Good quality made unit – yet to discover its longevity but was easy to install and set up and I like the option to have a warmer light. Once setup, not sure if I will need to use the remote again but for the price it was worth having it to save getting up and down a ladder to adjust timings etc.
Purchased to replace an old 500w halogen spotlight, this new unit uses only 1/10th of the power yet is extremely bright, the motion detection is superior and easily adjusted by remote control as can the lights brightness. The unit came with all fixings required to install it. It’s a good quality well made device, I’m very pleased with it indeed.
Why did you choose this product over others?:
I wanted two things – to have a warmer colour, and to control brigthness, so this seemed to fit perfectly compared to other security lights on the market. It also seems well made and looks very neat.
However, my use case is that I have garden lights on until late then I have the security light to come on when the garden lights go off (all controlled by Hive plugs). Unfortunately, this light flashes numerous times when it comes on, which I didn’t want to subject my neighbours to every night at midnight. No explanation why it does that in the instructions.
If you just want it on auto all night then the remote is a nice feature and the ability to dim and the other controls makes it a very good choice. Just didn’t work out for me.
Needed to replace an old Halogen PIR Security Light and, after serious research and reading copious reviews, I came across this Product and decided it met all my needs.
Initially I thought about buying one with less Watts, but since this one also gives the option to have various Brightness levels I could always make this one dimmer but not a dimmer one brighter.
Deliver was next day so pleased I didn’t have to wait long and the fist dry day I was up the ladder…
Item came well packaged but I was so surprised at the size and weight compared to my old Light. This thing is slimmer than an anorexic snake and feather light, which makes it easier to handle at installation compared to a bulky Halogen replacement.
I had to removed the attaching bracket to install as the light assembly would not tilt enough to screw the bracket to the wall. However, in doing so this actually made installation easier.
The attaching cable was long enough to enable repositioning but I decided to use the existing light location and screw holes in the wall which meant adding a junction box to safely connect the old external twin and earth cable to the light cable (see photos).
Once installed, the provided remote makes setup an absolute breeze. The provided instruction leaflet was enough to understand all the setting which work like a dream.
The Remote enables so many other options including Light Colour Temps (Warm, Natural & Cool) as well as Brightness (50%/75%/100%) and timer function. I only use mine at 50% light intensity, so as not to annoy the neighbours or passing aircraft, and this is more than enough to illuminate 40ft of garden.
All in all this LED Security Light was the easiest I have installed, has ample functions and is more than bright enough for purpose…let’s see how long it lasts in the UK Weather…
