Great quality camera
Purchased Tapo cameras before and the price and quality are great. The TC90 does not let you down. Great picture, easy set up and quality materials not like some other makes. Completely satisfied
Best teamed up as part of wider security offering
Great product with many happy customers.
As it’s just 2K it’s not as powerful in the zoom department as some of the other Tapo devices but the dual view makes up for that. I think it represents great value for money and now that it also works with the H500 hub you can use that for providing the AI facial recognition that is missing from the produc
Had Blink cameras for a while and became increasingly frustrated with the constant loss of connection, the need to buy overpriced specialist batteries, and motion detection that often failed to pick up someone standing right in front of the camera.
This camera has been outstanding and is replacing both a Blink static camera and doorbell that were, frankly, useless. The motion detection is incredibly sensitive if you want it to be, but you can also adjust exactly how much activity you want it to pick up.
Even in winter, the solar panel has kept the camera fully charged while running on the highest settings for everything.
Installation was also very straightforward and it comes with everything you need. You can either use an SD card for storage or pay a very reasonable subscription of around 29 per year.
If you’re just starting to look into CCTV for your home, this is a great option. There are no wires to run, and it’s far cheaper than installing a traditional DVR system or sticking with the Blink alternative.
The night vision is also excellent. It provides full-colour footage and works extremely well — you can clearly make out facial features both day and night.
Overall, this has been a massive upgrade from Blink. It’s reliable, easy to install, flexible to set up exactly how you want it, and offers excellent image quality day and night. For the price, it’s genuinely hard to fault and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a simple but effective home security camera.
captures and records peeps and cars reliably
captures peeps and cars no problem, which is just what we needed for our car park and alleyway
easy to set up, excellent pics, camera can format the micro mem card, 3m lead from 3pin charger plug to the camera
we bought two cameras, recommend you buy these, not the cheaper ones below:
previously tried ieGeek Magnetic Security Camera Outdoor Wireless and WUUK 2K Wireless Outdoor Security Camera
neither of those able to record cars reliably going in and out of our property, missed more than it captured, recorded pedestrians no prob, how can it fail to capture a car when it captures pedestrians ??!
tech support for either of the two above not able to fix the car issue, send them both back for a full refund
Easy setup and clear images
Tapo cameras are easy to use and setup. Ive fitted lots of these ,this one has the 2 cameras in one ,the pictures are as you expect from tapo ,looks a very well built camera ,all set up was easy linked straight away to the network. This is a great camera if you want one
frame to stay on one position and the other track something .This is the first one of this type ive fitted so time will tell but if its as good as the other tapo cameras there will be no problems . I do think this will be a good selling item
Fairly solid performer, but make sure it has a good wifi signal
The design of this camera is quite clever, the solar panel can either be mounted on the same mount as the camera for a simple installation – ideal if the camera is in a sunny location, or they can be mounted seperately with a decent length waterproofed lead and additional mount supplied so you can position the solar panel appropriately. Once the camera mount has been screwed into place the camera simply clips on and off it.
How well the solar panel works, I can’t really tell as we are in the depths of a British Winter at the moment. The camera is in a low traffic location with motion detection, motion tracking and person detection turned on and a wakeup sensitivity of 6, and and is currently dropping about 4% battery each day – hopefully that will turn around once the sun gets a bit higher.
The picture both day and night is decent but obviously not up with the 4K Tapo cameras. Motion tracking is also good and once a moving object is detected it is followed well by the camera.
WiFi, like the other battery powered Tapo cameras I have tested is rather disappointing – once connected you can get a steady and uninterrupted stream, but connection is sometimes quite difficult despite the camera indicating a string WiFi signal.
A cloud storage subscription is available and seems to work reliably or you can use a local microSD card to store clips if you prefer.
