Incredible quality. really exceeded my expectations. Simple design and ready to go out of the box with included battery’s for both the remote and alarm. Came with 3 different mounting options ziptie, adhesive or screws which really shows that they care for the product. Impressive sound and easy adjustments to volume. Would 100% recommend this is a quality buy. Just to mention I bought two different door alarms at the same price to compare and this came in a proper box and not just some cheaply made brown box with everything rammed in.
Interesting Variations... WOKE ME UP messing!
For the most part, I really like the flexibility of all the variations here…
Certainly when I turned the unit on for the first time, and tried to set it up, it really WOKE ME UP with its scream… Even the kids downstairs yelled “WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?” because it was so loud. Check: it does work as an alarm!
Installation and setup, tho… not quite as easy as I’d like. It’s got some complicated “press this, do that” modes to get it into the security mode I was looking for… Initially, I was just seeing if I could get it to me a basic “open the door and beep” type mode… rather low security, but high visibliity.
But I ended up getting it into HIGH SECURITY mode instead, so when I “opened the door” it screamed like a banshee and I hadn’t yet learned how to silence it, so I was just pressing everything I could while holding my hand over the speaker. Speaking of which… as a security devce, it’s odd that i would be able to pretty much disengage the threat announcement simply by pressing my palm over the speaker unit. But that works quite well.. such that it’s no longer audible downstairs, even on highest volume!
The housing of the unit seems quite well-constructed, of quality materials that stay in place and make the unit fairly substantially durable. That’s good.
And for the record… once I actually READ THE MANUAL… I was able to figure out the basic operations. Most important button is probably either the EMERGENCY (lightning bold) button, or the SILENCE/DISARM (unlock) button, depending on whether you’re looking for the unit to SCREAM in an emergency; or SHUT UP if it’s gone off by mistake.
(As I said, my initial testing caused me to press all the buttons looking to SILENCE it, and I finally hit the right one. but not before my ears really ached from the wrong move!) it’s really loud!
But…I also learned I an press the “ACTION” button on the main unit and step thru 4 levels of volume control, too… so now it can be set into low level “hotel room” alert mode… (as in: Let’s not wake up the entire floor… just the room’s immediate occupants!)
Anyway… all in all a pretty adaptable and useful screamer. If I can remember how to use it, Ii think I’ll really like it!
