I definitely prefer this to a traditional bath fan but it doesn’t seem to move that much air and the humidistat readings seem inconsistent. It is very quiet though.
Love this thing everything about if is wonderful description is spot on and it works as described. I use it on my Glowforge 3D laser unit which was so loud it sounded like a jet plane was taking off, this is a must have for all you Glowforgers out there.
It less noisy than the normal fan, but you can still hear it. It really doesn’t make much different impact on me if solely speaking of the noise aspect. The program setting that come with the fan is what really impressed me. It can detects the humidity and the temperature and adjust the fan level accordingly. You just need to read the instructions to do a proper set up. This function helps me save times and money in controlling the environment. You basically don’t need to buy another temperature and humidity monitor or having a auto control section set up separately.
The product works. Very easy to install. The important thing is that it works. My bathroom mirrors clear all the way. It comes on and turns off as per the program I chose. You can use the temp or humidity level. I chose the latter.
This works great getting heat into my man cave from the hot air duct from my coal furnace, easy install’ wires are plenty long enough for installation, Used a dryer vent to get the heat into the room.
Have not turned on the electric heat in that room since , will pay for itself this year I hope.
This has to be the best ventilation system I ever worked with it’s so quite and the settings on the pad are easy to understand I didn’t need the instructions That’s how easy this was the temp and humidity reader is accurate I used 3 other sources that has 100% accurate levels and it wasn’t off at all the temperature reader is extra long for people who need to reach a long distance I don’t know exactly the length but it looks like 15-20ft. Hands down the best ventilation system eve
Installed for my basement bathroom. I installed the control panel in the utility room (backside of bathroom) and put the sensor behind a dragon hook. The auto humidity control seems to work great based on my initial tests. The test will come in the upcoming weeks with company coming and high bathroom humidity.
Update:. More than a year later I am super happy with how this fan is working. This has completely eliminated my bathroom wall mold problem.
Great integrated controller/blower package in an attractive, easily installed form factor. I had been pricing the equivalent single component options for my application and the little premium for this package is well worth it to get a no-guesswork versitile solution. Using to move occasional unintended high temp air at ceiling peak of one room to another lower location where it is a benefit. Perfect Solution.
Great exhaust unit. Love the energy saving automation. Helps ensure the tent stays in the perfect range. I hope the manufacturer starts making a humidifier that will plug in and run off the humidity readings on the controller!! Would be great to have one controller to automated exhaust and the addition of humidity when that drops to low.
The fan works just fine. As for the temp/controller, that’s a different story. I like the fact it does in fact turn off/on to keep temp at posted degree. BUT just that it turns off then on(10 speed). It can’t keep it at a steady pace to keep temp at degree’s set. For instance at level 4 speed. Beside that major issue it’s work just fine.
10 autoflowers all in flowering in a 4×4 tent . Struggling with 99 percent high humidity and condensation with this fan so freaking quiet humidity dialed in around 60 percent all day and night only on setting 6,7 . Really happy with this product wouldnt hesitate to buy another one !
I love this fan the programming is fairly easy and the extra length of cord lets you have plenty of versatility. I would of perfected them to include some way to hang the fan I used some rope hangers and it worked ok but I’m sure they could include and make something better than rope hangers which I bought separately.
I bought these 2 fans to replace my other 2 inline fans that were extremely loud. They worked well bit very loud and no very efficient. I’m useing 2 of the 4inch ac infinity fans for a 4x4x6.5 grow tent. I bought one with the humidity controller and the other with just the fan controller speed. I definitely needed 2 if these bc I bought the first one and with my 400w led, and 1000w halide my temps were up to 93 when both were on
When the halide was off it went down to abt 88, still to high for my likeing. So I purchased a 2nd one and when both lights are on it dorsnt get over 88 and when the led is just in its abt 76/78 degrees. Si far I’m very happy with my purchases. If you would like to send me a 6inch fan to try and test I would be happy to promote your company and post my grow as it goes through the various stages. I can definitely promote your product if your willing to send me a free 6inch fan to try out to see if it’s something I would use for my gorilla grow. Thanks again for a quiet and efficient product so far 10 days in I’m happy with my 4inch fans.
Not often have I bought a product that impressed me as much as this duct fan. From the moment you open the box you know you are getting a quality well made product. From the packaging, to the fan and remote it is all top quality American made product. Noise level is fine for my installation, I can only hear it if the fan is on level 8-10 and I am close by (which I am not unless I try to be). The LED sensor and display are well built and easy to understand. Only thing I though could use a little improvement was the manual, I thought it was a little wordy and made the installation more difficult than it needed to be.
The probe does not read temp nor humidity well… I have to keep wiping it off… many other improvements I can tell you of to make this a more excellent product but that’s not my job. I’m willing to help with ideas but some sort of compensation would be jus
I will never use another exhaust fan again in fact I’m buying 2 more of these you can’t go wrong with the settings on the control panel perfect for those that need precise control over humidity and temperature ac infinity has me as a customer for life and all my fan needs
Must have for a grow tent. I just set it and forget it. Easy to set controller. Installation was easy i used zip ties instead of the straps it came with. This is a high quality inline fan. I would buy another one if needed.
It’s extremely quiet as advertised and does a great job of removing the air from a 2x4x5 tent. One downside was that you cannot connect a carbon filter directly to the fan, kept on slipping off no matter how much I tightened the duct ring. I had to use a 1-foot piece of duct to connect the two. Not a big deal unless you’re working with a small space.
his products works good, just wish i would’ve got the 6″ or 8″ instead. was in a 4×4 and upgraded to 5×5 and doesnt seem to do as well… but still good product for what you pay for!
My dryer vent run is over 20′ long and has to make a few turns. This claused slow drying and lint collection in the vent. After looking at several options I decided to go with this product and it makes a perfect dryer vent booster fan. The long lead to fan gave me plenty of distance from my dryer so that the air isnt quite so hot once it gets to the fan. The fan itself is quieter than my bathroom vent and settup was a breeze.
I ran the connection from the fan to the controller along the vent. Put an extra lint trap inline before the fan. A ton gets by the one in most dryers and I didn’t want lint collecting in the fan. (I will say that if it did need cleaning, it would be very easy to remove the center section to get to it. ) For the unit to work automatically, I simply poked a hole in the vent to put the temp/humidity sensor in. Set auto high temp to 95 degrees on the controller and it works amazingly well. Clothes now take a fraction of time to dry.
I bought this to pull the humid air out of my basement level. I have a walk out basement right on the ocean and so it gets incredibly humid and so I set this up to have it turn on automatically when the humidity level rise. I have it so that it pulls the air from down low at the floor level and discharges it outside. A friend had told me how great the Humidex system was that he had installed in his house. But when I researched the system I learned that all it really is exactly what I just described and so I ordered this fan and some flex duct instead. Works great for a fraction of the cost.
What an interesting concept to have a super quiet fan that works and makes no noise. I like the fact that it does that, but I also dislike the fact that it makes me wonder if I have turned it on or have turned it off when I shut off my projects. I have no clue what to make of the display though, it is extremely helpful to have but I haven’t the slightly idea on where to mount it or place it. The design is very much flawed though on the controller. I really would have liked to see a version that was able to be hooked onto a wall with a safety pin. This will give me the option to just hang the controller as oppose to cutting a hole into my wall then putting the controller in and resealing the wall. That’s my one and last comment on it, other than that the fan works great and functions very well.
This is definitely one of those starter kit worthy fans. I hate to say this is not that great, but it’s not the great for what I need it for, however after reading all the comments, I thought I would give my fair review. For the description that it gives on the website, I will say it is fairly accurate and meets the requirements of what I would call buying something as described. With that said, I think this is a great fan for someone that’s starting out and trying to get their own tent going. It is a good starter kit, don’t get me wrong the thing works just find if you match it up with the correct filters but if you want it to be powerful, you’ll need their stronger 8 inch fan. I like everything else about the product but I must say that there is always improvements that could be made to it.
I am impressed with the build quality of the blower and the thoughtful design of digital controller, enabling an emphasis on humidity or temperature control. We are using it circulate fresh air under an old house that has no crawl space, just enough gap to keep the timbers off the ground. I really like that it came with a 20 foot cord to power the blower. It gives added flexibility to the placement of the blower in relation to the controller. I only gave it four stars on the energy, not because of its low wattage, but I am waiting to see if one blower will do the trick. That being said, I am very happy with this purchase!
This product is very easy to install. I currently have it hanging on ratchet hangers in my grow tent. It has 10 speeds and I would considers 6 and below quiet. The display is very nice. You can set it up to constantly blow, turn on at certain temperatures/humidity levels, and timed. Will certainly consider buying another for an intake fan if it turns out I need one. It comes with the duct brackets.
Bought this to replace a loud cheap plastic fan i had running as an exhaust on a grow tent that was in my bedroom. This is built very well and i love the heads up display that i can keep on the outside of the tent. It shows me the current temperature and humidity- and allows me to adjust on a scale from 1-10 on the fan’s speed. The metal frame is much quieter than the cheap plastic one i had been using.
It is expensive, but you’re getting what you pay for.
Bought this fan to be used to blow air into a BedJet Cloud sheet. This fan along with its thermostat and some tubing from the local hardware store works great with the official cloud sheet. Spent around $275 to get the whole thing working vs the $500 or so I would have spent for the real BedJet. So far so good. The fan is really quiet and does not get hot at all. Very well recommended!
I’m glad I made this purchase. First off it’s easy to install and is super quiet. I also love the LED monitor that controls the fan, also reads temp/humidity and it’s easy to use. I like how there is an alarm feature that will increase fan speed to expell heat/humidity. Only draw back is, that this doesn’t come in a combo set. Fan, carbon filter and ducting have to purchased separate.
Relatively quiet. Moves a good amount of air. Digital controller is really easy to use and I love having temperature and humidity display.
I keep a second hygrometer in my tent and it seems pretty accurate.
I don’t use it in automotive temp/humidity mode because I’ve never had to – – but having a digital controller is worth the extra money if you ask me.
Definitely recommend.
Wasn’t quite sure on a good brand of ventilation fans/systems when I started searching. Went with the Ac Infinity Cloudline T4 model. Wow, I was not let down. Superior quality especially for the price. It’s super quiet. The auto setting is a big seller with me. Works perfect after calibration and has been running 24/7. So far no noise, vibration, burning smells or anything else, just pure fresh air. I do recommend this as I am buying the T6 next time for a larger grow room. The T4 is in a 2×4 grow tent and works perfect for that size. Good luck and happy gardening
came in undamaged, shipped box in a box, features seem to be adequate, need to use for awhile to see if I’m happy or not. bought to ventilate a grow tent. be nice to have two straps for soft mount option inside tent. I used zip ties! Works! Oh was not very noisy but I used a Visosun muffler with this. Can’t say how noisy it is without the muffler. I don’t imagine that it gets any louder than a high end computer’s fans. I would buy it again.
I saw this online before going to a Hydro supply. They had fans but nothing close to this. This is the one though. All automated, all electronic and well constructed. It is mostly modular, so it allows custom application very easily. Honestly, all i can say is, GET THIS ONE. Dont waste your time with the cheap ones. They are loud, they have no smart controls like this. Its all digital, all programmable. Ron Popeil Type Shiz, Set it and forget it. Its that easy. I am not very mechanically proficient, but i was able to construct this very easily. Cant picture, but the site and manuf. site have all the pics and vids you need to sell you. Plus i would bet money that this is going to be your favorite toy after you get it, its mine now!
I think this product works great. I’ve bought two already. After using them for some time I’m pleased for the most part. I have a few complaints, but will still rate 4 stars. The temp/humidity reader isn’t very accurate. Also being able to control its settings by humidity would be a good feature to add. Other than that it’s quite, and even just as an exhaust fan it’s fantastic, and I’d prefer one over its competitors (particularly when it comes to sound).
Great product! One downfall is the fan can be a bit noisy when turned all the way up. Keep in mind Automatic mode will kick the fan in full blast when the threshold temp is reached. I think a gradual increase in fan speed as temps reach closer to your threshold temp would help better keep a consistant environment.
This is my 2nd fan I also have a 6″ and they both work great. It’s actually one of the few things I’ve bought lately that actually works as advertised. If I could change anything I wish that you could have a minimum fan setting. But I’m sure I will buy more Of their Products in the future.
I use it in a 2’x4’x6′ grow tent and it works great even with the carbon filter. When I first got it it was preset for max speed of fan at number 6 and I was going to send it back. Checking through the settings I found it has higher speeds. Very good instructions, but they do not tell you how many speed selections it has. I have only had it at 8 and it moves enough air for my tent. I set it on auto while the lights are on and at a slower speed constantly on when the lights are off just to keep the air circulating.
If you are considering an automatic grow room system this is the ONE. Purchased this unit for a 6×8 grow room with heat and humidity problems. In 48 hour all concerns are gone, very quietly. This is only product on Amazon that has a digital controller that takes care of everything and I have more time for other things. Check it out and compare with regular old time products and you will easily make up your mind to purchase one these units. This is a great product and I highly recommend it. PS: Just a tip, for the first 24 hours I forgot to remove the plastic sensor probe cap which is clearly labeled to remove! Of course the unit will not work correctly. Just saying.
Great product with great customer support. I let my probe get more than “damp,” and they were there to make sure I was back on me feet in no time. Product works well, it doesn’t create too much suction because of the bypass design; however, it is very quiet and works well at low rpm.
I work for a residential contractor and needed a quiet fan to provide fresh air into a meeting room. I selected this fan because of my familiarity with inline fans and how I would install it. This fan is QUIET! The controller is super simple to understand and use and really makes adjusting the amount of air simple. Great product.
Minor issue is humidity setting, the sensor was going back and forth 1% causing the unit to turn on and off and I believe from this cycling, it started beeping constantly. I could not find a deadband adjustment. It doesn’t appear I have hit this sensitivity on temp yet.
Other than that, this had been my maintainer for my grow tent, filter is on the intake with zero issues, filters say they can go both ways but always put on intake, there’s a considerable difference.
The unit has done an amazing job protecting the plants from high heat and humidity, peace of mind when I’m not home.
Overall I rated this as a four. It’s about what I expected with a power / noise trade off
I was disappointed in the controller. All three of the wires attach under the controller (not out the back) so it can’t be flush mounted. I have to mount it on the face of the wall, with the wired coming out the bottom and then through a hole in the wall. Not attractive. So it it’s out the back of a tent or something it’s no big deal, but if you are going to see it in a finished room, it can be a bit of an eyesore. The extra flush mount controller that they sell doesn’t work on this !#@)!*#*&!
The fan is pretty quiet but it’s a trade off. Low enough where it’s really quite, and you get no air movement. Crank it up, and it’s a bit noisy. Not very annoying, but you can hear it.
Bought this to replace my vivosun 4 inch inline which wasnt doing anything for my 2×2 tent. So much better than what I was previously using. The t series comes with a controller that allows you to set temp/hum setpoints and it tells the fan when to speed up and when to slow down. Theres 10 speed settings and it’s super quiet on lower settings and around speed 7 you’ll hear some air. If you’re used to sleeping with fans then shouldn’t have a problem with noise from this fan. Had to figure out the automatic feature after some playing around with as theres not much info or at least I couldn’t find without calling the manufacturer but once figured out haven’t had to do any corrective actions when temps and hum shift throughout the day. Also the t series controller allows 2 same sized fans to be used at the same time so if need to move more air but dont want to get a bigger fan, can just buy another fan and double your cfh. Only downside is they don’t sell a filter with it but do make a filter albeit quite expensive considering theres a million filters that are cheaper and probably work as good. People have complained it doesn’t have enough umph but I’ve had no problems with the fan being able to hold its own. I have the 4 inch fan on my 2×2 tent and 6 inch on my 4×4 te
I was searching for a product that I could use to help ventilate my network closet at my house. I was aware of their AC infinity fan systems that are very popular in the home lab space, but hadn’t seen anyone using the cloudline blowers in their set ups. I originally wanted to use the fans, but the closet doors are louver doors and there was no way to really mount them and still have it be visually appealing. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this purchase and I have not been disappointed.
Pros:
– It’s quiet on most settings. When you get up to fan speeds 8-10 it does start making noise, but that may be more to do with the ducting rather than the fan it self.
– The fan controller is excellent. it’s pretty intuitive to use. If you want to turn it off the display, push the eco mode button on the right
– It comes with two duct clamps in the box
– Documentation made installation a breeze
– It moves a lot of air!
Cons:
– Get’s noisier on the higher speed levels
– I wish the fan controller could be mounted in the wall. It may be able to be, but i haven’t really found away. Not a deal breaker by any means though
Overall I am very happy with it. Would definitely buy again.
This little fan (the T4) runs like a dream and as advertised. It keeps my 4×4 grow tent at a stable temperature and humidity range (I highly recommend the model that includes the Temp/Humidity Controller). It’s quiet, yet pushes air the entire length of the 25 foot ducting I attached to it. Comes with easy mounting instructions. Highly recommended!
The AC Infinity Cloudline inline fans are well made and quiet, I am very satisfied with the fan itself. However, the $40 electronic controller which adds about 50% to the total cost is useless if this is the primary or only fan. I prefer some ongoing ventilation 24/7 for the “ladies” health but the electronic controller only turns the fan on or off depending upon the temperature…it will not run at a slower rate and then bump up as the temperature or humidity rises. You have to set the fan speed manually. The electronics can be useful as a second separate inline fan combo keeping one fan running 24/7 and the second coming on if the temperature or humidity increases.
Super quiet, moves air well , user friendly. I have high ceilings by my kitchen so the rooms get hot upstairs when we use the ovens. I use it to push the air from the bedroom areas. I can see several other uses for this Item but love that its so quiet and can be controled with settings . Set it and forget i
It is a great little fan that is quiet and easy to use, though sometimes an alarm has come on and the fan fails to initiate. The alarm is not related to any of the preset alarm types in the menu, and is only resolved by a reboot of the controller.
If i could control two units with individual setting for each on the controller i might buy a second one.
This system is excellent. Wasn’t sure if I could swing the cost until I saw the product and its functionality for myself, but very glad I did.
Best feature, besides being relatively silent (a massive change from my 6in cheap vent fan), is the temperature and power control unit that I can keep outside the tent – I can check temps inside my growing space at a glance without even opening it up.
Have been using it for the past month, no complaints – fully satisfied.
I finally have a good balance of airflow between the two tents. The first one used to have too much air because of how strong the last fan was. This fan however has the controllers I need to make sure everything is the exactly the temperatue I set it at. The fan on these are also very quiet for a fan of it’s size. The mounts are nice and the cover is even better, I would recommend again.
This fan works well for me the past few months now. The motors have been very smooth and there is still no sign of any issues thus far. The controllers are great, I have mine at the same high and low temperatures for a while now. I think fan overall is actually very quiet compared to the other brands that are available for purchase, but you can see for yourself. The mounting kit that it includes was used and I am pleased with the results.
Top quality fan for a fair price. These fans have the perfect balance between performance and quality. The fans do really well even at high speed settings, but I am more impressed by the detail of the overall design. The controller provides for a smart experience with this fan and you can program it to your liking. The sensors helps automate your overall process and the buttons are easy to use and feels good to push. I like the display on the controllers as well, it is big enough to see from far away. The settings are not but that’s okay because you only have to set it up and leave it alone. Happy camper here, will buy again in the future for my expansion.
Nice fan, whisper quiet, the thermostat controller is a great feature and functions well. It’s not the strongest fan, but it works well enough in my 4’x4’x6’11” tent. I had an issue where the fan was turning off at night due to temps and my humidity would be like 99% every morning, but the new version addressed this issue with a humidity probe and smart controls integrated.

This is a great, super quiet fan. I’m using it inside a “VIVOSUN 36″x36″x72″” grow tent and I love the fan on/off automation based on the temperature probe. Previously I was using the manual “VIVOSUN 4 Inch 203 CFM Inline Duct Fan” which was very loud (50+ dB/decibels) and had no temperature probe to help the fan kick on/off based on the temps throughout the day within the tent.
This is probably the best inline fan for a small grow tent on Amazon based on my research.
I gave this 4 stars because of a couple small items that I think can be improved:
1. when the fan temperature probe reaches the temperature threshold, is turns itself on but it will run at a speed you preset from the ON mode. So your presetting the speed it will run at when it kicks on which may or many not be adequate to reduce the temperature in a tent. It would be better if the fan kicked on when it reaches the temperature threshold but then slowly ramps itself up over time if the temperature is not decreasing fast enough. This functionality probably would have been difficult to implement with the control panel display thing thats bundled with the product.
2. Mobile app – it would be nice if there was a mobile app integrated with this fan so you could remotely monitor the temps and also setup a setting like I described above – slowly ramp up the fan speed if the temperatures are not decreasing within X minutes.
3. When I initially installed the fan and turned ON, it would try to spin but would stop as if it wasn’t getting enough power. The control panel displayed a little triangle with exclamation mark and per the manual that means something is not right and call customer support (no troubleshoot tips). I checked the fan and tried spinning the blades manually but it was sticking. I had to dismantle (how its described in the instructions when you wall mount it) and I found that the “wing circle” part was loose and causing the blades to rub. After fixing this and re-assembling it worked fine.
Overall very happy with the product. I imagine another upgrade of this fan that includes a mobile app would really put it far ahead of other inline fans out there.
The product performs better than expected. The motor is very quiet due to a system called pulse width modulation and it also makes the fan more energy efficient in doing so, due to less drag on the bearings. The controller has many features but I wouldn’t call it smart until it is connected to wifi and integrated with alexa or google. The overall performance has been good the past few days and will update if any issues arise in the future.
This product has met my expectations. I just finished installing this product in the attic and everything was a done with relative ease. The controller was mounted to a side panel I have, and the sensor was taped to the side of the plank. The noise level on this fan is very quiet compared to another similar product I purchased on amazon. The controller also helps keep the product running at maximum energy efficiency.
I purchased this fan to drive flow through a solar air collector. With the way the controller works, it is the perfect setup for my application!
The unit is well built, and there is an attention to detail rarely seen in a product like this. From the excellent packaging, to in depth instructions, there is no question of the pride the manufacturer has in their product. The fan blades are even balanced at the factory!
Good stuff!
This is a unique product in the market. The controller is something that I’ve never seen before for these types of duct fans. The fan itself does a good job at blowing air from one room to the next but the controller has a temperature sensor that allows it to change the speed or turn it on and off based on that set temperature. Many other products out there do not seem to offer this simple feature. Good buy, will recommend to others.
The controller worked well out of the box, the final finishes on there was very smooth and the installation was easy. The motor does perform as stated by the manufacture and the noise that you hear is relatively quiet to it’s speed. I’ve had other fans that were much louder but did not perform as well. Good for my use case application, the fan does its job of circulating air fast, and the noise level that I measured was at 27 dBA. Not bad at all.
This fan was installed to help get the air circulating faster inside my washer and dryer room. The t4 was mounted right along the wall and the controller was mounted the side of the outside wall. The fan speed is as described and the airflow is measuring at 150 cfm roughly. The noise level was relatively low and the sensor for the temperature was correct within +/- 1 degree. I would recommend for install with any home improvement projects that needs an duct fan or a duct fan booster of sort.
Worth every penny, no vibration, super quiet, kewl control head. Only CON,, power supply output cord is 3′ or less from supply to control head. Other cables maybe 8’+… I highly recommend the AC Infinity line of fans and ducting. The quality and workmanship is worth the extra $$$.
I have a 4″ ipower as well,, 2x as loud at half speed, vibration is ridiculous, exhaust noise is REALLY LOUD..
Not gonna lie, I did not have a high expectations of this product at first because of some of the reviews that I saw. I’m happy to report that I am not one of those unfortunate few that were disappointed with their purchases. I think the fan runs well, but the controller needs to be reworked a little bit, to have bigger and easier to see buttons. I have bad eyesight and the black background on the white graphics does not help for me. Other than that everything else is good and performs well.
I think this is one of my best purchases yet. I chose this because of the led display controller and the fact that it was black and has a metal framing around the edges. The airflow on this was way better than anything I could have found at home depot. It’s been working well for a few weeks now and the bracket that came with it holding strong. I would recommend and give it an A rating. Good framing overall, and the mount on the bottom made it easy to stick to the side of the wall.
This is just fine, not much else to say beyond that. Not sure how other people can say they love this thing. If something works like it should then you give it a five star and you keep it there until it breaks, then you lower the rank to 3 star. Hopefully I will be able to keep this one at 5 stars for now, I don’t want to have to get a replacement.
Bought many other products from this company and I will say this is one of my favorite purchases so far. It’s exactly what I was looking for and the controller on this things makes me feel like I should be paying much more for this product but no complaints here for the price that they are selling it for and still being able to make money out of it. Yup, that’s it, not much else to say other than you get what you pay for, just be cautious of the cheaper products out there, they tend to break a lot faster.
I thought the fan had issues at first, but it just turns out to be a faulty outlet of mine. I installed this for place about 2 months ago and finally getting around to putting a review. I think amazon does a pretty good job with recommendations and knowing what I like. This was recommended to me when I was looking for a duct fan and I’m glad I got this one, because I will have to say it delivers on all fronts, it’s as quiet or as loud as you want it to be. The fan will rip your hand off if you are not careful, that’s how strong it is. I did end up getting 1 other one as of writing this review though because my setup needs to be extended to cover the back of the house. Well worth the money on a nice looking quality product. Good job amazon.
I would recommend buying the T6 if you need a stronger fan. This is as good as it gets and as advertise if you’re looking for a fan of a certain speed and sound level. I think for what I have at home, the fan is doing it’s job, so I give it a 5 for it working as it should and having a nice design. I guess that’s what I was paying for, was the nicer design and better quality. We’ll see how it does in a few months.
Honestly I’m blown away with the quality of this fan there are no other fans on the market that come close to the quality and efficiency of the ac infinity fans I’m using mine for a grow tent and the smart function is awesome truly a money saver dont waste your money on cheap junk these systems are top of the line I only wish I ordered 2! I’m going to go with the 6″ version for exhaust and 4″ for Intake cant beat it great company great product very happy customer.
Don’t waste your money on other brands and pony up the extra for the Cloudline. I tried multiple duct fans over the years in the $40-60 range, and they were all noisy and died after a year or so. The Cloudline is not only practically silent, the build quality is phenomenal, as is the packing and instructions. Just buy it.
On the AC Infinity website, this CLOUDLINE T4 is listed as (AVAILABLE SOON, PRE-ORDER NOW) and “Expected release date October 5,” but I recently purchased it here on Amazon’s website on September 17 and delivered as usual 2-day Prime delivery. Included with this product is a speed controller that resembles to the “AC Infinity CONTROLLER 2,” which can also be ordered separately for about 40% of the cost of this product – but this version has MOLEX style connectors to the fan rather than the USB connectors of the CONTROLLER-2. AC Infinity is planning a similar product called CLOUDLINE S4 that appears to have a simpler speed control and is listed at 20% cheaper, but I can’t buy it yet that I can find. The S-series products are generally also add-on fans for T-series products.
I’m installing this fan as a remote fan (located under the eaves of my house) to exhaust high humidity air from my glass-enclosed shower with a steam generator. There’s no attic space over my shower, so this configuration gets me a quiet fan that accessible for servicing without tearing out my roof. For this application, the plastic construction is ideal. It’ll be a bit of time before my house is finished and I can battle-test it. So far, I’ve assembled and bench-tested the fan, and working on getting it installed. I plan to come back and add a picture of the installation when I’ve got it in place. It’s impressively quiet in bench-testing and appears to move enough air for me. The rated top rate of 150 CFM is comparable to the performance of the Panasonic fan that I’ve got in the same bathroom for the rest of the room.
For what I need, i’d prefer to have a fan that’s controllable by humidity rather than temperature, so I’ll probably be using the control box only to set the fan speed. I’ve got a separate humidity controller (Inkbird IHC-200, though the Willhi WH-1436 looks like it would also work) to turn on the fan when the humidity is high that controls an AC outlet, so I can put that in front of the fan’s power supply module that feeds 12V to this fan’s fancy controller box. That has the disadvantage that the fancy controller box is powered off and blank until the humidity goes up, so I could instead use the humidity controller with a relay to cut the power going to the fan. I’ll have to experiment some to make that work, as detailed below.
The AC Infinity CLOUDLINE T4 has uses a molex-style fan connector, but the manual doesn’t seem to discuss what the four conductors are for. As the controller runs off 12V, and the connector resembles the molex connectors used in PC, I’m hoping that the controller uses PWM to modulate the fan speed and sends 12V & GND to the fan, though it could also be 5V & GND considering that they’ve got similar controllers with USB connectors. I’d welcome documentation on what the interface between the controller and than fan really is. If my guess is correct, I could try to use a RASPI or perhaps a DMX LED module to control the fan speed without the ACI controller box.
The construction of the fan itself looks fairly solid. Everything in the kit is black: fan, the 4-inch duct adapter, wires, controller, even the 12V power supply. My one ding (took off a star) is that the clips that fasten the duct adapter to the fan are not attached to the adapter itself, are under strong tension, making them hard to remove and tend to fly away when pulled off. I’ve also got two Vortex duct fans, the 6-inch and 10-inch, and the style of clips that they use work nicely – if “Andy from AC Infinity,” who solicited this review after my undiscounted purchase here on Amazon is truly serious about product quality – this is an important thing to improve. I hope not to muck with those clips very often, but I’m worried about those clips getting lost when I do.
I’m mounting this fan at a bit of an angle, to nestle it under the eaves of my roof, so I’m taking ACI at their word that the dual ball bearings allow this to be mounted in “any orientation.” If that turns out to be an issue, I’d have to rework the installation to be vertical or horizontal, the way I set up my Vortex fans. I’ll come back and update this review if that turns out to be the case.
If I woke up in AC Infinity heaven, I’d love to have a controller that could sense humidity and kick in after a 20-30 minute delay, but that’s not in the specification, so it’s not fair to ding it over that, and I’ll be rolling my own system to accomplish that. I only wish that the controller-to-fan electrical interface was better documented in the manual to make this easier. The thermal sensor of the controller appears to do a good job modulating the speed of the fan in my bench testing – On the “AUTO” setting, when the temperature sensor matches the controller set-point, the fan is off, and for each degree or two that the temperature sensor is above the set-point, the fan kicks up a notch, reaching full speed about ten degrees or so above the set-point. The controller also has manual speed settings and an adjustable high temperature alarm. The controller has a very pretty illuminated display, which can also be turned off with the “leaf” button. The cables are all of a reasonable length, but if you need to extend the cables, you’ll need a variety of cables and connector types. There’s no apparent mechanism to prevent backflow through the fan, a feature that I’ve seen in other ventilation products, so if you need it, you’ll have to have a separate spring-loaded backflow component. Alternatively, you might consider keeping the fan running at a low speed to avoid backflow.
A/c Infinity has the intake exhaust fan world on lock down right now these fans are super quite and accurate amazon is great at replacing your fan if anything would happen … I hate the fact that you cant link different size fans to one controller this is my only complaint so f you end up with a 6in and a 4in or intake and exhaust youll have 2 Thermostat pods to plug in just ends up making myset up look a little ghetto and it shouldent at all for this kind of money my only complai
Too expensive for what it is. I’m using it to get fresh air into a 3×3 grow tent. In hindsight – I realize I could get something comparable for a lot less.
However – if this is going into a home theater – it’s definitely worth the money because it is very quiet – the display is nice – and the temperature sensor is reliable.
So good for home theater – not so much for grow tents / attics / basements etc
ive professionally set this up in my 31″ h x 96″ x 22″ w veg cab, this unit takes quietness to a whole new level…super lightweight which means a bonus for cheap grow tents , i highly recommend this fan to use on small tents and closets, im about to get a 6″ model for my fruit closet..great fans and service
Light weight, quiet, perfect for my installation in a small laundry room with stacked Bosch washer/dryer. The units put off a lot of heat and this was perfect for a small room. So quiet, you cannot hear it running with either the washer or dryer running. It is a whisper by itself. Beware, you must configure some time of mounting bracket for the control panel. I used a 1×6 which I cut the front plate and shelf. Worked well, quick and easy. 2 hours for everything.
Works perfectly. Hope it lasts. High expectations thus far.
I got this fan to push air from an upstairs room to a downstairs room. I put the fan in the downstairs room, ran a duct to the upstairs room. I found that, out of the box, it was too noisy upstairs. The noise through the vent upstairs was way too much for me. What I did was to make a silencer for the draw side, directly off the fan. This made a big difference, dropping the reading on my decibel meter from 80 at the fan when set on high, to around 64. At the vent upstairs it is now very quiet. The muffler reduces the airflow, though. I’m still working on the setup, so I might get it a bit better. I intended to run the fan at it’s slowest speed.
The controls are really nice.
Bought it to replace my inline home Depot fan I paid 50 bucks for (I hated it). The cloudine is sooooo quiet with a computer controlled interface that works great. I would say get the 6 inch if you have anything bigger than a closet or 8 if you want to do a room size. Seriously I have no idea how this thing is this quality for this price.
This is just what I needed to keep enclosed under stairway area ventilated. I was able to set it up by plugging into a timer so that it comes on once a day for an hour. The fan setting is remembered each time it power is applied. (kept in “on” setting with selected fan speed) It is quiet and easy to install. Nice to be able to mount the control outside from the enclosed area for easy access.
I’m using this to vent my laundry room and it’s been doing well so far. I have the probe attached to the dryer and the fan will turn on by itself as soon as it gets hot enough. Very little to complain about for this product, besides the price. Only wish it was a little bit cheaper, but I suppose you get what you paid for, a quality product that delivers on performance and design.
When you have a paint studio like I do, you want to make sure the fumes are not staying in the room very long and I would say this fan has done a good job at doing just that. The gas was gone quickly after I turned the fan on, and I hardly heard it. I like the design of the fan and the controller, since black is my favorite color. I think the temperature probe was unnecessary for what I needed. However I do wish I can control it with my phone and it would be nice if I had the option to sense something more than just the temperature, but if it allowed me to sense the fume level, and the fan would turn on automatically if there was too much fumes in the room. Another idea is if the seller had the option for moisture levels, I would like to use it to get rid of excess water under the fridge. Just an idea if anyone is reading this.
After looking at all the other fans on the website, I found this fan to be just what I needed. I installed it on my server rack setup in the office. Good bye to all the overheated equipment and all the random resets. The only thing I wish it had was a longer probe for the temperature, so I can have it closer to where the servers are. Other than that everything else works well.
The fan definitely delivered the performance I needed and it worked just as described. Right now I just use it with my garage and it helps suck all the hot air out during the late afternoon and when my car is in the garage. The fan currently is hooked up to a tp-link smart plug and I just turn it on from my phone as needed. Working great so far, but we’ll see how it performs overtime. Just remember that if you need something more powerful I would recommend getting the bigger fan, otherwise this will do the job for you.
This was my first time buying this type of fan and I am pleasantly surprise at its performance. I was expecting the fan to be louder than it is at the maximum speed, but turns out it was pretty quiet. I like the controller, and the temp probe it comes with. The whole setup was very straight forward and it fits just right. It would be nice if other people read the descriptions properly and read what they bought, I almost didn’t buy it because of some of the reviews. Totally worth the extra few bucks for the performance and quality of this fan.
The design of the controller and the fan is good and this is the first time trying a fan that is 4 inch. I thought I may need more power but this did the trick. It looks like the issue with airflow is depended on the size of the fan as well as the settings on the controller. For best performance I suggest you test all the settings and noise level to your liking first before mounting it. I think what I would like to see a way to save the settings or to have it automatically go back to the setting that I had it on before once the power turns back on. Other than that, the overall experience has been very good and I will be trying the larger version for my next purchase.
If you don’t need high CFM this is a great exhaust fan, I have a carbon filter, 5′ of ducting, and a air duct muffler. This moves enough air to keep my space cool enough without noticing any static pressure issues.
I use the fan on smart auto and set to 84 degrees. Sometimes my room is nice and chilly and the fan speed drops down to a whisper speed that you can hardly hear it.
When it gets warmer the fan speed increases to compensate, this feature is amazing.
The alarm setting is nice as well though I wish it was a bit louder.
Now to the only problem I have found with this fan, when power is lost the controller reset all of my settings. Not a big deal right?
Well I was not home when my power went out.
When I got home I went into my room to check on things and that’s when I noticed it was over 90 degrees in there.
Well power was lost and it kept my temperatures but it changed from farenheit to Celsius. So 80 degrees Celsius for the fan speed and 90 degrees Celsius for the alarm. As you can imagine that is really hot and the fan did not come on and the alarm never sounded.
Unfortunately I think I’ll need to buy a backup battery for this fan as I can’t really afford to have my room temperatures get that high again.
It is quiet, but not as powerful as similar products. It’s a trade off. If you really need quiet and not too much air movement, then this will work. For AV and electronic uses, this is good for quiet cooling. For agro uses or exhausting larger spaces, you may need to use two. The controller will control tow, but I don’t think you can order the fan separately. I also worry about durability with the all plastic housing, but the last fan I used — all metal, seemingly built like a tank — lasted less than a year. Here’s hoping this one lasts longer.
Look, not a review guy. But i am a tech head and this piece of hardware and to be honest, the brand itself spurred this review, AC infinty is the king of fans period. Im sorry, its undeniable, ive purchased their 120mm fans and this T4. I wont ever buy another brand of fan for anything. They have air movement solutions within their products that flat out fit any application or intention. Look at their product line and tell me they dont have something that will do it. And with a slick ass modernized look might i add. Anyway, on to the T4. Depending on what your trying to do, within its rated specs, this thing has the horsepower. Period. I see reviews that say this cant suck through a carbon filter etc, False. Handles it with ease at 2. 3 and 4 i use more but im a freak and dont want my baby wearing herself down at low speeds when she doent have to. People say it makes a noise after the break in period. Might be true but it is no way obtrusive nor louder than the sound of the air this thing is blowing so i dont get the neg on that, thing still rums quiter than my pc gaming fps titles, so get real. Ac infin is top of the line, dood cares about his product and it shows through his design and customer service. This company deserves exposure.
I think this was one of the more expensive in-line ventilation fans that I researched but I’m glad that I chose it. It’s worked very well as the main ventilation solution for my AV closet, and it’s given me zero problems from day one. I like the SMART mode, which adjusts the fan speed based on the current air temperature and the target temperature that you specify on the digital screen/control panel. Overall, it’s very well made, reasonably quiet, included useful installation and operation instructions… I’m pleased with it and have no regrets.
i use this to cool the small area under my stairs where i keep my server gear. works wonders. very easy to use and configure. it can move a huge amount of air at full blast. for my needs i do not go above ~30-40% power. at the lower levels you cannot hear a thing, but at full blast the noise can be noticeable depending on where it is located and where the exhaust is being blown
Update: 6/21/2020: bought it September 15, 2017, and it has been on 24/7 at 40% power and is still going strong. no issues.
I got this item with the suggested add-on products. I like the quality of this inlet, the suction power is just what I need and the noise level is very low. The controller was the main reason I bought this over the other duct fans out there. It is one of the better controllers I have seen on the market today, and well beyond the industry standard. Very quick to set up and easy to use, hoping this one will perform better than the other brands.
I love This product being a Hvac Professional we’ve used every booster fan on market and let me tell you that you won’t be disappointed. This 4 inch model triples airflow and velocity to move heated/cooled air and static pressure no problem in a ducted system. All the small complaints of no install instructions come on its super simple follow flow of directions air moves mount and setup based off what you want and need. The small harmonic noises will be a trade off but what exhaust booster fan that moves air doesn’t make a noise none on market period. If you don’t have small harmonic noises it’s not moving enough air. Also when the homes Heat or Ac comes on it’s noisey as well.Install with cork tape or gasket and cork made for screws and noises calm down but no matter what it’s a great trade off for better comfort and these fans are all we will buy.The bigger the fan the more air because 4 inch duct can only handle so many Cfm so if possible and you want even more air moved install a 6″ and it will move air like a 10 inch pipe with no problems.
My ducts now have the proper airflow. It does the job well, and the controller is well made, but I would like to see the buttons be more apart from each other and with bigger buttons if it is possible. It is definitely quiet if I were to compare to similar fans in the marketplace, however you do get what you pay for since this unit is priced a little bit higher than the other units available on amazon.
Not bad for the price. This duct fan has done it’s job well, so far I am only using it to get extra ventilation for my kitchen area. I mounted the controller inside the wall and it is easy to use. I really like the speed, sound, and quality of the fan. No issues so far, but we will see how it does in the long run in a cooking intensive environment.
My likes include the packaging, fan noise was as described, and the look of it felt more high end than the other products available in the market today. My only dislike is the price, if it was only 5-10 dollars less I would be very happy, but I guess you get what you pay for. A quiet, well made fan that is going to perform as expected. Hopefully this one doesn’t die out after a few months like the other brands out there. Five stars for now, unless I run into issues in the future.
Very quiet and trouble free. The only thing I havent figured out is how to program the controller. But I am simply using it to keep my grow tent at a constant temperature.
Areas of improvement:
1. The temperature probe is a fixed length. There is no way to increase its length. This eliminates its usability in several scenarios. (large grow tents for instance)
2. The user manual isn’t as good as it could be. It is not easy or intuitive to program the controller.
Otherwise it is a fantastic product that works out of the box with minimal issues.
Power-efficient, very good air driving for the power, elegant and tough (I use it to exhaust hot air from my garage during summer, paired with this excellent vent P-tec Products Inc NPVW No-Pest Vent . It worked well for long hours and long days this summer, and continues to do so.
I really praise the control panel, both for design and functionality.
Decently quiet. Its 3-part design (main unit, and the two vent connectors make installation and servicing/cleaning very convenient.
The motor is a low-amp 12 V DC, so you can run the power feed through walls/cabinets/etc. without concern.
One caveat: the connector between the temperature probe and the control panel is fairly short (about 6 ft = 1.8 m). Be aware of that when you plan your installation.
Seems very well made, has great instructions, definite energy savings versus AC fan of same flow, comes with all hardware except ducting. Would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that the very nice control/display unit does not have a means to turn off the display which is a big negative as some plants require uninterrupted dark periods. Put a piece of dark tape over it, but shouldn’t have to. A light sensor that turns off the display when it’s dark would be nice or a switch to turn it on for a couple of minutes when you want to adjust it. Even with this shortcoming I highly recommend it for its quality construction and the energy savings from the PWM design.
Update 06/19/2017: As I age I’d like to think that I might learn to read all of the instructions. AC Infinity is on top of things and has pointed out that if you press ECO button it will turn off the display and continue to operate as programmed. It is in the instructions but I didn’t see it as it is pretty intuitive to set up. Would still like to see it with a light sensor. Anyway, I now give it 5 stars and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for vent fan.
I really like the features of this fan. I’m using it in a 2x4x5 grow tent with a 4 inch carbon filter and a 450 watt led and a 300 watt led. The problem I have is the temp gets up to 88 F while lights are on, I can turn on a/c and the temp will drop, but temp in house is 70 – 73 already. I just feel that this fan pulling through a carbon filter is not enough air flow to keep temp down. In the description it stated to be used as exhaust with carbon filter, would be 5 Stars for sure if it moved more air. By the way, this thing is very quiet as well. Just needs to move more air. The control panel is very cool, I like it as well.
Update:
After checking some things out, the blower control panel always reads 5 F cooler than the Accu Rite Hydrometer/Thermometer, what I have found is the Accu Rite while laying down near the canopy will absorb heat and actually heat up more than the actual temp. So 88 F – 5F=83 F that is an acceptable temp for me. That’s why I’m changing my rating to 5 Stars! A word of advice, trust the fan temp probe over the Accu Right meter.
Update:
Also this blower is only rated at 150 cfm, so I guess I shouldn’t expect it to be like a jet engine. I did contact AC Infinity, asking about running a 2nd blower off the control panel (it has 2 spaces to plug in 2 blowers). They said they might start offering a package with 2 blower units, or offer just a blower unit seperate. That would be great! If you are looking for stealth, this unit would be great with 2 blowers!
I’ve been doing hundreds of exhaustfansinstallationsover the last decade as a hvac tech. Most of thesefanshave been noisy and cheaply made. I am often embarrassed to turn thefanson for my clients after installation because of the loud noises. However this has been the pleasant exception. For my latest project I was asked to exhaust heated air from the client’s furnace in the TV room to the bedroom upstairs. I attached the included thermostat controller to thefanand had it pull in the fireplace air automatically whenever the temperature of the fireplace higher than 97f. I love how thefanswere so quiet that my client thought they were not running and had me check on the wiring.
Now that I think about it, thisfanwill actually nicely for woodstoves, fireplaces, and basically anywhere you need to improve the heating and cooling between rooms. I will be using ac infinityfansfor my future installations.
I was a bit skeptical when I first came across this fan because I did not need the temperature capabilities for my application. I use several budget steel tube fans to exhaust out the fumes for my paint work. They performed great but they never lasted more than a couple months and they were loud. The ones that advertised being quiet turned out to be noisy and even with a speed controller there’s a loud humming.
After using this infinity fan for some time now, I believe I had made the right choice. First of all, it really is quieter than steel tube fans. It’s the only duct fan that I would consider to be truly quiet. I am now able to do some projects in the kitchen without complaints from my SO. There are 6 speeds on the fancy digit controller it came with and I can adjust the amount of air moved with the press of a button. It’s a great design and I am glad I made the switch.
Did exactly what I needed it to do and does it smart. I recently began experimenting with growing some medicinal herbs in Apollo 4′ by 4′ by 7′ tent but it was getting to hot. Even with one portable ACs blowing right outside and two fans inside, it stayed at a constant 76 degrees. So I mounted this fan next to the tent and attached a 4″ duct tube with a carbon filter (to get rid of the noxious odors) into the tent. The controller’s probe runs into the tent and when the temperature hits 74 degrees, the fans kicks on to pull the hot air from inside and out of the tent. I have it in smart mode so it adjusts the speed of the fans automatically. I can’t hear the fans running most of the time but when I check on it, sure enough there is air being pulled out. My babies are now healthy and happy with the amount of cool fresh air they get.
