A GREAT PIECE OF KIT.
Being an 83 year old I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew. I found that this was not so when I cut off branches from an Oak tree I have at the bottom of my garden, it did the job and letting the saws weight and little pressure it cut through the branches with ease, the biggest being 6 inches in diameter.
Excellent Chainsaw
Really like this chainsaw, has been so useful in chopping down a couple of tress we have that are in an awkward place to get to. Need to keep the chainsaw oil close but an excellent investment, though need a big shed to store it.

Very useful branch loppe
Used to cut down two medium sized trees. A little on the heavy side but I have coped despite my advanced years. Has proved a very useful addition to my garden tools.

Top class well made produc
Wonderful chainsaw cuts through thick logs easily.had to use YouTube to assemble but once you realise to slacken off tension screw to fit the chain assembly it is simple.although in my 70s it is my first chainsaw and as long as you follow instructions and wear a visor feel comfortable using it and it is a top class product and would highly recommend!

Very useful
Can cut quite thick branches and telescopic pole is very handy. The only downside : it is heavy! God value for money i recommend;
Brilliant tool but 2 minor issues!
Brilliant product, more than happy with it. It cuts through small branches with ease, amazing telescopic ability – I managed to reach branches up to 4m up and still cut easily. As shown in picture it can cut through much larger branches like a knife through butter!! Had a look on YouTube for an assembly video as instructions weren’t too great.
I highly recommend buying chainsaw oil (generic is fine) alongside this product as the Chainsaw will require this to operate smoothly.
Cons:
The nut used to tighten the saw chain & hold the cover over the components comes loose the more you use it. I had to tighten the nut by hand after every use when cutting branches thicker than 5inch diameter and after every other smaller branch. When the but gets too lose the cover will fly off and the chain and saw pieces also detach and fly off but just remember to tighten the nut every so often.
At full range the chainsaw can become quite top heavy and hard to cut with but under stable footing and a good grip still works well.
Would rate 5 star if these two issues didn’t happen.
Otherwise a great product for the price and amazing tool with surprising capabilities!
Brilliant. Better than expected.
Works very well. Easy to assemble and not as heavy as my pole extended hedge trimmer.
This tackled trees bushes and branches.
Very happy although would prefer it cordless.
gets jobs done

Great bit of ki
Needed more instructions but a famous piece of kit.
You need to buy gloves goggles chainsaw oil, and possibly a helme
Cuts well not too heavy
Cuts well not too heavy when fully extended
Used it to cut down a birch tree approx 10 metres tall 100 mm thick That I was quoted 280 by a tree surgeon to remove.
Seems well made and has built in oiler for the chain (Remember to buy chain saw oil when ordering as none supplied with the saw)

This is a good tool but it is a bit heavy and if you’re using it near the horizontal you might need someone to help take the weight while you operate the trigger. I’m 72 and can use it comfortably for an hour or so before tiring. It is important to keep the chain properly tensioned and oiled. Tensioning the chain is achieved by first slightly loosening the clamping nut and then tightening it to the correct tension with the slotted screw. Stupidly the clamping nut is covered by a push on plastic cover which meant I didn’t find the nut at first and therefor didn’t clamp it properly which meant the chain came off and damaged the tensioning screw. Once properly tightened however it stays tensioned for a long time. The chain supplied and well oiled lasted about 2 or three hours and have just replaced it with a new one which is a bit fiddly but not difficult. I’ve cut easily through high branches and main trunks up to 6 inches thick without difficulty.
Nice saw
This saw cuts really well and the telescopic handle works well but I do wish that I paid the extra for the cordless because the cable does make the use of the saw more difficult.
Why didn’t I buy this before.
For years I have struggled with overhanging branches, cutting back trees and getting rid of unwanted shrubs. Each year I have brought out the usual array of tools and struggled for days and still had a mess, trying to chop the remains up into manageable pieces so I could transport them to the tip. Well not this year. Such a great investment, I went out as soon as it arrived (after reading the instructions ‘obviously’) and took down an old unwanted tree in minutes. Truth I did get a bit carried away and took a few more trees down and branches from others. The garden looks great, just I have about four trips to the tip instead of the usual two, but next year I might get away with just one. If you need to remove branches, down small or medium trees then this is for you, great value and easy to use. 5*
Excellent purchase , much better than I thought quick and powerful. Saved getting someone in to do the job so got my money back on first use . A bit hard to control when fully extended but that is to be expected. Had to purchase chain lubrication oil separately. Could do with a longer power cord but overall worth every penny and would recommend

…with a product that actually makes easy work of a job that looks daunting.
As with all such devices it is important to be sure you are safety conscious at all times as this is a powerful and robust chainsaw which, treated properly, will tackle most garden jobs with ease.
It arrives in a long box and needs just a small amount of assembly – mainly in regard to fitting the chain of the chainsaw. The instructions are possibly a bit vague and could be improved but once you take time to read them and please do take your time it suddenly becomes quite obvious how it all goes together.
It is mains powered so you will need an extension lead and you will need some oil [mine didn’t have any]. You will need to have oil for ongoing use and the suggested oil is Oregon PJ A6225CS-XJ which is available from Amazon amongst others. You do need to top up the oil reservoir and make sure the chain itself is oiled too.
As advised in the instructions you do need to keep a check on the ‘chain’ tension and this is easily done with a flat bladed screwdriver. Proper chain tension will make the chainsaw cutting action much better and will cut faster. [It is an important thing to attend to as the instructions point out].
The pole is extendable and is ‘counterbalanced’ by the included shoulder strap that clips onto the pole. The saw weighs in at around 4.5kg but once lifted and counterbalanced the weight does not hinder movement. With the pole extended to full length you have 2.7Mtrs of pole and saw blade plus your height etc.
There are many reviews regarding the cutting ability in terms of how big a tree it can tackle so I won’t add to the debate here other than to say it has taken on every branch and trunk I have asked of it.
Regular checks on the oil reservoir and the chain tension should see this BLACK+DECKER Corded Pole Saw give good service for many years to come.
I had a massively overgrown willow tree which was taking all the light from my garden but the cost from a tree surgeon was 800
I did lots of research and decided to try an extendable pole chain saw with this one my choice
Firstly on arrival which was next day all I had to do was attach the 10 inch blade which using the tool provided was quick and easy
The instructions were very clear and easy to follow and I was ready to go
The pole extends to 2.7 metres and opens and locks securely to the chosen length and the weight was manageable
Then the big surprise the cutting ability. This saw cuts through thick branches very easily and I cut through eight inch branches which really surprised me
Using a secured ladder I cut down massive branches and rate this tool as the best thing I have ever bought
I have several high fir trees which will be my next job
So a big surprise and it works much better than I had hoped fo
This is my second pole saw. The first was rechargeable. It ran out of power very quickly and was not man enough for the job. This one is very powerful because it is mains powered. It is heavy but that cannot be avoided.
Before you buy one, first buy a tub of double chocolate ice cream. Carte Dior is the right size. Eat the ice cream but keep the lid as it is just the right size hold the chain whist it soaks in oil.
If you don’t have any chain oil order some with the saw as none comes with it.
Read the moderately good instructions as attaching the (soaked) chain must be done correctly and properly tightened. The little plastic cover which looks like a nut is NOT for tightening. There is a proper nut underneath and a little spanner is provided to use on it. Make sure the chain runs the right way.
The pole extends very easily and enables a very long reach although it becomes more challenging to hold.
I am delighted with this saw as it has enabled me to remove thick branches which were completely out of reach before. I rate it as one of the most useful pieces of equipment in my gardening armoury and I thoroughly recommend it.
Power despite its size
Liked the cutting ability, but you really do need to brace yourself against the kick when blade bites
Great saw little bit heavy.
Brilliant saw for cutting off tree branchs, can be a little bit heavy on the arm when extended out,it does make your arm ache.
Perfect for the job
A great tool, made it easy to cut branches in the middle of a very wide conifer hedge. Cuts through trunks easily. Easy to assemble and chain easy to adjust.
Rubbish instructions but one put together done a great job cutting branches up to 8 inches thick..
Little bit tricky assembling the saw….Was not cutting until I realised it was the wrong way around! Once l sussed it out with the help of a utube video (the instructions are rubbish) it done a great job and saved me a fortune…

To start off, I have a bit of a tool fetish as a tradesman. In fact, I cant remember the last time a paid less than 100 for a corded/cordless tool. However, I only needed something to help me reach some large tree branches in my garden which would allow me to fell the trunk using a chainsaw. So after reading some reviews I decided to give this one a go.
Pro’s
– Easy to assemble, took me less that 10 minutes out of the box.
– Easy to use, great quick release action on the pole extension
– Surprisingly not that heavy, even when fully extended. I didn’t use the shoulder strap once.
– Will cut through thick logs with relative ease (see pic).
– And paying 79.99 for it, great value for money
Con’s
– Make sure to buy chain oil! I forgot myself so had to pop to my local screwfix.
– If you are planning on cutting some thicker branches, like myself, and have a few to do. It might be worth buying a spare blade as the one supplied doesn’t last that long. I used an Oregon Chain blade from Amazon, it was 11.15 and worth every penny.
– Keep an eye on the chain oil level. It is a very shallow sump and runs out of oil quicker than you would expect.
Pointers to Remember (If your new to using this kind of equipment)
– After a good few cuts, make sure to take the side plate off and clean out all the sawdust. It will help with oiling the blade and prolonging life.
– And when using it, always make sure that you butt the bottom of the guide bar up to the branch. NEVER cut a branch using the front end of the guide bar as this is where the “kickback zone” is. Google kickback zone if you don’t know what it is.
Would I recommend this to a DIY’er/keen gardener. ABSOLUTELY!!!
Overall great value of money, it does the job very well, feels sturdy and safe to use. Why only 4 stars? The chain tension screw isn’t in the best place and makes life a little difficult, and due to the 800W motor, it does lack a little power (for my personal preference).
Fantastic
I had some tall trees that I couldn’t reach and this made a very quick difference to them . It was heavy so couldn’t hold it up to long . But would highly recommend i
Tree trimmers
Great product was a bargain for the price I paid for, The tree blocked me and my neighbours garden, and cut the tree today and boy it got the job done! Very impressed glad to have this can enjoy rays of again thank you.

Powerful and sturdy.
Really good product.
It’s heavy but not too heavy.
Cut the branches of my tree in no time that would have taken me days with ladders and saws.
Although it is a bit heavy when fully extended the saw is more powerful than expected and coped with some heavy branches easily, you just need to let the saw do the work without forcing it.Assembly of the bar and chain was simple.

powerfull!!!
v good tool but could create problems if not carefull. I am greek and my wife is english both living in greece. First time i used it to prune a v tall leyland, a piece of bushy branch fell close to my wife’s feet as she was watching the process. She got scared and she wanted to go back to uk. But after she saw nicelly pruned garden trees she changed her mind with a big kiss. The tool is a devil. It cuts well but its not for elderly and/or weak people.
Smooth working order. Good quality. Quick in the post.
Makes short work out of big jobs. Brilliant bit of kit. Makes garden time a joy. Even doing nextdoors trees!
Just the best gadget!
If you need branches cut down this is the machine for you!
Good Quality
Excellent product, just need to keep checking tightness of chain after several cuts.
Quite heavy
Good sharp saw, if using a lot with the pole extended starts to feel heavy and makes your shoulders ache ( perhaps it’s me getting older) it would be a big improvement if you could turn the saw 45degs so that you could cut horizontally across tall hedges etc
I love it , can’t wait to use it again !!!
My wife bought this pole saw for me and I think it’s brilliant. A good reach and a nice cut very quickly I can’t wait to use it again ! New chain are cheap and easy to get from auction sites . The only problem I have with it were the instruction how to assemble the chain on the machine , a lot of head scratching but I got there in the end . It’s paid for itself already , tree surgeons are not cheap .
Heavy
The saw is very heavy and hard to control if you are of slight build. It does cut through thick branches, though.
Good product works well
Good product works well. Only minor coment would be its quite easy to knock off the oil reservoir cap when working in amongst tree branches.
Great wee machine better than a saw
Great we machine went through my hedges in no time . Can use it now to saw firewood
Works, but?
Slightly heavy to use at full reach. However, when you try to get a new chain, it takes a bit of work. The chain has a B+D part number, but arrives in Oregon bag with B+D sticker? Not sure if the Oregon number also shown cross references? Took a bit of finding as not on Amazon.
Works well
Works well, could have been supplied will a small quantity of oil to get you started. Overall I am very pleased with it.

Every few years I pay a professional a couple of hundred pounds to trim the trees near my house. I figured i’d give it a go myself this year, and this saw on a pole was ideal. As others have pointed out, it’s not a light tool, so my 18yr old son took the harness and did a great job. Need to watch the oil level, as it needs topping up every 15 minutes.
For me , it’s already paid for itself, so looking forward to using it again next year.
The safety aspects are to be respected.
Great machine cuts very well take care to use use safely.
Prune
Does the job it was purchased for. Good piece of ki
It's heavy!
A good product but very heavy to use when fully extended.
As most of the weight is at the chain end, it tends to be difficult to handle when you are using the extension.
Otherwise a good tool.

I ordered this after careful consideration of online reviews, and was swayed by the positive comments, the reputable manufacturer, and a realistic price. I have NOT been disappointed! I have found it very well able to cut through branches that look large, and make quite a thump when they hit the ground…. The main tip I find handy is to hold the cutting head with the special “stop” firmly in place against the branch, and let the cutter do the job in its own time, guided by gentle pressure to move it on through. It’s amazing what it will cut, and how quickly, AS LONG AS you read the manual carefully as to what it can, and more importantly cannot, do. The same goes for setting it up from the box! READ THE MANUAL and pay close attention to the chain tension on regular intervals throughout the operation and also keep an eye on the lubricating oil, and you should, like me, get EXCELLENT results from the device. RECOMMENDED for domestic garden type use!
Grea
This is a top product, good reach and ideal for tree branches. Surprised how good it was.
Wow
This product is amazing, it cuts through trees with ease, and it extends considerably
Does the job
Took a while to fit together with a wee bit of guesswork along the way. Soon got the hang of it and I was able to reach quite high branches, but with the pole extended, it soon begins to feel pretty heavy – but then I’m only 5 feet 2 ins! Cuts through big branches quite well. A few looked a little “ragged” but possibly I’m not using it properly. All in all, I’m quite pleased with my purchase.

I have to say…this is a superb bit of kit. My big regret: why did I wait!!
Brilliant value
Absolutely amazing tool, highly recommended easy to use and does exactly what it claims to do

Works well , great to use
Easy to set up and use , great gardening tool to have
cheap and effective
Obviously heavy at the motor end compared to my previous Makita petrol pole saw but considerably cheaper! Saw blade cuts quite viscously and so better kept for thicker branches above 2in or it will give a ragged shredded finish.

useful tool!
hia is a heavy-weight loper which really cuts surprisingly thick branches. I like the extension.
Excellent cutte
Used this cutter to trim some branches. Really pleased with it’s performance. Lightweight easy to assemble and use. Thoroughly recommend this produc
great purchase. does the job brilliantly.
Heavy as you’d expect but the quality of the cut is fantastic. Very happy.
Powerful long saw
Excellent power like a chain saw on a stick, because that’s what it is!
A little on heavy side though
I really like this product. We are safety first family and this saw is far away and cuts through all sorts of things in the garden. Easy to control and easy to set up and keep oiled.
It has saved us hours of sawing or cutting with a electric saw when we didn’t want a chainsaw because they are quite dangerous. This is a smaller more manageable version that can reach all the things we need it to.
To help keep it safe when not in use I cut a slit in one end of he box and now it’ll fit back in the box when stored with the chain in its sheath popping out without fear of hurting.
Some parts do feel a bit plastic and could break if not treated with respect. I guess like any item if you look after it and don’t throw it about it will las
This must be the best tool I have ever bought. Very long reach sturdy and robust. Dropped sixty ft conifers (x10) to 18 ft in an afternoon. Keep blade sharp and top up with oil easy to get to blade. A great tool.
Just needs a backward facing plastic hook on the casing to pull back the cut branches that snag.
Five Stars
Great saw for tree. Very easy to use. I did the work on the tree in no time.
This is a fantastic piece of ki
This is a fantastic piece of kit. Used it on two large Apple trees, both over 7 meters high. Thought I would need to buy a new chain by now, but it just keeps going and fast as well. Just remember to get your chain oil and keep an eye on it. The saw has a view window for this.

This has been well worth the money. We sent it to Greece on the lorry and it has been really good for pruning the olive. Just ask Kevin!!

great for reaching up high. alittle heavy when out to full reach. but over all good
Only done one or two experimental cuts because of the weather but works well.
Packaging was shoddy. Came in product box which looked seriously battered.
Somebody had added more sellotape to hold it together but the drive end of the saw was poking out of the box.
Mine says 800W on the box.
Instructions a bit vague. – It tells you to remove a plastic cap – but not how to remove it (you prise it off with a screwdriver).
Disappointed it didn’t come with a small starter bottle of chain oil.
Recommended oil is horrendously expensive.
it works ? i now have no trees, how good is that, now what do i do with my nice new chainsaw.
Very pleased.
Excellent product. Far exceeds my expectations. Well worth the money.
Great saw for the money
Great saw for the money, cut done three 30 foot silver birch without having to use any ladders and just as powerful as my petrol Stihl chainsaw

Works perfectly, very effective and really does the job.
Note: this item comes without any chain saw oil – you have to buy that seperately, so it’s another 12 or so on top

Clever design with the adjustable length. I can now prune a tree without having to go up a ladder.

Great product. Really useful for getting at those hard to reach branches, easy to use and not too heavy given its length.
Useful piece of euipment but you will need chain oil
Very impressed, better than I expected. Pity no chain oil included
I bought this pole saw to fell some quick significant limbs and branches overhanging my property. The instructions to set it up are very straight froward and for those that report that the build quality is poor or that the chain comes off are talking rubbish. This is a sturdy, well designed piece of kit which tackles branches of 6 inches or so very comfortably. At full extension it gets a little unwieldy unless you are using it vertically but once you have the chain bar resting on the branch you are about to cut, the tree will take the weight until you cut through. There was no oil in the box I purchased despite me reading somewhere it was included but I’d advise getting some good chainsaw oil in any case, and a file as you will blunt the teeth through use. Sharpening correctly has a knack about it but you will save a great deal of money by not continually replacing the chain. I got a good hour or so’s work felling and the chain is still sharp.
Does a very easy job. No problems with loose chains as I just followed the instructions to put it together. I am now going mad taking down trees! Have to stop myself to give the machine a rest . So far only done branches of about 2-3″ diameter and they have been like a knife through butter. could not be more pleased.

found it easy to use and efficie
Fast delivery, found it easy to use and efficient. Better than my petrol chain saw. Very pleased so far.

A very useful tool. I have about 400 meters of evergreen hedge which is over 8 feet tall, The tops grow like christmas trees to over 12 ft. This is very hard work and this little saw just eats it up. You need to be careful and keep the chain tension just right and the plastic cover often jams up with small twigs, but, keep it clean and it keeps going.
I have bought an extra battery; to always have lots of power, and have worn out two chains already, but the motor still runs powerfully. The chain teeth are quite small and it took a bit of looking to find a 3mm chain file. I’m glad I bought it, every time I take it out.
Omg love it buy it
I thought for that price it would be low on power and quality but I was sooooooo wrong buy i
I was surprised about the cutting power of this cutting tool. I had quite a biy of pruning to do of the tops of my trees and it did the job. I would recommend it for general gardening

Superb, does the job well. When i read the reviews i wasn’t sure but can say that those who moan about the chain coming off, that’s mainly down to wrong speed setting and lack of oil, as this has happened to me before on other chain saw like products. However this saw by B&D is very sturdy, well thought out and strong. It really has sorted out the branches from a overhanging tree from a neighbours garden, and with a cutting width up to 25cms it handles thick branches too very easily.

I am very pleased with this ‘new toy’ I’ve purchased. It is a great buy!
A first class cutting tool that is easy to use. I only wish I had bought one earlier it would have saved me extra effort and time spent working a lot harder. Deliver from Amazon was nothing less than excellent. Regards Frank
