    Totally worth the price!
As soon as I got it, I had to try it and the ice cream was so good. The ice cream is fast to make, and the machine comes with a bunch of recipes for ice cream, gelato and sorbet. I can’t wait to try even more recipes.

    Makes lovely ice cream.
This Cuisinart ice cream maker makes lovely ice cream, and it is so much easier to use than the cheaper one that needs the mixing bowl left in the freezer overnight. You just mix the ingredients, leave these overnight in the fridge, pour into the bowl and switch on. Less than an hour later you have your delicious ice cream!

    Delicious ices
So far made Apple crumble ice cream, blackberry sorbet and Lemon sorbet. It’s so easy and the ices are delicious. Only three parts to clean in warm soapy water. It’s an absolutely great piece of equipment and looks good. It shouldn’t be moved so needs a permanent place on a kitchen counter.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAmazing machine, great quality ice cream
Video in this review is two in one: noise of the machine during churning, and the lemon ice cream I’ve made. The second video shows how the ice cream comes out if you let the machine run long enough for the ice cream to freeze. You can take it out earlier and it will be softer, but I prefer this way.

This review is 1.5 months since receiving the ICE100BCU, and I made 6 ice creams using it: vanilla, prickly pear, banana (twice), coffee and lemon. I prefer letting this machine run for 30 minutes before putting in the mixture, and then it runs for 20-40 minutes. The ice cream then goes into plastic container and to the freezer for overnight. Easy!

    Noise:
Surprisingly it’s much lower than I expected. Most of everything else in the kitchen made more noise. You can hold a conversation right next to the machine without problems.

    Cleaning:
Clean the bowl, paddle and plastic cover with hot water + soap (else some fats may carry over) and ensure you open and wipe the other side: do so by unscrewing the three phillips screws, taking out the bottom cover and the small metal from inside the bowl. Wipe from water, otherwise if you use this again it will freeze and the machine will making squeaking noises if not outright break.
I’ve done two batches on the same day and it’s been fine by following this cleaning method.

    Amount of ice cream produced:
The end result is roughly 1 liter of ice cream.
I recommend pouring about 700mL of your mixture, as it will take up air. If you go above 800mL or add in solid ingredients e.g. bananas, chocolate, walnuts etc., you’re risking the mixture hitting the top plastic cover due to overrun. I’ve done that twice 😀 Simply take some ice cream out and let it keep running.

So far I’ve loved every single ice cream that turned out, the banana ice cream in particular is one of the best ice creams I’ve had in my life. Anyone who had any of the ice creams I’ve made effectively devoured their share. Definitely no need to purchase ice cream again!

I’ll update the review as time goes on (probably at 6-12 months time), assuming I remember 🙂

    Fabulous gadge
Always wanted one of those as ice cream made at home is much nicer and better value. Need to be careful in cleaning the bowl. Never leave it sat in water as it has a known problem that means dirty water can get in and stagnate. As soon as I have made mine and empty bowl into freezer container I wash in hot water and rinse and dry thoroughly. But the flavours are fantastic, from bakewell tart to violet, orange blossom, straight vanilla etc… would also advise you look into buying a stabilizer and research a bit before you go on…

    Stand aside, Ben & Jerry's...
Since I bought this, I have made homemade ice cream twice a week. Every batch has come out beautifully! I’ve made mint choc chip, banana, fresh strawberry, lemon and lime, raspberry and lemon curd ripple so far. Absolutely love it and it has a permanent place in my kitchen now. Very highly recommend, as shop ice cream often has some quite nasty preservatives in it (as well as edible anti-freeze in soft scoop!), so this is tastier, healthier and all round better. Its also a really nice touch to be able to offer dinner guests home made ice cream as part of dessert. I am so glad I bought this piece of kitchen kit.

Just awesome. I bought it after a lot of research. My husband’s feedback was: “What have I been eating all my life when I thought I was eating ice-cream?”

Easy to use and to clean, amazing ice-cream as a result. What’s not to like?

I have found the ice cream machine to well and of good quality. I like the fact that you don’t have to freeze a bowl in advance makes easy use. I have made several types of ice cream and all turned out very good. The unit is easy to clean.

It is not as good as the one where you freeze the bowl in the freeze
The ice cream does not mix as well as the one where you freeze the bowl in the freezer, so not such a good consistency. I have both machines and yes for immediate use and smaller amounts I will use this machine, but for variety of flavours and better consistency I will still use the bowl in the freezer model.

We’ve been using this to make gelato and it just works every time. Gelato is smooth, reasonably easy to get out and the whole process is very simple.

If you want to make quality home made ice cream or gelato, at a fraction of the price that it is in the stores, then invest some money in getting one of these. You won’t regret it.

    Delicious Ice Cream First Use.
Only first batch done, but loved it. Recipe book only has 3 gelato recipes which was disappointing. If your ice cream or gelato is just liquid, like some have said, then you’ve prepared it wrong. I used the vanilla gelato recipe, but omitted the vanilla and added rosewater instead to make a Turkish delight one. I thought it hadn’t quite firmed enough, but I’d only waited 2 hours after making custard and know now to wait at least 6 hours for it to really cool in the fridge – or overnight as suggested. Popped into freezer after timer finished….delicious Creamy, tasty and perfect melting temp. Hopefully this will continue.

Product great but parcel delivered upside down.
I bought this because I am very creative and wanted to invent lots of new ice-cream recipies. I wanted to have a machine with its own freezer built in. This is very high quality and the dasher is of a good design. I made my first batch of ice-cream today. Coconut and banana. It has come out with a lovely texture and flavour. The only complaint I have, is not about the device itself. Amazon delivered the machine upside down, with the address label on the bottom, so it had clearly been upside down a long time. Ice-cream makers like this one should be kept upright. I had to wait 24 hours for the gases to settle. I was a bit concerned it may have got damaged but it seems to be working fine.

    Makes good ice-cream
I’m relatively happy, makes good ice-cream. The first product I received wasn’t freezing, after an hour the mixture was as runny as it was when it went in, just a bit colder. Amazon we’re great at replacing. The ice-cream doesn’t take long to make and is a good texture just out of the machine. It gets too hard when it is stored in the freezer and when left to defrost a little contains some crystals

    Good but not perfec
Very good. Easy to use and we’ve made some excellent ice cream in it. It’s quite large so make sure you have somewhere big enough to store it. Only issue is that the mixing paddle is made from quite flimsy plastic and so as the ice cream thickens the paddle stops mixing so well. At this price point the paddle should me made from something more durable!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usersvery basic, probably would have paid a little more for more features
his machine has been a life saver during the hot summer days. pretty reasonably priced and saves having to pre freeze anything
    pros:
great tasting ice-cream, sorbet, and frozen yogurt
no pre freezing (although the ingredients are recommended to be cold by the recipes)
got it on sale for 200 so the price was worth it

    cons:
you cant vary the speed for the spinning churner which is pretty important for the perfect sorbet.
you cant vary the temperature, so its a guessing game when you first get it.
the ice-cream sticks to the sides of the bowl and the churner isnt fitted well enough to scrape it off. a metal better fitted churner would be much better as I have to use a butterknife to get it off.
due to the other cons the desert often has an uneven consistency
bowl tarnishes in the dishwasher after one use, must be hand washed

Upgrade for true ice cream aficionados
Fantastic ice cream maker! Made several types of ice cream including some with mix-ins. All came out delicious and a lot easier than my old freezer bowl maker as I didn’t have to remember to freeze bowl the day before. The best part is using your own everyday ingredients for any type of ice cream you can dream up. You can control, to a certain extent, how you want your ice cream to taste.
Making ice cream doesn’t take as long with this type of machine either. Pour your cold cream base into the insert, set timer and start. Ice cream churns a lot quicker (40-50 minutes) and it keeps ice cream cold for a bit so you don’t have rush to get it into your container. The consistency of ice cream is a good deal better than freezer bowl IMHO so you can eat it straight away or put it in the freezer for a few hours to harden. Wash and dry insert and paddles after and machine is ready to go for the next batch.
There are a few minor issues that I found while using it. Pouring the ice cream base directly into machine was a bit messy so I took out the insert to pour the base in and then re-inserted it back into the machine. It’s also a bit fiddly to scrape out just churned ice cream from the paddles but I just use a small spatula and a spare plate on the counter. The unit itself is quite big so you need a bit of counter space near an outlet.
I had put off purchasing this since last year due to the price and size but I treated myself a month ago and have absolutely no regrets (except for the extra cm’s around my waist!).
If you love ice cream all year round, have people to share it with and have the space, this Cuisinart ice cream machine is a great little investment.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that it will pay for itself by not having to buy shop bought Ice cream, judging by the amount of cream, etc, that we have to buy. But… it really does make lovely ice cream!
So far we have made vanilla, strawberry and a honey yogurt version. All delicious!

OK its expensive yet great value. Only pity is its pans and beater cannot go in the dish washer you have to do it by hand.
I cannot see how (regardless of the cost of the machine) you can compeat on price of commercialy produced icecream. BUT on quality it win hands down. Best after the machine has made your icecream put it into a freezer to stiien up further. If left in freezer overnight + thaw for 30 minutes at room temp.

It’s big enough. Picks up it’s own little space on the counter top. I make my own recipes from the internet and then add it to the bowl and let it do its thing. I haven’t used a recipe from the book yet. Don’t know why! It takes about 40 mins to for the ice cream to finish churning. The consistency is that of soft serve! Good enough for the kiddos to start licking it up but it does require a short while in the freezer to get that hard consistence. The taste is as good as the recipe you use. This machine just makes it in a short time. I usually put it in when dinner is almost cooked. Just remember the amount of liquid you put in, although tempting to add more it expands when frozen and may go over the bowl.

Great ice cream and galetto maker, very easy to use, just set time and press start, machine does the rest for excellent results.

Excellent machine - Review after a couple of months
I’m very happy with the results so far.
First of all, the delivery from order, shipment, customs clearance, and delivery, from the UK to my front door in Israel was done took 3.5 working days, which I think is amazing.
The total cost was less than an equivalent machine locally.
The machine itself is easy to use. So far I’ve made various ice cream and gelato recipes from the Cuisinart guidebook. I found another Cuisinart guide online that has more recipes. There are 3 buttons, on/off, timer, and start. 2 learnings:
    1) The time guidelines are estimates. It sometimes takes less time till the icecream freezes and the motor basically stops rotating.
    2) The sugar quantities in the recepies are too high for my taste. I now put in 1/2-2/3 of what is specified, and think the ice cream comes out great.

Amazing, used all summer almost every day. Recommend you purchase or borrow some ice cream recipes and also experiment. You nan even make autumn and Christmas ice creams. It is heavy and big and was a permanent feature on kitchen worktop as best not moved too much. Just right for a family.

This was a present to myself for my birthday and is amazing. really easy to use and so much better to be able to make when you want as no need to pre freeze bowl.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe creamiest and tasty ice cream ever.
This arrived yesterday (the day after ordering), so this morning I trotted off to the shops to buy Channel Islands full fat milk and double cream. I also grabbed a small packet of fudge to add to my mix. 50 minutes later I had very yummy homemade creamy vanilla and fudge ice cream. It’s great to know exactly what has gone into it. I would recommend one of these to anyone.

Very easy to use. Quite an expensive investment but so far pleased I bought it as I can make ice cream / sorbet whenever I want and whatever flavour (subject to finding ingredients). Dragged my heels over buying it but really pleased I did.

Excellent bit of kit , the only 2 minor problems
1 its quite difficult to get the icecream off the paddle and 2 difficult to judge how long to put the timer on as the machine really struggles if the mix is quite thick as it nears the end of a cycle the motor sounds as if its struggling, , at this point turn it off but do not turn it on again as the moter won’t move it Hoody

Easy to use, very heavy and quite large but worth buying if making lots of ice cream.
So easy to use and having a timer & cool facility at the end of programme is great. Thw only thing is I have now learned to stop halfway through to scrape off the ice cream from bowl sides as the icecream freezes too early to the sides of bowl and the paddle churning doesn’t seem to prevent this. Otherwise a great product which can vary timings for soft or firmer ice cream.

The new Cuisinart ice cream maker has much better design than its predecessors. Much easier to use with useful timer system. Easier to clean too. Tougher more durable churning system. Excellent!

Sorbets and ice creams the quicker way
Rating the feature, I wonder what Amazon meant by “flavour”.
This expensive machine is worth the price. Other machines requires you to place the bucket in the freezer for a while. You don’t have to do it with this ice cream machine.
Because of its internal cooling system, the sorbet preparation is different from most online recipes.
Divide your fruits so that 1/3 will be used for a sirup.
Add water and sugar so that their weight equals the 1/3 of fruits. Let the sirup cool down for two hours minimum.
The remaining 2/3 of fruits should be equal to the weight of sirup.
The machine will give you an smooth sorbet after 45 minutes or less.
At time of writing, I am not mastering the timing to stop it at the “perfect” time. Working on it.
No problem in making nice ice creams: the online recipes work with this ice-cream maker.

I’ve never had an ice cream machine before, but I’ve found this to be great!
You have to be mindful that it’s not silent, but certainly not a problem.
Made delicious strawberry ice cream from the basic recipe book provided in 40 minutes and very easy to clean afterwards.
I’d recommend this for the price.

The best thing I brought during lock down, be careful how much you eat!
Amazing ice cream, we dropped down to gelato before out butt’s grew any more. The best thing I bought in lockdown but be careful not to put too much in at a time. I usually make a double quantity of vanilla gelato but put in the machine in three lots. Mmmmmm!

    Makes excellent ice cream.

Noisy and fiddly to extract the finished product without wasting too much. I would like a slightly larger capacity the next time I buy one – as it freezes the ice cream rises and flows over the paddles hitting the lid.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersProduces great ice cream time after time
I’ve had this machine for 4 years, and have used it constantly, making at least 3 litres of ice cream a week. I bought it after trying and returning a more expensive machine with many bells and whistles, including tinkly tunes, which failed to actually work and was frustratingly unreliable. This is a simple, efficient work horse, which works as it should, time after time, without fail. My only criticism is with actually removing the churned ice cream from the paddle, which can be a bit messy. But it’s worth it! Guaranteed for 5 years, it is a reliable machine and is worth every penny of its reasonable cost.

Yum, yum, yum, ice cream in my tum!
I waited a long time before treating myself to this. Used to have an small, freezable bowl, ice cream machine but the bowl didn’t fit upright in my new freezer. Now I can have ice cream any time I am organised enough to have the ingredients to hand. It isn’t silent but no noisier than the old machine. So far have made several batches of vanilla and chocolate by following the enclosed booklet. Vanilla works well, for next chocolate batch will revert to old recipe I have where choc is melted first as that will be a smoother mix. Look forward to more experimenting in the months to come.

Very easy to use and a vast improvement on our previous ice cream maker, where you had to freeze the bowl before attaching the mixing lid. Haven’t looked back since starting to use it and have made some delicious ice creams. Definitely recommend this. It may be pricey but worth it. It is quite large, so you’ll need to find somewhere to store it when not in use.

The cream of ice cream makers
Having used a Cuisinart ICE40 requiring pre-freezing of the tubs for several years, I wanted to upgrade to a machine with its own freezer compressor & having read several reviews, chose the ICE100. In the few weeks I’ve had it I’ve made a couple of ‘egg custard’ vanilla ice creams & many of the basic vanilla ice cream to match with my homemade raspberry & blackberry ripples. It’s easy to use, reasonably quiet in operation & produces consistently great ice cream.

    What's not to love?
There is nothing quite like homemade icecream.

The cuisinart is so simple to use, even I can do it!

Some recpies come with the machine, but there are so many available on line, you will be spoilt for choice.

Make up your recipe, pour it in the bowl, turn machine on!

It mixes and freezes, and after 50 – 60 mins, you can be enjoying truly fresh, full flavour ice cream.
