I installed it outside to keep an eye on the garden and entrance area, and it has been easy to check what’s happening from my phone whenever I need to. The image is clear, even in the evening, and the alerts are useful for letting me know when someone or something is detected. I like having the two-way audio feature as it means I can communicate without needing to be right by the camera. It feels well built, has handled the weather well, and has become a useful part of my home security setup.

I already have an IMOU indoor pan and tilt pet cam which I have been thoroughly delighted with. I ordered this camera for use at the back of my house covering the rear garden. I already have a couple of static solar cameras out there but they are static and don’t record 24/7 as they are solar, therefore only rcord when movement is detected.
This camera has not disappointed, chuffed with my pet cam, this camera has continued my faith in IMOU.
The camera is easy to mount and install. I have mine connected via WiFi. The cable connection for power is good and is easily extendable, but just for good measure I sealed to make sure there’s no water ingress.
The pan and tilt is very quiet and the picture quality is real good and clear day or night. Daytime footage is recorded in colour whilst night time footage can be recorded in constant colour if the spot lights are allowed to remain on, or it can be set to run in night vision infrared which is black and white, then when motion is detected the spots will illuminate and it will record in colour, or constant night vision infrared black and white can be chosen.
The spot lights are really bright and can serve as a deterrent if on all night, or a warning if allowed to activate though movement detection. I really like the red and blue LED’s that flash as a warning too and can be accompanied by a siren or a sound of your own if uploaded.
The motion tracking works really well and if I’m out of the house, I get notifications of movement and can watch it tracking my dogs who have decided to go outside.
The app in my opinion is fantastic, easy to use and quick to load up and respond, even on my old mobile which is seven years old, whereas some other cctv camera apps I’ve used are really laggy and take forever to connect to the cameras on my old phone.
Footage can be recorded to a micro sd card or the cloud if you take out a subscription.
There are plenty of detection setting options even including line crossing, whereby one can place a line on the image so detection will only activate if that line is crossed by a person, car, child or animal.
Overall I’m really really delighted with this cctv camera, and it has lived up to my expectations of IMOU products. With one app I can now monitor my dogs inside and outside very easily. I’m so happy with it that I’m going to get the 3k version for my front garden, 3k as there is more distance to cover.
I conclusion a great budget friendly camera that offers great performance and clear images, with easy set up and easy to use app.
Clear outdoor monitoring
The camera is positioned near the entrance where we wanted a better view of what happens outside without relying on indoor lighting. The image is clear enough to recognise movement around the driveway, and the colour night view has been useful when checking clips after dark. Setting it up took a little time, but once connected it became part of our normal home checks.
The alerts are helpful for filtering out some unnecessary activity, especially with passing vehicles and people being the main things we wanted to notice. The two-way audio has also come in handy for speaking through the camera when a delivery arrives. After several days of use, it has become a quiet extra layer of awareness around the house.

This is my 11th Imou camera, and I genuinely love them all. The build quality is excellent, and the image is sharp and clear both during the day and at night. Setup is quick and straightforward, and the app is easy to use, making it simple to manage multiple cameras. It feels very reliable, with strong Wi-Fi connectivity and a solid weatherproof design that holds up well outdoors. I bought this to add to my other Imou cameras, and it connected without any problems. It integrated straight into the app, so I can view all my cameras in one place, which makes keeping an eye on the house much easier.
The picture quality is excellent, even at night, and the pan and tilt feature covers a much larger area than my fixed cameras. Motion alerts have been reliable without too many false alarms, and the two-way audio is a handy bonus.
For the price, it’s fantastic value and works perfectly alongside my existing cameras. Easy to set up, great performance, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking to expand their home security system. Only downside is having to pay more per camera added to the plan on the app.

Well, I’m really impressed with this. I’m already a huge fan of Imou cameras and have 3 covering the outside of my house (2 at the front and 1 at the rear) plus we bought another to keep an eye on my mother-in-law’s house as she doesn’t do tech.
Each camera they come out with has different features and this is a new one. All 4 of our cameras are different to this and range from earlier models to the newer ones with 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi, better LED lighting and ai features.
This cam is really good value for 39.99 at the time of review. It does have 5ghz WiFi 6, which is far superior to the older 2.4ghz cameras. The strength and range is better.
There’s no external antenna on this camera, however this makes it perfect to install on a wall or ceiling. For me, it’s gone on the wall under the ceiling of our porch canopy. It’s perfect as it tucks away neatly in the corner and covers the front doorstep, cars and steps perfectly, working excellent alongside the existing cameras. The base is fixed on this one, unlike others that have a removable mount. It also has a larger footprint, however I found this easier to install in some respects.
The 3mp camera quality is excellent, with a good wide view, colours and lighting. The auto tracking features work well and the camera is completely quiet in operation, even when tracking. The dome-like shape helps make it more discrete.
This is simple to install. It’d effectively plug and play. The app also automatically detected the camera, then you simply scan the QR code on the side and input your WiFi password.
The LED lighting is also good and the additional red and blue flashing mode works well. It’ll only work as an alarm though as there doesn’t seem to be a button to simply activate it like the spotlight.
This integrates well into the app, like my other cameras. There’s a massive amount of settings to explore and you can set notifications and recordings to suit your needs.
Definitely recommended. Excellent value too.
There’s loads of ai settings and a free trial of cloud recording to get you started. I subscribe to a multi camera package, so will be adding this to it.
