Fiddly Controls if your not a surgeon...
Looks small for a 27 which is a plus and the quality at this price is great, my only quibble is the nipple style control under the bottom edge of the screen. If your going to put extra adjustable features on a monitor, getting rid of controls/buttons is doubling down on potential problems. This has got to be my least favourite control mechanism I’ve come across after 30 years in the industry. Don’t let engineers design consumer interfaces. And I speak as an engineer.
LG UltraGear Monitor 24GS60F, 24 Inch
As far as picture goes, this is a very good monitor.
Screen settings can be adjusted via a little “joystick” button underneath, an arrangement which does work but is quite difficult because of the location of the control.
This monitor has Displayport and HDMI sockets, But only one cable is supplied by LG — and it is displayport.
Since the motherboard of my new computer only has an HDMI port, it was necessary to buy the appropriate cable (so I bought a Southlight HDMI 2.1 Cable — which is good) … a pity the absence of such a cable with the monitor is not mentioned in its listing.
Subsequent update : no idea why, since it certainly did refuse to before (and that’s why I’d originally given only four “stars”) but happy to find that three weeks after arriving the monitor has now decided that it will tilt — as it should — after all.
Which means that it deserves a full five stars.
