Never made ice cream ever in my life. Used a Jamie Oliver recipe for chocolate ice-cream from the internet. Spectacularly delicious, found out afterwards that I used the Gelato spatula thingy rather than ice-cream. Made no difference.

Love this machine. Makes the best ice cream and sobet ever. So easy to use. After the ice cream is done i just wash the bucket and paddle and lid by hand with soapy water, as they are not dishwasher safe.
The machine is quite heavy so usually my husband has to help with the lifting. It does make some noise, but its not so distracting. I have had it on while we had guests and we were not bothered by it.
I would definitely recommend this machine, I have hd mine for 2 years and just bought one for my sister.
I find it very good quality for the price you pay.

I tried the “bowl in the freezer” method first to see if a) I could make decent ice cream and b) if It wouldn’t be a fad and end up in the back of the cupboard like so many kitchen gadgets. Well as a ice cream lover I moved on to look at a more sophisticated model. After reading many reviews this seemed to be the machine to buy and I have not been disappointed. Others have commented on noise, size etc but neither of these bother me. The noise is no noisier than any other gadget and it is doing what you bought it for i.e. freezing and churning. To help with keeping portions at a respectable level I bought 4oz plastic pots with lids that quickly fill up the freezer. It is very simple to use, -make the ice cream mix, turn machine on, set timer, I found 30 minutes suits my method, and then it’d done. The bowl and paddle lift out and are easy to clean. To make a second batch, maybe try other flavours, the freezing aspect of this machine allows you to start straight away without waiting around. But if you are an ice cream devotee like me the chance to make proper real ice cream is too good to miss, but beware your waistline might start to grow

Lovely ice-cream, really easy to use
No need to pre-cool, so if you take a notion to make ice-cream you can do so right away. It’s a bit noisy while churning but it is so easy to use and the ice-cream it produces is really creamy and the texture is perfect.

Its a nice piece and does make ice cream making easy. Only reason for 4 star is my lcd display was faulty. The cente horizontal display line is not working on my new maker.
Wow best ice cream ever. 40 mins and you are licking the spoon. So far only tried the frozen yogurt and basic ice cream. Both great. Keeps well in the freezer and still easy to scoop after a week. If you can make it last that long.

This was replacement for a Cuisineart unit that proved to be faulty and although costing a reasonable amount more it has proven its worth to date with great sorbets and ice creams.

This was an impulse buy for me but has turned out to be a gift to myself that keeps on giving. Great for treating people to what commercial ice creams and sorbets can never be. Home made rum and raisin ice cream is a revelation.

Definitely worth investing in a good machine that can churn around 1.2 litres (900ml of mix) in around 40 mins – although it ideally then needs around 3-4 hours in the freezer for perfect consistency.

I bought this ice cream maker for my mum and she absolutely loves it. It makes very good quality ice cream and is easy to use and clean. The price is expensive but it definitely is worth it for the quality

I have used this machine for over a year now, and produced a fair number of kilos of good quality gelato with it. Not as quick as the cheaper in-freezer gelato makers but definitely produces better textured product.

It certainly is a time saver as it makes ice cream very swiftly and moreover makes a good soft textured one. Unfortunately I have not tried making any Sorbet in it. We use a lot more Sorbet than Ice-creams,a much healthier option.

We made maple pecan at christmas time, and the fresh crisp pecans which hadn’t had the chance to go soggy after sitting in a store freezer or freezer van were an absolute revelation. Incredible!
After seeing some of the other reviews here, I think it’s time to think about some coffee flavoured icecream!

Better ice cream than the boutique stalls, at about 1/4 of the price, and I haven’t even started experimenting yet. Simple to use – make the base, put in the container and press Start.

So far, pretty impressed with the machine. My only problem with it is my inability to open and close the lid reliably. However, it doesn’t seem to impair performance if lid is less than secure. Results pretty amazing so far. So 4 1/2 stars.

Just bought this to use up some of our allotment fruits. Only done strawberry ice cream so far – got rhubarb, gooseberry,redcurrant etc to try. So far appears absolutely brilliant!!
6 years later – still making lovely ice creams
10 months later!!
Now had for 10 months – this is the one “gadget” I have bought that I actually use. You can just use basic ingredients (milk,cream,sugar and vanilla extract) and end up with ice cream that’s way better than really expensive shop – bought. – Some of my best have been adding cocoa powder to make really dark chocolate ice cream. Also adding strong filter coffee makes gorgeous coffee flavoured ice cream.
Also it’s really easy – I leave it to do it’s thing for 60 mins , then put the soft ice cream in the freezer for a few hours and it ‘s done!!

Well worth the money, the icecream it makes is lovely and only takes 45min for a plain vanilla icecream. We have found ourselfs making batches for family members and there loving the tastes.

Makes great Ice Cream, but follow the recipes carefully! Always worked a treat when I’ve allowed proper cooling time for the recipes that requires pre-heated ingredients – don’t be tempted to rush 🙂

I have now used this a few times and it is straightforward. Ice cream is good and makes within the time frame stated. Before buying I had read reviews regarding the noise of the machine. I have no issue with the noise, it is less noisy than my microwave. It is quite bulky and I intend to have an additional socket installed in my utility room as I feel it has already earned its counter space!

This one really worked – unlike the “put bowl in freezer type” we bought before.
Great Machine, if it starts squeaking a bit of WD40 on the underside of the bowl where the mechanism is sorts that rather distracting noise out….
We have only made a few so far but all the ones we have made have been fantastic and tastier. Even the vanilla is so much better. The cleaning is simple, the process is fast enough to not need to plan too far ahead. The possibilities are endless. I am so pleased we splashed out on this model.
