Does the job well and has a much longer battery life than I was expecting
I was worried Moman weren’t proffessional level batteries as I’d always used more expensive brands like Nano’s etc but a friend in industry I trusted was using these and I needed one for my R5C B cam – works great, it’s lighweight, good design and build quality. I’ll probably stay Moman for a lot of my gear.
Really good battery for the price.
I’ve bought one of these a couple of months back and was really impressed with the quality and battery life. I’m using it with a bmpcc 4k with accessories and get around 3-4 hours runtime so 2 of these pretty much covers a day shoot for me. Product is well built, mounts to the v-Mount perfectly and is well presented when delivered. Great purchase!
Great battery with plenty of power and 2 power output sockets.
Great battery with plenty of power. This is the second one of these batteries that I have bought having been very happy with the first one. I was looking for a battery to power a 55w LED ring light and field monitor at the same time and this has done the job brilliantly. The battery lasted with no problem through a long shoot and was still half charged at the end of the day. It’s far lighter than the previous battery that I used and it also has 2 power outputs, which is very useful. It takes a while to charge, but ok if you put it on overnight. The battery level indicator is very clear and useful.
Reliable, budget friendly alternative to the big names
So far so good, a year in. I bought this after seeing a fellow filmmaker own one on Instagram and I have since purchased a second. The battery is well built, feels solid and the USB and D Tap outputs are great. There is now a newer version with USB-C and an electronic display, but it is slightly larger, heavier, and more expensive. This is still the compact budget king.
The battery delivers on price and use
I purchased this V lock battery to use on my Canon R6 camera rig which consists of Canon R6 with an Atomos Ninja V recorder. The Canon R6 also has a Tilta Cooling system for the R6 which needs power via USB C. The battery managed to power the R6, the Ninja V and the Tilta Cooling system for most of the shoot I did at the week end. The battery is smaller than my other V lock batteries of similar 99Wh capacity which made the rig size smaller which was good for me. I will probably buy more of these batteries and use them on my other camera rigs
Moman: Power 99 V-lock Battery (99Wh/14.4V)
I have a couple of photographic equipment which require v-mount batteries and whilst I do have an alternative method to use my NP-F batteries, I only have one adaptor plate, so thought it was about time to get an actual V-mount battery and I’m glad I did.
The ‘Power 99’ by Moman feels incredibly robust and made of high quality. The battery is roughly half the size of a building brick and is advertised to weigh in at 530g.
What I really like about this battery is the multiple uses I can get from just one unit:
* V-mount: Allows direct connect with compatible V-mount devices, such as one of my main photography lights. I love how secure the battery is when mounted.
* D-Tap: Using an appropriate D-Tap cable (sold separately), there are plenty of devices this can power up. I utilise the D-Tap method for my Rotolight Neo 2. Also, there are two D-Tap ports available.
* USB-A: There are two USB ports available which can be used to charge devices such as smartphones etc…
Another nice feature is the LED power meter so you can get a rough idea of how much power is left, so you’re less likely to be caught off-guard.
It’s very important to note that this battery does not come with a charger which is clearly stated in the description; I don’t think the brand ‘Moman’ manufacture their own charger, so I ended up ordering one from a different company.
Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this battery. It holds a lot of power inside and gives me a variety of power options in one unit.
