Didn't come in plastic it came in bag
Normally good locks in plastic cover. Bit more expensive but piece of mind and if someone tries it has a few features to slow them down as have locks already. Very effective visual deterrent better than most barrels . It will definitely slow a thief down. But if willing to pay silly money you can get what is called a diamond magnetic barrel it’s the most secure type I know of but it also comes down to the mechanism and door as I have steel plate and it locks top bottom and both sides. So something to look at. Most are 95 or 100 mm in length it’s if it will pass through handles I have to take off handles it’s safety feature. I used to work for security company that’s why I know so much. I know more but will not say. For security reasons. But that’s main issues to look at. Hope that helps. It has security problems maybe just the one as unusual it came in bag rather than plastic and normally plastic from b&q etc. Normally very good lock I had to bin recycle the one I got as bought as spare the codes were wrong and a safety feature I will not say because if someone has well the world can be a bad place. But I have on house and if you look at genuine and normal barrel you will see a very big difference in quality. They are normally very good when bought with yale handles and look for diamond on barrel what happens when lock is attacked it brakes on purpose at specific point and then thief can’t get open. If they are fitted correctly. As Amazon didn’t dispute what I explained and the locks are normally very good I will raise stars thank you Amazon.

Good product, easy to fit, I did this myself. Remember not to throw away the card that comes with it as this is the only way you can get extra keys cut!
Really high quality product with a nice fit and finish. It’s the first time I’ve used a key like this but it feels very strong compared to the usual stamped key. Installation was pretty easy, took a lot of jiggling to get the old cylinder out though!

A good deal from Amazon for the basics. This was an easy lock to fit and we feel secure that it’s pick proof, drill proof etc. What let’s it down is the miserly number of Yale keys supplied. To buy extras from Yale direct would have cost 12 per key. Luckily I found an alternative website charging less than half of that for exactly the same thing. The lock kit itself only cost 30 or so, therefore, it seems like the lock is free and you pay for 3 keys. This is not a reflection on Amazon at all, but the exorbitant cost from Yale.
Few buglaries in the area prompted a review of our locks.
No idea there was anything other than the standard barrel that came with door.
So these 3 star jobies are an huge improvement.
Easy to fit. You just (sometimes) need to file a tiny amount to get the dimples
through, but the dimples are a security feature so worth the tiny amount of effort.
Be sure to measure up correctly.
Now fitted throughout the house. ABout 15 mins per door to fit.

Have similar locks on the front door but bought this for the patio. They really are one of the best locks out there. Installation can be a bit of a fiddle depending on your set up but if you have a small metal file (like the kind you’d break out of prison with) it should be fine.
The thing is really good quality and is ideal given that crime levels are rising. The good thing too is that the keys come with coded locks so you can reorder online and if you lend a key to someone they should not be able to get one cut!
Very good product and well priced compared with the standard DIY stores.
