Handy extra layer of car security
I got this because car theft seems to be something you hear about more and more these days, and I’ve started using visible security devices again when parking away from home. I’ve had traditional steering wheel locks in the past, but I always found myself worrying about where I’d put the key or whether I’d left it in a different coat pocket.
The password design is what attracted me to this one. Once you’ve set the combination, there’s no separate key to keep track of which makes everyday use simpler. I’ve been using it on my car for the last week and it only takes a few seconds to fit. It loops around the steering wheel and locks into the seat belt buckle, creating a fairly obvious physical deterrent. The bright red cable stands out through the windscreen as well, which is arguably half the point with devices like this.

For around 20 it feels like reasonable value from what I’ve seen. The keyless design is convenient, it’s easy to fit and remove, and it gives a bit of extra peace of mind when leaving the car parked. I’d keep using it and would happily get another if needed.

Besides locking the steering wheel for anti-theft, it can also be used to secure handbags and laptops to prevent them from being stolen by smashing windows while parked. I occasionally use it to lock my bicycle; it’s multi-functional and very cost-effective.
