Works as it should, can be a little tricky to setup the first time but is very straightforward after.Be sure to update it if you intend to use the elite series 2 controller, this takes about one minute and a connection to your pc. Does all advertised perfectly, would be nice if it also allowed controller translation to PS4 but that’s just something that would make it the perfect one for all. At the price this thing is brilliant value for money and I wouldn’t hold off getting one if you have came this far.

Things to know about this
Tested on Nintendo Switch with XBox One wireless controller.
First – most importantly, it only supports one controller at a time. Don’t try pairing several, only one will work! They do state this, but you may have not read it in the description.
Second – if you turn off your device instead of sending it to standby, you’ll need to re-pair it (in my experience)
Third – it does what it says. Follow the instructions, and it just works (the button positions are the same, so in my case the A/B and X/Y are reversed, good for muscle memory, but may be confusing otherwise)
If it supported multiple controllers at once it would be near perfect.

It works! That’s all you need from this, right? The plastic around it feels a bit cheap but it doesn’t matter once you plug it in on your switch and pair with your preferred controller. Feels great to be able to use my PS4 controller to play some of my *heavier* switch games when I don’t feel like using it on handheld mode. I was disappointed with the Switch Pro Controller to be honest so this is actually pretty great.
I was annoyed that I had to buy a different controller to work with each of my devices that I had… I then came across this nifty device and thought “it’s worth a shot”. Low and behold, it just works. I first tried it on my switch with a Duelshock 4 controller and it worked perfectly. I then moved to my PC and it remembered the controller so I didn’t need to pair it again.
The range is surprisingly good and I haven’t noticed any added input lag. So far I have zero complaints about this product and will highly recommend it to anyone!

I originally bought this to use my PS4 Dualshock 4 on my Switch, and for that purpose it worked great. I’ve then also tried it on macOS for Apple Arcade, and it works great, as well as a Windows PC… where it works great.
Essentially, if you have a controller for one system that you’d like to use on one or more others, you can’t really go wrong.

Great bit of kit and set up in a couple of minutes, now I can use ps4 controller on the switch.
I’ve had this for nearly 5 months now and it has never disappointed me once. Worked perfectly as intended with my Nintendo Switch paired to my DualShock 4 controller. Not only that, but that same pairing stays even if you plug the adapter to a PC or Mac! The way this adapter handles the DualShock 4 on PC is amazing. Perfect for controller gaming on PC for things such as emulation, and games like Rocket League. Much better than the default Bluetooth connection on Windows. The adapter looks clean, has an excellent range, ZERO lag in my experience. It truly feels like it was a thing developed by Nintendo. Highly recommend, not just for Switch but for your PC too.
Things I hope to see in the future, but I won’t knock down the stars because I knew this BEFORE I bought purchased the adapter so it would be unfair to give it 4 stars:
1. A thinner version or a way to prevent the second USB on the Switch Dock not being blocked off by the width of this USB when connected. I can’t also connect it to the back of the Dock due to it being too wide, making it hit the USB-C and HDMI cable.
2. Being able to connect more than just one controller at the same time to the adapter. I’m not super bothered about this as I am with the first one but it would be super cool to see that.
Super happy with my purchase! For the price, it’s very well worth it compared to buying a wireless Wii U Pro or Switch Pro Controller if you already have a DualShock 4 controller lying around. Not to mention all the other controllers it supports like the Xbox One, Wii Remote and more.

Very useful tool, and super easy to set up. I initially got this so that I could use a PS4 controller for my switch whilst it’s docked (or if my joy cons need charging) and this works perfectly – however it also allows you to use controllers wirelessly on PC too. I’ve started taking it whenever I travel and it’s excellent, I might buy a second one!

The adapter works great, and I am able to connect my PS4 controller wirelessly to my Switch. I highly recommend this.
There are some not so positive things about using this that I thought people should be aware of:
– Out of the box, the PS4 controller is not able to pair with the adapter that is connected to the Switch. After some research, I found out that the firmware on the adapter needs to be updated. Which can be found on their website, and needs to be done a PC. I wish 8Bitdo had mentioned this in the instructions, but they, unfortunately, didn’t.
– The other problem is that when the PS4 controller is connected to the Switch, the Switch thinks the controller is a wired Switch Pro Controller. Because of this, I can’t seem to find out the battery level of my PS4 controller (since the Switch doesn’t need to show a battery level for a wired controller). This is a pain, as my PS4 controller would randomly die without notifying me earlier.
Apart from that, this product has been a life changer, or dare I say… a game changer 😀

Xbox to Switch works perfectly
Used to connect a One X controller with Switch and it works perfectly. Press the pair button on pad, then the pair button on the end of the USB stick. When paired you’ll feel the pad vibrate. I then unplugged the USB stick and plugged straight back in and it works a treat. Be sure to switch the ‘wired Pro controller’ ON in the settings menu.
(Any controller released with or after the One S is Bluetooth enabled. The original xbox pads are WiFi only. You’ll need Bluetooth)
Doesn't include USB C Cable
The product is great and works exactly as advertised however I’m disappointed based on the images that the product has. The images on website show clearly a USB-C to USB adapter on the outside of the switch. There is even a picture with 2 ends of the adapter there. However this isn’t included in the package. Only the dongle which connects to a standard USB port is included.
I’m disappointed but still think the product is good.

Great purchase with a couple of minor problems
The setup instructions weren’t very clear, but once I figured it out I’ve had no problems connecting my spare DualShock 4. The obvious benefits are that you can use your preferred controller on your Nintendo Switch (many people have a preference for PS4 and XBox control pads) and is an ideal choice if you need a spare Switch controller but don’t want to spend loads of money on the official Nintendo choices if you already have another games console.
There are some drawbacks however. The adapter itself is bulky and blocks ports adjacent to the one it is currently occupying. Also it can only connect to one controller at a time, so if you were dreaming of using this to connect several controllers at a time, you’ll be disappointed.
With all that said you’ll be hard pressed to find a cheaper and reliable alternative to a secondary control pad if you already own a compatible device.

I tested with my ps4 controller and works very well.
I’ve had RetroPie set up on a Raspberry Pi for over a year and laboured with some cheap PS2 imitation Bluetooth controllers. They really were poor and dulling the experience so I looked into what else I could use. There’re so many contrary reports as to what does and does not work but several people had said that the PS4 controller can be made to work with a Bluetooth adapter. As I have a couple of extra dual shocks for my PS4 I wanted to put it to the test. Sony actually made an official adapter that did just that, but they’re rare as hens teeth and command a huge price.
I was losing hope of getting an economical solution and started looking at 8BitDo’s excellent controllers, however my Pi 2 still needed a Bluetooth adapter for them to connect and this is their own adapter. I began to read that it worked with the PS4 pad as well, so I took a calculated risk and bought the 8BitDo adapter as I’d need it anyway.
It seemed to pair at first attempt with the Dual Shock, however the Pi wasn’t recognising it. I did a quick search on the internet and found a YouTube video on how to configure it. It simply needed me to go into RetroPie’s Options and then Bluetooth Connections to search for it. It paired at the second time of asking, and allowed me to configure the controller as I wanted.
So, after a bit of legwork and a minor gamble I can happily confirm that 8BitDo’s Bluetooth adapter will allow you to connect a PS4 Dual Shock controller to RetroPie and play your emulators with one of the gaming world’s greatest ever game pads. I’m extremely pleased by this. Thank you 8BitDo.
8bitdo Nintendo Switch wireless USB adapto
Great device, bought it to work with my PS4, control the setup is really easy, but I used a Youtube video how to configure it with PS4, connection is rock solid. I use it with Mario Kart and Mario Ace and the Snes game too. I don’t think the grypo scope function works but I’m not worried about that. Just wanted an inexpensive way of playing games without having logs of controllers dotted round the house. The 8bitdo wireless USB adaptor does the job very well, can’t fault it.

Bought for the Nintendo Switch and works perfectly. Tested the PS4 controller and Wii U pro controller, couldn’t test a Xbone controller, 360 controller is not compatible. Extremely impressed by how the PS4 controller’s rumble and motion controls are fully functional (Wii U’s ones are not) and would definitely recommend this if the Switch pro controller is too expensive for you. Whilst PS4 controllers are perfect for indies, platformers and traditional fighting games, the button arrangement is not suited for more intense games like Zelda BOTW in which case I just used the joycons. 100% worth it.

Just connect a USB hub to the nintendo switch USB C port and connect this, then turn on pro controller in setting on nintendo switch and locate controller you want to use.

Using this to play fortnite on switch, I have tried a PS4 controller which works great but the Xbox one controller doesn’t work very well, on the Xbox controller the character spins like there is slight input on the right stick, I have tried this with 4 Xbox one controllers and all did the same. I have also tested this on PC and it works flawlessly including the Xbox one controller so that must just be a switch problem.

This is a fantastic product it’s simple to use and works well will the Nintendo switch I can say anything bad about it, even the box it cam in was well thought out, the only little downside is there are no instructions of how to update it after watching videos online I was still none the wisest but luckily my friend suggested to push and hold the sync button as you connect it to the computer and that did the job beyond that it’s a fantastic well made product and does the job is exactly supposed to do 0 disconnects 0 problems I would highly recommend this product to anyone who would like to use a third party gamepad
Use your PS4 controller on the Switch
Works perfectly. Plug it in to the dock. Change controller settings to Pro Controller Wired Communication ON. Press the pairing button on the dongle til the lights flash rapidly. Press and hold ps button and share button until it pairs. Job done.

Want to play Fortnite on Switch with a bit of an advantage? I bought a Scuf PS4 controller recently and decided to try this with it and they pair seamlessly! I can use all of the back-buttons on my new Scuf controller and even the motion controls work perfectly!
This is such an amazing bit of kit, it truly boggles the mind! As a long time Xbox gamer I’d struggled to get used to the Joy-Cons, there’s something about their compact design that makes the analogue stick travel in ‘weird’ ways and as a result it can be hard to make small precise movements. Apparently the pro controller resolves a lot of these issues, but also comes with its own potential issue of an unreliable D-Pad. The 8bitdo is perfect in that it saves buying another controller, and allows you to use something you’re already familiar with.
The reason I’ve only given it 4 stars is that out of the box mine required a firmware update to work with the xbox controller. There’s no real way for the receiver to relay this information to you of course, but it was a bit frustrating that it didn’t work immediately. Fortunately updating was a painless process and only took a few seconds, but be prepared that you’ll need a PC or Mac on hand potentially to update these, otherwise you won’t be able to use it with Xbox One S controllers.
Once it’s working though, wow! I’m enjoying the Switch so much more now, there are tasks on Mario that before were catching me up that i’m just breezing through with a better controller. I can’t recommend this enough, just remember that you may need to update the firmware.

I bought this due to how expensive extra controllers are for the Switch but I was a bit unsure if it would work as advertised. Once delivered it took about 5 minutes to update the firmware and sync my Dualshock 4 to the Switch although I had to enable the ‘Pro Controller Wired Communication’ option in the settings menu (see screenshot) and then reboot the Switch in order for it to work.
After being setup though I found it works perfectly with the addition of working rumble and motion / gyro controls which was an awesome surprise. The only thing missing is getting wireless audio via the 3.5mm jack on the Dualshock 4 although this might not be possible due to how the Switch works.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to use a more comfortable controller while docked and doesn’t want to fork out 55 on a Pro controller.
This USB adaptor is amazing. One click and your DS4 is now a proper switch pro controller. You will probably need another USB adaptor for an additional non-Nintendo controller. It is quite chunky though so consider a USB hub if you buy more than one. Amazed at how easy it is to use. Save yourself 55 and buy this instead.

A brilliant piece of tech that is simple to use and of high quality. Used it to pair PS4 controller to Nintendo Switch and found it works 100% of time with no failure. Obviously relearning immediate buttons takes getting used to (back out, enter etc) but once you are used to it. Plain sailing. Worthy the price definitely.
Does exactly what its supposed to, couldn’t get it working at first with my controller on my switch but had to switch wired pro controller mode on in the switch options and it sprang to life.
Tried with an Xbox One pad and PS4 pad on my switch and both work FLAWLESSLY. PS4 pad defo recommended on switch though over Xbox one pad with this as you get the screenshot buttons and you won’t bet confused by A and B being in wrong place.
This also works on my PC allowing those same controllers to work flawlessly on my PC without the need for an official adapter or extra software which would eat up more RAM. So it’s like the jackknife of controller options.
Shocked at how easy this was to setup. I had a soare Dualshock 4 controller that had become redundant as the USB port has failed on it, however pairing it with this device is after giving it use again as a proper controller for Switch. Paired immediately and have had no problem using it so far with Mario Osyssey. Much more comfortable that using the Joycons

Works perfectly when connected via the dock. Haven’t got it working yet connected separately (e.g. for Bluetooth headphones) – but perhaps there’s a Nintendo-USB-C to USB-A converter that’s required (e.g. whatever the dock has) to get it working.
Absolutely brilliant. Lets you use your PS4 controllers on your Switch. Easy to pair and setup, the PS4 controllers have all the features that the Switch Pro controller has (minus the Amiibo of course)- Motion controls, vibration all works.
You can use more than one adaptor however you will need a USB hub or USB extension cable as the dongle is too big to plug two in at once on the Switch. If you try to run two adaptors with one USB hub it works but there are controller problems. Plug your USB hub into the USB socket in the back of the Switch dock where the HDMI goes and plug another onto the side of the device. Then with two PS4 controllers and two joycons on their side you can play Mario Kart 4 player.
