When installing this it tells you to check that it works before putting it up. It scared the living daylights out of me, my husband, and my dog and woke up the baby who was in the other room – so it works extremely well and I have every faith it would easily wake us all up in the dead of night if it needed to.

Works and looks as expected
Ordered on the 26th April and arrived today (27th) thanks to Amazon Prime.
Partner is happy that we now have a detector at home – better to be safe than sorry; CO is a “silent killer”.
Happy with the 7 year Warranty and 10-year life – didn’t expect the batteries to last that long! Requires x3 AA sized but it’s not a problem replacing them for the price of the device.
The green, ‘Operate’ light flashes every 30 seconds to show that the unit is working (rather than being on constantly – not a problem when you know what to expect).
Happy with the purchase and peace of mind that it offers. Would recommend.

Careful, when your put the batteries in, it goes off to test. Jumped out my skin.
It’s odd being asked to rate this. Like the last one I had, I fitted the batteries, checked the alarm worked, and that the green ‘on’ light was flashing, and that was all I could do, really. I’ll only find out if it’s really working properly if the CO levels rise – which I hope they don’t. And, until I find out if it’s working as it should, I can’t really say if it’s value for money or not!

I dont know why it didn’t occur to me to buy one sooner. Every home should have at least one. This device is value for money easy to use and easy to check weekly that the battery does not need changing. It is good to know it will save lives, hopefully it won’t be needed but goid to know it’s there. Money well spent.

Fast delivery & looks exactly like the images, so a good start. Batteries included so a bonus which were easy to install. I’m unable to test it as we don’t have any fumes leaking, so I have to assume it does. Pressing the test button emits a very loud shrill tone.

This is just great! I was advised by British Gas I needed a second carbon monoxide detector in the bathroom owing to the boiler; prices varied but this baby was an excellent price and after reading the reviews went with it and it’s great and VERY LOUD! Would highly recommend.

Very Impressed! Great alarm
This was easy to install and easy to use. It comes with instruction booklet which also has information about how to look for the signs of carbon monoxide poisoning and the different stages.
There is also a warning sticker which tells you what to do if your alarm sounds a warning there is carbon monoxide being leaked.
It tells you what to do and who to call.

Either they think ive bought something a bit more adult or I don’t know anything about this item.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s a carbon monoxide dectector, sits on our window sill as we have a coal fire. Easy to get up and running, it’s just happily flashing every 30secs to show its working.

I bought two of these alarms, one for the kitchen, as we have a gas cooker, and one for the lounge, as we have a gas fire. Kidde do sell LED digital ones as well, but I chose these for simplicity. The instructions are easy to follow and the alarms are very easy to set up. I would recommend these alarms.

What did I use it for? That’s a stupid question; you don’t use a CO detector to mix cocktails.
It is a bit fiddly to get batteries located because of the springs ( a little force may be needed to push home in locations)
I had to run the initial test twice in order to get the green light flashing every 30 – had to do that the first one I bought. A good machine.

A very decent detector at a more than reasonable price. So good I bought it twice! Put the batteries in, and away you go! It can be mounted onto a wall or other surface, but I have just placed mine on level surfaces near to my fireplace and next to my boiler. Easy peasy!

Simple to install. Can be mounted if needed (fixings supplied). Comes with 3 AA Batteries, so only need to replace those when the time comes for up to 10 years.
Warranty expires at 7 years, so needs to be changed at that time for your own peace of mind!!

It is difficult to review this item as I will not know how good or bad it is until, or unless, my boiler develops a fault and releases carbon monoxide into the room. his is my second one. put them in lounge and beside gas boiler. so easy to put together even for me. would recommend.
The unit is small enough to be discrete in the kitchen. We asked for advice and were told that a simple alarm is far better than ones that give constant read outs which only serve to give you more to do and are unnecessary…you just want to know if there is a problem. I can’t say whether it is effective or not..no way of knowing unless there was a problem.
Easy to install. Have had one of these in the past and this is a replacement. Quite happy to stay with this brand until it also needs replacing – recommended replacement date clearly displayed on the unit.
This is the 3rd Kidde CO2 alarm Ive bought, they arrive well packed and promptly. Instructions are easily understood and the units work extremely well. If you are thinking about buying one – DO IT you will not be sorry.
I chose this Kidde CO2 detector because they are large long established company and their products get excellent reviews.
It looks well designed and made – my last CO2 detector lasted 7 years (different make) so I hope this one will last at least as long.
