I use this for aquarium water changes on a range of sized tanks, it can easily handle an 80% water change on a 250l tank (empty and refill) and a 50% on a 60l, with spare capacity in the 2.5ah battery.

Very fine mesh on suction, so very small chance of anything unwanted making it’s way through the pump.

Really simple to use and assemble, fairly compact and good flow rate, I reckon a fair bit better than mains pressure.

Would definitely recommend (can’t comment on gardening use though)!

Bought two of these battery operated pumps for using both at home and on the allotment. Battery lasts a good 20 minutes on full charge and allows me to water the whole of my allotment from my barrels with ease. Thoroughly recommend them at the price paid for in promotions as a back saver in not having to fill watering cans and carry them around the garden and allotment!

I have found it to be a very useful pump system around our garden. We collects water off our greenhouse into IBC which holds 1000 litres. Drop it in the bottom and have had 40 metres of hose on the end of the pump and works well with hozelock lance very well. I suggest you have more than 1 battery because they last about 15 /20 mins max .

We have a vegetable plot some ay from our house which has no power supply and requires a long hose to reach it. Using this product, we can pump water from the water butt and use a hose pipe to water all the crops. The battery is easily removed for charging.

I have a number of water butts around the garden and I wanted to make watering plants easier than lugging watering cans around. I have some other Bosch cordless tools so this seemed a good option. It was easy to set up and get going once the battery was fully charged. I have to say that I am really impressed with the pressure that it pushes out. It can drain a 200ltr water butt in no time (so much so I am adding more water butts to collect more rainwater and connecting them together). Being able to move the pump between the different water butts is great. Really pleased and would recommend.

I’d been looking for a sensibly priced low voltage pump and the ‘extension kit’ is ideal if you want to customise your own set up. The ‘extension kit’ is essentially just the pump and a short hose with a helpful anti-syphon check valve. So if you know how to connect it up to your own 18 volt garden tool batteries of any brand then you are sorted for a fraction of the price of the full kit. I’ve customised mine with a radio control module so the pump only kicks in when I press the remote key fob to provide water out of the 25 m hose. Also works 3-4 metres uphill so I can wash cars out front. The only downside of such a powerful pump is that you will need at least 600-800 litres in syphon-linked water butts to avoid running dry too quickly when using a spray gun.

A really powerful low voltage pump - now I just need enough stored water!

I purchased the unit without batteries as already had some Bosch one 4 all 18v power tools. I used this with a pond filter wrapped around the metal filter and used this to transfer water from the water trough to my 240litre water butt’s around my allotment. I usually use one 2.5ah battery per water butt and has loads of pressure even using a 30m hose. Delivery was fast and would definitely recommend one of these for anyone with an allotment!

Very good product and being battery powered this can sit at a bottom of a 100ltr waterbutt and have the battery pack hung on the wall there is enough power lead to come out the side of the waterbutt. The only thing I had a problem was there wasn’t enough hose for my use but that was minor I just added more hose. Overall very easy to use and set straight out the box.

We use this to water a lower part of our garden that is next to a natural waterway. It always seemed pointless to bring water down from the house, or the waterbutts when we were stood next to several million gallons. Fitted this near the bank, and then set about watering with a normal hose and trigger. Firstly absolutely amazed at how quiet it is, genuinely can’t hear it in operation unless you are bent down listening. Pump pressure is excellent, just like using an outside tap. We have it working over an elevation of much more than 1.8m that stated in the listing, well over 3m and it works very well indeed. Definitely falls into one of those things you don’t need, until it is, you have one, and then you can’t do without.

6 x 205ltr water butts that I use to water my greenhouse, vegetable patch and pot garden.

    NOT NOW!
    A FANTASTIC BIT OF KIT,
Ok. Bit pricey. But you only pay for what you get.

Great product for transferring water between IBC’s or watering with a hosepipe directly from one if you don’t have mains water such as at an allotment.
Simple to set up and can be used with all standard hosepipes.
Battery life is ok at about 20-30 mins but you will definitely need a spare which can be bought on Amazon for 30 each most of the time.
I bought this on offer @ 82.00 which is a good price considering the battery costs 30 but at 122 or full price it is quite a costly item.
Works well and a good price when on offer.

If your a fan of using water butts this is a must have
Simply drop in water and connect to hose (has the quick connector) gives a pressure greater than our tap and excellent for watering the garden
Was also initially using it to pump from one but to another to keep the one nearest the garden full
No need connected it to two hose reels to get. 40m round to our front garden and it still gave as much pressure as our tap
Love the feeling of using harvested water on home grown vegetables and flowers

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was fed up carrying cans of water from the communal trough to my patch, at my local allotment. Googled options and saw this.
Excellent price via Amazon, and arrived next working day. Well packed, easy to assemble and good instructions. Only downside, all my other DIY/gardening cordless kit is Makita, so another battery and charger!
Having said that, am very impressed. 2.5Ah battery charges in a couple of hours, and pump is well designed and sets up on trough in a couple of minutes. It is easily portable, and equally easy to dis-assemble. Provides good water pressure at more than 50 feet of hose. Battery easily lasts continuously for 20 mins plus. Best to re-charge after each use. Can be left running with no flow.
All in all, excellent for this task, can fully recommend for anyone wishing to water by hose from a ‘fairly clean’, static water supply.

I bought the water pump half price on prime day to use at my allotment. I have a 1000 litre water tank and even when full it takes time to fill the water bucket. So i took the gamble on this small battery powered pump. Battery charged in no time (i have other Bosch battery powered tools and i am generally happy with their batteries)
It took 5 minutes to set up at the allotment, i just used the hook and hung the battery on the water tank and connected it to the pump. I connected a cheap expandable 50 ft hose and dropped the pump in the tank.

I was surprised by the flow rate from the hose, see attached video. The long tedious watering job has been cut by 75% giving me more time to weed.

Overall very happy with no negatives to report.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFantastic product! If you have an allotment and are considering getting a rechargeable pump then don’t hesitate – though do check first that your allotment rules allow the use of hose and sprinkler. Idid initially think this was rather expensive – but it has proved it’s worth already in saving on the back strain one normally gets with numerous watering cans.
We are frankly amazed at its efficiency – a really strong water force and lasts a good 30 mins or so before a recharge is needed.
So pleased we bought it and saved all that back strain. Watering is now a joy!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI have some large water buts with relatively small holes at the top and was looking for a mains transfer pump when I saw this. It works perfectly.
As it needs to move about I have ignored the installation instructions to cut the supplied pipe down to make it a perfect fit. Be aware that there is an anti-syphon valve that closes when the pump is running but it is possible to it to start syphoning through the the valve when it is not closed under pressure and below the water level outside the water butt. Not a bid deal but disconcerting the first time it happens. Easy solution, make sure the valve is always above the water level.
The common battery is good, I have not discharged it yet during operation. The timer is useful. The first time you use it you can mentally note how much the water level drops in 10 minutes and you can leave it unattended when using as a transfer pump.
The water pressure is very good and easily operates a spray attachment on the end of a long hose.
One slight criticism. You are told in the comprehensive instructions (it is Bosch!) not to let the pump reach the bottom of the tank to prevent is pumping sludge. Therefore, why not incorporate some extendable feet to completely prevent it that could easily have been incorporated in the removable filter cap. If I have a 3D printed I would make one.
But overall a very nice product and easy to use. Would definitely recommend.

I’m so delighted with this rain water pump, it’s made the chore of watering the garden so much easier from our water butt. This comes with the battery included so it has everything you need to get started. You submerse it into the butt and once the hose is connected provides a very strong jet to water directly from the butt rather than having to fill numerous watering cans at a slow and laborious trickle pace!

This can either be left in place at the butt but personally I give the garden a good water and then disconnect it during these colder winter months but during the summer when it’s more in use I will be leaving connected for quickness as it won’t be exposed to the elements.

This is a great value kit and makes such a difference, especially for me as I struggle to lift a full watering can, this helps you save on water bills by being able to quickly use the water butt to water but without the annoyance of waiting for a trickle flow from the small tap it has. I don’t know how I’ve managed without one for so long! Highly recommended for any water butt users, adds a new level to watering! Easy to use and disconnect and reconnect as needed, amazing!

I am very happy with this pump.
Much stronger than my previous one and more powerful. I am mainly using it for pumping water up the rainwater storage tank to water the garden. It is very easy to use and looks like it’s built very well so hopefully should have a few years of use out of it. Cables are really long so plenty play without having to whip out the extensions. The largest hose connection which you can use is 32mm and I recommend using this size as it makes light work of what used to be a long job.
It is reliable and efficient. This pump is really powerful and does exactly what its designed to do. Timer function is very helpful and the battery that can be used in other bosh devices is a good idea.

    Well Recommended!

This is a great little submersible pump for my water butt in the garden, it lets me transfer water from one place to another.
This is another great item from Bosch, its robust and well made and everything just flows so well.

I now water my plants from the gathered water which makes me feel like I’m not wasting water and could help people who have a water meter, especially over the summer months.

This is whats supplied in the pack,
    GardenPump 18
    Battery Control Unit
    Rainwater Pump
    Connecting Hose, 2.5 m
    Hose Guide
    Tank Attachment
    Wall Attachment
    Battery pack 18V 2.5 Ah
    Charger AL 1810 CV.
One thing I would say is I read you can use it all year round unless the weather freezes the water, to be honest, I’m gonna put mine away for the colder months as not to damage the pump.

Overall, a great product by bosch, great for saving water.
    I would recommend this product.

When we bought our new house just before lockdown it came with a water butt in the garden at the back next to the shed. Unfortunately we’ve barely used it as it’s too much of hassle to collect the water and then use it to water the grass and flowers. This garden pump is the ideal solution as it lets me get the water anywhere I need to get it in the garden using the included hose. The pump works great, and I’ve attached the battery unit to the shed as it’s right next to it so this is an ideal solution for a water butt where you don’t have a readily available power source. It probably won’t get much use till summer now but so far it’s been doing a great job.

great piece of kit.. rarely let down by bosch. I bought a pump to empty the pool but it was poor quality, leaking from the joints etc and not that cheap. Gave this a go and whilst this is more than twice the price , it is powerful for such a small size. Being battery operated means I can use it round the garden/house. If you want to empty a large container of water or hose the car, it is great!

My Bosch Cordless Submersible Pump GardenPump 18 (1x Battery 2.5 Ah, 18 Volt System arrived well packed
and no damage was made .Well this is one of the best things that i have in my shed. This is a great water kit which
makes life so much easier if you don’t have electricity in your garden. The pump and accessories are easy to install and put together so you don’t have to be an engineer.I can say that i am impressed by the performance of this little pump. The best thing is that you can use other bosch battery if you have any drill or
something. The water stream after connecting 25 meters hose its impressive. For us its good that i can watering
the garden from the rain water butt.My wife use it with the sprinklers as well because she doesn’t want to stay
there to lose time she just set one of the three time settings and off she goes. The battery is a 2.5 ah which is not
to big but it is enough for a decent garden, but again if you have a drill or other bosch tool with a bigger battery you can use that one as well, you can use battery up to 6 Ah.I am very happy with my pump and i will recommend to all my friends.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is an absolutely brilliant piece of kit for the garden and especially for anyone with an allotment where they collect water in water butts. I use mine to transfer water between butts with a hose pipe and spray gun to water my allotment I even recently used it to wash my greenhouse down inside and out just by drawing water from a water butts. I cannot praise this little machine enough.

Ok, this was a bit of a tongue in check kind of order, as I was not sure it would even work! We got a humongous inflatable pool for the kids last summer and having filled it using a hose and the outside tap, having added all the chlorine and maintained the quality of water over a period of time, it suddenly dawned on us that emptying it will be an issue, as it is way too far away from the drain, it is on an elevated ground, which means the drain is not even in its way, should we just.you knowdrain it “naturally”, it will flood the garden and as it is a whole load of chlorinated water that is not something my plants would appreciate, it will most likely kill my grass and the flowerssoit was left alone, killing the grass underneath ( oh well) and filling up with rain water, going a bitsmelly too..you get the gist basically. So, we figured out that a pump would do the trick if connected to a hose long enough to reach the drain. And then, as if by magic, this showed upso YEY! It came and it conquered! Seriously powerful machine! The drain could barely cope when all the water was pumped out, I did not expect so much force from a battery operated device! Needless to say, the pool was emptied in no time and now I no longer have an excuse for the kids not to change water, as we had a bit of a misfortunate accident in the pool at some point, but changing the water was out of the question, so cleaning was in order and more chlorinealthough I would now be just pumping the old water out and filling it up again with nice clean water for the pool to be enjoyed for much much longer!
Ok, this is not a cheap device, but it is as reliable and as powerful as they come, I’d say and since our pool endeavour, we have lent it to neighbours to empty their pools, ponds, etc. and it is still as good as new! So, although not cheap, it is a safe purchase!

A blessing at this time of year with the heavy rain and if you have rainwater butts in your garden — makes watering plants and pumping water from one butt to the next so much easier and time-efficient. The pump is most useful too in our case as we don’t have many power options out in the garden. Leaves you to direct your hose as you wish as the pump does all the heavy lifting of the water itself. Can be affixed permanently or temporarily.

Water pressure is pleasingly powerful. The battery life is great and the setup very economical to run too considering that it allows you to control how much watering you do. The set has an excellent build quality as expected from Bosch. Easy to assemble and dissemble. It’s one of those ‘makes your life easier’ devices that I would be very happy to recommend.

    Brilliant efficient water pump.

The Bosch Garden Pump 18 performed as advertised straight out of the box! It was the work of a few minutes to set it up in one of my (many) water butts. The 2bar pressure enabled a spray of at least 50 feet from an open hose, and emptied the butt in about 2 minutes. Whilst ideal for a “right good drenching”, that sort of pressure would not be appropriate for the delicate watering of pot plants. I have yet to establish whether the flow can be controlled using an adjustable nozzle, but assume that it can.

Next summer, I anticipate using this device extensively, to save me lugging buckets and watering cans from inside the house, as I don’t have an outside tap.

The “All 18” battery system common to a range of Bosch DIY power tools has potential to benefit those who don’t already own a range of power tools from a variety of manufacturers. It certainly has benefits for Bosch in reduced inventory and in encouraging brand loyalty.

Overall, a welcome addition to my tool kit.

I’m over the moon with this Bosch water pump, just what I needed for my new project to turn everything I can environmentally friendly around the house. I’ve built a big water tank under the ground next to my house and I’ve connected the guttering and down pipes into this tank with a gutter mash to stop leaves and debris so I just collect the clear rain water to reduces the amount of tap water I use for gardening. This is a very complex system and this Bosch water pump now part of it. So far after almost a month of using this pump I’m really happy with the performance, I haven’t noticed any drop of pressure, stays constant with. Strong flow. Install this was not required any special knowledge, comes with well written guid. Comes with wall mount which I have mounted on the wall right above the water tank. The best feature which makes this pump special and stand out from other water pumps is the battery, Bosch uses a unified type of battery which is compatible for other Bosch products too. The 2500mAh capacity gives me enough power to water the garden with this pump a couple of times a week. The floating part in my case is located maybe 1m deep, but according to the manual it can go up to 1.8m but not lower, probably lower than this it will lose the pressure. Featured with time it can be set for 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
So far works perfectly for me, and I’m really happy with this pump, little bit price but will pays for itself over the years.

Well, that’s an end to endlessly dipping the watering can into the water but. This cordless pump is extremely convenient and does exactly what it is meant to do with ease.

    Quiet and easy to store.

The quality of the product is fantastic and if you do not have an outside tap or would just prefer to run off rainwater then this really is perfect for watering.

A great gift for gardeners and can also be used to empty paddling pools onto the garden. Brilliant!!

I am so impressed with the power of this unit, it easily equals mains pressure. It uses the Power For All battery system so if you’ve another battery from their tools there’s no waiting for it to recharge, just an easy swap. I like the fact it has two different battery holder brackets to give the option to either permanently fasten it to a handy place or put the other clip on and it’ll hook quite nicely over the top of a fence. The filter is easy to remove and clean. The timer feature is an instant on, then depending on how many times you press it goes 5, 10, 15 minutes then off. My intention is to hook it up to an irrigation system which I think will work well, especially on holidays, all the kids have to do is press a button and the plants will be watered, love it. This is an easy 5 out of 5.

    Fantastic piece of kit!

This pump is great for our garden, allowing us to make use of the large yet narrow water butt that we inherited when we bought the place. For situations where you don’t want to or can’t water from the main water supply, this allows you to do the equivalent job- and the plants shouldn’t be fussy!

We have a fairly minor gradient up to the back of our garden, with the water butt at the low point- purely pressure-based hoses were never going to work for us. This pump does an effortless job of pumping the water up the gradient, with a length that covers all of our fairly long but thin garden with ease. It isn’t power pumping though- this hose won’t work as a pressure washer, there’s not a great deal of force behind it, but there’s plenty just to get the water onto the soil you want it to be on. The pressure is naturally a bit higher when the gradient is less.

The Bosch brand is a very familiar one that we’ve got a lot of respect for, and this is a reliable bit of kit- very solidly made, clearly durable, easy to understand, with clear, well-written instructions and so on.

Initially we had some problems getting this device externally mounted on our wall, but this was issues to do with the wall and our tools rather than this pump. For testing and watering purposes though, it is possible to just leave the battery pack propped up nearby- you aren’t obliged to mount it if you don’t want to or you can’t, although it’s much neater once you get the mounting sorted out. Technically you could describe this as portable kit, if you wanted to take it to various sites (or an allotment for example), though it’s not really designed for travel use particularly and it’s better suited to a single location.

As well as the wall mounting, one point of caution is the little bit of measuring required to make sure the pump sits at the right level in the tank – 50mm off the bottom, to allow for sediment and such, but to keep submerged. Once set up, it’s easy to use, but allow yourself some calm time to measure hoses to length and customise it- it isn’t ready to go straight out of the box.

There are a number of helpful safety cut features, which stop the battery level getting too low, and a pump auto-stop when the water level has dropped too far. There is also a timer function, which can keep the pansies happy if you are away for a hot weekend, or if like me, at the end of a long day sometimes the plants are forgotten in favour of the sofa. These extra features are the icing on the cake of an already excellent, really well-made product that should help improve our garden for many years to come.

We recently moved into a new house which already had a water butt installed as well as having a water meter. Until I got this pump system my only choice was to siphon water however the pressure was so low all it could be used for was in the borders and around the base of trees but with this Bosch rechargeable pump it now means I have got better than mains pressure water and I am not wasting good quality drinking water in the garden but I’m also paying for. It empties the large water but I have in around 15 minutes from completely full to empty and I have been using it to water the grass during this particular dry spell. Installation is really easy and includes a number of different options for how you want to mount both the control unit and the pump and also the water connector. Hi simply drilled a hole at the very top of the bottle to put in the standard hose lock style connector. The wiring for the pump is connected via one simple screw terminal so you can take it out over the cold winter months where the freezing water could damage the pump internals it also means that you can remove the main control unit from the wall when the unit isn’t in use.

This is a really well thought out solution and although it costs a reasonable amount over time you will certainly feel a lot better for using the rainwater rather than mains water and it is also arguably a lot better for the plants.

Very useful item for anybody who wants to use rainwater to water their garden and plants. This really helps save on the water bill and it has made a massive difference to us so definitely a fantastic investment.
Every part of this product feels really, really well-made as you would expect from Bosch, from the wall attachemnt to the pump itself it’s all top notch quality. It was really easy to attach to the wall and really easy to set up as easy as connecting everything up (hose to the pump and pump to the battery on the wall attachment) and voil, you’re done. Now, instead of using water from your water supply, you can use the rain water you have collected. It also has a timer function that works rather well but I personally like doing it myself as I find taking care of the garden quite therapeutic. If you own other Bosch products, they have this thing where all their batteries are the same so you can use your Bosch drill battery on the water pump which is actually really, really useful.
All in all, a fantastic investment and it’s so easy to install and use I’m sure other people will be encouraged to save water and simply use what they collect up when it rains. Very pleased, recommended.

Always great quality from Bosch and this water pump is no different. All the fixtures, fittings, plastic hooks and the pump feel really solid and very well made. Even the hose is very strong.

I used this to remove rain water from an old pond at my friends nursery. There’s had broken last year and found it would be a perfect opportunity to test it out.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t have a phone out to video it while on site but i will say it performed really well. It was only a small pond but it did pump out the rainwater pretty quickly.

It was also super simple to connect together and set-up which given i accidently left the booklet at home i was really fortunate.

I would say i would have liked the hose to be just a little longer, it’s a good size but just in the situation where the pond was not ideally placed and found it a stretch to get the hose to the back without stepping in it. It definitely wouldn’t be a problem in most situations though.

I was impressed at how quiet it is, I definitely expected it to be a lot louder than it was.

So overall, it’s a fantastic quality product and did it job quickly and almost effortlessly.

    Would absolutely recommend.

    Worked really well.
