Summary
Turns my car play wired head unit into a wireless one.
Connection issues with USB-A
My head unit doesn’t support wireless Carplay and my USB-A lightning cable has had some connectivity issues recently, e.g. disconnections around corners. This product completely removed this issue and connects within seconds every time I start my engine. The unit comes with options of USB-A or USB-C connection and I found the USB-C to be excellent and reliable.
Carplay
My RoadAngel head unit switches to Carplay automatically and worked first time.
Value for money
Nothing worse than losing your music on the road. This is a bargain for me at 25.
Conveniently Wireless
The Wireless CarPlay Adapter is a fantastic upgrade to my driving experience, making everything so much more convenient. I love the simplicity of converting my car’s wired CarPlay system to wireless, which means no more dealing with tangled cables every time I get in the car. The setup was really straightforward. It was just plug and play, and after the initial pairing, the adapter reconnects automatically every time. The wireless connection is stable and smooth, allowing me to use navigation, calls, and music without any noticeable lag.
The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that, on rare occasions, there are brief moments of connectivity hiccups, but nothing too disruptive. The inclusion of both USB and USBC adapters is a thoughtful touch, making it compatible with a variety of setups. The WIFI6 support also seems to improve the overall speed and responsiveness. Overall, it’s a solid product that makes CarPlay much more convenient and user friendly, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to cut the cords and upgrade their driving experience.
Four out of five.
Excellent product.
I bought this as I was going on a trip though France and Spain, great product, worked out of the box and I can keep my phone in my pocket, connects automatically and linked to Waze for satnav, great to have no wires over the dash, super price as well.

Wireless Carplay Adapter UK 2024 Converts Wired to Wireless carplay Adapter for iPhone
I got this as my husband has an iPhone and his previous car had wireless Apple carplay and his current car doesn’t so thought this would be a good alternative.
Firstly, I tested it my car (Kia Xceed) and it was compatible with my car, but as I have android phone, whilst it worked with my car my phone couldn’t find it, it was a long shot as the product details clearly stated it was for apple phones only, but curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to try just in case, but the result was as expected.
I then set it up in my husband’s car (Ford Fiesta ST) which was as simple as plugging it in the the USB and then pairing his iPhone to the device. It displayed all the Apple CarPlay content and the car’s voice control worked well with it.
Okay, so the drawback that my husband is not happy about, so whilst the device is plugged in, if you want to switch to your car’s own infotainment screen such as it’s radio for example, it will only stay on that screen a short time and then it automatically flicks back to the Apple CarPlay screen. I don’t know if this is specific to Fords or whether there is a setting I’ve missed, I’ve had a look but can’t see any on car or phone, but it is a bit annoying. The solution is to unplug the adapter when not need and plug it in when required, which is not much of an improvement from needing a cable.
For me, it wouldn’t be an issue, as I usually have my Android Auto screen on, and I can still change radio stations, my husband’s car still lets him change stations too from the steering wheel controls, but he likes to see what song is playing and what it is called and see what station it is on, personally I think he’s being picky but just wanted to draw attention to it in case anyone else is particular like my husband!
Easy to set up and a wirefree
Our transition from a traditional, wired car player to this wireless adapter has been quite enlightening. Drawn to its wireless capabilities, we decided to give this adapter a go. The unit itself is compact, boasting a modern black and orange design that fits unobtrusively into our car’s dashboard. Installation was straightforward: plug the adapter into the car’s USB port, pair it with your phone via Bluetooth, and you’re set.
The adapter’s functionality shines each time the car engine is started, automatically reconnecting to the phone without a hitch. This seamless integration allows for the use of satellite navigation and handling calls safely while driving, enhancing the overall driving experience. Additionally, the ability to customise settings, such as turning off notifications to minimise distractions, adds a layer of personalisation and safety.
However, it’s not without its shortcomings. A notable drawback is the incompatibility with the steering wheel controls for answering and disconnecting calls—a feature that works flawlessly with a wired connection. While not a dealbreaker, as calls can still be managed via the car’s touchscreen, the convenience and safety of using steering wheel controls would be preferable.
Another area for improvement is the user guide. The instructions come in an excessively small print, making it challenging to read and potentially frustrating for users seeking guidance.
In conclusion, while the wireless adapter presents a sleek, efficient solution to reduce clutter and streamline connectivity, there is room for improvement. Enhancing compatibility with existing car controls and revising the user guide to be more user-friendly would elevate this product from good to great. Nonetheless, overall, I am satisfied with the functionality and the clutter-free environment it provides.
Good wireless carplay adapte
This little adapter does what it says on the tin: turns wired carplay into wireless
Comes with a USB-A port, but includes a USB-C adapter too. The dongle itself is reasonably small so can be fitted easily around the usb port in the car. It also comes with a 3M tape to stick it on the dash where it wont rattle around.
As for usage, its seamless. Instructions is well written, and the device does what it says.
The only issue I’ve found is that the navigation app has to be opened from the phone first before it can be used on the car, otherwise it wont work. This was never a problem when the phone plugged in to the car directly.
Also, value will highly dependend on the current pricing.
