I needed a shredder which was reasonably priced but could also cope a high volume of shredding. By high volume, I mean 12 full black bin-liners of paper at the end of it. I can report that this unit handled the demand perfectly. It didn’t jam once, didn’t overheat and just kept going and going. To be honest, with so much shredding to do, the human is more likely to break and need a break than this machine !
Very pleased with the unit and would happily recommend to others needing something a bit beefy without breaking the bank. It’s also a lot quieter than other shredders I have used in the past too.
Ha e purchases several less expensive. Don’t bother they breakdown. This is worth its money
After reading many reviews and articles, I decided to go with the 18-sheet version of this paper shredder, mainly because I also wanted to shred cardboard as well. I’m glad I did. It’s a lot quieter than I thought it would be, which is excellent. It gets through standard single-walled corrugated cardboard very easily. I was able to shred up the large Amazon box and outer box that this shredder came shipped in with ease. It’s fairly easy to push around on the supplied castor wheels and they can be easily removed if you want to.
If I had one niggle about this shredder it would be that the waste bin could do with being a bit larger so that I don’t have to empty it as frequently, but that’s a very minor point.
Overall thoroughly recommended.
This shredder copes with high volume work. It is robustly made and very effective. It allows for a considerable volume of shredding without overheating. It size means that it is unobtrusive and can be easily stored and moved. Good value.
Good product tends to overheat if using for a long period, but quickly cools down.
Sometimes you feel you are jumping off a cliff when you buy a shredder. I have bought two previous shredders and my mum has had one, and they have all been useless. I dreaded it coming, thinking it would be another waste of money, but actually it is great. It is strong and sturdy, a little bit heavy, but I shredded laods of paperwork that has been mounting up with no problem and tiny pieces. I am a very happy customer.
I read other people’s reviews before deciding to purchase this particular shredder. I was encouraged by the fairly universal delight expressed by other purchasers. I now share in that. I just wish I’d bought it sooner. It is just so much better than my old Rexel shredder that was forever needing to cool down and which seemed to have developed a reducing capacity over the years. This machine eats its way through a whole lever arch file in next to no time. I feel able finally to have that clear out that has long been needed. Yes, it costs more but the time saved and the ease of getting the job done is worth every penny. Life’s too short to be spending hours feeding an old, slow, and cantankerous shredder.
Great paper shredder, cuts the paper not in strips but in tiny pieces, cuts through credit cards with ease too. Leaves all the paper trimmings nice and compact in the collector. Really happy with my purchase.
Very pleased with this shredder. Noise level acceptable. Shredded paper into very small pieces. Says it would take 14 sheets at a time. I feel this would be a bit much unless the sheets were very thin. I put through 7 to 8 sheets at a time, seemed to manage easily. Also chews up staples. Would recommend.
Bought this based on other reviews stating how quiet this unit is so paid a lot more than other cheaper models based on this. Well it is far from it, it is even noisier than my old cheap unit. Other than that it shreds OK although the area you put the paper into is very slim and not that easy to use.
This really is an amazing shredder, although in fairness I have had it less than a month. The buttons are slightly sticky but hopefully they will ‘wear in ‘. Have not found a micro shredder that is lower than this price. It shreds perfectly especially for highly confidential paperwork . The waste bin is also extremely large. I just hop[e it continues to work as perfectly as it does now.

Having read the reviews I hoped they were not wrong. They were not!! It is as good as they claim, it just goes on and on without cutting out. I do the household shredding once a month and this does in minutes what my other would take an hour to do. A friend brought round a full ream box worth to do and the shredder didn’t even blink. A huge bin so you don’t need to empty as often as others. Highly recommended.
Absolutely fantastic shredder, my old cheap one just got blocked and over heated all the time, this one sheds paper and clip etc with ease. Goes through paper like butter and the sheds are so small no one is ever likely to ready a single thing off them, very very quiet too which is great.
If you want documents shredded properly Don’t buy a cheaper one buy a Bonsai!!
A workhorse compared to the run of the mill shredders you can can get from UK supermarkets, though it is important to deploy the recommended lubrication to ensure longevity. As a result of how finely it shreds, there is fine dust produced which may make it unsuitable for use in confined spaces. The close/open sensor is a bit hit and miss. However to know you have a shredder which can handle at least four A4 100gsm sheets at a time for nearly an hour continuously without overheating, confirms we have a very robust machine, still going strong for me several months down the road.
Read mixed review on this product but decided to go with it and I’m impressed with it so far.

Seems very smooth, quiet and looks grea
Easy to use straight out of the box. I had a really big paperwork clear out and was able to micro shred filling 12 large garbage bags. Went on for well beyond an hour and never overheated. I didn’t push the max number of sheets at one time – and generally sh a few less than max. I used the self-oiling sheets a few times but not as frequently and recommended and it’s been a really good investment. Shredded a couple of dozen old credit and other plastic cards of family members with no issues.
It is a great machine but unfortunately, the shredder developed a fault after 8 months. The support I received was amazing. After a couple of quickly answered emails the various options to fix it failed, so the company simply dispatched a new one. No fuss…just a great company standing by their product.
I would rate this as a very good all-round shredder, in that it shreds documents into exceptionally small pieces, is relatively quiet and, because it has a fan, does not overheat. Unfortunately mine unexpectedly failed after approximately nine months’ use, but has been replaced under warranty with no quibble and with excellent service and communication from both the seller, Justar, and from Amazon. The replacement took less than five days from start to finish, and I would definitely buy from this seller again.
I was disappointed that it says I cannot use it to get rid of DVDs as that was one of the reasons

Although not cheap, well worth the money. We had been putting off using our old shredder to get rid of a year’s worth of confidential waste. We decided to upgrade and get a new one, so glad we did. It dealt with the mountain of paperwork effortlessly. Our daughter borrowed it for a couple of days and has decided to get one also.
Got this one after my nephew killed my cheap 7 sheet job by trying to shred about 12 sheets. I wasn’t able to save it. Kind of glad it went though – it would overheat and auto stop more frequently than I liked.
This new one shreds everything I throw at it. And I’ve had a decent shredding session and it hasn’t stopped or complained. You get what you pay for. And so I reckon this is good value for its abilities.
Definately much quieter than my other shredder . Quick and smooth, Ideal capacity for a small business that does quite a lot of shredding. I was a bit surprised it dd not have an automatic cut off when fingers get near. Ffor the price I would have though this should be included, as it was on my old one at half the price. My fault for not reading the documentation properly.
However all round a good piece of equipment.

This is much better than my previous shredder which used to jam frequently with more than 6 sheets of paper together.
By comparison, this Bonsai unit chewed it’s way through a 2ft tall 2ft square wicker basket full of confidential waste in one afternoon without missing a beat. The only thing that held it back was how fast I could feed it, so clearly the cooling fan in this design makes a real difference.
Highly recommend and well worth the outlay.

I love that it’s on wheels and moves around easily even on carpet.
I love that the paper drawer pulls out, no more lugging off the top section and it has a bag to catch all the bits which makes it even easier to empty. There are still bits that end up on the floor but I can cope with that.
It can take 7 sheets at a time, but I don’t push it, it might be a large shredder but it’s still a ‘home’ one, not built for industrial use, and I want it to last. I bought the oil to lubricate with, made the mistake of not doing that in the past, it really helps prolong the life and keep things from grinding to a halt (literally).
Finally, it’s the quietist shredder I’ve ever had!
Time will tell how robust it is and how it wears but as I’ve said, it’s a two way street.
Works very well. Cuts the material to tiny pieces. Noise level is quite low. Looks good and it is very easy to use. Doesn’t take lot of space.
I killed our previous shredder and needed a more powerful one, this is fab and munched it’s way through a massive backlog of paperwork. It’s quiet and does the job. The large bin is a bonus and is easy to empty.

Handles large volumes without issue and works continuously for over half an hour.
Can process a lot in one go and cuts it up into small bits. Bin hods a good quanitity so don’t have to empty it every few minutes. Lot better than previous make of shredder I had that burnt out.
I’ve had a rexel heavy duty shredder for some time – and I’ve been trying to empty some filing cabinets to de clutter.
Well – 15 months into lock down and I’d not been getting very far what with the rexel giving up every few minutes.
With this beauty I shredded 20 years of bank statements, credit cards statements and a whole heap of work related stuff in one afternoon.
The only problem now is where do I store the shredder now I dont’ need it anymore!
Was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this shredder was compared to the last shredder I had. The fact it can run for an hour compared to having to shut my last one down after 10-15 minutes to let it cool down for almost the same amount of time and was taking less paper to shred. This one takes more paper and with the front access you are not continually emptying the shredded paper which is collected in a bag that I made use of to collect the shredded paper(came with the shredder) I also bought the paper which oils the shredder to keep it in good condition. There is an option if you want to buy collection bags on Amazon if desired

thought that because it was a strange make it may not work but boy was i wrong this is honestly the best machine it went through shredding my old account which was a lot in 45 mins it just kept running with not let up.

I am very pleased.
Now I can shred 10 – 12 sheets of paper at a time easily, although lots of paper shredding makes it stop to cool down after about 15 minutes.
However, the added bonus is that I can now shred cardboard as well. Who would have thought this could be so useful? I needed mulch for my allotment, and I now can shred all the brown cardboard that arrives in my house so that it is immediately ready to put round my plants.

This is a sturdy easy to use shredder. I bought it to replace an inferior machine that only ran for 3 mins and then needed 30 minutes to cool down. This new shredder just runs and runs. Excellent as I had loads of papers to shred. It has a built in fan however is still quiet in operation. I would highly recommend and would definitely buy again.

This is an excellent shredder. Very easy to use and no jamming. Admittedly, it did cost considerably more than I’m used to spending on a shredder, but it’s worth it. There’s no mess when emptying the drawer, and you don’t have to lift off a heavy top to empty a bucket. It’s all so easy. And because you can shred so many sheets at a time, it takes very little time to complete all your shredding.
I purchased this shredder in November last year and after a couple of months I had an issue with it so I used the contact details provided on the machine and I was given immediate support and sent a replacement machine within a couple of days which works perfectly. I like the fact that the shredder isn’t as noisy as others I have used in the past and also that it can shred a number of pages together. The biggest bonus for me, however, is the fact that the customer service contact details are clearly provided on the machine and that the response is very quick and supportive.
Excellent quality, easy to use, eats paper all day when necessary! Micro cut is more secure as well as meaning more time between emptying. Would definitely recommend!

Not too noisy. Works very well. Wish I’d had this when shredding several (7) years old accounts documents! Pleased with how well it handles larger amounts. Not sure it would handle quite the number of sheets at one time as it says, but definitely the best shredder I’ve had. Simple to use. Great it can be childproofed (switch on the back) for when my grandchildren come (not an issue at this time, as nobody can visit anyone), but hopefully, one day the family will be able to be here again!

I brought this shredder in May 2020 and used it for 6 months with no issue. Before Xmas 2020 I had a problem and contacted customer service. The contact details were easy to find as they a printed on top of the shredder (a little thing but in my opinion it does demonstrate the company actually thinks about good customer service). They got back to me straightaway, were very courteous, and resolved the issue immediately. I have had such poor customer service recently from other companies that their customer service really stood out. Would definitely deal with this company in the future on cistomer service alone.
I’m probably not alone in buying a cheap shredder to find that it just wasn’t up to the job – even in a domestic situation. The price for this model is probably at the top end of what people want to pay for a domestic shredder that’s also rather large. If I could have found a smaller one with otherwise similar specifications – I would have bought one.
The slot is a good distance above the cutting drums – this is good because you stand a better chance of the paper feeding straight which in turn means the paper edges are going to be properly shredded. Interestingly, the instructions don’t recommend regularly feeding the maximum number of sheets together which is fairly sensible. I did feed a defunct credit card which only caused a slight reduction in speed as did unopened envelopes it munched through. The 23l bin is pretty large with a window, it does take more effort than it should to remove so I suggest you do so carefully as you may break something after a while. The 4 castors are small & the front pair can be locked but don’t appear to be easily removed. The whole shredder is easy to lift without the bin working loose.
Quite what you do with the shredded paper is a moot point. Not all local authorities want it in their recycling because if just emptied into uncovered bins it can be blown about. It can also cause problems with the recycling machinery. If you do want to recycle then don’t use the included plastic bags!
There’s none of that with this device – it ploughs through piles of paper without a blink. For its first job I filled two bags (about 50 litres of shredded paper) without the machine needing to take a break (I couldn’t carry the paper to it fast enough to get it to overheat) and without a blockage or glitch. Paper is reduced to tiny shreds and it easily copes with the advertised 14 pages at a time (I suspect it could manage a few more, but there’s no need to stress it).
My only problem was that the first machine arrived with a problem that prevented it powering up. I contacted Amazon who weren’t much help (they tried to put me in touch with the US-based manufacturer when I really needed to speak to the retailer). However, once I spoke to the seller (Justar Office) they recognised the problem at once, offered a really fast and no-quibble replacement, and the second device worked fine. I have to praise their excellent customer service and it was only a minor inconvenience overall.
The only other downside is that the package only includes one liner for the bin (and no oil), but these can be easily had.
Anyway, besides this minor glitch, this is an excellent machine and definitely worth the bit more than the cheaper shredders you can buy.
This has been a wonderful shredder that has done a magnificent job in shredding documents into the smallest particles. Ultra security safe and very easy to use with a tremendous continuous run-time.
Don’t overload it and short recovery rate gives a high volume turnover. Perfect for home office.
Really solid, quality shredder. Does what it says on the tin. I’ve used it for boxes of shredding and have yet to have a single paper jam. Didn’t think there’d be much value in it being on wheels, but actually it makes it very useful as you can easily move it to where you are doing the shredding rather than taking the paper to the shredder.
The product worked well with up to 4 pages but jammed within a few days of first use. I was not able to resolve the issue using the troubleshooting guidance provided in the product booklet and contacted the customer care line via e-mail. I received an almost instant reply from Mia with photos and advice on how to resolve the problem. I managed to clear the jam using the advice provided but found the machine jammed again soon after. The company did not hesitate when I stated that I was not confident in the machine and believed it to be faulty, they offered a replacement which was delivered 2 days later.
From start to finish it was a pleasure to deal with Mia, she was both polite and efficient. My new machine works perfectly and I would not hesitate to recommend this product for home use.
It’s quiet, fast, has a fan so doesn’t have to stop every 5 minutes to cool down, cuts thick wads of paper and has a nice big collection box with easy viewing of fullness.
So far so good, able to shred lots of documents at a time and the shredder holds a good volume of shredded paper.
After a problem with the shredder, the after sales was excellent.
I explained the issue and a replacement was sent within a few days with no quibbles.

I’ve had 3 shredders over the years, all left a lot to be desired. This is the 4th and I’m impressed with its quality, robustness and action. Well satisfied.
My old shredder handled only a few pages at once and was constantly jamming. This one is a joy in comparison.

Just keeps going, no pauses, no resting while it cools down. Easily shreds kilos of paper in a single sitting.
I did a lot of research to buy a medium sized shredder which would:
1. Shred a lot of sheets at once.
2. Have a big storage bin for the shredded paper.
3. Would shred in two directions and not just produce strips.
4. Be quiet.
5. Be simple to use.
I chose the Bonsaii shredder and it has ticked all these boxes. I definitely recommend it!
It’s much quieter than I expected. While we haven’t put it under too much pressure, it’s working well for at least 30 minutes. I only stopped because I ran out of paper to shred.

A nice little bag is included to collect the paper to make it easier to empty. Also with it being on wheels means its easy to move around. Wold recommend this for home or small office.

The collection bin doesnt collect 100% of the shredding but it collects most of it and its easy to empty.

the unit cuts up most paperwork max 12 sheets A4 etc very finely, however it is slightly slower in how you can physically feeding in paper to cut up ,
It’s nice & quiet & due to the large collection bin and the fine shredding means the actual shredded paper is very compressed which does means it’s very heavy , Although the shredder does have wheels to allow moving the unit around.
The more paper you shread, at one time, will cause it to run slightly slower than if you were shreading less, so the overall time taken is roughly the same. You wont break it though. Staples and paperclips will pass though the rollers easy enough, and the noise level is quiet too. My last shredder wasn’t manly enough, and the paperwork just piled up, because it took forever to do. Once my old one burned itself out, I bought this one and was pleased that I did!
I put off shredding a lot of confidential papers as my old shredder would only take one sheet at a time and was prone to overheating.
The Bonsai shredder has made shredding so much easier, I’m working through box fulls of papers quickly. The large collection box is great – no more emptying so often.

Bought this as it was quieter than the one my mum had and we had a lot of stuff to shred. It did just the job and have used it that much we have had to empty it about 20 times so far. I would recommend this to others.
Although the cost was more than I intended to spend on a shredder. I’m so pleased I did, so quiet compared to others I’ve had, never had any problems with paper jamming infact I’ve shredded all day with no problems. A fan cuts in to stop it over heating. Delivered in under 24 hours too.

Fantastic shredder. Made short work of various bills and receipts that had accumulated since the early noughties. While the fan came on occasionally it never had to pause to cool down. I do think 12 sheets is a bit of stretch.
I do think that the wheels are a slight annoyance and I am thinking of seeing if the can be removed and replaced with rubber feet.
Fantastic product. I had a lot of shredding to do so had about a 3 hour session, it wasn’t non stop as just took my time, made drinks and had a snack. The shredder never missed a beat and never timed out. Now the fan is a bit noisy but tbh I didn’t care as it performed its task admirably.
