Nice little camera, but only 2K

The camera body is compact and well built, with the USB port and controls tucked under a rubber gasket on the underside to keep weather out. Installation is straightforward thanks to the wireless design.

Software often makes or breaks cameras like this. FAMVIVA uses Septekon, a well-established app with positive reviews, and it doesn’t bombard you with ads or push to share data with various third parties. Trustworthy software is a big plus. The interface is fairly easy to navigate, although some features sit behind a paid subscription. Human recognition is included without extra payment, which is a useful one to have free since it filters out a lot of nuisance alerts from passing animals or shifting branches.

The 5000mAh battery is a decent size and holds up well even with little solar input. That said, video capture is power-hungry, so the camera can’t record continuously on battery and solar alone. The included solar panel is on the small side, so winter top-ups will be limited and you may need to bring it inside for a USB charge occasionally.

Image quality is where this one runs into competition. 2K is fine for general activity around the property, and the colour night vision and infrared modes both work as advertised. For identifying a face or a number plate, though, security footage benefits enormously from 4K, and 4K alternatives exist in this bracket. The PIR plus AI motion detection cuts down false alerts, the IP65 weatherproofing is solid, and the siren and spotlight add a useful deterrent layer.

Decent kit overall, with a trustworthy app and sensible build. The resolution holds it back from a higher rating.

The siren function is used sparingly, typically only when something triggers a stronger response setting, and the system then returns to passive monitoring without requiring further interaction.
