What’s the difference between this Bullet-PTZ camera and using two separate cameras?
The two built-in cameras work together more intelligently than separate devices, providing both a full view and a detailed close-up from a single installation. Auto-tracking begins with either camera, then PTZ zooms in and follows the action.

How does Bullet-to-PTZ tracking work?
The fixed bullet camera detects motion and triggers the PTZ to rotate and zoom using AI tracking. If the bullet and PTZ angles differ, tracking handoff may be slower. For a faster response, point the PTZ toward your key area for quicker detection.

Does eufyCam S4 support 24/7 recording?
Yes, connect it to direct power (5V/3A adapter or higher) for 24/7 recording (requires camera version V1.0.5.4+). A microSD card or hard drive is required for storage (when connected to HomeBase 3, requires HomeBase version V3.7.2.8 or later).

Can it work standalone or with other Hombases / HomeKit?
It works as a standalone device (connected directly to your router) or with HomeBase S380 for more features.
HomeBase 2(Homebase S280) , Homebase mini, Homebase Professional, eufy NVR and Apple HomeKit are not currently supported.

Radar + dual lenses, for me give accurate driveway detection; best paired with S380 HomeBase.
I’ve been invested in the Eufy ecosystem for years after leaving a brand that moved to a subscription model. I now run 11 Eufy security cameras across the property, and the S4 Solar Bullet PTZ is the first model that fully solved a long standing weakness in my driveway setup.
My previous Eufy SoloCam S340 camera struggled with head on movement because it only had a PIR sensor, which detects heat across the field of view, not towards it. On my sloped drive, that meant it often missed vehicles and people. It is not the camera’s fault; it is just the wrong camera for the capabilities required to monitor this part of my property.
The S4 Solar Bullet PTZ, with PIR and Radar fixes this issue, thanks to its dual sensor system:
PIR + Radar (the winning combination for me)
* PIR detects heat but struggles with straight on movement.
* Radar tracks speed, distance, and angle. therefore, perfect for cars or people approaching the camera.
* Works in rain, fog, snow, and darkness.
* Can detect through foliage and thin materials.
The snapshot above shows why the S4 is ideal for my driveway, and would also work well for entrances and approach paths
Image Quality – The S4 uses a dual lens system:
* Upper fixed bullet camera: 4K wide angle.
* Lower PTZ camera: 2K close range tracking and zoom.
Together they give you a wide coverage and detailed tracking, both cameras have a F/1.6 aperture, which helps in low light settings.
Setup & HomeBase
I run everything through the Eufy S380 HomeBase, which I strongly recommend. It adds AI features, local storage, and system wide enhancements. Adding the S4 in the app is simple, and the settings (zones, sensitivity, lighting, privacy areas) become intuitive quickly.
Power
The included 5.5 watt solar panel has been excellent. You can also hard wire the camera, and the removable 10,000 mAh battery is a welcome upgrade.
Software Note
At the time of review, Eufy is experiencing temporary API software issues, which appear to be affecting Alexa Plus discovery for newer cameras. This is widely reported and I have no doubt will be resolved. it doesn’t affect the S4’s performance, or the security blanket it offers me.
Verdict
The S4 has completely fixed my driveway detection problem. It’s reliable, intelligent, and a major upgrade for anyone needing accurate tracking of approaching vehicles or people. 5-Star product review.

Premier avis, rien redire sur la camra qui fonctionne trs bien. Le panneau solaire n’a pas de difficult maintenir la charge par temps ensoleill. A confirmer avec un temps plus nuageux. Quelques petites difficults connecter la box 5G probablement dues cette dernire dont le Wi-Fi n’est pas stable. Cela dit pas de coupure ce stade. Amazing camera.the zoom is fantastic and the two cameras work well together.
The picture quality is first class and the solar cell is keeping it’s battery almost full charged and it north facing.
It uploads to our homebase and is accessible via the app with ease

Excellent and worth every penny. The camera is crystal clear and follows targets that come into its monitoring arc without fault recording a crisp clear video. I’m running on Solar but did purchase an extra battery, however the solar panel is that good its been keeping my battery topped up to 100% everyday even while there has been over 20 activations and recordings daily (probably didnt need the extra battery). The best Eufy has made so far. You wont be disappointed and if you value your security this is the camera to get, love it.
I originally had a problem with this camera where it would remain stuck in infrared night vision mode and would not automatically switch back to normal colour during the day, meaning I had to change the setting manually each morning and evening.
When trying to resolve the issue I contacted both Eufy support and Amazon, and initially it was a little frustrating being passed between support channels while it was worked out who was responsible.
Once this was clarified, the camera was replaced very quickly and the process was handled efficiently. The replacement unit works exactly as expected and now switches correctly between night vision and daytime colour.
The camera itself works very well and the video quality and performance have been excellent, which I’m very happy with.
My only small criticism is that the app could use a bit of improvement, as some settings feel a little scattered and can take a bit of time to find.
Overall, I’m pleased with the camera and with how quickly the replacement was arranged.
Honestly I love it, the auto zoom in feature is amazing. Picture quality is brilliant during the day and better than all the cameras I’ve had during the night.
The dual camera set up means I’ve got the whole street covered, and the movable camera tracks when the fixed camera detects someone.
Detection accuracy never misses anything either.
The solar panel charges the devices very speedily and while I’ve only had a few days with it I estimate the battery will last on solar panel.
Was easy to install and connect and while yes it is expensive, I think for what it does it’s worth it!
This is a very good camera, I hard wired the camera in because I live in a bungalow so it was easy to wire up. So I can’t comment of battery life with the solar panel. It was easy to install and connect to the WiFi. The App was easy to use and set up my preferences. The recording quality it excellent and the lower camera is very good following a person around the garden. Picture quality at night is very good. I especially like the siren and flashing lights you can set off if someone enters your garden.
I wish this was available when I had to put up cameras to the front and sides of the house because I would have installed these cameras all around the house.
After a spate of incidents around the neighborhood I decided to bolster the doorbell with some front and back drive cameras and so waited for the eufyCam S4 2-Cam Kit!
The dual camera setup works SO well!
Image quality is excellent! Sensitivity is accurate as is the tracking.
Each camera has a triple-lens bullet-PTZ hybrid design that captures ultra-sharp 4K video.
I bought a couple of brackets that fix around my drainpipes (so no driving for me!!). I’ve then attached the camera to bracket which made everything even easier to install!
Each camera also comes with a solar panel which after the initial charge has gone a great job of putting the power back to 100%
Everything feels like decent quality and like it has a dent chance of surfer quite some time!
Homebase that I have the two camera working together with the doorbell for great coordinated coverage.
Video Qualityis pretty decent with a 4K wide-angle at around 130 field of view, and pan and tilt camera that offers dual 2K resolution with 360 pan, auto-tracking and 8 hybrid zoom.
You can choose either colour or infrared night vision – both do a great job.
App has a lot of functionality/ options which can be fiddle. Easy enough to set up but a bit of work needed to optimize
Overall, very pleased and a massive boost to the feeling of security it gives
