Super powerful!
Very VERY powerful suction so some people will struggle pushing it because it sticks to the carpet a little but it does a FANTASTIC job of cleaning and a big capacity that’s easy to empty. Not so good on hard floors as the suction creates a seal on the lino. It is lightweight to carry though and I like how easy it is to unclick the handle either with or without the pole section do do high up or corners. A very good grown up vacuum! Paid 150 on offer and worth it at this price. Dyson who?…
Edit: 10 months on still love it! Really good on wood floors only lino that lifts that caused the problem. Newer carpet in my new place and it glides nicely it is thin worn out carpet that lifts and seals that causes the sticking problem. Still the best hoover i ever owned.
Powerful suctio
Had the hoover 24hrs and so far so good, I though I had clean carpets until I got this and was shocked at how much it was sucking up.
The hoover is very powerful with great suction, I have to turn the suction settings down on certain carpets and rugs because it sticks to them like glue, i have 2 frenchies and this is perfect for pulling thier hairs up off the floor.
The quick release wand is hassle free and great for just releasing and getting in to those edges without faffing around.
Yet to use it in the lift away mode properly but it’s not as heavy as people moan about in other reviews.
All in all this is a great pet hoover, cheaper than other brands and has great sucking power, I’m impressed.
JUST BUY IT
Needed a vacuum. Was going to go for Dyson but my mum suggested getting a Shark, and BOY WAS SHE RIGHT. THE SUCTION POWER. HOLY COW. I WAS BREATHING PURE OXYGEN AFTER MY CLEAN. the cleaning was actually fabulous. My carpet became a whole shade lighter after I used the vacuum. It’s one of the best buys I have ever made and the price was worth every penny. If I could give the suction power higher stars I would. The light weight and lift away is very useful for every manner of cleaning. From inside cars to stairs. Only issue is the hose. Which isn’t quite as long as I hoped it would be. Yes it can stretch, but the vacuum likes to fall over if you move more than 2/3 metres away from it. Minor issue because I have experienced this with every ‘telescopic’ hose on all the vacuums I have used previously. 5 year guarantee is the icing on my very clean cake. If you are after a vacuum, just get this and no worry anymore

It left me utterly mortified by the amount of dog hair and dust it picked up first time around, but credit where it’s due – it certainly does the job! It’s very lightweight and easy enough to carry up and down the stairs. Also comes with a variety of attachments to use for furniture, carpets, small spaces. Faultless! I’m a very happy customer.
Superb vacuum!
My five year old Dyson literally fell apart and I heard good reviews about Shark and although pricey decided to take the plunge. Wow I am so glad I purchased this it’s amazing almost have to hold the rugs down when vacuuming as the suction power is awesome, we have a white haired dog so a decent vacuum is a must and this doesn’t disappoint getting into places my previous Dyson couldn’t easily reach also I love that it has lights on the head so you easily see into darker places! You get what you pay for and this is well worth the money, my only slight gripe is that it’s a little heavier then my Dyson but I’ll soon get used to that!

OMG Game changer!
Didn’t realise how dusty my carpets really were! Not any more, though. I had a cordless Shark and it was brilliant, especially on hard floors, but the plug in is SO much stronger. Best vacuum I’ve owned. Small head gets in small spaces. The attachments fit to the unit so no stupid bag to carry around. The stairs are now a 5 minute job. Everything clicks in and out so comfortably. It’s not hard to push if you use it on the right settings. It does struggle in my vinyl floor which is not fully glued down, only the edges are and the suction is so strong it sucks right to it, but I use my cordless for that anyway.
Best vacuum I’ve had. I have fibromyalgia and my wrists are a big pain for me. I have not struggled with this at all and I’ve had it for about 6 months now. Everything about it is easy. The only annoying thing is that it does fall over when you’ve got the wand out but that’s because it’s light and I’d rather it be light than heavy. So just hold the handle or lay it down.

So versatile
Just love my new cleaner and what a difference it has made to my life! No more unplugging and plugging in because of short leads – this one I can plug in in my hall and it goes everywhere in the bungalow. It is very lightweight and very easy, particularly for me as I am older, to use on the stairs. It easily moves from carpet to floor with excellent suction power. Don’t know why I waited so long to change from my old cleaner to this lovely Shark cleaner. Would strongly recommend you take the plunge too!!

This is a good looking machine & in carpets it is brilliant. But I have a terrible job using it on my cushion flooring & on my barrier mats. I have it on hard floor setting with minimum suction put I cannot get it to glide over either. It’s like a wrestling match with it. A friend suggested I don’t empty the dust box out so it limits the suction, which I’m still finding it very hard to push it on theses surfaces. But it really does do a great job on my carpets.

Well, we have had Dyson’s, Vax’s and the latest Henry but this beats them all. Amazing suction, nearly pulled the cushion flooring up on maximum suction, very light and manoeuvrable. Great stuff, and a price that doesn’t break the bank. Checked out Which’s top ten vacuum cleaners, and this was number one. I can see why. We haven’t used the ‘lift away’ feature because just releasing the wand has been enough. I would thoroughly recommend this. Henry now lives in the garage. Sad!!!
What a clever sucker!
It is possibly the most powerful vacuum cleaner I’ve ever owned. After the demise of our second cordless machine I decided to go back to one that you actually have to plug in! Yeah I know!
It does the job exceptionally well and as I said it really is powerful. The ‘lift away’ bit is handy for doing the stairs and the flex is ample long enough to go outside to vacuum the car.
However, despite its magnificent sucking it is quite a heavyweight machine, it’s like doing a workout without going to the gym! I am not a delicate flower but I find it hard to push especially on carpet with a flat pile. Thankfully there is a max – min switch so that makes it a lot easier to handle. Another thing that would’ve been great is if it had a large flat head to attach to the wand when using the lift away function.
That being said, it is an extremely good vacuum cleaner so don’t let my whingeing put you off.
Acceptable vacuum cleane
Quite pleased with this appliance though have only had it a couple of weeks. Good that it has a swivel head which fits easily into corners. Better than my original upright Hoover. Took me a while to get to grips with how it works. Useful being able to use it on the stairs without dragging the whole cleaner up the stairs. The dust container I felt was a bit small and needed emptying fairly frequently but I had been shredding and each time I emptied the shredder I had lots of bits to pick up from the floor. Maybe this wasn’t the best use of this new cleaner.

This edition is just as good if not better the steel pipe is far better than the older plastic versions.
Fantastic suction I have a dog and 4 cats and it picks up there hair effortlessly.

Well I can not believe I’ve waited this long to purchase this product!! Absolutely brilliant does as described my bedroom carpet has been back to life so much so that ensuite toilet door now drags when opened. Suction is very fierce indeed, but gives you a good work out.
Does feel abit heavy and sorry to say the base when emptying into bin was too wide for bin so gave myself another job. Easy to put together too. Just glad I don’t have to carry up any stairs.

My last vacuum lasted 17 years. I was very loyal to that company because of it but when I went online to purchase another I couldn’t justify the prices. I looked around, saw all the reviews of this product and took a gamble. I LOVE IT!

This vacuum is excellent. I’ve given it 5 stars, not just for the product but the quick delivery, great packaging and an easy transaction. I thought the floor was clean until I used this vacuum, the lights help see in darker places (no surprise there!) and this has been a huge help. The design is really impressive, being able to take the lighter part to do the stairs means I no longer have to haul a vacuum with me.
I’d read one or two negative reviews and the main complaint was that the suction was too strong. It isn’t too strong for me and I’ve arthritis and back issues. This vacuum is lightweight, easy to use, versatile and I am delighted with it and have no problem giving it 5stars.
Wow
Had dysons for several years but decided on a change, the vacuum is amazing! The carpets are actually lifted when you Hoover and the amount of muck that comes out of the carpet is disgusting and we are house proud! The power is unbelievable! My husband is going round hoovering to his hearts content as he finds it so exciting! My husband prefers an upright where as I prefer a cylinder and this shark keeps us both happy. It’s so easy to do the stairs and sofa etc by removing the container from the upright part…..the only thing I would say is in our bedroom the carpet is thick pile and I personally found it hard to push but my husband was fine with it. You will not go wrong with one of these, it is my husbands new toy!

If your not aware of this you might think the suction too powerful ! Very very easy to put together and to take apart when using on the stairs etc. I think it lightweight but I would think anything is after using an old Dyson for as long as I have. Agree with other comments in that you will need to empty fairly often but that is a minor inconvenience in the scheme of things. If you are looking for a hoover for under 200.00 I would be surprised if this disappointed!

Dissapointing newer model
I wish I had read the question section before purchasing. I had the older model which recently broke and unfortunately I couldn’t buy the same one and thought the newer version would be better but they’ve ruined it!
1. The roller brush used to be removable and now its not which isn’t very helpful when you have children with small toys
2. It’s heavy to push on carpet! The older model was so light and almost moved on its own but this actually hurts my shoulder to push.
3. The attachments are different and I miss the brush on the crevice tool
*I will add that it looks nicer and it is better on hard floors than the older model but it’s not what I was expecting and I’m dissapointed.
Best suction I've ever experienced with a vacuum.
Couldn’t wait to get on and write a review. I am SO happy with my purchase. I’ve had an awful vacuum for years and to then get this has made me so happy. It has more than halved my time spent cleaning and it’s suction is incredible. The vacuum itself is light to lift and easy to do the stairs with, it only feels heavy when pushing it because the suction is that good. I find this a small price to pay for a really decent clean. It picks up everything no vac I’ve ever had has picked up before. I love the little lights on the front and find it so helpful when the lighting in your room isn’t good enough but then you end up noticing the dirt later on with different lighting. It has genuinely made my carpets look new again. It’s sad how happy I am!!
Everything is easy to clip apart and clean and it’s easy to take the handle off to lift and go.

This Shark cleaner with just 750 watts is far superior – I tried it out today as soon as it arrived and was most impressed. It makes the carpets look as if they have been cleaned properly for the first time – the suction power is incredible. I started with it on max suction but had to slide it right down to minimum suction – it brought the pile right up on our carpets and the amount of dust collected was amazing especially considering that I had only hoovered two days previously with my old vacuum cleaner. The Shark appears to be a quality machine – well designed and thought through and easy to use. Everything is labelled and all clicks together in a very satisfying way. This is the most I have ever spent on a vacuum cleaner but so far I feel that it is well worth it!
Great hoover but heavy and clunky
This hoover is brilliant on both hard floors and carpets. Even the wand is great which cleans stairs brilliantly.
The first time I used ithe hoover on the living room rug, it looked it it’d been professionally cleaned. It really is fab.
The only let down is the weight and manuverability of the thing.
It’s SO heavy and clunky to move around and it’s especially difficult on carpets, even on the lowest suction setting. I’m young(ish) and relatively fit and even I worked up a sweat using this thing.
I lent it to my Mother-in-law (70) and she couldn’t lift it and found it extremely difficult to push.
All in all, great hoover, great work out! 😉

As a first time Vacuum buyer I am very happy
Having never owned a vacuum I was completely overwhelmed when it came to researching and was faced with so many choices and price ranges.
I bit the bullet and went for this after being reccomended Shark by a friend and it is more than adequate for the price.
Originally I wanted to pay about 40 but after seeking advice from friends and other reviews I have learnt that if you want a decent product that will last you need to spend at least 100.
I have no doubt that a 600 dyson would be more powerful and have many more additional feautures but for the 150 I paid this does the job perfectly.
The suction is just right for my needs (crumbs, dust etc…). The pull out wand is handy for rugs and hard to reach places, I don’t really use the liftaway feature as I don’t have any stairs but I can see why it would be handy in the future if I move somewhere that does. The cable is long and wraps up easily, and the whole product is easy to assemble and simple to use.
Overall I’m quite happy with it but be aware I live in a small one floor flat and vacuum about once a week so cannot speak for someone who may have a large house and need to vacuum more frequently.
Brilliant adaptable design, functionality and use on stairs.
I bought this product to use as a light weight vacuum cleaner that could be used upstairs, in order to avoid my wife carrying one up as she has some health issues but values her independence. I already have a top end Shark vacuum cleaner downstairs which we love, so when our other lightweight stopped working, it was a natural choice for replacement. This is the best design and functionality I have ever found in a vacuum cleaner. It is lightweight, easy to use, adaptable and makes all cleaning tasks easy. Use on stairs is a dream with the detachable body and range of tools. Highly recommended.

Brilliant vacuum cleaner
This is a well though out Vacuum and much easier to use than our old Dyson.
It arrived with a slight physical problem (wasn’t broken, the locking clip was stiff and wouldn’t return to the original position) where the top clips into the bottom, and I contacted Amazon to discuss what to do, they contacted the company there and then, and then within minutes Shark rang me and they decided that the best way forward was to replace the bottom unit, (although we still could use the Vacuum and was very impressed with the suction).
The replacement part came the next morning via DPD!

However I find the vacuum is bit heavy but not heavier than other vacuum in market. Overall a real strong vacuum with 5 years warranty

You don't know you need this.... but you do!
How did I live without this?? This is hands down the best hoover I’ve ever owned. I thought my last hoover had great suction power but this knocks that right out the park! It’s so hard to push on a carpet/rug the first few times you use it, but the more clean your carpet becomes, the easier it gets. Couldn’t believe what came out of my rug (that had literally just been hoovered an hour before this got delivered!)

Powerful vacuum
Very powerful to use and brings up my deep pile carpet perfectly. Easy to use liftaway and other functions. I don’t have stairs but i reckon it would be fine to use as liftaway and attachments that are included. The upholstery brush is really powerful and you have to use this in hard floor mode which is just a simple switch over. All in all i am very pleased with it especially as my first use was after having a new bathroom fitted so carpets were very dusty. Can be heavy to push but you can adjust the suction to suit your own comfort. Glad i bought this Shark and definitely an improvement on my earlier model and my cordless shark. So much more power with this model

a good Dyson alternative but not so stable
Update
Although I’m generally pleased with this vacuum cleaner, it has a couple of drawbacks-the hose does not extend as far as the old Dyson and so cleaning high ceiling corners is impossible. Since the machine is not as heavy as the Dyson, it’s also more unstable when using the hose. It tips over if you extend the hose too far and recently it fell against my leg causing a nasty bruise. I’ve taken to lifting the cylinder away from the base and carrying in one hand while using the hose in the other, fortunately it’s light enough to do this, but it is a bit awkward. Original review below.
I’ve been Dyson user for years but when our last one (10+ years old) needed replacing as the handle broke, I decided to look at alternatives.
This machine is much more compact and lighter than the old one. I particularly like the stair cleaning lift away function and it seems that it outperforms my old Dyson on cleaning upholstery, but that’s maybe not a fair comparison given the age of my last vacuum cleaner.
I like that you can adjust the suction power but on low pile carpets where there’s thin underlay it is very difficult to move the machine even on the lowest power rating. It does have a smaller dust collector than the Dyson, but I don’t mind that as there’s less dust to fly around when emptying. Like the Dyson fluff tends to collect at the top of the dust holder and needs to be pulled out, again smaller quantities make that easier.
Overall I’m currently happy, it’s longevity remains to be tested.

Dyson DC25 finally broke, so went for this & I am so pleased I did! Suction is crazy good and way better than the Dyson & any other I have owned. Other reviews have complained about not being able to move it across carpets but please see this as a good thing! Firstly it’s really not that bad, secondly you get the satisfaction knowing it’s picking up all the crap your last vacuum couldn’t handle, and with the added bonus of a workout whilst hoovering This is an exceptionally good cleaner at a great price!

Well made
It’s very good using attachments and getting rid of fluff etc picked up is also very easy .I’m afraid the downside is suction like other people found it too much ,even using the slide on the handle made little difference.I found removing the suction tube from the machine made a big difference but the what I have done is take off the handle turn upside down and you will see the slide which controls suction (see picture) get a screwdriver or chisel and scrape felt pad off the slide .You will see by photo my slide has no felt on it .I find this perfect .Shame we need to do this as it’s a good machine.
Shark upright vacuum
This vacuum isn’t what I expected. It’s certainly not lightweight .. in fact its the heaviest I’ve ever had. It does have very good suction which can be reduced if it starts sucking up your carpet. But I’m not at all happy with the cable as it’s all over the place and doesn’t stay where it’s supposed to be .. ie .. on the hooks provided. As it is I will not be advising anyone else to get this model as its just not doing the job I want it to. But, when I’ve used it a few more times and if I become used to all its weird quirks I may change my mind and will then let you know. If I don’t then I will have to sell it on and buy something better suited to me.
Powerful, easy to use and value for money
I have always had a Dyson and a Henry, due to my disabilities I started to find them difficult to manoeuvre around, I rescued a dog back in July 2020 and he loses hair constantly, neither my Dyson nor my Henry were able to remove his hair from my carpet this began to really get me down as my home never felt cleaned properly.
I saw this advertised and read many many many reviews, it was delivered yesterday and I really have 3 words the first word is ‘WOW’ and the 2nd is ‘FANTASTIC’ my carpet looks brand new and whilst I know that there will always be the odd hair here and there ( that’s what having pets means for life) I now know that as soon as I hoover my carpet is spotless.
This really is the top dog of hoovers, I very very very rarely write reviews but this little beauty 100% deserves all the stars I can give and a recommendation.
I have even phoned several friends and suggested that they consider this as their next vaccume cleaner.
I am over the moon with my purchase and the price in comparison is really good.
Please don’t do what other companies do by proving this out of the reach of those of us on a low income as everyone should be able to afford to buy a little shark for life.

I bought this Shark vacuum after reading 6 million different reviews on a variety of upright vacuums. My old cylinder pull-along Hoover broke and I came to the conclusion that with vacuums, you get what you pay for so I decided to spend a little more on a Shark. For me its two big selling points are that you can remove the cylinder from the base which makes cleaning the stairs so much easier as the vacuum doesn’t fall down the stairs, and its suction. It picks up hair and dirt really well, the only down side is that even on min suction and on the hard floor setting, it still eats a rag rug I have but I can live with that. I read reviews that the suction was too powerful – it’s not, you just have to make sure you have it set on ‘min’ as well as on the carpet setting. The headlights are great as you can easily spot bits you’ve missed. I’ve only had it a day but have done the whole house with it (carpet and hard floors) and it’s fab. Yes long hair does get caught around the roller brush but you’d expect that on any vacuum – it’s a brush, they’re designed to pick up hairs!
Good Powerful Vaccum
Thought I would use for a while before reviewing. It’s probably not the lightest vaccum on the market but I would not class as heavy. I read some reviews saying difficult to push. I found only on certain carpets depending which way the pile laid. Altering the suction seemed to fix the problem for me. I like the way all attachments come apart without fuss. Also so handy to be able to separate into a hand held type for stairs. No more dragging up step by step! So simple to empty the dust compartment although I was horrified at the amount of debris picked up from my ‘clean’ house on first use!! Love the light and rolling action around corners. Best vaccumm I’ve owned.

Overall this is great. The base part, (wide bit on the bottom for level surfaces, don’t know what it’s called) isn’t the easiest to use because you have to lean it away from the floor to move it around, which gives less suction. Using the hose on the other hand is perfect though I find the attachments with the rollers and bristles rather pointless, the best use is just the standard plastic tube. Easy to empty out, and certainly easy to recover valuables you may suck up by accident, which you likely will because the suction is excellent.

Overall a very good hoover. If I’ve ever complained that a hoover doesn’t pick up the same cannot be said about this one. It is almost too powerful! Even on an easy carpet setting it refuses to be pushed on my very low pile rug. It seems to be ok on my other carpets but would still be a struggle for an older person. It is also super lightweight which again although in the main is a positive it also means it easily tips. On this basis I have to knock off 2 stars. On power alone it would definitely score a solid 5!

Very good hoover. Looks like I’ve been walking on a sandy beach for the past 5 years. I thought the last hoover was good. But then used this on what was to my wife (not being sexist but she finds hoovering satisfying, whereas I hate it) a pristine hoovered carpet. Boy, she was wrong. The bucket/trap or whatever it is called was half full of dust/grit/crap from the one carpet. Couldn’t believe it. Thought it must have arrived used, but of course it wasn’t. It was just that good.
It’s light weight, and easy to use.
Only problem so far is the head of the hoover tends to bounce it’s way back, so pushes forwards doing a nice job then bounces when drawing it back towards you. Then on a lighter carpet in another room it bounces along when pushing forwards. Feels like hoovering a sandy beach after the tides gone out. Full of ripples. Very odd. Any idea?
Other than that it’s an excellent hoover to replace what was once an excellent hoover, ha.
Best vac I have ever owned.
It’s a great Vac. I have owned 2 Shark corded vacs before. They both worked faultlessly for 6yrs+. They both had 1450w suction and got the carpets clean of all dirt and dog hairs. This replacement vac has a much lower 750 watt suction but is more powerful. Brilliant build quality and the lift off feature is the one I use for cleaning staircase.
I’ve also owned v expensive rechargeable vac, but found that over time the suction performance and battery life substantially reduce. I will stick with Shark mains powered vac and this is a very good vac.
Very good vacuum
Ok. So I have had this nearly a month. Compared to my old vacuum, different make, it is very good. The suction is so strong I cannot use it full, but have to turn the suction down. Or it is too hard to push. You can see the nap go the other direction! It changes from carpet to hard floor setting too, by the on off switch. I love. The way it swivels around corners. And goes under tables. The LED lights on the front of it make it useful if you have sight problems, to see if you have missed anything. It is so easy to switch to the extention or lift off to take upstairs. And it’s all done via the one unit. So no fear the spider will run away, whilst you change the handle to the tube, like my old hoover! Its so easy to change from one use to another. No faffing with taking one bit off and fitting it elsewhere! It’s light to take up the stairs, once removed from its bottom. And you know the bits are fitted back as you can hear an audible ‘click’ changing from one use to the other. The cartridge that holds the rubbish is not large. But it will easily hold two or three rooms of dirt before emptying. And I have a dog and two cats. The tools don’t fall off! Unlike my other one, where I gave up. And ended up forgetting where I had left them! It also comes with a pet attachment that is loud but very effective on sofas. The hoover itself is not very loud. The cable is a good length. Although it can fall over, during certain use, ie cleaning the sofa, I have found this with my old vacuum too. So it’s how I am using it rather than the unit itself. Although it is very stiff. The foam filters can be washed and reused. I was very pleased with this! No need to pay out for expensive filters. The only down side being you need to give them a full 24 hours to dry. So if you need the hoover in that time you cannot use it, The Warrantee is five years. I think. Very good, they stand by their product. Although you MUST activate it to be able to use it! You do this by doing it online. So far I am very pleased with this. I will update with further comments as needed. I did get it in the sale. So got it for 149. Rather than 225. Tbh if it had been full price, it would have been out of my price range.
Update March 2021; had it a few months now. Yes it is a good Hoover. Although it does not like picking up bigger ( cat litter pellet size) bits without have to use the stick, which is a pain. The main issue is a cannot find filters for this anywhere! Even here, the filters it offers look the wrong shape. So I sincerely hope this will not be an issue.

I bought this as a lightning deal and can’t complain at all with this vacuum cleaner. Works well on stairs and lift away helps a lot in hoovering stairs. High suction is quite good when you actually need it and works well on hard floors for best result. Overall, I would recommend this vacuum cleaner to anyone.
Cons: Doesn’t have anti- hair wrap tech so will have to remove hair once a while underneath suction area.
Personally I feel led lights don’t help until and unless you are cleaning in dark (and I wouldn’t see anyone cleaning in dark) and I feel it can do without but doesn’t hurt to have it either..

Wow. Very impressed with this vacuum. The best I’ve ever had. After having a dyson plug in that lost suction after a while and a cordless one that was literally less suction then if I’d lucked on the carpet through a paper straw I am over the moon with this. The hard floor setting is great on our wood floors downstairs and the led light is really handy for not missing bits. But on the stairs and upstairs was where the difference really showed. After just one room, the amount of dust in the chamber was horrendous! Like I’d never vacuumed it before despite hoovering every other day. The carpets feel softer under foot and almost look new. All the people moaning about it being hard to push on carpets I would suggest are not very strong as I am 5 ft 2 and a petite frame and can manage it. Yes it does give yours arms a workout but literally because the suction is that powerful! Highly recommend.

We vacuum every day due to very fluffy cats, we currently use a battery Dyson V8 animal. It’s washed and serviced with new filters as recommended. My neighbour has always said how good Sharks are so I decided to buy at this special price of 149.
Carpets and stairs were vacuumed Friday morning, Shark came Friday afternoon, and as you can see I filled the bin up in one hit !!!! We are clean living people and this has shown how rubbish the Dyson is. Yes it’s light and easy to use but I’ll never buy a Dyson again !!!
What do I like about this hoover?

This arrived today and my childish brain kicked in. I got it straight out of the box, assembly was amazing and easy.
The power, WOW! I would not recommend this hoover for high pile carpet cleaning as the brush at the base of the hoover cannot be turned off.
With low pile carpets like mine, the Old Dyson Pet hoover would just push the carpet pile down and pick up the bare minimum. I would have to go back and forth for an easy 20 Min in an average size room.
But the SHARK! It’s an ANIMAL of pure Suction, it sees a carpet and puts life into it while pulling at every hair, piece of dust and anything in its way and straight into its easy to operate bagless chamber.
The lift away option is amazing, especially for stairs and it is remarkably light. So anyone suffering with back issues or fatigue would love this.
To summarise, this hoover makes other Hoover’s run and hide in shame.
Great little sucke
Hetty died, so I needed a replacement. Wish I’d done it years ago tbh. Hovering the stairs is so easy, with the ‘lift away’ feature. I even like the headlights! There is an option for hard floor or carpet. Emptying the dirt container is easy and mess free.
My only gripe would be the roller-if you live in a house with long haired ladies, the hair wraps round the roller, causing a red light to come on, you then have to spend time, unravelling the hair from the front brush/roller.
But overall, I’m really pleased with this vacuum cleane
An excellent little machine.
I am very impressed with this little machine. I did not expect it to perform the way it has for being so little in comparison to other big brands such as Dyson. We have a Dyson and I had just hoovered the day before we got this machine and it picked up quite a lot of dust even though the carpets looked clean (as per photo). This little unit is more than half the price of a decent Dyson and out performs them in every way.
I quite like the fact that it is belt-less for the main roller as this is controlled by a motor and only time will tell if this is better for longevity. I also like the fact that it has LED headlights for the floor head as this does help even in bright lighting conditions.
It’s maneuverability is quite easy, but it is hard to push due to the suction power gripping the carpet.
The noise this little machine makes is at least half of that of our Dyson and over vacuums we have had previous.
I suppose the only down side to it, is that the pet hair removal tool does not have a space to be stored on the main unit.
I have been wanting to invest in a Shark for a while after reading raving reviews and I finally took the plunge on a great black Friday deal. I am so obsessed, I use it on a daily basis! It’s so easy to use and manoeuvre. Suction is great, far better than my previous VAX hoover. The release from the base function is super handy, especially for the stairs. Very easy to bin the dirt and opens at both ends so easy to clean also! The only slight negative I have found so far is that it does fall over really easily when you’re using the pipe. This is because it’s so lightweight which I wouldn’t change because I hated ferrying a bulky vacuum around! I am also a cleaner and I take this on jobs with me because it’s so nifty! Would definitely recommend, wish I hadn’t waited so long to invest!
I was disappointed that the delivery was two days longer than stated and no reason given. The vacuum cleaner is great though. I had taken down my Christmas decorations and had to vacuum using my old Hoover as I was still waiting for this one to arrive, when it got here I thought I would try it out and see what it was like. It managed to get more dust out of my carpets and my old machine was making my carpets flat and hard, this one has given them more life again, making them softer. It is easy enough to use once you get the hang of hard floors= high suction, carpets= low suction. The only problem I have with it is it doesn’t like my door mat, even in low suction it has problems with it. I love the headlights feature, now I will never suck up little bits of lego again!
This is a fantastic product. We have dogs and cats which leave hair everywhere. We noticed that the Shark we had was no longer managing to do the job. Hair would remain in the carpet fibres. This one is amazing! We couldn’t believe how clean our carpets became after just one hoover. Works well on laminate too. Very powerful and light weight. Nice design and colour too. I can’t fault it. Definitely the best hoover I have ever had.
I LOVE MY SHARK!!! No I haven’t been paid to say that! This thing is AMAZING!!! If it’s possible to be in love with a hoover then I am! It even looks pretty. It sat in the corner of my lounge for a couple of days after it arrived – just so I could bask in its beauty!! 😀 I have struggled for years with a very hairy dog, a football playing muddy son and (I now realise) a crappy hoover! This baby though is light, it manoeuvres smoothly, it even has headlights – which at first I thought was a gimmick but it actually enables you to see properly under/behind furniture. The extra heads are great too, especially the pet hair one and the suction is awesome. You can see in my photos how much it picked up just in my lounge!! We had only hoovered it a couple of days before with our old hoover. Fantastic and gross at the same time! :O
I suffer with a bad back and carrying a heavy hoover up the stairs meant I often left it to my bf. He’s chuffed to bits now that I’m more than happy to just unclip the dust caddy, shorten the hose (all very quick and easy) and off I go!
Don’t bother scrolling any further – as far as I’m concerned – every home should have a shark in it!!

Well if you want good suction and easy to do stairs,this is the hoover for youMy rug looks like new again,I was amazed how much it brought it up,and my stairs which got neglected because of my previous hoover being so heavy,are once again looking good.What I will say is be careful to choose the right setting ,as the high one nearly sucks the carpet up and makes it difficult to push,this happens when it’s on the wrong one.I have since found the right setting and part to do different things and it’s great.

I ordered this hoover after reading a lot of the reviews, also a friend has a Shark (Cordless). It arrived on time, and i used it to hoover my new living room carpet. I was really surprised with how powerful the suction is. I thought i was a bit of a clean freak, but the dust and dog/cat hair it took out of the carpet was unbelievable. I would definitely recommend this model.
I registered it online today, and all it wanted was the model number, where i bought it from and my email address. I thought this weird, as i thought it would ask for a copy of proof of purchase.

Couldn’t wait for this to arrive, arrived on time, packaged well and was intact. It was easy to assemble. Time to try out ….like others have mentioned I thought my carpets clean… My oh my how wrong I was, I couldn’t believe the amount of dust as well as dog hair it picked up in just several sweeps , I am utterly amazed. Some people have said it is heavy, in my opinion it is light weight to manoeuvre when not in use, but on full suction on carpet it is quite hard going, but feel it’s worth it for all the stuff it picks up. The only downside/ concern is that because it is hard to push when in use it felt a bit wobbly where the drum lifts off the base. Glad I bought the car cleaning set too to compliment it.
Easy to use and assemble.
This is a good item, picks up the dog hairs very well, which is why I bought it, but it is also a bloomin good cleaner as well and very good value for the money I paid for it. I have only had it for a couple of days and I will comment at a later date when it has had more use. but for now 10 stars.
Powerful Suctio
A few years back I purchased a cordless vacuum from Amazon because our old vacuum had given up the ghost and I was tired of tripping over the cord. Well now I have gone full circle and and purchased the Shark. Our cordless one is fine for a quick run around but it doesn’t have the suction power to lift all the bits and the battery life is waning.
After assembly, which was quick and easy, I swept the carpet with the cordless and then switched on the Shark. The suction was so powerful, the vacuum stuck to the carpet, so I opened the byepass slot on the handle which made things easier. I couldn’t believe the amount of dust that it picked up. The generously sized cylinder was nearly half full. Praise indeed. My only complaint is the cable. It is very stiff. If the outer sheath was made from either a more supple plastic or even silicone rubber the machine would be perfect.
Amazin!!!!! I have use dyson for many years now, I heard how amazing these hoovers are I have wanted one for a year now but with a big price tag of 270 I just couldn’t afford one or even justify spending that amount of money on a hoover……. I was given money for Christmas and thought right now I am going to buy one… I seen the price had dropped to 150! And I brought it immediately. I ordered it yesterday morning and it come today (amazing thanks prime) I hoovered my daughters bedroom yesterday with my dyson… so as soon as the shark come I set it up and went straight up to the kids room I done about 4 strokes and the tank was nearly full of dust!!!!! So so so shocked! The carpet isn’t just super clean now its made the carpet soft on the feet again!!! The carpet is just over 2 years old and was very expensive and the dyson seemed to of flattered it so the nice softness was gone….. but now with this hoover it feels like new again!!!! Abouslatey amazed by it! It is 100% 270 but as this bargain price is the best ever! Extremely highly recommended!!!!
****** update********* the hoovered stopped working yesterday 17/08/21 was so so loud and stopped picking up, I cleaned the filters every month ect.
I went on live chat with amazon yesterday about 4pmish informed them and they apologise immediately and offered me a full refund or a brand new replacement. I opted for a replacement of course and it arrived today at 2.30pm ish. The old one is all boxed up ready to be picked up. I have registered the hoover now on shark website and got 5 years warranty with them. I honestly did think amazon couldn’t do much with it being way over 30days but it wasn’t not problem at all. Excellent customer service amazon! New hoover is working perfectly thank you ever so much.
Even tho my hoover did just randomly stopped working my sister and step mum’s (both got from amazon the day after me) are still going strong and fine. I just think it was one of them things that can happen from time to time. I STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOOVER
Thought we had new carpets!
I bought this as a gift for my partner, and he is obsessed with it! We have beige carpets and two dark haired cats and we’ve never been able to fully get their hair out – until 1 use of this! The cat hair was sucked out of the carpet immediately, but just within 30 seconds of using it we could see that the tank was half full of dust and dirt which made us realise how bad our previous hoover was.
Our carpets look brand new, and we also didn’t feel snuffly like we would due to the dust with previous hoovers.
It’s on a ball so it’s easy to navigate around the home, however it’s not so light-weight until you take it off of the main upright attachment and hold it just as a tank and hose – but that’s kind of what you would expect for something that can do a powerful job.
We now fight over who is going to hoover the carpets and the rug because it makes us feel like we’re the ones doing the work (but of course it’s all thanks to the Shark!)
Where to start? I guess with the packaging, which is nearly all paper and card. The only bit of plastic was on the wire tie holding the cable, so 10/10 for that. Next comes putting it together, which took no more than a couple of minutes, so another 10/10.
Then we get into using it. It’s not the lightest weight vacuum cleaner I’ve ever had, but it is extremely manoueverable, so 9.9/10 there. The suction is almost epic. I’m not sure if the cat is still in hiding or was eaten by the Shark. The amount of dust that came out of my carpets is positively embarrassing; they’re a different colour now. The tools are well designed and mostly perfectly to hand, except there’s three tools and only two storage points.
Over all, I’d give this vacuum 9.99/10 and well worth the money. For anyone who prefers an upright, you probably couldn’t get better.
Got this for wife for Xmas, I know bad man its what she wanted lol . God she loves it so happy so really this is her review old Henry been put to bed in shed gonna draw face on this when she not looking lol
Great all-round vacuum cleaner.
When I saw this vacuum cleaner on special offer (I have been needing a decent one for a while!) and having read some of the surprising not-so-great reviews, I consulted with my partner & bought it.
I am NOT disappointed.
It works great on carpets & hard floors.
I think that the problem is that some buyers who rated it poorly because of the suction power may have overlooked that fact that you need to ensure that you select the ‘carpet’ switch on the main body of the vacuum cleaner & on the handle; if you’re vacuuming carpets, select ‘min’ suction (otherwise it will stick to the carpet).
For hard floors, you need to do the opposite (select max suction on the handle & hard floors on the body).
We have thick carpets downstairs & it works well.
As for stairs, with it being a lift-away model, it’s a life-changer.
Comes with decent tools e.g. pet tool, nozzle etc.
I have never had an upright cleaner before so my judgement is also influenced by a total change of method but here goes – bought the cleaner to replace my trusty but very elderly Dyson cylinder vac – it was easy to put together with satisfying clicks and clunks at each stage. When I first turned it on and attempted a medium pile carpet I could barely get it to move at all .. it was literally sucked to the floor. I persevered and the carpet sprang back to life. Upon attempting the newest and fluffiest carpet I finally realised that you need to adjust the strength of the suck by moving the slider on the handle – this worked a treat !! Although saying that it’s hard to get it to stay in position because it gets knocked by your hand as you vacuum. The removable unit to do the stairs is excellent and not an ordeal at all. Emptying it is easy the bottom of the unit pops open and it all falls out (although initially I did what another reviewer did and turned it upside down because I didn’t notice the catch on the base). It definitely sucked up a lot of nasty dust, although whether this is coz it’s an excellent machine or whether it’s because my old was was definitely not performing well so there was lots of nasty dust to suck I am not sure. I shall definitely persevere – but it’s not a machine for anyone who has weak arms.
My carpets are clean … at last! I’ve given up on suctionless cordless hoovers and returned to corded, never again will I stray to expensive, overhyped/overpriced vacuums that don’t deliver the cleaning power they promise. This hoover does! Its easy to use, easy to empty and cleans brilliantly. Yes its a bit heavier to push around, and its not as lightweight as most cordless, but thats a small price to pay for the improved performance. The tools that come with it do most jobs needed around the home and the lift away option is great for stairs and upholstery cleaning. Would I buy this hoover again – absolutely!
Better than Dyson!
Got an old Dyson that needs replacing. Did some research online and everyone is talking about Shark. At first I was reluctant about buying a Shark and still wanting to buy another Dyson. But I am so pleased that I went for Shark. The suction is super good that I’m really shock by how much dust it suck up from the carpet. Very easy to clean. Only concern is that the machine is rather heavy compare to Dyson, it’s a bit like a work out hoovering. However, with the strong suction and easy clean, I don’t think I will ever be going back to Dyson again. Highly recommended.
I’ve had a Dyson for about 7years and the suction hasnt been great the last two years. I’m constantly getting my husband to fix it or having to fiddle with it to try to get it to do something.
Had heard a lot about shark and wondered was it all a fad with Mrs Hinch, but when this came up at such a good price on black Friday I bit the bullet.
Jesus Christ, this is amazing. The light on it has showed me all the bits I would normally miss. I’ve basically hoovered up the house since getting it. The suction nearly pulled up my lino it’s that good. I’m fairly sure I’ve sucked up the kids and the dogs at some stage and didn’t realise
I absolutely love this shark,I hoover all rooms first then waited for my shark to arrive, putting it together was a breeze then hoovered every room again and what can I say!! I feel like I’ve been living in a novel, the hair,dust and dirt that came out of my carpets was unreal. You won’t be disappointed if you buy this. Highly recommended

Caught this hoover on sale. Probably my best purchase in ages. Have only used once so relatively limited review.
My place is quite small so since moving I have used sweeping and a handheld vacuum for my cleaning needs. Over time I had noticed that my allergies had been playing up but wasnt sure why. I am now certain that a large factor was because the floors were not being cleaned properly and the dust was building up over time. Already the air feels cleaner and the carpet is looking renewed.
Easy to assemble. Quite lightweight with clear instructions how to detach each part. Separate power settings for floor types and so easy to manoeuvre. The cord does need to be held for the most part as it is about 8m long but can easily be wrapped around the unit.
The auction appeared great in comparison to Hoover’s I have used previously. It’s actually not significantly larger than my handheld gator vacuum. The attachments are easy to use however there is only space for 2 attachments and it comes with 3 (first world problem).
Emptying was easy, literally click the storage out, hold over a bin, click the bottom door open and shake. I have not yet tried to clean the vacuum but the instructions seem easy enough.
Again, cannot recommend this highly enough, as well as having a clean floor, I feel I can breath much easier. Would recommend this to anyone living in a bedroom apartment but I suspect larger places may require more trips to empty the storage (by the time I cleaned the living room, bedroom and entrance I had reached max capacity).
Arrived very well packed ….. each individual part wrapped. I thought it would take ages to sort and put together, but no, I was pleasantly surprised …. it all clicked together in a couple of minutes. Lightweight and great suction. The lift off seems easy, though I haven’t used that yet. I vacuumed my lounge carpet straight away, and though it had only been vacuumed 2 days before, it collected an appreciable amount. I am well pleased. Excelle

I bought this in the Black Friday sale at half price. What a fantastic machine this is. I hoovered my floors yesterday and they looked really clean. You should have seen the amount of dust this vacuum pulled out of the carpets today, when I used this machine. Absolutely unbelievable.
Great suction, easy to manoeuvre , easy to empty and onboard storage for the various tools that come included with it.
I love the “headlights” at the front, so that you can see behind those sofas and underneath the dining table.
There is a lift away section that makes hoovering the stairs a doddle.
I cannot find anything negative to say about it. I highly recommend it.
What an amazingly power vacuum!! Very light weight and maneuverability is fantastic, it pivots and turns the tightest cornerswith ease. The 2 powers settings are great, 1 for hard floor and 1 for carpet, a nice long power cord and not overly loud when running. After 1 use, it was as though we had never vacuumed before (although we did, regularly). Never going to use a Dyson again, Shark is far superior!!
Amazed and a little bit disgusted at how much dust and dirt this vacuum cleaner picks up…
My only complaint is that the wire tend to get tangled and the hook provided to keep it our of the way is somewhat ineffective and the wire keeps falling off.
Other than that, probably the best I e ever used!
This was a early Christmas present for my daughter took it over Wednesday night just before lockdown.she opened it and was over the moon to have a shark vax .tried it out straight away and what a difference to her carpet and she had just hoovered with her old vax.just been on the phone this morning and still going on about her stark vax.so l am pleased.
I’ve only used this a couple of times but so far so good. The suction is good, I hadn’t vacuumed for a while due to my old cleaner breaking and it did a great job. Easy to empty, holds a fairly good amount before needing to empty it. The headlights are really useful for spotting dust and dirt I might otherwise have missed under the table, settee etc. I also think it looks great. I would say the only downside is it’s heavy to manouvre but you can take the body off and carry it while using the hose/attachment which is really handy. The wire reaches longer than any I’ve used before, I could reach up to the top of the stairs on the top floor of my three storey terraced house before I had to unplug it on the ground floor to reach further.
I bought this to replace my old Dyson cleaner. Compared to how ridiculously expensive some of the newer vacuum cleaners are, this really is good value for money. I have not had it long, so I can’t attest to its longevity or durability yet. It is lightweight, good suction power and thanks to the removable top half, it his highly manoeuvrable. It makes cleaning the interior of the car or the stairs infinitely easier than before.
This is a really good hoover. Great suction- good on carpet and hardwood floors. Hose is a bit short when you need to use the nozzle
Love this hoover, living on a building site the dust that collects in my house is unreal, my dyson just wasnt up to the job. Bought the sharked vacuumed the day after using my Dyson and what the Shark got up was crazy, i had to empty it after first use. It is a heavy hoover but when it makes my 7 year old carpet look brand new i dont care about the weight. Dont know why it took me so long to purchase.
This hoover is like no other, the sheer suction power made my carpets sparkle. With my old hoover my floors were always coarse however the Shark Lift-Away Upright Vacuum Cleaner has made them fluffy again. 10/10 would recommend. Lovely product.
Never going back to a Dyson! This has excellent suction while remaining lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. The pipe it also very easy to take out/put back (no sticking or force needed) whist also being easy to use and keeping great suction. The lift away feature makes it that much better too!
We have two extra fluffy Golden Retrievers … that shed all.day everyday… and it handles all their hair like it’s nothing. Works especially well on the stubborn trampled in hair too.

What a game changer, I’ve had a very well known make of vacuum for ever and after seeing previous Shark reviews I purchased one, what a game changer, my carpets (which I vacuum daily) look like new the dog hair has vanished. The lift away section is lightweight for carrying on the stairs, the suction power on carpets is amazing. I’m only disappointed that I didn’t purchase one years ago 🙂

I spent some time reading reviews for a new vacuum cleaner and very pleased I made this choice. It feels as though the carpet is being sucked into the vacuum cleaner! Highly recommend
I have worked in housekeeping for a few years so I have used quite a few hoovers. This one is light,very efficient. Like every thing….and everyone, it needs to be handled with care.

Needed a new vacuum. Saw this on special, did a little research and clicked that button.
Easy to put together. Fairly lightweight, and you can detach the motor and carry around one handed to get to those awkward places, like curtains and underneath grandma.
Suction power is great, with two settings for hard floors and carpets. First use made the carpet in the living room look like new – and yes, I should vacuum more often.
The pet cleaning tool isn’t just a gimmick either. Tried it out on some cushions etc, removed all cat hairs etc very efficiently.
Tried it on the cat, but she called her lawyer. Oh well..
Floor unit part works fine too. Had two reasonably powerful LED lights, so you can see under things and remind yourself why you need to vacuum more.
What else?
Emptying it is easy peasy, lemon squeezy. The only thing I could criticise, is that the actual dust/cat hair/old toenails collection receptacle is a tad small. Lots of trips out to the garbage bin, but, its easy to empty, with a trapdoor mechanism so you don’t even need to stick your hand in among the unmentionables to empty it out.
The suction is a might powerful to be used on small rugs, as I found out, among various Laurel & Hardy scenes of me waving the wand end about with a rug attached, yelling “Stop! Damn you! STOP!”
We live and learn, and that’s not really a complain about Le Shark.
That’s it. Very good vacuum. Tad pricey, unless you get it on special, but for the money either way, it does the job.
so happy I bought this hoover instead of another Dyson! Its the best hoover I’ve ever owned. It gets so close to the skirting boards that I don’t even have to use the attachment that comes with it!
On opening the box and pulling out the main tube I had a little wow moment feeling the red metal – very nice – especially if you have been used to the usual normal all plastic vacuums. I think the Shark designers have done an excellent job on the aesthetics but a bit more on that later.
I’ve included a number of photos and a video of the basic operations which I hope you find helpful.
This vacuum is a very nice piece of equipment. You get 3 wand accessories including a Hard Floor brush, a long nozzle and a smaller brush head and the main unit has a two stage switch for Hard Floors or Carpets.
It is very manoeuvrable, being lightweight and with a good range of motion, but the party piece is being able to detach the wand and bin section from the main floor section so that you can roam free. This is as simple as pushing on a pedal with your foot and lifting up. This is great if you have stairs to do or tricky sections of a room.
The bin container unit is also a simple thing to remove and there is a button on the bottom to open the door so that dust can be deposited in your bin. As with most of these bins though you sometimes have to dig out the stubborn dirt with your hand.
The floor section has six super bright LED headlights to help you see what you are doing and the cable length is approximately 8 metres long.
Suction is immense! Honestly I thought it was going to lift my carpet and there is a high pitched “Darth Vader-esque” suction sound as you push it around which I liked! Coupled with the black and red design detailing and the red wand, I started to see some serious Star Wars parallels… It certainly has the force!
Criticisms… well the bin is a bit small for a large family house so needs to be emptied quite regularly and also the fact you sometimes need to hand scrape it to get all the stubborn bits of dust out is a pain, but other major brands also have this annoyance. The other small thing is I found it quite hit and miss when re-docking the bin and wand to the floor section. Sometimes it clicked in first time, other times I thought it had only for it to pull up again.
To conclude quite simply this is an excellent vacuum cleaner. Suction, manoeuvrability, versatility, looks and the SciFi sounds! Awesome.
I absolutely love this hoover – well worth the money. I actually hoovered the stairs today for the first time in years (husband usually does it) the bottom bit comes off, you can rest it on each step and the lead is really long! I don’t normally write reviews but this is bloody brilliant! Can’t fault it.
