This is much better than my previous shredder which used to jam frequently with more than 6 sheets of paper together.
We bought this as an upgrade from a cheap Fellows shredder, one which would frequently choke on it’s rated 6 sheets and then need a lie down to cool off after just a few minutes work.
By comparison, this Bonsai unit chewed it’s way through a 2ft tall 2ft square wicker basket full of confidential waste in one afternoon without missing a beat. The only thing that held it back was how fast I could feed it, so clearly the cooling fan in this design makes a real difference.
Highly recommend and well worth the outlay.

So far I’m loving this shredder!
I love that it’s on wheels and moves around easily even on carpet.
I love that the paper drawer pulls out, no more lugging off the top section and it has a bag to catch all the bits which makes it even easier to empty. There are still bits that end up on the floor but I can cope with that.
It can take 7 sheets at a time, but I don’t push it, it might be a large shredder but it’s still a ‘home’ one, not built for industrial use, and I want it to last. I bought the oil to lubricate with, made the mistake of not doing that in the past, it really helps prolong the life and keep things from grinding to a halt (literally).
Finally, it’s the quietist shredder I’ve ever had!
Time will tell how robust it is and how it wears but as I’ve said, it’s a two way street.

Works very well. Cuts the material to tiny pieces. Noise level is quite low. Looks good and it is very easy to use. Doesn’t take lot of space.
It's a beas
I killed our previous shredder and needed a more powerful one, this is fab and munched it’s way through a massive backlog of paperwork. It’s quiet and does the job. The large bin is a bonus and is easy to empty.

I’ve had a rexel heavy duty shredder for some time – and I’ve been trying to empty some filing cabinets to de clutter.
Well – 15 months into lock down and I’d not been getting very far what with the rexel giving up every few minutes.
With this beauty I shredded 20 years of bank statements, credit cards statements and a whole heap of work related stuff in one afternoon.
The only problem now is where do I store the shredder now I dont’ need it anymore!
Does the job very well and cuts into very small pieces
Was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this shredder was compared to the last shredder I had. The fact it can run for an hour compared to having to shut my last one down after 10-15 minutes to let it cool down for almost the same amount of time and was taking less paper to shred. This one takes more paper and with the front access you are not continually emptying the shredded paper which is collected in a bag that I made use of to collect the shredded paper(came with the shredder) I also bought the paper which oils the shredder to keep it in good condition. There is an option if you want to buy collection bags on Amazon if desired

Four stars instead of five because for the price I would have expected a few sheets of shredder lubricant, or a small spray. However, having just moved home it was the perfect time to de-clutter and shred years of unneeded documents…a satisfying chore with this shredder. I expected it to jam or the thermal cut-out to kick in during a mammoth rip through old photos, bank statements and essays…going strong after several black bin bags full.

An excellent shredder which unfortunately decided to stop working after six months of very light use. So why give it five stars, I hear you ask? Well, we contacted the manufacturer, Bonsaii immediately and their customer services team were on the case at once. We described what the shredder was doing i.e. fan running continuously in ‘shred’ mode but not reacting to paper being introduced for shredding. They asked us to send them a short video to show what was happening. All this only took a couple of days. They then said that they were replacing the shredder with a new one and we didn’t need to return the old one. The new one arrived about two days later and is happily working well. That to me warrants the five stars I’ve given.

bought this Shredder to replace an old one for my office.
thought that because it was a strange make it may not work but boy was i wrong this is honestly the best machine it went through shredding my old account which was a lot in 45 mins it just kept running with not let up.

I already had a small shredder which said it took 6 sheets of paper but regularly blocked. So I bought this Bonsaii having read other reviews.
I am very pleased.
Now I can shred 10 – 12 sheets of paper at a time easily, although lots of paper shredding makes it stop to cool down after about 15 minutes.
However, the added bonus is that I can now shred cardboard as well. Who would have thought this could be so useful? I needed mulch for my allotment, and I now can shred all the brown cardboard that arrives in my house so that it is immediately ready to put round my plants.

This is an excellent shredder. Very easy to use and no jamming. Admittedly, it did cost considerably more than I’m used to spending on a shredder, but it’s worth it. There’s no mess when emptying the drawer, and you don’t have to lift off a heavy top to empty a bucket. It’s all so easy. And because you can shred so many sheets at a time, it takes very little time to complete all your shredding.
Good but does get stuck from time to time, I would go 5 sheets or less to prevent the jams.

I purchased this shredder in November last year and after a couple of months I had an issue with it so I used the contact details provided on the machine and I was given immediate support and sent a replacement machine within a couple of days which works perfectly. I like the fact that the shredder isn’t as noisy as others I have used in the past and also that it can shred a number of pages together. The biggest bonus for me, however, is the fact that the customer service contact details are clearly provided on the machine and that the response is very quick and supportive.

Great Customer Service
I brought this shredder in May 2020 and used it for 6 months with no issue. Before Xmas 2020 I had a problem and contacted customer service. The contact details were easy to find as they a printed on top of the shredder (a little thing but in my opinion it does demonstrate the company actually thinks about good customer service). They got back to me straightaway, were very courteous, and resolved the issue immediately. I have had such poor customer service recently from other companies that their customer service really stood out. Would definitely deal with this company in the future on cistomer service alone.
I have been trying to move to paperless and not doing very well due to mountains of paperwork generated by my small business over the years; the cheapo shredder we owned only worked for a few minutes and would jam and overheat so I spent its cool down periods googling replacements and found the Bonsaii C149-D and related reviews on YouTube…. I hesitated due to cost but due to the problems I was having with the cheap shredder I pulled the trigger and ordered the C149-D. It is just AWESOME… runs continuously and I’m working though the pile of paperwork and my office is getting clearer. Not too noisy and a joy to use! Fantastic bit of equipment; ditch your cheapo shredder now. DIN P-4 (Microcut) is an added bonus and much better than cheapo cross-cut.

The price for this model is probably at the top end of what people want to pay for a domestic shredder that’s also rather large. If I could have found a smaller one with otherwise similar specifications – I would have bought one.
The slot is a good distance above the cutting drums – this is good because you stand a better chance of the paper feeding straight which in turn means the paper edges are going to be properly shredded. Interestingly, the instructions don’t recommend regularly feeding the maximum number of sheets together which is fairly sensible. I did feed a defunct credit card which only caused a slight reduction in speed as did unopened envelopes it munched through. The 23l bin is pretty large with a window, it does take more effort than it should to remove so I suggest you do so carefully as you may break something after a while. The 4 castors are small & the front pair can be locked but don’t appear to be easily removed. The whole shredder is easy to lift without the bin working loose.

If you’ve used a cheaper shredder for more than one or two sheets you’ll be used to slow shredding and short run times before it overheats and then needing to wait ages for the machine to cool down.
There’s none of that with this device – it ploughs through piles of paper without a blink. For its first job I filled two bags (about 50 litres of shredded paper) without the machine needing to take a break (I couldn’t carry the paper to it fast enough to get it to overheat) and without a blockage or glitch. Paper is reduced to tiny shreds and it easily copes with the advertised 14 pages at a time (I suspect it could manage a few more, but there’s no need to stress it).
My only problem was that the first machine arrived with a problem that prevented it powering up. I contacted Amazon who weren’t much help (they tried to put me in touch with the US-based manufacturer when I really needed to speak to the retailer). However, once I spoke to the seller (Justar Office) they recognised the problem at once, offered a really fast and no-quibble replacement, and the second device worked fine. I have to praise their excellent customer service and it was only a minor inconvenience overall.
The only other downside is that the package only includes one liner for the bin (and no oil), but these can be easily had.
Anyway, besides this minor glitch, this is an excellent machine and definitely worth the bit more than the cheaper shredders you can buy.

Quality Shredde
Really solid, quality shredder. Does what it says on the tin. I’ve used it for boxes of shredding and have yet to have a single paper jam. Didn’t think there’d be much value in it being on wheels, but actually it makes it very useful as you can easily move it to where you are doing the shredding rather than taking the paper to the shredder.
Purchased the Bonsaii 6 Sheet Micro Cut Paper Shredder in early Nov and received the product with no issues within 3 days.
The product worked well with up to 4 pages but jammed within a few days of first use. I was not able to resolve the issue using the troubleshooting guidance provided in the product booklet and contacted the customer care line via e-mail. I received an almost instant reply from Mia with photos and advice on how to resolve the problem. I managed to clear the jam using the advice provided but found the machine jammed again soon after. The company did not hesitate when I stated that I was not confident in the machine and believed it to be faulty, they offered a replacement which was delivered 2 days later.
From start to finish it was a pleasure to deal with Mia, she was both polite and efficient. My new machine works perfectly and I would not hesitate to recommend this product for home use.

I’m very pleased with this paper shredder. It is a great fit for a small business or home office where you need to securely dispose of client, financial, or other confidential documents. I received it today and have shredded a couple of hundred pages. It churned through them readily and had no problem handling 14 sheets (with staples) at once.
My old shredder handled only a few pages at once and was constantly jamming. This one is a joy in comparison.

3. Would shred in two directions and not just produce strips.
4. Be quiet.
5. Be simple to use.
I chose the Bonsaii shredder and it has ticked all these boxes. I definitely recommend it!

Used it to shred almost continuously for around 4 hours (with only brief breaks to collect papers and empty the bin) and it didn’t once overheat! Saved me hours. As my last shredder overheated after 5-10 minutes and took 25 to reset. It will shred 12 or more sheets, but is happiest doing 7-8 sheets. The only downside is that you can occasionally a 10cm x 4mm wide strips in the bin from the right edge. Messaged the manufacturer and they said to keep the paper in the middle of the slot and that it’s normal, which sounded odd. But realistically there won’t be any confidential information on the last few millimetres at edge of a page. Nevertheless the best and most reliable shredder I’ve owned.
I have produced 4 sacks of shredding with the Bonsai so far without a problem. It is quick, not too noisy and can take the number of sheets of paper as claimed. I have had continuous use for around 20 -30 minutes and have no reason to believe it cant run for the claimed 60 minutes. I think there is a fan system to aid cooling but only heard it kick in once. The shredded paper is small and would be very difficult to reassemble.
The collection bin doesnt collect 100% of the shredding but it collects most of it and its easy to empty.
I m very satisfied.

I had a large number of documents that needed shredding and our old house shredder was not up to the task. This shredder handles large volumes of documents without having to rest for an hour after five minutes of shredding. It was much quieter than I expected. Great value for money.

the unit cuts up most paperwork max 12 sheets A4 etc very finely, however it is slightly slower in how you can physically feeding in paper to cut up ,
It’s nice & quiet & due to the large collection bin and the fine shredding means the actual shredded paper is very compressed which does means it’s very heavy , Although the shredder does have wheels to allow moving the unit around.
The original shredder which arrived 4 days earlier than it said (amazing) unfortunately did not work at all. I contacted the seller and they immediately worked with me to solve and rectify the problem (brilliant company) They were incredibly helpful and sent out a new shredder which works perfectly and is so so quiet. I am totally impressed with this company and the product. I would highly recommend them.
This will shread a full lever arch file, in 10 minutes! I first used it to shread my expired company accounts and it was running constantly for over an hour. It did not overheat, cut off, or jam.
The more paper you shread, at one time, will cause it to run slightly slower than if you were shreading less, so the overall time taken is roughly the same. You wont break it though. Staples and paperclips will pass though the rollers easy enough, and the noise level is quiet too. My last shredder wasn’t manly enough, and the paperwork just piled up, because it took forever to do. Once my old one burned itself out, I bought this one and was pleased that I did!

Arrived quickly and set up very easy straight from the box. It made short work of two large baskets of shredding including staples. I was really impressed how quiet and efficient it was. Highly recommend it as value for money.

Bought this as it was quieter than the one my mum had and we had a lot of stuff to shred. It did just the job and have used it that much we have had to empty it about 20 times so far. I would recommend this to others.

Great Product.
Although the cost was more than I intended to spend on a shredder. I’m so pleased I did, so quiet compared to others I’ve had, never had any problems with paper jamming infact I’ve shredded all day with no problems. A fan cuts in to stop it over heating. Delivered in under 24 hours too.

Quality product, large capacity and shreds paper properly
Excellent shredder which is quiet and has a large capacity. Been using this to shred confidential docs and easy been handling 5-6 sheets at a time. Value for money and have been using this for about 6 months without any issues

Fantastic shredder. Made short work of various bills and receipts that had accumulated since the early noughties. While the fan came on occasionally it never had to pause to cool down. I do think 12 sheets is a bit of stretch.
I do think that the wheels are a slight annoyance and I am thinking of seeing if the can be removed and replaced with rubber feet.

Wish I had this a long time ago
Fantastic product. I had a lot of shredding to do so had about a 3 hour session, it wasn’t non stop as just took my time, made drinks and had a snack. The shredder never missed a beat and never timed out. Now the fan is a bit noisy but tbh I didn’t care as it performed its task admirably.
Super fine cut, large collection bin. Easy to empty and move.
Bought to replace an aged Rexel shredder that finally gave up the ghost, this is an excellent and compact piece of kit.
When it came out of the box it looked rather small and I was concerned that it’s capacity might be a little too small.
Not a bit of it. It micro-shreds into much smaller pieces than my old Rexel cross-cut shredder and so it actually has a larger capacity in real use than the Rexel. Smaller pieces, so much more compact and incidentally, more secure,, whereas the Rexel filled the bucket with air and larger pieces.
It’s not very quiet, but much less noisy than the Rexel was.
It genuinely will shred 6 sheets at a time, but like all domestic shredders it’s not for constant use.
If you run it too long, there is a thermal cut out which stops the cutting until the motor cools down.
Realistically, unless you are shredding an entire office full of stuff, it’s more than adequate.
It would probably cut through a staple if you accidentally left one on the paper, but it’s not designed for it, so you should be careful.
It won’t cut credit cards or CDs either and it won’t shred Mail-Lite bags (I ripped some open and pulled off the plastic bubbles before shredding the labels. That works).
I’m very happy with it and having just checked online, it’s a Which Best Buy too.
So if you want an inexpensive, compact and effective shredder, for domestic use, I would recommend this one.
We do quite a lot of shredding in our house. When our Swordfish 2000XCD cross cut shredder died after more than nine years faithful service I checked what was on the market today. The current version of the Swordfish 2000XCD looks very similar to the EverShred C149-C with the same sized bin, but cost about 100 more. The Swordfish is rated for continuous use (recommended maximum 2 hours without a break) whereas the Bonsaii is rated for 1 hours use. The Swordfish is rated for a maximum of 20 80gsm sheets at a time and the Bonsaii is rated for 18. The Swordfish has a noise rating of 58dB and the Bonsaii 62dB. The Swordfish has a “bin full” light but the Bonsaii does not. With such similar specifications it was hard to justify the 100 premium for the Swordfish, so I decided to purchase the Bonsaii EverShred C149-C. It has been in service with us for six weeks now, and has had a lot of work to do as we are having a sort out prior to moving home. So how does the EverShred C149-C compare to our old Swordfish 2000XCD? The Evershred is much quieter than the old Swordfish, but is marginally slower and the “throat” of the Swordfish would take A4 in landscape orientation while the Bonsaii needs it to be in portrait. The Bonsaii bin does not hold as much shredded material, but is very adequate and the plastic of the cabinet and bin is not as thick as the Swordfish was but is nonetheless up to the job. Our old Swordfish died because the plastic fingers which separate the cutter disks and keep them clear of debris gradually became broken because the “bin full” light was hit and miss and the cutters were frequently picking up already-shredded material from a full bin. Not having a “bin full” light in the Bonsaii is an advantage as it forces you to pay attention to how full the bin is, rather than relying on the technology. Based on our experience so far I think the Bonsaii EverShred C149-C is a very worthy successor to our old Swordfish.
