Reliable on our farm
Our property is hilly and about 600 acres. Regular radios kept cutting out in the lower pasture. These GP1s work fine down there. The speaker is loud enough to hear over tractor noise. I just wish the charger cable was longer, minor thing.
We had a concrete truck arriving at six in the morning and only three guys on site. The group switch on this radio let me call the foreman and the pump operator separately without messing with anyone else’s channel. We wrapped up two hours earlier than expected.
Buttons are easy to use
I work on a ranch and wear gloves a lot. The big PTT and twist knobs are straightforward, even with thick fingers. Screen is readable in sunlight. I like having physical controls instead of a phone app.
Kept event security on same page
Ran security for a charity 5K last month. These units covered the whole course which is about three miles of public roads. The member button is handy for reaching a specific guard instead of broadcasting to everyone. No complaints from my crew.
