Inexpensive CCTV camera punching well above it's weigh
This camera arrives in a light corrugated cardboard box with the standard GNCC branding. Finished in blue and adorned with a product photograph, descriptive text and relevant accreditation makes it suitable as a gift. Inside the camera, mount, and USB cable sit in a plastic vacuum formed tray, the camera particularly well cradled and in a further lightweight polythene bag. The mount and screws are contained in a sealed cellophane bag. A well written and illustrated multi-lingual instruction booklet is also supplied. The packaging materials are recyclable where we live, but not all local authorities recycle polythene.
This camera is fitted to the front of our south facing bungalow so we’re hoping for good things from the built in solar panel in terms of battery level. The camera is very simple, basically a rectangular box with a solar panel on top, a lens, LED and infra-red LED’s and a motion sensor on the front, a small socket and switch panel secured against water with a silicon lid underneath, and a tripod style screw thread on the rear to mount it. It also has the facility of two-way speech and a siren, not that it’s something I would use.
Installation is just a matter of 3 screws to secure the mount. The swivel mount allows for fixing to a wall or ceiling/overhang. I already have Osaio app on my phone so adding this second camera was a breeze, not that the first connection was difficult. These are some of the easiest camera connections I have made!
The picture quality is superb. Colour rendition is accurate, focus pin sharp and exposure very good – even between light and dark areas. The menu allows full control of so many parameters it’s untrue. From person detection to face detection to any movement, vehicular or even horse! Of course the more you choose to detect the higher the power consumption so fine tuning allows for the best balance to be achieved.
This is a feature packed CCTV camera with imagery that matches its features for detail and at a remarkable price point of 31.99 (March2026).
Une surveillance extérieure autonome et performante en toute simplicité
Cette camra solaire GNCC a radicalement simplifi la scurisation de ma maison, surtout grce son systme 100 % sans fil et son alimentation solaire intgre. L’installation m’a pris peine deux minutes, sans aucun cble tirer, et la batterie haute capacit assure un fonctionnement continu sans que j’aie me soucier de la recharge. C’est un rel confort de savoir que l’appareil est totalement autonome, rsistant parfaitement aux intempries avec son botier tanche IP66, tout en offrant une image 2K d’une nettet remarquable, aussi bien de jour que de nuit grce sa vision couleur efficace.
La gestion quotidienne via l’application Osaio est trs intuitive et m’apporte une grande tranquillit d’esprit. Le capteur PIR intelligent fait un excellent travail en ne m’alertant que pour les mouvements rellement suspects, vitant ainsi les fausses alertes inutiles. J’apprcie beaucoup la fonction d’audio bidirectionnel qui me permet de communiquer distance, ainsi que le systme de dissuasion par sirne et projecteurs, qui renforce concrtement ma scurit.

Die Kamera ist wirklich sensationell. Tipptopp! Ich hatte schon einige Kameras, aber keine war so stabil mit dem Internet wie diese. Ich kann diese Kamera nur weiterempfehlen. Top Qualitt, sobald man den Akku das erste Mal aufgeladen hat. Das kleine Solarpanel erledigt den Rest einwandfrei. Wie gesagt, dafr fnf Sterne. Ich wrde noch mehr geben, aber es gehen nur fnf.
Panel solar integrado, batería de 4000 mAh, buena imagen de 4MP, visión nocturna en colo
Cmara con panel solar y batera integrados, para vigilar exteriores sin necesidad de cables. Se ve bien construida para aguantar bien a la intemperie. A la vista parece ms un pequeo proyector que una cmara, as que no es muy discreta pero ayuda a disuadir.
La calidad de imagen es de 4MP y se ven bien todos los detalles y las caras durante el da. Por la noche da visin en color ya que cuenta con sus propios focos integrados. El ngulo que cubre es de 120 grados, una buena zona para no perderse mucho de lo que pasa alrededor. No tiene rotacin ni movimiento, es una cmara fija para situarla en la zona que quieras controlar.
La instalacin es simple y viene bien explicada en espaol en el manual. Es compatible con redes wifi de 2,4 GHz y tambin de 5 GHz. En la de 5 GHz la seal llega con ms fuerza y estabilidad aunque el router est lejos. Se maneja desde una aplicacin de la marca llamada Osaio, bastante fcil de usar y con todas las opciones necesarias para la configuracin y para ver la imagen. En la primera conexin tarda un poco en cargar la imagen, pero esto suele ser habitual en este tipo de cmaras. Es compatible con Alexa y tambin se puede integrar con Google Home.
Lleva un sensor de infrarrojos con el que detecta los movimientos de forma muy precisa y as se evitan las falsas alarmas provocadas por insectos, pjaros o ramas que se mueven con el viento. Si detecta a una persona puedes configurarla para que encienda los focos y active una alarma. Tambin tiene audio en dos direcciones para poder escuchar o hablar lo que sucede fuera a travs del mvil.
Al llevar una batera interna de 4000 mAh y un panel solar en la parte superior, no depende de enchufes. Con unas tres horas de sol al da puede funcionar de forma continua. Viene con un cable de carga tipo USB-C por si pasan varios das sin que el panel reciba sol y necesitas recargar la batera. Recuerda cargarla siempre por completo antes de usarla por primera vez.
Respecto al almacenamiento, se le puede aadir una tarjeta microSD de hasta 128 GB (no viene incluida) para guardar los vdeos de forma local. Tambin ofrece 24 horas de grabacin en la nube de forma gratuita para que pruebes el sistema de almacenamiento en la nube.
Es resistente al agua y al polvo (proteccin IP66), por lo que puedes dejarla expuesta al exterior sin preocupacin de que se avere. Solo asegrate de que la tapa de goma de los puertos est bien ajustada. Aunque est pensada para el exterior, se puede usar en interiores pero ten en cuenta que su panel solar necesita luz directa para recargar la batera.
Viene muy bien protegida en su caja, e incluye cable de carga, soporte de rosca, tornillos, tacos y un manual de usuario traducido al espaol.

Very good little camera, but needs stronger wifi reception than some
I’m very pleased with this camera; it peforms better than I thought would for just over 30.
The battery arrived with 30% charge and this didn’t improve on a bright but overcast day; however, it didn’t drop, either. I boost charged it via USBC and I haven’t needed to top it up since then, although the camera has been in multiple loctions, many indoors; the solar panel is enough to keep that charge topped up, and with the odd sunny day I can foresee no problems.
Image quality is good under daylight, camera-borne white light, and camera-borne IR illumination. Sensitivity of motion detection can be adjusted and is also good.
Connection to view live images on my phone was slower than other cameras I have dotted around. Once connected, though, the image was stable. However, outdoor connection was not so good; one foot indoors, excellent, one foot outdoors, no connection. I’m not blaming the camera per se; using a wifi analyser it seems that Derbyshire stone really interferes with wifi, and I was not achieving a stable connection outdoors. However, other CCTV units I’ve tested in the same outdoor locations did not struggle so much, and I can watch videos on my phone; this camera cleary needs a stronger, stable connection than others. If you know you have issues with wifi reach, this may not be the unit for you.
That aside, a very good little camera, and recommended.
Autonomía solar impecable y conectividad WiFi 5GHz: seguridad sin cables
Esta cmara de GNCC es una solucin excelente para vigilar zonas exteriores donde no llega el cableado elctrico. Lo que ms destaca es su panel solar, que mantiene la batera cargada de forma constante incluso en das con poca luz, eliminando la necesidad de desmontarla para cargarla. Adems, la compatibilidad con WiFi de doble banda (2.4G y 5GHz) es un punto muy a favor; ofrece una conexin mucho ms estable y fluida, evitando los tpicos cortes o el retardo al intentar ver la imagen en directo desde el mvil.
La calidad de imagen 2K de 4MP es ntida y permite distinguir rostros y detalles con claridad. La visin nocturna a color funciona realmente bien gracias a sus focos integrados, que se activan al detectar movimiento junto con el sensor PIR, minimizando las falsas alarmas provocadas por insectos o ramas. El audio bidireccional es claro, lo que permite hablar con alguien en la puerta o dar un aviso disuasorio, complementado con una sirena que se puede configurar para que suene automticamente ante intrusos.
En resumen, es una cmara slida con certificacin IP66 que aguanta perfectamente la lluvia y el sol directo. La integracin con Alexa es fluida, permitiendo ver la imagen en dispositivos con pantalla de forma rpida. Es una compra muy recomendada para quienes buscan una instalacin de seguridad “DIY” sencilla, efectiva y totalmente independiente de la red elctrica (salvo por el wifi, jeje), con una gestin de alertas muy precisa a travs de la aplicacin.

This camera ended up being better than I expected, especially considering the price.
The first thing you notice is that it’s quite bulky. It’s not a subtle little camera, but in a way that probably works in its favour because it’s very conspicuous. For a security camera that’s arguably a good thing, as it’s clearly visible rather than trying to hide.
Setup was straightforward and it connected to Wi-Fi without much trouble. It also integrated with Google Home easily, which was nice as I already use that for a lot of devices.
The solar panel seems to work reasonably well too. I didn’t fully charge the camera before installing it, and because I live on a very busy road the battery dropped fairly quickly at first due to constant motion triggers. After adjusting the settings though it improved a lot. Switching detection to “humanoid only” and lowering the sensitivity made a big difference, and now the battery holds up well with the solar topping it up. Do make sure you charge it to full though first.
You can receive notifications for every event, but I ended up turning those off because the street traffic was triggering too many alerts. The recordings are still available in the app if you want to check them later, so you don’t really lose functionality by disabling the notifications.
Storage options are flexible too. It supports both SD card recording and cloud storage, and even the free tier gives you access to cloud features. Personally I’ll probably switch to SD card only so everything stays local and I can avoid relying on the cloud.
The only small negative for me is the included mounting bracket. It works fine but pushes the camera quite far away from the wall, which makes it stick out a bit more than I’d like. I may end up making a slightly more low-profile mount to keep it a bit more discreet as it seems to use a normal tripod mount.
Overall though, for around 30 it’s a surprisingly capable camera with good features, decent image quality, and flexible storage options. It’s a solid budget option for basic outdoor security.
