double up on main characters, and you’d also want the main villains to be with the main characters, so can’t fault the distribution here).

This set is clearly designed to be used in conjunction with the larger sets. There’s just not that much to do with Luigi with just this set alone. You can establish a very simplistic “level” for him to traverse through, but aside from interacting with the same few pieces again and again, there’s not much else. But it’s also “only” 45 with a featured electronic component, so I guess you can’t expect too much. If you mix it with the other sets though, then you can make some interesting layouts.
