Amazing keyboard for the price! Only tiny issue is that I don’t like the macro keys on the left side.

I used about every brand, Corsair is my favorite hands down but Redragon delivers something they don’t and that’s Product to Money ratio you get everything with this keyboard with out breaking the bank

I can tell you now, that I use the keyboard for a month and I use it both wirelessly and Connected ( playing FPS connected / casually Wireless) input is seamlessly. Materials are really good battery last a few days of use. All macro keys and shortcuts are A+. Then having that volume nob is the best thing eve

The battery life is great. The key feels comfortable. Extra game key can be reprogrammed and very handy. Only thing I don’t like very much is the g6–g10 keys are different. Not as comfortable as others.

Keyboard stoped charging after about 5 months . I thought it might be the port or the cable but it’s the connection on the back of the keyboard.

The keyboard is nice, has a good heft to it with a very big legible shine through font. Keycaps are thin but good. Love the volume wheel. Top media/macro buttons arent very stylish just kinda big and clunky but I’m glad to have them.

My keyboard came with a loose magnet (the ones that hold the palm rest) and the plastic around the magnet was slightly warped. The software is meh, be aware that while software is running I saw CPU utilization go up around 20%. Very sus… Id say program your macros and uninstall.

The only real negative I’d say is the led whine… At full brightness in a silent room its unbearable. Turn up some music and youll be fine, or dont use RGB…(This issue might just be my unit)

This is my first mech keyboard and I didnt want to break the bank. So for around 50 dollars Id say its decent.

I love this brand this is my 3rd Redragon product I own. Good priced gaming hardware with high-end performance and feel. I just wish I could’ve bought this with brown switches I dont like the red switches it came with they’re just to mushy for me. so I installed brown switches and G.Skill keycaps.

The k596 feels like a racist joke in the aspect that it’s either hit or miss. While typing on the board sometimes it’ll feel like garbage and the other time it’ll feel great. Coming from blue switches (redragon k552) it felt somewhat mushy if I was typing really slowly and if I was paying attention. The sound is generally always good. Using the software to assign macros and color is very understandable after about 10 seconds of looking at it. The final thing I’ll talk about is the wrist rest. I thought the keyboard looked really good with the rest but when I tried using it, it felt pretty odd since it changed the way my hand was positioned. After about 0.5-2hours it felt way better than it had before using it and felt intuitive. Over all 7/10, only missing 3 just because of the switch type, which is a personal thing and can be switched pretty easily because it is hot swappable.

I am happy to make the change to mechanical keyboard after using cheap old keyboards. Lighting is good, some buttons lighting is not customizable but I dont really need them to be, I only need to be able to see them on the dark. Feel is overall good, I do feel they make a little more sound than expected but not overall annoying. Good thing is switches can be exchanged as well as keycaps, it even includes a switch testing set to see if you would like another color of switches better. Volume knob is really useful and I enjoy using the wrist rest it includes. It being a Hybrid keyboard that can be used wireless and wired for this pricepoint is pretty good and do not regret the purchase at all.

Bought as a replacement for my laptop keyboard and i love just about everything it has to offer, the size is the exact length and width that i needed. Only problem I’ve had is that the key switch for my W key seemed to go out very quickly, i replaced it with the extra switches it came with and the problem hasn’t happened since. Fragility may be a problem in the long ru

The keyboard comes with many features like led RGB with many modes that you can choose. The scroll for the volume or brightness and the macro keys are quite a lot to spare. The depth of each key is acceptable, and the signal from wireless mode is a plus point. They did not tell you that if you want to customize the RGB or input the macro keys, you have to download it from the Redragon website, and the app only recognizes your keyboard in a WIRED mode, not in wireless mode. Also, the receiver must put in the transfer port, not the USB A mode; otherwise, lagging will appear. Last but not least, the keyboard is somehow attracted to dust even when you use a wet wipe to clean it every day.

I was having some issues with keys that weren’t responding well. After reaching out to their customer support I received EXCELLENT service. Really wanted to keep this. The keyboard is super heavy and sturdy. The RGB is nice and the red switches performed well. When I plugged in mac and pc it would send a repeated signal that would send the mac and windows sounds that indicate an error. I would get it again because it’s the nicest and best price TKL keyboard. Redragon sells solid keyboards. I have their 551 mechanical keyboard for work.

great keyboard for the price ($58.85). the keycaps are plain slick hard plastic which is expected for the price.

i did replace some keycaps with Foamy Lizards 18 set of grey for ($34.00), yeah over half the cost of the keyboard.

software is straight forward, simple to use as apposed to my K70 software which I absolutely hate.

i definitely recommend this keyboard and as well the M686 Vampire Elite wireless/wired mouse.

The Wired/Wireless keyboard functionality makes it so easy to quickly swap your keyboard between different pc’s/laptops. The fact that you can program the keyboard without any software also blows my mind, and it remembers your macro keys and light preferences between devices. Super happy with my keyboard

  32. Stephanie Valera says:

I picked this keyboard mainly because it has dedicated macro keys – but they’re *not* hardware programmable, it requires your keyboard to be plugged in for the macros to work. Also in turn, some logins prevent the macros from working as well. I was hoping for functionality like the old Gateway Anykey keyboard. Otherwise a nice build. Hot swap-able with Outemu. Magnetically attached wrist rest works amazingly well. Volume roller a nice touch. Battery life seems sufficient unplugged, haven’t had a problem with it going dead.

Really nice keyboard! The key board is solid and almost no flex. The battery lasts a while and I have the cord under my desk so charging is quick. I only use it in wireless mode and only got lag issues when the battery is low (entire key board starts flashing).

    My only cons are three:

    1. The macro buttons on the left and be accesentally pressed with my hand as I have big hands and the macros by default and the F keys 1 through 10 so having F5 by control causes things to refresh.

    2. The software doesn’t work over wireless so I have to plug it into the computer and update the RGB and macros. Luckily you only have to do this once as the stuff is saved once you unplug, so not a huge deal.

    3. The few other macro keys don’t light up, which is not a deal breaker but weird.

The 3 cons, to me, are minor and I’m very pleased with the keyboard.

Quality stuff! I own other Red Dragon full-size keyboards and bought this smaller keyboard to use with an Intel NUC PC and it did not disappoint! I first tried a cheaper Rii keyboard with integrated mousepad and it was a piece of junk. Upgraded to the Red Dragon and you get the quality you’re paying for! Highly recommend their products!

This keyboard is awesome. I wasn’t expecting much for the price, but it exceeded expectations. It stays connected wirelessly with no noticeable lag, and also works great wired. The lighting is at a perfect level of brightness, and that is also adjustable. Actually, literally everything is adjustable/customizable. Each individual key can be even customized to whatever color and you can save six different profiles for the keyboard. The keyboard does not come with a disc to install the software to customize the board, but just Google “reddragon Vishnu keyboard software” and the company’s website has it available for free.

I love it, it is my first keyboard of this type and I really love it, my only problem is the G’s on the left side, when I program them they are permanently green and if for example I drop that my color is red, with that green it will look Christmas always, for now that is my only problem.

Pretty good keyboard. I’d say the wireless works fairly well, but do sometimes have periods where it lags which are random. Plugging in resolves the issue.

    Little on the light side.

I do like the wrist rest and moving forward would only by a mechanical keyboard with one. Helps with the higher key caps of mechanical keyboards.

Overall good value for the price.

Its a great keyboard and had no problems with it for the first year but the only thing that seems to be wrong is if you don’t press the space bar directly in the middle, like on far right side for instance, there is a chance it becomes off its track and acts as a see-saw where the key is no longer being pressed down all the way therefore not registering. It was barely noticeable at first but as the keyboard becomes worn, it happens more and more frequently.

Just to set this straight first, I am not a PC gamer. I’m playing on Xbox and I wanted a keyboard that I could use for playing any games on Xbox using KB&M support. This one caught my eye because of its versatility with being able to sport a wired or wireless connection since I was still on the fence about how I wanted my setup to be at the time. All of the other features this keyboard offers is what kept my attention hooked. The only complaint I have which is more of a complaint for me and has nothing to do with the product’s quality is that I can’t really use any of the special features of this keyboard since I don’t have a windows computer to access the software with, which happens to be a .exe file. But other than that, highly recommend this one.

    – keys feel clicky and easy to type with
    – wrist rest is a great addition
    – comes with macros, which I’ll be using later
    – cool rgb customiztion
    – I’ve heard great things about the level of customization the software offers for this KB too

I really like this keyboard. It’s great form gaming and typing. It just takes some practice to get used to it while typing.
The spring’s echo that other review’s are talking about is there but it’s not that bad. There was someone in a review saying that he couldn’t find a way to turn off the side RGB lights but it actually can be turned off using the software from REDRAGON’s official website. Just go to their website click downloads, select keyboards and right the keyboards name then download the software. The software is great. It gives you full control of the keyboard’s lighting effects, macros, and pretty much everything.

    A good mechanical Keyboard

    Good things:
    – Customizable RGB
    – Rechargable
    – Mechanical
    – Can be used wired and wireless

    Things that can be improved:

    – The software for the keyboard is difficult to find
    – The software doesn’t have the battery level

  51. Anonymous says:

The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is because of the distance of the wireless. Playing a game, i noticed a lag when the keyboard is wireless. That being said, the cable that comes with it is super long so I have just been keeping it plugged in instead. Absolutely great keyboard with amazing response times. Would definitely recommend. And if your keyboard is close to your tower (I am much further away then I should be) you shouldn’t have any trouble whatsoever with the wireless.

This keyboard is great! WIreless connectivity is responsive enough for gaming without any issues, lighting is great, USB-C connector for charging is excellent. AND the media and volume keys work OOTB in linux without any additional software. VERY happy about that. The switches are outemu reds, they feel like reds, they are very responsive, not clicky like blues (as expected with reds), What a great keyboard!

Nice Mechanical wireless keyboard, switches are linear red. Slight ping noise when typing and the rgb lighting has a lot of great options.

When the brightness is maxed there is a slight buzzing sound from the keyboard, must be electrical noise or a cooling fan.

Great keyboard all in all. Comes with a braided charging cable.

FYI my manual said press alt + esc to get to FPS mode, but after messing around I found that it is actually alt + ~ to switch over to FPS mode.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally enjoyed the layout, switches, and dedicated volume knob. However when the back lit keys are on there is a audible whining noise that was louder than my PC. got replacement thinking it was just “this” keyboard, but the noise was still there. I ended up returning it, if they can fix the rgb noise, i would happily buy again.

I have wanted to review gaming hardware from Redragon especially their RGB mechanical gaming keyboards.

And I am reviewing there Redragon K596 Vishnu 2.4G Wireless/Wired RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. This keyboard utilizes OUTEMU red linear switches and is good enough to last for 10 hour playtime via wireless. It comes with a magnetic wristrest as well.

For those confused about the term blue switch, brown switch or red switch, blue switch are loud keyboards, brown switch is not as loud and red switch are quiet.

Granted, if you want the quietest gaming keyboards, look towards gaming keyboards which offer cherry red switches (I don’t like the feel of cherry red switches, but it’s great for those who definitely want quiet key strikes).

The keyboard is charged via a USB-C cable.

The keyboard is plug and play and features RGB backlighting with one single plug. Some keyboard makers have one dedicated for the keyboard and a second dedicated to lighting, this is just a single.

NOTE: You can download the software from the Redragon website to change to colors and various effects. As well as set the delay, speed, etc. And to update the firmware.

I like how the lighting is on the keyboard and underneath on the sides of the keyboard.

I would run an update on the software, which would upgraded the firmware to 1.01. You may get an error at first that says the software app could not install on the hardware but seconds later, you will see that the update of the firmware is successful.

As for the keyboard itself, it has a 2400mAh battery good for 10 hours. The keyboard has a 10 key-less design with added macro keys and dedicated media keys. On the upper right, you can mute volume. There is a button to activate volume or LED control, you can forward or go back a track and a pause button and also volume control (or LED brightness control).

The keyboard offers 40cN force which allow for easy strokes and 2mm actuation point for responsiveness. The macro-keys are easily programmable.

It comes with a magnetic detachable wrist-rest which is not that great, so I take it off.

You also get about eight extra optical switches.

As for keys, similar to other gaming keyboards, Redragon does use a stylized typeface for their keyboards. Some people may not like this.

But overall, the Redragon K596 Vishnu is a good gaming keyboard. It’s not super quiet, as one can hear my finger clicks compared to my brown switch keyboards. But I do like the extra things added on this keyboard, such as the programmable macro keys and the media controls, which are a plus!

    Definitely recommended!

This is my initial review for the Redragon K587 , and I’ll continue updating it as I use it.

    Like:
    + Strong build quality
    + Dedicated media controls
    + Optical blue switches
    + Intuitive design
    + RGB backlights keys
    + 18 RGB modes
    + RGB side lights
    + Easy to use
    + Compact design
+ Detachable Wrist-Rest connected by magnets
    + Macros
    + Ergonomic design
    + Type C USB

    Dislike:
    – Expensive
    – Ugly font
    – Blue switches are very loud and clicky
    – Some keys double clicks like the N and the backspace
    – No USB A outputs for charging other devices like Razer

    Conclusion:
This is a solid, compact design TKL mechanical gaming keyboard but I found some minor annoyances, but could be just a defective unit that i received. I would still recommend it though, but not for pro gamers, a wrong move could cost us a lot in competitive matches.

I’ve never used any gear from Red Dragon, and I’ve never used a mechanical keyboard that’s wireless. These two concerns proved unwarranted. For starters, this is a very well made keyboard. Keypresses yield a rewarding and productive click, and you can configure the backlighting however you see fit. Wireless use is a nice plus, and it’s responsive. I ended up using wired 99% of the time, but it’s nice to have a wireless option when needed.

  60. AhmedDykes says:

I would say this is a good budget and space saving keyboard. The first thing I will note about this keyboard is that the keyboard is very quiet being a red switch. You hardly hear the pressing. The responsiveness of the keys are also very nice whether it be wired or wireless. Another thing about the key set up is that there are openings on the bottom and edges making it easier to clean. You can easily just spray air into the sides and collect it at the other end. Although you can easily pull the keys off, with this feature you do not have to do that unless there is tough dirt under the keys. The keys themselves feel pretty nice. The symbols and letters are printer on and not laser edged on. That being said if you use the keyboard a lot it may start to fade the print overtime. so you I do not really see any lag time whether you are using wired or wireless which is nice. The battery life is nice. I would not say it last 10 hours as advertised. With all the LED lights on and depending on how close or far you are to the dongle, your keyboard could last nine to eight hours of solid keyboard game time. It does have a sleep mode so you do not have to switch the keyboard on or off. One press will turn the keyboard back on and even wake up your computer. There is a nice wrist grip. What is nice about this is that you do not have to hook it to the keyboard. I have bad luck where the hooks on the keyboard actually break. This one uses magnets so you do not have to worry hinges breaking. The grip however is not a smooth solid surface. It is more of a rough surface to prevent you from slipping but it does trap dirty and stuff between the creases unfortunately. There is no number pad on the side but for most games I have seen those are not really needed. Also without the number pad it is easier to fit the keyboard on a smaller table. It gives you a bit more room on your desk for sure without having the number pad. There is a volume wheel and media keys on the top. The media key I cannot figure out how to stay lit. It shuts off after not being used overtime. Although I do not use it as often I feel some would want to have this available when watching movies on their computer. The connection distance I would say is about fifteen or so feet before you run into lag issues. You can run this keyboard on wired alone. The wire is connected directly into the keyboard and you can use the keyboard while it is being charged. There are several (18) programmed light settings that you can use. Unfortunately you cannot customize you own but I found a few to my liking just scrolling through the defaults. The LED lights are not too bright where they would be distracting, but strong enough that I can see the keys pretty clearly. The gaming experience is nice for a wireless keyboard. I do not have any issues with commands and button response. Overall I think this keyboard is a great addition for a budgets gaming keyboard. It provides good response time while also providing decent battery life during gaming. The only issues I found was that the media keys do not stay lit unless you press them so if you are in the dark you could have a hard time finding them.

Very cool wireless keyboard . Cool lighting and good feel for gaming and long typing. Longer keystrokes good button placement, roller for volume control. Magnetic wrist rest makes using this keyboard more comfortable.

My first purchase was the Redragon K85 one handed gaming keyboard. I liked the quality, look, and definitely the price. Just after a couple days of using it I purchased the K596 Vishnu wireless/wired keyboard. Guys if your looking for keyboards Redragon is tops at this point. The quality is so much better than Razer, Corsair, and even Logitech. You will not be disappointed on your purchase or even giving it a second thought.
