Basic, but usable
I am by no means an experienced solderer, but this kit was simple and easy to use, safely succeeded in my job
I feel the soldering iron rest is small, but it was good enough for me and worked fine and safely. It might be worth checking which way round works best for you – it isn’t overly obvious which way it is meant to go
Great starter for amateur use
If, like me, you do some occasional soldering and your skills leave much to be desired, this is ideal. Have used on a few occasions and it’s plenty to get the job done.
Temperature control is easy to use, it heats up fast and the kit comes with a few bits and peices to get you going, fluxed solder, clips, shrink wrap sleves, some different heating tips and a solder pump so you can suck up all your mistakes before anybody notices.
The iron itself a little on the flimsy side, the wire stripper doesn’t strip wires as thin as I’ve been using (teeth are a great backup) and the stand is lot on the flimsy side but it works.
Decent little budget kit really.
Very good kit, the soldering iron heats up very fast and you need to be very careful with it as I have burnt myself a few times with it, the holder for the soldering iron is a little flimsy/finicky, so I would not put too much trust in it. The included solder is very good as it included flux in the core, however it’s only 50g, so I would make sure to stock up on it. The included wire stripper is very poor if you deal with thin wires, as there is not much of a diameter choice, so I had to 3d print my own with a stanley blade. Overall it’s very cheap and would recommend, the included case for the kit is very useful for storing it.
