Absolutely Great solar charging CCTV camera
Great CCTV camera, easy to install, no wires or power to have to consider, compact with the solar panel being integrated in the top of the camera. No monthly fee to keep recordings if you install your own memory card. So far the battery life has kept up with its usage from the daylight. Footage is clear and no annoying “pre adverts” on the app before seeing the cameras footage unlike many nowadays. In today’s climate CCTV is an absolute must and this solar charging camera makes it easy and simple to have. Very impressed.

AOQEE Security Camera Outdoor Wireless Solar - 2K CCTV Camera System
    Pros:
    * Environmentally friendly: The solar panel ensures continuous power without the need for batteries or external power sources.
    * Wireless installation: Easy to set up without the hassle of running cables.
    * Motion detection: Automatically records when movement is detected, providing security and peace of mind.
    * Remote viewing: Access live footage and recorded videos from your smartphone through the wansview cloud app
    * Night vision: Clear images even in low-light conditions.
    Cons:
    * Solar panel limitations: The camera’s performance may be affected by weather conditions, especially during extended periods of cloudy weather or in areas with limited sunlight.
    * Storage capacity: The storage may be limited, requiring optional cloud storage or SD card for recording.
    * Initial setup: The initial configuration and connection to your network i found was very simple following the onscreen instructions in the app.
    Overall:
The solar-powered wireless security camera is a great option for those seeking a sustainable and convenient security solution. Its eco-friendly design and easy installation make it a popular choice.

A decent solar powered camera at a fair price.
First of all, I’ll just point out that its a 2k camera and not 4k, as we have come to expect these days. The reason is that the solar panel would need to be larger in order to keep up with higher resolution which would also result in heavier wifi transmission. So 2k is the best resolution for the size of the unit, and it is more than enough for most people who just want a basic security camera, although im sure there are plenty of other uses for it like recording wildlife, as you can place it anywhere as long as its getting a fair amount of daylight and is in range of your router.
The mobile app is used to control and manage the camera once its setup, and it offers a highly functional free-to-use service, with the option to record on alert/trigger if you have inserted a microSD card.
It also offers a premium cloud based services starting at 2.99 p/m. This ensures you dont have to worry about storage space, but it also means you’ll end up paying around 36 per year when you can buy a decent enough sized microSD card for significantly less. I recommend the Sandisk Extreme Pro 64GB microSD card, as it will be more than enough for a weeks worth of trigger event recordings (currently 8.20) but the camera will accept anything upto 128GB I believe.

The camera is water resistant (IP65) so it will withstand the weather, and has done for me so far during the last couple of weeks!

I found that the camera settings inside the app won’t take effect until a restart. So be sure to do this each time you change something. I also had to restart the camera before it detected the MicroSD card and then the record settings popped up.

The solar panel seems to keep the camera battery topped up even on the dullest of days. As long as you have set up the alerts properly and not left it set to trigger too frequently, you should experience the same results as me.

My only real fault with this product is that the apps recorded event timeline is difficult to navigate. I found myself scrolling for quite a while to find the exact time I wanted, and then it was a game of tapping the correct part of the screen to get the perfect start point for playback.
This function would benefit massively from a “snapping” option/toggle to make it easier to find the beginning of a recorded event.

I would also like it to be compatible with ONVIF so that I can connect it to my surveillance server, but the app has enough features to still make it very useful to me.

    Pros
    * solar power charging keeps up if recording/event triggering is configured correctly
    * fair wifi range that compares to the range of most mobile phones.
    * Good price for a decent starter camera
    * Easy and flexible mounting kit
    * SD card support upto 128GB
    * Night vision

    Cons
    * Does not charge from solar panel while camera is off.
    * No support for ONVIF functionality
    * Awkward playback interface
    * Not 4K

Overall, I was quite impressed with this unit, although I would like to see improvements with the app. I’ll be placing it outdoors to keep an eye on my back garden.

    Great outdoor solar camera
    Camera works great.
Easy to setup out of the box.
Followed the instructions with ease and set up in less than 5 minutes.
Great camera settings features on the app.
Detection works well, and light and siren work great.
    Nice clear picture.
Solar charges well even in shaded area.
Would not want to affix somewhere within reach as could be easily removed.
Fixing bracket not as sturdy as other cameras and difficult to get perfect view setup with no PTZ

Bought this camera to add to our outside security. One main feature was the solar panel on the top of the camera. This is a game changer and means you can leave in situ and not worry about it losing power. It is supplied with a charging cable should we have a long period without sun.
The camera itself connects using Wansview which I have used with my back garden camera. It connects really easily and the instructions are very easy to follow.
The notifications are very good and the resulting picture is very clear.
I would definitely recommend this outdoor camera to anyone looking for a static solar powered security camera.

Doing a great job! I would buy again!
Innovative outdoor surveillance camera with the thoughtful addition of a CCTV sticker. Quick and easy installation and connection. The adjustable stand is useful, though manually operated. High-quality materials, excellent picture resolution, and overall great value for money. Strong Wi-Fi connection, even at distances over 250 meters from the router. The camera is less suitable for indoor use due to its solar-powered battery. While a power cord is included, there is no adapter provided. The camera is stationary and controlled via the app, limiting mobility.
Placement options are restricted by the short power cord and the need for consistent sunlight for the solar battery.

Very good mobile solar outdoor camera.
The camera came well packaged, with everything you need in the box including a template for drilling the holes for the included bracket. There is also a little CCTV Warning Sticker for your window as well which is a nice touch.

The camera itself feels solidly built, and looks a little retro in shape due to the solar panel on top.

Once you remove the rubber bung (be careful the centre usb charge segment doesn’t fall out see pics) it’s very easy to switch on with your finger. Keep your finger on the button a little longer than you would think and it springs to life.

Setup is a complete breeze, make sure your phone is on a 2.4ghz WiFi network, show the camera your QR code from the Wansview app and your away within a few minutes of entering your WiFi password.

The main reason anyone buys this particular camera; the solar panel and battery.

The device came with about 93% battery already on board. I would guess it’s a 10,000mah battery judging by how long it’s lasted me (more on that later).

I initially had this camera inside my house by a window, and it used about 1% per day, it was getting some sunlight but not loads. This induced me messing about with the camera testing the siren and lights etc.

I’ve had it in a few positions, I tried direct sunlight for most of the day, but I couldn’t get a good view of what I needed. While it was in direct sunlight, the battery used about 2% per week.

I’ve moved it to an area which gets a fewer hours direct sunlight and mostly indirect (but not in the shade) and it’s using about 3-4% per week at most, but the angle on my garden and path is good. I just need to fix a block so the concrete post so I can elevate it and fix the location.

I’m about 3 weeks in, including all the testing and messing around the battery is on 79%. In that time I have used speaker to pass messages to people in the garden and watched the foxes etc but I would still estimate 6+/- months on a single charge, which is impressive.

The white lights are easily enough to light an area up about 6m away from the camera, and bright enough to deter people.

However the siren and speaker are sooooo loud. When testing the neighbours was looking out of their upstairs window, so that’s very good.

I quite like that even in the dark without the white lights on the IR sensors glow red. It’s like 4 red glowing eyes watching you.

I have the camera positioned about 12 meters away from my router and the signal appears to be solid (the app reports as Good). No lag or issues accessing the memory card or live view modes via the app.

The video quality is exceptional, I keep the app on lower resolution but when you swap it to 2k its crystal clear, especially the night mode infrared.

    Update: 11th October
The battery is down to 40%, in the more shaded area, the Halloween deco means the sun hits a little less, the garden has been more busy and bad weather, so in 6-7 weeks, it’s used about 50% including the testing and playing around.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat little security camera
Great little device. Compact and unobtrusive. Solar battery keeps charged up even on a dull day in Scotland!! Really handy to keep an eye on security in back yard. Easy to set up with varying levels of motion sensitivity to suit your needs. Light setting and siren extra facilities included in camera. Connectivity is great through wifi. Video quality is excellent with image being clear and bright even at night. Would highly recommend

Easy to set up & install, neat and self powered via sola
Like other recent security cameras running on the Wansview platform, this latest self-powered camera is simple and quick to set up, easy to use and provides good image quality.

I have one other solar powered camera, which has been great; this one is an even better design with the panel integrated into the case of if the camera itself, making a compact and fairly elegant package.

Image quality is good, with a 2k resolution and the ability to run at SD if bandwidth over WiFi is limited. I haven’t needed to do that, with the camera performing well up to 10m and several walls from my WiFi hub.
The image tends to be a bit ‘contrasty’ compared with some cameras, especially as ambient light levels fall, but it’s fine for it’s intended use. It operates fine in the dark via infrared, and can use built in lights if it detects movement. Pictures are at dusk, when I would want a torch to see by, without and with it’s built in lights on.

I really like that it detects whether motion is a person or not and you can set to only receive notifications about people, avoiding being pinged every time a car or bus goes by.

All in all a useful addition to our house security and not having to route power to it is a game changer. Good value too.

Security cameras are only as good as the controlling app and this one connects to the Wansview app, which is generally reliable and stable, offering a wide range of controls.

Connection to the wifi was easy, finding the signal with no problem. A huge advantage with this model is the solar panel, avoiding the problem of getting cables through walls. The panel works well, keeping a good charge even on rainy days.

Another advantage is that the solar panel is integrated, so there is only one fixing to make to the wall.

You can pay for a cloud storage subscription or take the DIY approach with an SD card. Maximum size is 128Gb maximum, which is plenty, and you can choose to record on a rolling basis, overwriting old files. After a day of working perfectly, the SD card was suddenly not recognised in the app, but reinserting it did the trick.

Picture quality is excellent, as is motion detection, for which you can choose the level of sensitivity. All in all, highly recommended, and a fair price for a brilliant piece of kit.
