Very well optimized mobile as only has 4GB ram - Well done SAMSUNG
I am amazed at how SAMSUNG has managed to optimize this mobile phone to run so smoothly on 4GB of ram. In everyday use apps, it feels as snappy as my 12GB RAM Oneplus. Do not worry about it only having 4GB of ram as SAMSUNG have done wonders here. Updated to UI 8.5 and Android 16 and feels smooth opening apps and doing various everyday tasks. It also looks a lot more expensive than it actually was ( Paid 78.13 in June 2026 for it on a PRIME deal and included SAMSUNG official 25 watt charger and a SAMSUNG official card slot case ). At this price I cannot fault it. When you get it uninstall all the bloatware like Netflix and silly installed games and go into settings and remove silly things like SAMSUNG internet and other SAMSUNG stuff that you simply dont need and change permissions for other things to off and turn off privacy data being sent back to them. Well done to SAMSUNG with its optimization – incredible really. On checking RAM use it was showing that is was using around 2.8GB of the 4GB ram so there is space there for everyday tasks. The speaker is nice and loud and although mono has a good sound to it when playing music or using it as a telephone and loud speaker. Finger print sensor on side button works well.
Absolutely superb phone with everything you would need in a modern up to date form…fast response, great battery life, loads of space and clear defined graphics…also a fantastic camera with a multitude of iterations. Brilliant price for a lot of tech. Just buy it.
Bought this phone for my young son. Wanted a good phone but not spend hundreds of pounds. It is a great phone. Brand new and decent storage capacity. Battery life is really good too and apps are speedy when in use. Appearance is great and the phone feels well built and durable. This phone has everything a young kid should need.
I’m happy with the Samsung Galaxy A16 so far. The screen is bright and clear, and the phone feels nice to hold. The battery life is very good — it easily lasts me a full day without needing to charge. The camera takes decent photos, especially in good light, and the selfie camera is surprisingly good too.
It’s not the fastest phone in the world, but for everyday things like social media, calls, messages, and videos, it works perfectly fine. The fingerprint sensor works well most of the time, and the phone runs smoothly for what I need.
Overall, it’s a good, reliable phone for the price. Great option if you want something simple and affordable that still feels like a proper Samsung.
Bad news first – the charging cable – see photo – is NOT UK spec despite phone being sold as UK version. Its double ended USB-C. Useless in UK.
However, the phone itself is great. A BIG upgrade from my very old Honor 6A. Set up and data transfer were easy. Nice, clear UI. Huge storage at 128. Certainly fast enough tor me as I don’t Game. TV streaming not bad at all – YT, ITVX etc. Camera takes ‘OK’ photos but I’ve set mine to 12mb rather than 50 because I’m only really a Snapper and the old Honor was 12 anyway.
Phone volume on Speaker is very loud! Lol. Sound quality for music is the usual pants phone quality – use Bluetooth as there is no 3.5 jack.
I guess there are faster, cleverer phones out there with better cameras and more playthings but at this price point its a Winner.
Only 4 stars because of the ridiculous, useless, charging cable.
I love this phone.
I needed a 2nd device with a better battery for playing mobile games and some other tasks. I was originally looking into tablets but I couldn’t find anything that I like in my budget. My partner has the A15 version and I kind of liked it so I decided that I will get one of them instead. Strangely enough the A15 was more expensive than the newer version A16 so I went for it. I wasn’t really happy in the beginning cause I wanted a tablet and when I ordered it, it said that it’ll come in 3 days despite having Prime and it was my first time using Amazon. I ordered it during Prime day and the fun part was the next day (last day) was 14 off. Anyways, it arrived day earlier than it said and all in all it was great.
Now about the phone. Overall it’s a great one depending what you want and expect from it. For what I personally wanted it – it’s perfect.
The phone comes only with charging cable (USB C to USB C). Sadly there is no adaptor in the box, so you need to have one already. Also it does not support wireless charging. You can buy an extension for that but I am not sure how it works. However, the phone came pre charged (50%) and it took an hour to fully charge with the the provided cable and a 3rd party adaptor.
The battery lasts for a long time – I play on it all day and it basically didn’t dropped under 40% and when I leave it on over night it drops only 1% so it should last at least 2 days.
The phone itself is big (too big if you ask me for every day use) and is a bit heavy but is stable. It looks pretty well though but the back and the front catches very easily fingerprints so you need to have a case and screen protector for it or be prepared to clean it constantly (which I do). I didn’t included pictures but it looks exactly like the picture in the listing.
It does not have an earphone jack so you can only use it with wirelessBluetooth headphones or buds. I didn’t tested the sound quality of it but the A15 is great (for a budget phone) so I am pretty sure it’s good.
The screen is very good and clear. The colours are bit blue at the beginning but you can adjust how warm and vivid you want them to be in the options. Also the bezels are not too big but they are noticeable especially around the selfie camera but you can get used to it.
Speaking of cameras it comes with 3 in the back and 1 on the front. Didn’t tested them that much but they are good for this type of phone.
It was very easy to setup and start using it. A lot of reviews are mentioning that the phone is slow, but to be fair I didn’t notice that at all. For me it works pretty fast. However, I am coming from a Samsung Galaxy S8 (which I still love and use) and I am starting to enjoy the A16 quite a lot. I bet so that if you come from the latest models you can think differently about it but for its price it’s a gem. It also has a fingerprint scanner and you can unlock your phone like that which I found as a nifty upgrade from my previous one. How I mentioned, I play all day on it and use other apps and till now it’s been doing more than fine – we’ll see how long will be that though.
So if you need a pretty good phone (depending on your needs) for a good price don’t hesitate. I don’t think you’ll find better from an established company than it.
so I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy A16 for a little while now, and honestly, it’s pretty solid for what it is. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly phone that just works, this one’s a good option.
The screen is actually pretty nice — it’s bright and big enough for scrolling, watching videos, and all that. It’s not like flagship-level sharp, but for the price? Totally fine. It’s smooth enough for day-to-day stuff, though if you’re into heavy gaming or super fast multitasking, you might notice it lags a little sometimes. But for social media, YouTube, and messaging, it holds up really well.
Battery life is one of the best things about it — seriously, I can get through a whole day, sometimes more, without even thinking about charging. That’s a big win. The cameras are pretty basic but good enough for casual pics and selfies. Don’t expect super high-end shots, but they get the job done if you’re not super picky.
Build-wise, it feels decent in the hand — nothing fancy, but it doesn’t feel cheap either. Samsung’s One UI is super easy to use too, very clean and straightforward.
Overall, I’d say if you just need a reliable phone without spending a fortune, the Galaxy A16 is a safe bet. It’s not flashy, but it’s dependable.
