After spending a good amount of time reading the reviews of this bin and some competitors (mainly by simplehuman) I decided to take the plunge and buy it. This cost over four times the amount of my previous kitchen bin, but the glowing reviews and the good experience I’ve had with other Brabantia products convinced me.
Having now used the bin, I wanted to add my voice to say that it is worth every penny. It looks great, no smudgy fingerprints and a nice, easy open lid. However, the real benefit is how well it works. Yes, I know it’s just a bin, but the extra wide opening makes a huge difference when scraping plates etc. The additional capacity means I’m not emptying it every couple of days, and when I do, no desperately trying to squeeze the bag out without it splitting (you know, the dance where you hold the bin between your knees, and slide your fingers down the side of the bag to try and coax it out!). The liner just lifts out.
I was a bit worried it would look huge, but it doesn’t – definitely a bit larger than our previous bin, but not massively so.
I paid full whack for this, which seems an inordinate amount of money for a kitchen bin, but I am sure it was worth every penny and am confident it will last many years.

Love this extra large Bin I would of given it 5 stars but was just a bit disappointed it didn’t have an inner plastic bin but other than that I love it and the Red looks grea

Love these bins. I’ve had 3 in 20 years and I only got rid of the other 2 because of size (went down s size and then back up a size) and also a little neglect from my cleaner using harsh cleaning materials on the metal. Seals all smells inside when closed. This size holds a great amount of rubbish, we are a family of 6 and we empty our bin every other day.

The previous Brabantia was dented from so many house moves and a young son that liked to beat up the lid when raised. We looked around but this still came up on top. Comes with a good warranty, works well, wide mouth that stays open, looks good. What more do you need? So good we bought it again.

Super annoying as it’s unhygienic having an open bin, and was not cheap. I have no idea how to get to Amazon Customer services to request an exchange for the faulty lid. Gutted.

Got it for a good price. Fits the standard large kitchen bin liners from Sainsbury’s so I’m happy with that.

Sturdy and stylish, I’m pretty happy with my new bin. The bag stays in place well and it looks good in the kitchen. It takes a good amount of rubbish and so far it seems to be dog proof!
Good bin for the money but missing the inner, removable bucke
Excellent quality bin which we have come to expect from a brand like Brabantia. The bin is expensive but you do get what you pay for. The bin is very sturdy and open/close mechanism is well built and feels like it would last a long time compared to cheaper alternatives. The only downside for me is that the bin does not have a removable bucket or inner bin. I’m yet to have any problems where the bag has split but if it did, you will have to remove the base of the bin to clean it all out. The lid has a decent sized lip so hides the over hang of the bin bag well.

Very very decent bin. You can tell the quality, and I know that the lid will survive a lot more than other makes. It cost quite a bit to buy this bin, but in the end I feel was worth the money. 4 instead of 5 stars as a bit pricey, but I’d say worth it !

Solid item which repels fingerprints but expensive.
Rather expensive and arrived late (although on Prime) but a necessary purchase for a holiday cottage where quality and reliability is paramount. Replacement for a bin that was a quarter of the price but only lasted a year before rusting…so am hoping this will last for at least 4 years! And to be fair it comes with a 10 year guarantee so fingers crossed. It is a lovely solid item and works simply (I was trying to avoid the maintenance complications and battery requirements of a sensor mechanism) and yes, the finish does seem to repel fingerprints as promised. The next time I see it will be after 2 months of solid guest use so I’ll be interested to see how it’s fared.

Love this bin, came with 3 free brabantia bin bags as well which was unexpected. The box the bin came in was itself within a larger box that was wel padded-good care was taken during delivery. Genuinely is fingerprint proof-I tested it!

After a good number of months, we’ve tried and tested this bin. It is the best I’ve ever owned and fantastic size for our large family.
Easy to use and keep clean, I would highly recommend it to anyone needing to replace their bin. Pricewise – well more than I would have wanted to have spent, but well worth it now that I have experienced it. Just watch on pricing – there is a variation depending on the colour style – so if you are not fussy – order the cheapest version – the bin itself will be the same!

Brabantia bins are fantastic as if any part stops working they are really good at sending you replacement parts for free so worth paying out the money for these stylish bins as they will last for many many years!

Great bin so much easier to use than the peddle bins
Great quality bin and the re-assurance of the 10-year warranty! I was a bit worried to begin with because I thought there would be a lack of availability of the size of the bin bags as this bin is on the larger end. However, there is one directly available from Brabantia themselves, and even easier it’s available on Amazon on a subscription service so you’ll never run out of bin bags!

Very pleased with this purchase, which is large enough to hold our waste for the entire week. While I have bought the branded bags, I found that the good supermarket ones worked equally well. Excellent product. It is the 3rd 60L bin I have had. Bought them for my rental properties. They don’t breakdown.
This is a very strong kitchen bin with a separate lid. It does not have a separate inner bucket because of its large size. This was a point I clarified directly with Brabantia as some bins of similar design but smaller volume do have internal inner buckets. The catch is the moving part which gets the most wear over time. It is useful to register the item on line when purchasing but it is also wise to retain the original proof of purchase in case a replacement part is needed. I am hoping that it will.prove to be a long-lasting purchase.

First I was looking for this bin because my previous rented home has one and its a great size. The price is pretty high so I looked it up on ebay and saw that there are some on amazon warehouse and bought one and it had a huge dent on one side and quite a few more dings on other side. So I returned it because amazon had another brand new just not in the matte steel at 64.99. As of writing this review the price is at 112.99 so really thank God for this.

Great bin for big family
Love this bin. We are a family of 5 that accumulates a lot of rubbish and we only have to empty it every 2 or 3 days. It’s big, but looks good in the kitchen and it’s better than the bins that you have to empty every day. I am only giving it 4 stars as I think the touch lid is going the same way as my old one (in that it won’t close anymore). I keep telling the family not to bang it, as I think that doesn’t help! But had it 3 months and all good so far.

BEST BIN EVER
BEST BIN EVER!! Amazing capacity and, together with the matching Brabantia bin bags, this is the best buy I’ve made in a long time. Extremely well made, looks great, can be filled right up to the top because of the flip-open lid, and then the bin-liner is easily removed without making a mess. Absolutely delighted!!!

Bought this to replace one we bought twelve years ago. It takes a battering in our house and had done well to last that long. The new one has a ten year warranty which supports Brabantia’s quality offering. It is very well constructed. Easy to use. The “catch” is easy to replace if necessary. I personally love the red colour though one also has the feeling one should be posting a letter in it rather than disposing of the crap.

There may be cheaper alternatives out there but if you can afford Brabantia then get Brabantia – there are no other bins as strong and beautiful. You’ll also save money in the long run as these bins last forever!
