Expensive but good clarity, especially in low light.
This is a basic web cam in all regards, except low light abilities.

It’s a open circuit board with long USB-A cable attached on a connector. You get very basic instructions (plug and play). It was immediately recognised by my Windows 10 machine without issues.

Image quality is quite good, certainly true 1080P resolution. You need to manually focus the lens by turning the outer barrel, which is firm and stays in place. Where it excels is in the dark. I was surprised how good it really was, I wasn’t expecting it to be as clear as it was. The picture in the review is inside a virtually totally dark pot, the worst it could really be, and it still managed to get an image, albeit with some noise.

Good if you really need low light images, otherwise it’s about 4 times too expensive.

    Brillia
Took about 10 minutes to set up with my Raspberry Pi 3a

    It works perfectly fine.
The corners of the image are crisp.

Surprisingly good image at night without any infrared. I can just set it behind the glass, in side the house, and records perfectly good security footage.

Brilliant choice at a good price.

    Incredible low light performance.
This has no be one of the more impressive USB camera modules I have seen. In terms of build quality it is very well put together and a quality bit of kit. It is just a lens mounted on a circuit board with a USB cable attached so for dedicated use some sort of housing maybe required. The camera itself is plug and play and worked without any issues on my Windows PC, MacBook and Pi. For general use it’s okay with a reasonable wide FOV. Where it excels is low light performance and it is capable of capturing a pretty decent image is near dark environments. Genuinely impressive and perfect for any DIY projects that may require low light capture. In summary and excellent camera module both in terms of overall quality and low light performance.

Brilliant low light performance and wide angle
The Starvis sensor on this camera module is absolutely amazing. I needed something for my living room that could handle very low light for an AI human detection project and this fits the bill perfectly. Even in near total darkness, the image is clear enough for the software to recognise humans in the room, which is fantastic for home automation. The 110 degree wide angle lens is awesome and manages to cover the entire living room from just one corner without much distortion. It was simple to set up and worked straight away as a plug and play device on my Linux system. The HDR is also really helpful during the day when the sun is shining through the windows as it keeps the picture from being washed out. The build quality feels sturdy and the module is compact enough to hide away easily. It is a massive improvement over standard webcams for this specific use case. Highly recommended!!
