Easy to set up and use, no storage fees and impressive quality
After using this system for a while, what stands out most is how little attention it needs. Once everything was set up, it just quietly did its job in the background. The alerts have been reliable, and it’s reassuring knowing I’ll get notified if there’s unexpected activity around the house.
I also like that I wasn’t locked into a complicated installation process. Being wireless made placement much more flexible, and I could position the sensors where they made the most sense rather than where cables would allow. So far battery life has been excellent – I’ll keep an eye on it especially over winter when we have less sunshine.
The app is straightforward and easy to use. Checking the system status or reviewing notifications only takes a few seconds, which is exactly what I want to be able to check quickly. The image quality is much better than my current system which is about 6 years old now, the difference is really noticeable, especially the night vision.
I think this home security system feels like a good balance – it’s both capable and easy to live with, as well as something you can add to over time. If you’re looking for something practical that provides peace of mind without becoming a project in itself, this is well worth considering.
I’ll admit, hauling a ladder out to mount a couple of plastic security cameras isn’t my idea of a grand Saturday afternoon. Setting up the AOSU 2K Solar Kit, however, was surprisingly painless, just three screws per bracket, and you’re sorted. The build itself is functional but unrefined, leaning heavily on lightweight white plastic, but the real star of the show here is the power situation. To be fair, I fully expected a solar-powered camera to throw a tantrum the moment a typical dreary British cloud rolled over. Instead, the generously sized solar panels kept the battery completely topped up, even when the weather was doing its absolute worst. Living with it day-to-day is a massive relief, mostly because all the footage dumps straight onto the included 32GB base station. Skipping the sneaky monthly subscription fee tacked onto my bank statement is a serious win. Sensory-wise, the cameras feel reassuringly solid once locked into their mounts, though the initial pairing process had me fumbling with a very fiddly sync button that required a bit too much thumb pressure to click. The video feed is solid 2K, sharp enough to clearly read a delivery driver’s badge, and the motion detection zones do the job well. But here is the oddly specific thing you won’t find on the spec sheet: because the system records locally to the base station, when our main household power tripped last week, the cameras didn’t miss a single beat. They kept right on recording on battery power, entirely immune to the Wi-Fi blackout. My only real gripe is the app’s notification system; it can occasionally lag by a few seconds, meaning by the time you tap the alert, the postman has already tossed your parcel over the gate and walked away.
The Verdict
If you want robust, set-and-forget home security without a greedy subscription service draining your wallet, this kit is an absolute winner. It survives the elements and keeps recording when the mains fail. However, if you are a smart-home purist who needs instant, zero-latency alerts or deep custom integrations, you may walk away disappointed.

Die Ware wurde schnell und in sehr guter Verpackung geliefert. Leider haben Befestigungsteile fr die Kameras gefehlt. Meine e-Mail an den Verkufer wurde sofort sehr freundlich beantwortet und die Nachsendung der fehlenden Teile in Auftrag gegeben. Sie wurden dann ebenfalls schnell geliefert. Die Kameras sind schnell zu montieren und liefern sehr gute Bilder bzw. Videos. ber die App knnen sehr viele individuelle Einstellungen, auch fr jede Kamera separat, gemacht werden. Tolles Produkt in sehr guter Qualitt und damit die Sicherheit weiter erhht. Kundendienst ausgezeichnet, was heute keine Selbstverstndlichkeit ist.
Impressive image quality top marks!
I’ve been really impressed with this two pack of solar 4K CCTV cameras. The overall build quality is excellent and everything feels sturdy and well made. I also like that the wireless storage hub is compact and discreet, so it doesn’t stand out too much sitting on my side.
The app is simple to use and lets me check the cameras from anywhere, which is incredibly convenient. The 4K picture quality is outstanding, with sharp, detailed footage both day and night.
The solar panels are generously sized and keep the cameras running reliably, which means they continue recording even during a power cut. That extra peace of mind is a huge plus.
Installation was straightforward and both cameras connected without any issues. While they’re a little more expensive than some alternatives they more than justify with the quality, reliability and image clarity. Ottimo kit di videosorveglianza solare: semplice da installare e molto affidabile
Ho preso questo kit AOSU con due telecamere e pannelli solari per sorvegliare il giardino e l’ingresso di casa. L’installazione stata semplice e la configurazione tramite app richiede solo pochi minuti.
La qualit video in 2K QHD molto buona, con immagini nitide e dettagli ben visibili sia di giorno che di notte. Ho apprezzato particolarmente il sistema di alimentazione solare: i pannelli separati permettono di posizionarli nel punto pi esposto al sole e finora non stato necessario ricaricare manualmente le batterie.
Molto utile anche la base con memoria locale integrata, che consente di registrare senza dover sottoscrivere abbonamenti cloud. Il rilevamento delle persone preciso e le notifiche arrivano rapidamente sullo smartphone, con pochi falsi allarmi.
Le telecamere sembrano robuste e resistono bene alle intemperie. Nel complesso si tratta di un sistema completo, pratico e affidabile per chi cerca una soluzione di videosorveglianza wireless con alimentazione solare e senza costi aggiuntivi.
Brilliantly simple setup
This security camera kit gives a strong “set it up and stop worrying about it” impression right from the start. The solar-powered design is a big win for convenience, since it reduces the need for constant charging or cable management. Once positioned, it feels like a fairly low-maintenance system that quietly keeps an eye on things in the background.
The video quality is clear and detailed enough for everyday home security use, with the 2K resolution making it easier to pick out faces, movement, and general activity around the property. Night vision performs well too, especially with the full-colour mode, which adds a bit more clarity and context than standard black-and-white footage.
Detection features feel responsive in normal conditions, with motion alerts picking up movement reliably thanks to PIR and AI support. The sound and light alarm adds an extra layer of deterrence, which is useful if you want something that actively discourages unwanted visitors rather than just recording them. It strikes a nice balance between monitoring and acting.
Storage without a subscription is a strong point, and having local storage with decent capacity makes it feel more self-contained and cost-effective long term. Very easy set up for this, the base just plugs into your router with a cable. After this sue the QR code and download the app, no subscription which I feel is a huge selling point for this. You then just set up your cameras. not a lot of fuss with this and the 3m cable to connect to the solar panel gives you a decent amount of flexibility when positioning them in the right place to charge. Did not have any issues pairing these which was a major consideration for me – I just want things to work easily.
The quality of the recording is excellent, coloured night vision was a real surprise as it works so well and the app is very easy to use. I like the back up storage as well, the SD card is included for a change.
I found this to be a really decent set up, easy to use and you get two really good cameras for the money 199 at the time of writing. You can add other cameras to this set up and you are told which ones are compatible in the FAQ’s
Really useful easy to use cameras
We bought this camera kit to keep an eye on the house while we’re out and it’s been a great addition. The setup was easier than expected, and the solar panels mean we don’t have to worry about constantly charging the cameras.
The picture quality is really clear, and it’s easy to check what’s going on through the app. We get alerts when someone comes onto the drive or walks up to the front door, which gives us extra peace of mind. Night vision is surprisingly good too, and the spotlight is a useful feature.
One thing we really like is that there’s no monthly subscription needed to store recordings. Everything works well together, and the app is simple enough for the whole family to use.
Overall, it’s been reliable, easy to use, and does exactly what we wanted. For anyone looking for a straightforward home security system without ongoing costs, we’d definitely recommend it.
Great starter kit which can be easily expanded
I ordered this as a couple of outdoor cameras are now over 10 years old and although supported still, are lacking in sharpness and probably suffering with weather fatigue.
This arrived well packaged in its own branded box, which would be ideal for gifting to someone with a new home.
With this configuration you get 2 IP65 rated, 2K solar cameras and the internal base unit which can connect directly through ethernet to your router. There is a 32GB card included and it is expandable to 1TB. Set up is easy and the instructions are clear and all templates are supplied for easy positioning. Having solar powered cameras allow you to mount these in more remote areas, where power supply is an issue like summer houses or garages etc. The cable (USB-C) is long enough on the panels to stretch around corners to get maximum sunlight throughout the day, but of course you will need to be able to connect the cameras to the base unit.
With the app is downloaded it is very easy to connect the base unit and cameras once they are powered up. I would recommend making sure everything is working well at close proximity before putting the cameras in remote places. A light and alarm can be triggered from the camera to warn intruders. There is also two way audio with voice modification for added security.
There was adequate charge on my cameras to install and run with no problems however, this was during the bank holiday where we had a lot of sunlight. These can be charged via a USB-C cable if required before mounting. Also under the silicone cover is a SD card slot to save locally and an on/off and reset button. If you are saving on the camera, then be aware that these may be easy to steal – losing your data with it. Of course storage on the home base is the better option (or both!). On the app, you can view 4 cameras at once and you can expand the number of cameras (and storage) as and when it suits you.
The main feature for me is that there is no subscription fees. With this, the only extra expense is adding more cameras to the system. You will need to double check before buying extra as only some models are compatible. You can however get various options of 2, 4 and six cameras giving you economy of scale. The support seems good at the moment with firmware updates being automatic but I cannot vouch for longevity of support like most other cameras I own.
Overall the quality of the playback and ease of use makes this a good buy for someone starting out with security cameras.

The biggest advantage is definitely the subscription-free local storage system, which avoids the ongoing monthly costs required by many competing security camera systems.
I especially liked the included aosuBase hub since it centralises storage and camera management into one system, making multiple cameras easier to monitor.

I was pleasantly surprised by the full-colour night vision, which delivers much more useful nighttime footage than traditional black-and-white infrared cameras.

Muy bien para no complicarnos la vida
Nos encontramos ante un pack de videovigilancia compuesto por dos cmaras, dos placas solares y una centralita (base). Es una solucin fantstica para montar un sistema de seguridad domstico sin tener que complicarse la vida tirando metros y metros de cable por la fachada o el patio, y sin hacer un desembolso exagerado.
Presentacin y Ecosistema:
El producto viene muy bien embalado, con las cmaras, paneles y la centralita perfectamente protegidos. Un punto muy a favor desde el principio es su compatibilidad con Alexa y Google Home. No estamos atados nicamente a la app del fabricante, lo que nos da mucho ms juego para integrarlo en la domtica de casa.
Calidad de Imagen y Deteccin:
Cuentan con un sensor de resolucin 2K, una calidad decente y ms que suficiente para el usuario domstico. Permite ver con claridad lo que ocurre y captar detalles si hay algn infortunio. El sensor de movimiento PIR funciona bien y la app te notifica al instante si entra algn “inquilino no deseado” en tu propiedad. Adems, el chasis tiene certificacin IP65; no se aprecian fisuras ni fallos de diseo por donde pueda entrar agua, por lo que es un equipo que debera aguantar a la intemperie unas cuantas temporadas sin problema.
Alimentacin Solar y Mantenimiento:
El hecho de ir por energa solar es su gran baza, pero hay que instalarlas con cabeza. Es vital orientar bien las placas aprovechando su soporte rotatorio para maximizar las horas de sol; no las pongas en un patio interior con sombra constante.
Un par de consejos de instalacin: Si vives en una zona de nevadas frecuentes, no aconsejo poner los paneles, o en su defecto, dales una inclinacin muy oblicua para que la nieve descargue bien. Por otro lado, en pocas de calima, es muy recomendable darles un manguerazo de tarde en tarde para limpiar el polvo y que no pierdan eficiencia de carga.
La Centralita y el Almacenamiento (Lo mejor del kit):
La base incluye 32 GB de almacenamiento local preinstalado. Bravo por esto! No hace falta pagar ninguna suscripcin mensual en la nube para ver las grabaciones. Adems, incluye una ranura para ampliar con tarjetas microSD de hasta 1 TB.
A nivel de red, la base trae un puerto Ethernet a 100 Mbps. Recomiendo encarecidamente conectarla al router por cable siempre que sea posible. Te evitas problemas de cortes o saturacin en el Wi-Fi y garantizas una conexin mucho ms estable. Los 100 Mbps son ms que suficientes teniendo en cuenta el nivel de compresin de vdeo que manejan estas cmaras. Por ltimo, si necesitas abarcar ms zonas, el sistema es fcilmente ampliable adquiriendo ms cmaras del fabricante.
Conclusin:
Me parece un producto muy completo y redondo para el usuario domstico que busca tener su casa controlada de forma fcil, sin pagar cuotas y sin obras. Lo recomiendo sin dudarlo.
