A quality product from a quality manufacturer. Was bought to replace our Dimplex fire which we had 20 years. Easy to use and set up.
Had to return as first was dented (looked like it had already been opened / returned). Looks great. Easy to put in. Flat back so fits well. Noisy when heating but we mainly use for the effect rather than to heat room

The Cheriton fire was so easy to set up. The hardest part was arranging the REAL coal that came with it to look good. The 2 heat settings work well with the thermostat although I hardly ever need the high heat. It takes hardly any time at all to heat the room even from cold and the real fire effect (the best I’ve seen) makes it feel warmer even without the heater going. Very impressed with i

Overall a good artificial fire though the actual performance is not quite as good as the photo image suggests.
Easy to install very beautiful when switched on. Looking at reviews on this fire we washed coal then laid them out as per and it looked as if it’s a real fire,well worth the money.

Bought this on behalf of my Grandma to replace her 30+ year old one. This one is slimmer and moderner. It gives out a good heat and the lighting effect is nice too. The remote basically turns the lights on and off so you can’t control the heat. My Grandma loves it!

I like every appearance of the fire. The flame effect is excellent. Have only tried the heating very briefly as I have underfloor heating. The fire has enhanced the fire place. So far I am very pleased indeed.

The fire was very well packed and arrived in perfect condition. It is well made is ideal in my fireplace. The appearance is good and the flame effect most realistic and silent. The fan heater is effective and whilst noisier than I would have wished it is not noticeable when talking or listening to radio or tv.
Everything I wanted as a replacement for my old gas fire. Heat output will be perfect for chilly evenings when central heating not required. Compact and being disabled so easy to use with the remote control. So easy to install, has made a focal point for the room, looks so realistic. Delivered promptly, easy to set up, although the real coal is of course dirty, so you have to watch out for that. Fits perfectly in my fireplace (I measured before buying) and quickly heats up my 5mx6m living room on just the first heat setting. Noise from the fan is minimal, fire effect is surprizingly realistic, adds a pleasant glow. Only downside has been the remote conrol, which only seems to turn off the fire, so not very useful.

Fitted on my existing fireplace flat to the wall. Easy to use and looks great as a feature. Heat comes out straight away. The fan makes a noise but TV would easily go over the noise as it is minimal.
The fire is very pleasing to the eye and the real fire simulation is much better than I expected. So far I have not had to use the heat output but the specification of heat output should be more than enough.

The fire is very attractive and covers the fireplace gap left by the removal of an old inset gas fire. The flame effect is quite realistic and will be cosy in the autumn/winter months. Great having a small remote for this feature. The heat controls are on the front under the canopy. Don’t know about the heat output yet as, of course, it’s summer! Good value for money and delivery was very quick – next day. All in all very pleased.
Easy to use for 85 year old instant heat , safer than the gas before , smaller and neate
as a focal point this is nice , shame its nearly all plastic , real coal makes a mess lot of coal dust in the bags. think it is over priced .
Brilliant looking fire sets off my fire place. Puts the right amount of heat out when you won’t it. Easy to set up. Well worth the money I would recommend this product. My dog likes sitting by it.

It was very easy and quick to assemble – I like the overall appearance of the fire – its looks a lot more expensive than it was. I was a little apprehensive about the fan being noisy but i neednt have worried it is very quiet. The focal point of the imitation flames is really effective, and makes the room look cosy and inviting. I would definitely recommend this fire.
Just a little point – make sure you empty the coals onto newspaper before putting them into position as they do have a bit of black powder on them.
Bought on behalf of my 95 year old father to replace an ancient log effect fire.
He was delighted, literally plug and play. Coal was slightly messy to pile in but a good effect and the flames are bright and flickering. He loves the simple remote control too. A great fire for a brilliant price.
Very good styLish addition to our lounge. We have an open fireplace and this looks amazing covering up the hole in the wall. We didn’t want to get the fireplace bricked up and will never have a coal/coke fire so it was the ideal solution.

The total effect of the fire is excellent, however it is noisier than the fire it replaced which was also a complex fire. Delivery was made much earlier than the given Email date.
Really fantastic fire for the price, it has a 3D effect which at first glance does look like a real fire. I have put a fireguard in front of it for effect and everyone is convinced its real. I haven’t used the heat so I can’t comment but on flame effect its pretty much silent too. I have only had it a few weeks so can’t comment on the long term use but its perfect for my purpose – a comfort effect of a real fire to compliment central heating.

We washed the coa lin plain water before putting on fire, as other reviews recommended, as it is real coal & so very dusty. No problem.

Two reasons I percheased this fire looks more expencive than it is and it has led lights and not bulbs that you might have to replace the best flame effect I have ever seen the heat output is excelent I did not use the loose real coal that it comes with I used the artificial coal that I had on the gas fire witch was taken out to replace with this electric fire it takes two rows 7 coal eggs on each row 14 in all its looks more stunning in the fire surround.
We have no complaints with the unit itself, but we had to wait for over a month to get it from Demplex. Not sure what the reason for that was.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions I could not install the fire into my second home until way after purchase (March I think) on July 15th in the UK. It had no remote control but too late to tell the vendors. So check that because otherwise this is a pefect fire! Fortunately, the manual controls are easy.
Very life like flames, we have not really had cold enough evenings yet to really comment but the heater does seem.to heat up quickly in a quick trial

I could not work out how the remote control worked. Everything else was perfect. I bought this electric fire to replace a gas fire in the lounge, so now I am all electric and no longer putting greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Excellent value for money, well made with a great flame effect. The remote is very good and easy to turn on. I really like that it has an actual area to put real coals to make it look realistic. My only criticism and the reason I didn’t give it an overall 5 stars is that the brass area looks the plastic it is and too bright and shiny to look like real brass.
Bought this for my elderly father, he loves it. Looks realistic, even the dog is fooled getting stretched out infront of it. The remote makes it very easy to use. Price excelle

his fire is great, worth every penny, no mucking about, strait out of box, plug in, looks well made, flame looks real, with coal and l e d, light. nothing not to like. free standing, so could be put on any wall, or fireplace.
This electric fire was really impressed with very easy to set up basically straight out of box plug in and your sorted other people say about the noise have found it is the slightest not enough to bother you and tv on are that can’t hear anything would strongly recommend this product the flame effect it’s like looking at a real coal fire heat of it have found 1 setting on is enough to heat the living room so perfect product for any home great value for the price

Bought this model to replace another Electric Fire, decided to go for the Optiflame as my Civil Partner’s parents have one.
The flames look so realistic and have fooled a couple of our friends.
So simple to instal and before placing the coals on the fuel bed I would advise you to rinse them in some water, as the dust gets everywhere.
The fire definitely adds a focal point to the living room and makes it feel cosy, the heater is easy to use especially with the on board thermostat.

The first fire developed a fault but was replaced immediately when Amazon was contacted, though it seemed a bit strange to have the faulty one picked up on one day and the new one delivered the next day? In operation the remote and the new fire were faultless with excellent heat output.
Nice looking fire but it is quite plasticky when u look at it from afar it does look plasticky but when your up close it does. It does pump out some heat though.
This fire is lovely. Looks elegant and the coals are real, not fake plastic! Brilliant! Highly recommend.
Good fire for price. Bit noisy when flames on, but as advised stood it on a mat. Think bit better. Flex could have done with being bit longer. Had to plug into extension, probably H&S reason why not longer. All in all would recommend. Only criticism, switches bit hard to detect & operate under hood for elderly person.
Fairly well made however fuse blew in first week.Replaced with higher rated fuse all fine so far.
This is a nice item and I’m overall pleased with the flame effect and the heat output. The fan is quite noisy, which is usual with freestanding fires. But it is an easy item to handle (quite light, compared with older fires) and, of course, the heat output is comfortable and enough for our needs.

Really good product, only issue is switch on the fire broke pretty soon after we got it but it still works using the remote control so not a huge problem.
This product is very good, just what I was after for mantle piece. The only improvement I would make would be the remote control could set heating temperature rather than just on/off at setting it was last used.
This really looks nice, I do not think it is as warm as my previous one and it is noisier, but it certainly neater.
Having read several reviews I bought this fire aware that the fan makes some noise. ( not too much though!). The flame effect is lovely and fairly realistic, however the reflection of furniture and carpet etc. behind the flames takes a bit of getting used to. Still: at the relatively low price it is ‘a good buy’ and serves the purposes for which I bought well — to be ‘ a focal point ‘ where central heating is installed: an occasional additional source of heat and an emergency stop gap heater.
Lovely addition to the room, looks elegant and warming, it’s slimness allows it to sit in the original fireplace and not look out of place. The thermostat works very well, meaning you don’t have to keep turning it off and on.
The only downside is the fan noise, although not so loud you can’t get used to it.
