Simple set up and intuitive to use.
Brilliant. So easy to set up and install. Was pleased that I was able to turn roaming off as didn’t want to upset neighbours and it might have picked them up in their own gardens. Great being able to look around my garden, though, keep an eye on the shed. I am notoriously impatient with tech but this device is so intuitive and simple to use. A must buy.
Very easy to install and connect to the app. It’s good value – No monthly subscription if you use a memory card. You do need reliable WiFi connectivity though. I use it to monitor a wildlife pond and it captures any movement reliably. There are lots of settings on the app to monitor your recordings and change the settings to improve image quality. You can view the images in real time on the app. So far the battery usage is about 1- 2% a day but this increases markedly if you live stream the CCTV. I would prefer a removable battery (like the Tapo doorbell) but you have to remove the device from its mount to charge the device.
I have used the Tapo C400 model for just over 2.5 months now and have found it to be excellent value for money. Mounting instructions are simple and the overall manual on how to operate the camera is efficient to ensure you have a quick yet proper setting up process. You are given a complimentary 30 day free trial of Tapo Care which enables you to use enhanced features of the camera and additional product support. The general motion detection and AI detection is plentiful adequate to recognise the appropriate movement or people that make visual contact with the camera and sensor – though there can be occasions where it can miss a few things you would expect it to detect, though this is not a frequent occurrence. You can adjust the distance of which different detections are found and can adjust the camera’s visual quality and other standard aspects of the CCTV operation enhancement. It is entirely battery powered which eliminates the process of having to connect cables or to use a solar panel, just be cautious that if you have detection set on a frequent basis that the battery will deplete fairly quickly, but a full charge only takes around 4-5 hours and with moderate use can last up to a few weeks without any issue. Connectivity is reliable so long as you have 5ghz wifi capability, but is also sufficient if you are limited to 2.4ghz also. Overall I would highly recommend this!

J’avais quelques doutes avant l’achat, notamment sur l’autonomie d’une camra alimente par un panneau solaire. Finalement, je suis agrablement surpris.
Mme aprs plusieurs jours de mauvais temps et de pluie, la batterie conserve une trs bonne autonomie. Je n’ai jamais eu m’inquiter de devoir la recharger manuellement, ce qui est un vritable confort au quotidien.
La qualit d’image est trs satisfaisante, de jour comme de nuit, avec une vido nette qui permet d’identifier facilement les personnes. La dtection fonctionne bien et la connexion Wi-Fi est galement trs correcte. Malgr son installation l’extrieur, la camra capte parfaitement le rseau et reste fiable.
L’installation est simple, l’application Tapo est intuitive et les nombreuses possibilits de paramtrage permettent d’adapter facilement la camra ses besoins.
Aprs plusieurs mois d’utilisation, je ne regrette absolument pas cet achat. Si vous hsitez cause de l’alimentation solaire, je peux vous rassurer : dans mon cas, elle s’est montre trs fiable et totalement autonome. Je recommande cette camra sans hsiter.
For the price I wasn’t expecting too much, but having had this camera installed in my back garden for a couple of weeks I’m impressed. Good quality video and the battery is still at 80+%. If you want a good, no frills camera that works with Alexa then this is worth considering. I would be happy to purchase another one of these.

Cercavo una soluzione di videosorveglianza da mettere sulla facciata di casa senza dover fare lavori di cablaggio e questo kit risponde bene all’esigenza. Il punto di forza principale l’autonomia: la batteria da 6400mAh dura fino a 180 giorni con una singola carica, e il pannello solare incluso — realizzato con celle in silicio monocristallino — mantiene il livello di carica costante sia nelle giornate di sole (ma anche durante i giorni grigi o di pioggia il livello di carica si sempre mantenuto al massimo), azzerando di fatto la necessit di staccare la telecamera per ricaricarla.
La risoluzione 2K a 3MP garantisce immagini nitide sia di giorno che di notte grazie a un’apertura generosa e ai faretti integrati che permettono la visione notturna a colori fino a 9 metri. Non il solito infrarosso in bianco e nero — i dettagli si vedono davvero.
Lo storage flessibile: si pu usare una microSD locale fino a 512 GB oppure il servizio cloud Tapo Care con cronologia dei clip fino a 30 giorni. Il rilevamento intelligente delle persone riduce i falsi allarmi il che nella pratica significa notifiche pi sensate e non continue per ogni cosa. La certificazione IP65 la rende adatta a pioggia, polvere e sbalzi di temperatura e la staffa ad angolazione regolabile facilita il posizionamento sia a parete che sul tetto. Oltretutto il lungo cavo di collegamento tra telecamera e pannello permette di fissare i due elementi anche separati tra loro (magari per ottimizzare la quantit di luce solare ricevuta).
Un’avvertenza pratica: come tutte le telecamere a batteria, registra solo brevi clip quando viene rilevata un’attivit non in continuo — il che normale per questa tipologia di prodotto ma vale la pena saperlo. Inoltre, per installazioni lontane dal router, pu valere la pena valutare un ripetitore Wi-Fi.
Nel complesso un kit completo e ben pensato, con un’installazione davvero rapida e un’app intuitiva per la gestione da remoto.
Complimenti a tplink che sta creando un ecosistema di prodotti a marchio Tapo davvero completo e di qualit. Ovviamente il prodotto compatibile con Alexa quindi se avete un Echo con display possibile visualizzare lo stream della telecamera.

I bought this to install at the front of my house. I have other Tapo cameras so setup was easy. Just connect to network and the app does the rest. Its good quality and I would say its value for money based on what you get. Yes there are cheaper alternatives but this camera and the app are excellent. Battery life is excellent as the solar panel tops up during the day and even after 2 months of Use in NI weather its still at 100%. Motion detection is good but needs to be setup right. Connectivity is excellent through the app and links to Alexa seamlessly. I have opted for a 128gb micro sd card as opposed to any cloud service but this does not detract from the quality of the camera. Its a good camera.
I bought it to replace Blink camera which started frequently lose connection to my WiFi. It holds charge well with the solar panel, although it has been pretty sunny recently so I’m unable to say what it will be like in winter. Setup was easy, there’s a sticker that guides you where to drill and the app setup was straightforward. It seems well built, has some weight to it so the fittings have to be installed well enough to hold it. Detects well with options for sensitivity and optional alarm on detection. Great to be able to remotely position the camera to where I want it and to be able to look around, which I often use to see if my cat is nearby. There’s a slot for SD card but I’ve opted for subscription, having already a Tapo doorbell. Thus works well and, overall, I’m happy with the price of both camera and subscription. Great upgrade.
Love it, works seamlessly with Alexa and it’s half the price of an Amazon camera. The picture is excellent and as it has its own solar panel I haven’t had to charge it yet. I did install an Amazon one in the garden at the same time and I’ve had to charge that one and the same time period. It’s incredibly easy to install and there’s even a template to know where to drill. ( essential for a woman with little drilling experience )

Yes but you have to know the sensor must be 2 meters height and in a specific angle 10 20 check copilot and set the sensivity to 10. If you only want to see the grass growing any size is good I really like the addition of the sunpanel. Make sure you have a very good wifi connection i mean ensure the distance is not to far. For false positives resize the window screen to your needs. The recording to the 128 GB microssd Samsung class 2 is perfect you need to purchase this seperate. So my battery is always 100 percent due to solarpanel no cloud subscribtion and easy to share with your partner value for money.
