Does SoloCam E42 support 24/7 recording?
24/7 recording is supported in Direct Power Mode with a 5V/2A adapter and compatible cable (sold separately). When connected to a router, the camera requires a microSD card; with HomeBase 3, a hard drive must be installed in it.
What is the storage capacity?
SoloCam E42 does not have built-in storage. Storing recordings requires a separate microSD card (up to 128 GB) or connection to HomeBase 3.
Does SoloCam E42 support routers or HomeBase?
Yes, SoloCam E42 supports connection to a router, as well as HomeBase 2 and HomeBase 3.
How does SoloCam E42 deter intruders?
When an intruder is detected, SoloCam E42 will activate red and blue strobe lights and a siren. The user will also receive a notification on their phone.
Does it support smart assistants?
Yes, it supports Apple HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Assistant.

So easy to install, only took 20 minutes. Important, do the setup before you mount the camera, it’s just easier.
The picture quality is excellent and the motion detection works. As this unit has a rechargeable battery with a solar panel I am unable to judge the battery life as currently the unit is fully charged and being topped up by the panel but it’s early days and everything looks to be good.
I would highly recommend this product. As for the software set up and connectivity it’s very easy. I have downloaded the app on both my iPhone and iPad and I get notifications on my watch with a little thumbnail showing the event. For me this solution is perfect.

Ich habe dieses Set jetzt bereits zweimal bestellt. Einmal fr mich und einmal fr meine Eltern, nachdem es bei uns eine Einbruchsserie gab. Die Verbindung zwischen HomeBase und Kameras ist stabil und die Bildqualitt ist ebenfalls sehr gut. Die Kameras lsen zuverlssig aus und dienen nachts gleichzeitig als Bewegungsmelder. Der groe Vorteil ist, dass die Aufnahmen direkt im Haus offline gespeichert werden und somit nicht verloren gehen. Ich habe die HomeBase auch mit einer Festplatte erweitert, das funktionierte auch problemlos. Die Aufladung mit den Solarpads ist ebenfalls ausreichend und seit der Installation im Mrz sind beide Kameras fast dauerhaft 100 % geladen.
Ive had these for a month now. Work great. One at the front and one at the back of the house. The AI tracking, tracks you everywhere you go. Im having an issue with the notifications as my neighbour is never out of the front and rear garden. You can set privacy areas and select where it watches. After a lot of looking and reading I decided on this one. The special offer price was also a factor but I wanted a good 4k camera with smart tracking. Works like a charm. Really very good indeed. Tracks brilliantly and superb quality footage. A fair bit of lag and uploading delays but it’s no big deal. My Blink camera is live so no delays. I’m sure a good software update will fix these little issues. Overall I’d highly recommend this camera. Great quality unit. Easy to install and set up. I bought the corner wall mount as well, not from Eufy, just a random brand. Works really well.

I bought these for my house following some nefarious nocturnal activity in the area. These cameras are easy to set up and link to the base unit. Picture quality day and night is excellent. There are no ongoing fees. It is easy to access the video remotely. The solar panels do a great job of keeping the batteries topped up. After charging the batteries when I first got the cameras, I haven’t had to charge them again.

Honestly, I bought these expecting them to be about as useful as a solar panel in a cave—because, y’know, Ireland. But somehow, magically, they actually work. Like, the solar panels charge. In Irish weather. I don’t know what kind of witchcraft is in these things, but I’m not asking questions.
Setup was absurdly easy thanks to the HomeKit integration. I basically blinked at my phone and everything connected like it was 2099. I half expected Siri to bring me tea afterward.
Picture quality? Stunning. Like, “is that my face or a 4K rendering of regret?” kind of clarity. And the facial recognition? Incredible. It knows who’s at the door before I do. It spotted my brother and immediately judged him.
I ripped out my old Ring doorbell and tossed it into the sea (metaphorically mostly), because these are 100 times better. Maybe 150. Who’s counting.
Buy them. Especially if you live somewhere with clouds, rain, and the occasional appearance of the sun so, Earth.
Fantastic item. Bought this as an Amazon deal so saved money too. Best mounted on a corner so the camera can see along 2 sides. You can set a home position that they will return to after tracking movement. ( note: these will only pick up movement if the object can be seen by the front of the cameras as this is where the motion sensor is )
I like the way this uses AI to recognise people, pets,car motion or any other objects so these can be tailored to your needs regarding what you want to be triggered to record. You can alter the sensitivity of them from 1-7 to minimise false alarms. You can set recording duration from a few mins once triggered or to stop recording after the motion has stopped to save on battery life.
It generates AI tracking clips that merge footage of events from cameras that recorded the same movement. This is very impressive, as it has upscaled my 2c cameras included in my setup to provide motion triggers and footage too.
The night viewing is superb. Settings can be altered from Infrared only to floodlit which provides plenty of light on the area being recorded.
This replaced an aging Eufy set up that worked superbly but needed upgrading.
My only little niggle is the plastic brackets that hold the cameras is very flimsy and doesn’t provide a positive connection . They give you the feeling that they will fail in time!
I find myself attaching them and then checking several times to make sure the cameras don’t pull off!
You will need to extend the memory of the base unit as it only has 16GB ( around 14GB usable ) which won’t last long with 4k video capture. The upside to that is that a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive will fit within the base unit itself. 1TB for around 35-50 which is very easily formatted by the base station.
A well recommended purchase especially as once it’s fitted correctly with the included solar panels, it will work with very little maintenance to clean etc.
