Same size as Airtag, integrates well with android find device
Integrates well with the android find network, I like how it’s an identical size to Airtag as you can confidently buy accessories for it. Downsides are the ‘find Device’ network isn’t as widespread as apple’s, by default devices need to be seen by 3 different devices so updating it’s location is hit and miss, good in busy areas but very poor in quieter areas. Quite pricey for what they are, also battery in mine was low out the box which is disappointing for a brand new device. Software out of date so have to download another app to update it. Overall pleased there is now an Airtag alternative for android but the network especially needs improving before these are as good as apple’s offering.
Good hardware but android network dissapoints.
I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews on this tag. The problem is not with the tag, the tag is brilliant, the problem s with google/android Find My Device network. It sucks.
Works fine for me!
I noticed all the negatives reviews and dismissed MT as a viable option for tracking.
Forward to now, when I just had a panic where my bag was supposed to be in my car and it wasn’t. Looking at Find my Device, my MT was last seen 10 minutes ago and I’ve managed to leave it behind 4 hours ago.
IF YOURE READING THIS, CONSIDER CHANGING YOUR ANDROID Find my Device SETTINGS “With network in all areas”!!!
Works very well. Several location updates per hour today when testing in London. Ring tone is not as loud as id like but still should be loud enough. Would buy more!
Nice tracke
I pre-ordered my moto tag only 10 days ago, I wasn’t expecting it to arrive until October but it turned up today on 30 Aug.
I had already bought a Belkin air tag holder for it so I had that ready and waiting and it fits perfectly.
The device is well made and pairing was a breeze, just make sure your Bluetooth is turned on and pull the plastic tab out of the tag. A message appeared on the phone asking to connect and within a couple of clicks it was all done.
I tried it out in Google’s ‘Find Device’, and I installed the ‘Moto Tag’ app too.
It’s very intuitive and easy to use. I changed the name of the tag in ‘find device’ to “Car keys” and asked “Hey Google, where’s my car keys” it told me they were nearby, so I said “Hey Google, ring my car keys” and the tag started chirping so I could find them.
It also looks.like it would be easy to share it, so if for example you share keys or whatever with your partner you could both locate it if needed.
The ONLY thing that lets it down is that when trying to locate it with the app, it tells you when you are close, but it doesn’t point out the direction the tag is like the Apple Air Tag solution does, so you have to kind of scan the phone around with no clue as to which direction to go in. If it had that, I’d have given it a 5.
I went to buy a couple more but they seem to either be unavailable, or about 45 so I’ll just wait until I can get them for the normal price again (or cheaper 🙂 )
Bery happy with it and I want more.
