Simple and Brillia
My first foray into resin printing was with an Epax X1, for something built like a tank it lasted just over a year. One day it made a grinding noise and promptly died and the only way to get it running again according to Epax was to spend a few hundred to upgrade it as Epax didn’t make the components for the X1 anymore.
Enter Elegoo. I was a bit pensive at first of buying the Elegoo, BUT wow, it is half the price of the Epax, miles better print quality and faster too (z axis is still 0.005mm.)
The photo’s I’ve put up where my first print a 1/12 cyberpunk biker, using a mix of Elegoo ABS like clear and grey resin. I’m astonished with this printer. Prints that used to take 6/8 hours get done in 2.5/3 hours and as I said at a better quality.
It’s worked great for this larger sized figure and it works fantastic for 32mm minis too.
If you want a decent relatively cheap MSLA printer, you can’t gowrong with the mars pro 2
Fab machine, brill value for money.
This little printer is amazing, for sub 200 for a beginner to be able to turn out quality work straight out of the box, this thing is spot on. I’ve printed things that will fit on a 20p and things that fill the entire print plate, both have been super quality and super detailed.
Read the setup guide, level your plate properly, make sure you’re adding files in ctb. Format and off you go.
Chitubox can be a pain in the rear but persevere if you’re new.
The machine isn’t too noisey, it’s well built and solid. I’ve been using elegoo resins without any issues at all, haven’t had to adjust any settings either.
I only have one slight blip and that is that I cant get elegoo fep sheets for the pro anywhere so had to go aftermarket. These are a consumable so Elegoo really need to get on and remedy this.
Outstanding printer for the price.
This is an outstanding printer for the price. It has a mono screen and is the same printer as the Pro with a couple of small exceptions.
I recommend getting this over the Pro 2 every day of the week.
Elegoo also has a fantastic customer service department.

Started my resin 3d printing with the elegoo Mars, amazing printer and very happy with it over all
Started my resin 3d printing with the elegoo Mars, amazing printer and very happy with it over all.
I continued buying the elegoo printers (mars 2 and saturns). I still have it printing my smaller parts, its really stood the test of time. Was also convenient as I can interchange the reisn trays with the mars 2 that I have so if you upgrade from mars to mars 2 you can still make use of the trays you would already have.

Fantastic Little Printe
Been printing with an Ender 3 for some years now but been desperate to get in to resin printing. Finally caved and bought myself this Mars 2, have to say it’s fantastic. Been printing some very detailed models with brilliant results using Elegoo’s Clear Blue Water Washable Resin. Only gripe is I had a fault on the LCD screen after numerous hours of printing but Elegoo support have been brilliant, quick to reply and sending out a new one without any fuss. Would thoroughly recommend this printer if you are looking to get in to Resin Printing without spending a fortune.
Great machine
This is a great little machine. Really easy to set up and use as long as you are reasonably savvy. Very well built and solid. Easy to clean. Print quality is lovely for a 2k machine. Chitubox is a very easy, user friendly programme to slice and print from. Had it about a week now and very very impressed so far.

Easy to use and great quality.
Very impressed with the quality and ease of use. Ideal for printing off Warhammer etc. scale miniatures and terrain. Smaller build volume, as is the case with resin printers vs other types but ideal for my use.
Make sure to download the latest version of the slicing software as the software included on the USB stick is a couple of versions older. Comes with plenty of accessories.

Excelent printer well worth i
Amazing little printer would highly recommend to anyone getting into resin printers or anyone looking for a fast high detail mini printer!!
Great printe
This is my first resin printer and I have achieved excellent results printing miniature figures with this. As with all 3d printers, there is a bit of a learning curve around the print/process and how to arrange/orientate objects on the plate to get the best results but the Chitubox software presets for the printer work fantastically and the auto-support function seems to work very well.
Great prints, even better customer service
Prints in incredible detail, very quickly. If you’re looking to print miniatures (as opposed to prototype pieces that would be better suited to FDM), this is the perfect purchase. I had some issues with resin curing to the screen but this was sorted by customer service rapidly, and they even sent a replacement screen!
Couple of notes:
– Make sure you have good ventilation in the room the printer is in
– Doesn’t come with resin so make sure to order your own, along with isopropyl for cleaning
– Research what print settings to use before printing with a new resin, this will save you some failed prints
– If you’re paranoid about resin leaking onto the screen, use a tablet screen protector to protect the LCD screen (just make sure it’s adhesive and has no blue light filter, etc…). I’ve not noticed a quality drop since installing, though it may cause a minor one.
– A plastic razor will help with getting bits of cured resin of either LCD or tablet protecto
Great resin printer for beginners
Printer has great print quality even on tiny minis. never done any 3d printing before but the first print was really easy. Comes with everything you need, except resin, in the box.
I need to contact support about something with my unit and they were super helpful and really went above and beyond. Will def be buying from elegoo again.

Amazing product.
Brand new to resin printing and this has been an amazing experience, be able to print so much at a great value!
Customer service is very helpful whenever I needed help with the machine and I’ve taken great enjoyment out of this printing Hobbie.
Planning to get the latest elegoo printer after learning resin printing.

Sheer Genius
Truly amazing piece of equipment. Seeing an object slowly emerge from a bath of grey goo is quite fantastic. Easy to set up, and print off the chessman test piece. It’s worth watching a few 3D printer demo videos on YouTube to learn about some of the tricks of the 3D printing trade, such as rafts and supports which make printing much easier and more reliable. They’ll also give you tips on the upkeep and maintenance of your printer. You can also pick up thousands of free (and paid for) printer files ready made. Sheer genius.
Great customer service
I’m pretty new when it comes to resin printers this has been a great entry machine easy to use and the quality is unbelievable good too good for the price point Apart from my own inexperience which lead to a broken uv cover which by the way elegoo was so kind to replace I’m truly happy with my purchase top-notch customer service
Scary to use the first time but it is superb
Having never used a 3D Printer before, but being aware of the potential challenges, especially when you are needing to be careful with chemicals that are in liquid resin, I was somewhat scared. However I took my time, read the instructions carefully, looked at a few guides on YouTube, and successfully printed the test models. I have done loads in my first month of owning it.
One minor grumble, is there is no guide to how you use the software (Chitubox) – I got there in end with some help from other users.
Love my 3D printer!
Great printer from a great company
he vast majority of my prints are for miniatures, specifically the 40k universe. The level of detail this machine can produce is astounding easily matching and on occasion exceeding that produced by large companies. Pic of some included, my painting skill doesn’t do them full justice.
The machine is easy to setup and clean, I use Elegoo Water Washable resin which has been great although slight learning curve from colour to colour as properties change a little.
Every electrical item has a risk of problems and for me and the reason I leave this review is because its how a company handles your issue. Elegoo are top class.
My screen went within the first 100 hours of printing. Now I was disappointed and expected to be told that screens are a consumable part and will need replaced and jog on. At the time writing Mars 2 Pro screens are out of stock everywhere. Elegoo apologised for the shorter than expected life, and arranged to have a screen sent from China, tracked to the UK, and as a gesture also a fresh bottle of resin.
Thanks Macey at Elegoo for your help. Had you handled it differently this would be a very different review.
Quality printer!
Spent way to much on 3D prints and I’ve ummed and ahhhed for ages missed out on the Saturn both times pre order. Amazon had 15% off in a flash sale and I pulled the trigger. Glad I did. Quality out the box and I’ve no prior experience. Print quality is superb. Only problem I have it needing a bigger build plate – hence after the Saturn initially. Can’t fault this at all, touch noisy but no more than a gaming PC fan. Build plate east to set and barely any odour using elegoo grey resin no more than the pile of plastic sprues and glue I’ve used after a heavy build sesh.

Great resin printer for a relative beginne
We’ve used FDM printers before but are entirely new to resin printing. This was a great first toe in the water for resin printing and seems to do the job really well.
Dream machine, and dream customer service.
This machine is just brilliant. Straight out the box, very easy to set up and start printing. The Elegoo facebook page is full of help, hints and tips should you get stuck or need help with anything. But you will be an accomplished resin 3D printer in a short space of time. Just make sure you have your cleaning products to hand and routine down as clean up can be a little messy until you find your flow, but that is down to resin printing in general. This machine just makes the who process so much easier. For the price it is mind blowing and i am already saving for the Elegoo Saturn.
As for the customer service…… If only all companies had Elegoo’s customer service the world would be a happier place. After over 19 months of use i had worn the screw heads on teh resin tank when replacing the FEP sheet. I contacted Elegoo just to ask what screws i need to look for to buy replacements. Not only did i get a response within 24hrs and my question answered, but they then asked for my postal address and told me they would send me replacements screws free of charge…. WOW! Not something i expected for having owned the machine for nearly 2 years. But other than the the screw heads wearing out (which isn’t that suprising) this machine is still working and pumping out prints as reliable and as good as the day it first printed. Thank you Elegoo for making resin printing fun and affordable. Can’t wait to get the Saturn.
Awesome printe
This is my first ever resin printer had it just over 3 weeks and it’s amazing I’m able to get really good quality prints straight away just got to follow the instructions and videos on YouTube on levelling and it’s best to use the same brand of resin as the printer I’m definitely getting another 1or2 can’t print things quick enough lol

Fantastic for beginners
1)Turned up VERY fast and very well packaged
2)once you figure out the set up which isn’t hard and if need be there is all ways trusty YouTube your ready to print in less than 30 mins
3)fantastic for beginners and a good price
The only thing I would like to see is a tweek to the design and have a door on the front rather than the bucket style lid as it would take up less space then
It would also be nice to have a sample bottle of resin say maybe 100gram bottle just enough to be able to print the test model
I did have a major problem as my fep film burst while printing I contacted elegoo and I was STUNNED the response was fantastic and very fast I can not fault elegoo when I upgrade my printer I will be getting another elegoo product for sure
Great price easy to use some common sense needed tho.
Amazing bit of kit the print quality is phenomenal not to forget its a budget printer but for the price amazing.
The mars 2 is just as good as the mars 2 pro, the difference is 10mm build height.
The delivery time, and seller was also amazing too it come well packaged encased in foam.

Great printer and excellent customer service from Elegoo
This is my first 3D printer and it’s great! Very easy to set up and get going, and really good print quality. I’m mostly printing miniatures for dioramas and the level of detail it can produce is amazing.
Elegoo’s customer service is also fantastic. There was a minor fault when it arrived (nothing major, little electrical thing, didn’t stop me using the printer) and within 24 hours of the printer arriving Elegoo had helped me identify the issue and posted replacement parts. 10/10!!!

Amazing
It’s a great printer amazing quality, only a couple of issues I feel personally the instructions could have been a little more in depth I had done alot of research before hand but felt for a begginer could have been a bit better, and the rubber seal a bit useless falls off everytime you remove cover but other than that it’s an amazing printer for the money

Great printer, once shoddy QC issue sorted (tl;dr - dodgy USB socket required fix)
Out of the box, my printer fired up fine. Went through the motions of levelling bed and checking the lcd etc. Installed the tank, filled it with resin and plugged in the USB stick ready to print the rook test piece. This is where it started to go wrong.
The stick was fine – read perfectly well on my laptop. But clicking on the file icon on the printer failed to open any file structure from the stick. Wiggling the stick around and applying upward pressure would – occasionally) give me some access and the sticks led would flash. Obviously there was something amiss with the printers USB socket. No bent pins inside… Loose internal connector? I took the front part of the printer off, and saw that there is a small daughter card attached to the front of the printer. It is attached to the main main board by a standard usb lead, with a bit of hot glue on it to stop it from creeping out.
This was fine, no issue there. Looking more closely at the socket the memory sticks plug into revealed the issue. Half of the surface mount pads on the socket hadn’t been soldered… how did this pass quality control?! Rather than go through the pain of getting a return sorted out, I fixed it myself as I had the tools to do so. But I wonder how many more printers have had this issue and have been returned as dead on arrival?
Once fixed, printer reads memory sticks fine, and the test print worked fine. More than fine – it came out incredibly well. So what would have been a 5 star review is marked down due to a niggly issue that shouldn’t have seen the outside of the factory.
Excellent resin printe
This is a great entry level printer for 3D printing.
The instructions are very clear and easy to use. The machine isn’t overly loud, and the smell isn’t too strong compared to other printers I’ve encountered.
There was a small manufacturers fault with the screen that caused it to bubble and crack, but Elegoo have been very good with arranging a replacement screen.
They have easy to follow YouTube videos to follow to replace parts.
The prints themselves have all come out well. Some experimenting and experience is needed, but it’s all part of the process.
Perfect for beginners
As a beginner to 3D printing I did a lot of background research into the best printer for learning with. I have a friend who runs a business and he suggested the Mars 2 as a great starter and he wasn’t wrong.
There is a wealth of support and tutorials online aswell as a great community on discord and Facebook.
The Elegoo Facebook group is also extremely helpful and often run competitions to win great prizes.
I would also recommend looking at Patreon for a wealth of companies that supply high quality high resolution stl files. This printer is more than capable of printing high quality.
The only downside is the size, but that’s what makes it perfect to learn with, once you’ve become more competent I would suggest moving up in size which is what I plan to do.
Excellent Value Resin Printer (please read if you are unsure about buying one)
This is a brilliant entry level priced Resin Printer with excellent print quality. I dont recommend this for anyone expecting something that works just using auto settings and a press of a button. This pretty much goes for all resin printers I think but something that needs to be considered before making a purchase.
If you dont know much about them, do your research (as I did) and make sure your happy with the workflow required to make a successful print. You need more than just resin. Nitrile gloves, a resin wash of some description (IPA, Meths or water depending on availability and resin used) and a Curing solution. I have a IPA wash bath, water bath and a curing station. This works for me as a cheaper option.
If a print fails to adhere to the build plate chances are it will be stuck to the FEP and that really is a PITA. Best solution is to soak VAT in IPA for atleast 1hr but longer if you can to release the print from FEP. This would get frustrating after a short while so I cant stress enough the importance of researching the right settings for your print. Its not like a FDM where you see a print fail immediately with a resin, you normally have to wait a good 30mins before you either see a print on the build plate or not.
Things to help maintain print success – longer bottom exposure times for larger prints (70-75s), dry ptfe lube film on fep film and a film of resin spread over the build plate.
Aside from that and after my first couple of failed prints. (due to improper slicer settings for size of print) Its working very reliably.
Overall, this resin printer is excellent value with no real faults for its price. I am very happy with this printer, great no nonsense touch screen works great, solid build with inclusion of Z Axis linear rail.. It could do with the internal fan being a bit quieter and in hindsight a cabinet style enclosure instead of the over top hood would have been better for me personally. Then the only other thing which I felt was worthwhile doing as a mod (20-30 on top) was to install a Flexi plate. If you do this you will also need the spacer to modify the z height to make this work. Thingiverse part #4609740
If you dont mind the potential challenges/workflow of using a resin printer you cant go far wrong with the Mars 2 mono.
Excellent first printe
I bought this with some of the water washable resin and a mylee UV nail cureing station. I’ve never used a 3d printer in my life but set up as per instructions did’nt even bother with the test print and grabbed a file from thingiverse. It just worked, seen reviews with people having multiple failed prints wich I can only assume meant they did’nt set it up properly. The first print was great at 0.04 and scaled to 30mm, the only problem was I used supports that were to thick for the models I printed so I lost a few fingertips, but lesson learnt. For less than 300 for the whole setup its excellent value and can’t wait to bang some more creations out and hopefully be able to get into designing my own.
Great entry level resin printe
Have been printing in FDM for a couple of years and decided to make the transition to resin. Not disapponited with my choice of machine. First print afetr setup was great and since then I have not had one fail. Good solid machine and ready to print staight out of the box.

Does what you think it will
Great product, does what you want it to do. Pretty easy to use and set up. I recommend disconnecting the extraction fan though (not the heat lamp fan though ) and covering the chamber vent holes with tape. Otherwise you will end up with a horrible resin smell the entire time it’s running.
Great little printer for detail work
Its taken a little bit of time to get it configured to print high quality and the learning curve is quite steep.
There are plenty of great tutorials on youtube, and some very active facebook groups full of helpful advice.
Expect your first 3/4 prints to fail as you dial in the machine.
The print settings depend on all kinds of things, temperature, resin etc so be prepared for trial and error.
I have consistently had good prints after the first few failures.

This is the first 3D printer I have ever owned (SLA or FDM) and I can honestly say it has been a breeze to use. Very simple UI, very simple setup, very fast prints.
The mono screen apparently makes lasts much longer than the other type and also lowers the exposure time required for each layer. The only thing I would like to see is a 4K screen as opposed to a 2K screen, but the 2K screen here is absolutely amazing. The only issues with prints I’ve had are due to my own learning process.
I couldn’t make my mind up whether I wanted to go for a cheap FDM or SLA. For some reason I went with SLA but I regretted it pretty quickly. I have a small house and the smell from the UV curing ink is bad and I kept tasting it now and again, even though I was wearing gloves when handling the prints. Generally SLA is just messier than FDM. Since then I’ve bought the Creality and it’s performed much better than this. I will say that I think it’s phenomenal that you can buy an SLA printed for less than 200. After messing around with the supports using the software and then taking the plunge and roughing up the build plate with a bit of sandpaper, the prints stuck without issue. It took me a good few tries. After taking a 4 week break I returned to the printer, removed the resin tray and the lcd screen came with it, breaking the ribbon. I thought I’d just lost 200 but you can actually replace the parts so that’s another positive. I’ve given 4 stars because I know how difficult it must have been to get this product out so cheaply. Well done guys and I’m still happy I bought it, SLA offers more detail than FDM so now I have both!
Umm, it's very messy and works best if the area you are using it in isn't too cold
A bit of a solvent heaven. I seem to be swimming in vats of isopropyl alcohol and the pre-cure stickiness is a bit unpleasant. The quality of prints is excellent but generally quite small.
I am a model railway modeller in 4mm and 7mm scale and have been using various Elegoo products to print my designs. I have found the change to a mono screen to be a vast improvement, not only in giving a small increase in size but also in the time saving. I use standard Elegoo resins at 2.3 second exposure for 0.3mm layers and have found this to be an excellent product to get crisp, accurate and detailed prints. I have also just purchased a Saturn for larger parts and look forward to reporting on this at a later date.
Great printer and amazing print quality but challenging and time consuming process
I simply cannot fault the printer itself, its solidly built and the output is of very very high quality the objects are very close to plastic moulded quality.
The problem I have is with the SLA printing process itself. Be prepared to have to do additional time consuming tasks to get the object to print properly, the numerous failures until you get the supports set properly and the time consuming cleaning and curing post process. Do not get into SLA printing if you want ease of use, stick to a FDM printer.
This is a hobby in itself and it will take time and effort to get a successful and good quality print.
Amazing
Seriously just buy it this little printer is absolutely amazing the amount of detail on the models is outstanding and after a few teething issue caused by myself not realising models needed more support I am really satisfied and would recommend to anyone looking into buying a first 3d printe

Bloody fantastic
Even though Elegoo have released upgraded versions (pro, mars 2, mars 2 pro) this is stil a fabulous machine. Print quality is extremely fine. I wasn’t expecting much for the price but its great.

Superb Quality & Suppo
The unit is both superb for starting out in 3D printing and also for experienced printers. The one key element that this machine comes with is the team of dedicated professionals who are at the other end of an email / call to help sort any issues you encounter. I encountered one issue with the power supply to my machine, this was easily resolved with an email and Free of charge spares, and instruction video to fit. Consumables are easy to obtain and fit, especially with the machine coming with the necessary tools for replacments.

Amazing.
Never had a 3d printer before. Me and my friends want to start our own mini making business for tabletop gaming and the quality is amazing. I have paired this with the Siraya tech ABS resin and not had one print fail. Simple to use and the build quality is amazing

Great 3d printer for even a beginner, easy to use and setup. Comes with all the tools you need and a spare FEP for the vat. Chitubox comes on the stick which needs to added to your computer. Watch the YouTube videos for help on using that, pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Been working nonstop since I got it, a couple of failed prints but that’s down to user error.
Awesome
Absolutely awesome 3d printer especially for miniature wargamers. Takes time to learn but once you’ve mastered everything it is very rewarding and it all becomes second nature.
Brilliant customer service
Very good prints and much easier to use than a filament printer. Best of all with this particular printer is the customer service. I bought this fairly soon after release and was delighted with quality of the small prints I was producing. However, the user group started to complain about artefacts on larger flat prints, and eventually it became clear that there was a problem with the uv focussing. I was disappointed and didn’t expect anything – the size of the prints I was producing weren’t too affected by the problem. However, the manufacturer came up with a solution which involved a new uv array and lens unit and then shipped , from China, replacement parts to everyone who could show they had a problem. There’s a new model out now and I definitely recommend it.
Excellent Printe
I tried the FDM geetech printer but just could not get it to work regardless of what i tried, returned it for a refund and after watching lots of reviews and doing more research i went for the elegoo mars pro.
I’ve not been disappointed and wish i’d bought it first, easy to set up and the first print was a success and the same with multiple prints therafter, tried prints with supports and that needed a slight adjustment in exposure times etc but again successful print after successful print.
All in all a really good printer for the begineer and the I’m sure the pro alike.

Perfect, cannot fault i
bought this as a xmas gift to my boyfriend and i cannot fault it. normally i cannot use 3D printers but as this one levels itself, i can help with prints. the extras it comes with are really useful and helpful, particularly the special funnels with gauze in the bottom for returning resin to the bottle after a print. instructions were really simple and easy to follow. fully recommend this printer.

Professional quality prints.
Fantastic device.
Definite learning curve though, so be prepared to have to search online resources and fiddle. Also can be very messy and the resins are an irritant, so important to bear that in mind and plan accordingly.
Once you get going though, it is extremely satisfying to print out things.
The quality is excellent, don’t think that you need to do everything at the highest quality, the difference is barely noticeable to the naked eye and using a lower resolution can save hours of print time.
Awesome printers, definetely the best buy right now! I own a few Elegoo Mars (simple) printers so this will also be a quick comparison between them
PRO:
– very fast, i got 3s @ 0.05mm layer height on the Resin XP2 Validation Matrix for Elegoo ABS Like Gray
– easy to level, easier than the Mars and more precise
– if you are used with printing full plates on a 5.5″ dispaly you will be very gratefull for the bump to 6.1″
– no layer lines on the prints that had layer lines on my clasic Mars printers
– INSANE print bed adhesion, be carefull with bottom exposure time, i regreted everytime i went above 25s for 0.05mm layer height
– shaper than my simple Mars printers even though they have the same pixel density
– MAX level written on the vat
– way less smell than with the simple Mars
CONS
– the drops of resin that fall from the front margin of the build plate land on the margin of the vat and splash the hood
– when you lift the hood, the rubber that attatches to itd bottom will get stuck in the legs that hold the vat, a bit annoying when it falls in a vat full o resin
Nobody wants to be in need of technical support but when you print non stop, inevitably something will break. Rest assurred that the Elegoo service team will do everything they can to troubleshoot and solve your problem, in my case they even sent me a new build plate which i broke while i was leveling it.
Fantastic little printer but be aware of build quality issues
Overall the Mars Pro is a brilliant user friendly little printer, with some beautiful detail achievable with the right pre-production in place. However just over a month in and with only light use the USB port has failed, one of the fans makes a horrendous grinding sound intermittently and I have had to wait some months to get a replacement from the manufacturer and replace myself which is not something you’d want to do if you aren’t semi comfortable at least with electronics.
Customer services for Elegoo though have been extremely helpful and clearly want to help.
Don’t get me wrong this unit is overall a good sturdy piece of kit but some details do feel like they need an upgrade. The USB port obviously being the main one for my particular unit.
Pros:
Takes up next to no room.
The noise isn’t horrific.
Seems to be fairly gentle on the electric bill.
User friendly.
Easy to set up.
Very well made and very sturdy.
Cons:
Can be a bugger to clean and maintain.
Removing prints from the build plate really can be a pain.
Other:
(Personally) The FEP film supplied really doesn’t seem to like being used. I took both clear sheets off the film, installed it and got one good print then the rest failed. This may be my fault and perhaps I haven’t figured out where I went wrong yet.
Finally, the Mars pro as it should be!
I’m only one print into it but everything worked out of the box, in roughly 2/3 of the time this would take the original. I’m actually fairly impressed with the dimensional accuracy across the plate, something that has been an issue for me with the original. The build plate texture is also nice, and seems to give the print an improved adhesion. Overall, a decent upgrade to the original Mars, and what the ‘pro’ should have been.
Excellent print quality. Worked first time.
I was a bit apprehensive, as I’d imagined that resin printers would be difficult to use and messy. This wasn’t the case. You need to watch the video, and plan your work area, but if you work carefully you won’t make any mess.
The quality of the print is incredible.
Loving the machine and made a number of prints. Takes a few failures to get the just of how everything should be used and creating supports on the software provided. The only issue i would have is the USB that is provided to load the prints onto is always needing to be reformatted and reloaded, however used my own USB, reformatted and not had a problem since with that issue (Just ensure if you use your own that is no bigger than 16GB). I can’t fault the machine, excellent and made a lot of detailed prints on it. Can’t wait till the Elegoo Saturn comes onto Amazo
Elegoo mars resin printer .. Review first version ..(consumable screen, consumable Fep)
well after using my Machine for a while I decided to do a little review.
I will start of by Saying its a Great machine for the Price ..can be tricky to get used to it as it has a small learning curve, but once you get your first prints they are pretty much Fantastic and wonderfully detailed
So if your prepared to get a little messy ..pouring and cleaning resin , its a Fantastic little Machine.
There is a smell with the machine ..but personally I dont find it a problem as I have a vent nearby
but remember you are playing with resins , ps there are water washable resins and plant based ..so you could play with those but you can get resin cleaning machines as well to make the work even less messy ..
Consumables………
the screen on the build plate is classed as a consumable and burn out after a while, this is on the first color versions of the Machine the New ones Have mono screens and last a lot Longer, but the replacements are not overly expensive and simple to replace ..
there is also another consumable Which is a plastic sheet called a FEP.. its a thin sheet that covers the Vat base this also wears out over time and can be easily damaged so care is needed here ,but again its not an overly expensive part ..
Support…..
I have had a few Dealings with Support and found them to be extremely Helpful and Very professional and they have gone all out to help with Any issues I had, so be prepared to be pleasantly surprised by Great customer Service 🙂 but give them time as its a very Busy time for all at the moment ..
SO OVER ALL ….
If your really wanting to do high detailed small parts ..this is definitely the Machine for you ..
it takes up a very small Space is relatively quiet and looks Great
In fact I Now Own 3 of these printers and they are kept very Busy
So its 5 stars all round from Me

long term
Had the Elegoo Mars for just over 8 months now and not missed a beat. Details in the print are second to none. It took about half and hour to set up (very easy), and was blown away by my first print (the castle helix thingy that comes on the supplies usb stick). had well over a 100 prints on it, no sign of the LCD screen going yet, but please be aware this is classed as a consumable and will need replacing at some point (plenty of youtube vids on how to do this). have changed the film in the bottom of the resin vat twice, the first time was done to me slicing the film with a metal scrapper and the second time was for exactly the same reason, but very easy to replace, just a little time consuming due to all the screws!
Overall, had a fantastic time with my little printer, not looking at changing it anytime soon.
Great Printe
Had my Mars for a while now, and as a newbie to 3D printing, this unit made it easy.
Remember to buy resin and ipa as well. I now use water washable resin, due to the smell, and other chemicals used to clean the.models. Much easier to remove supports in hot water.
Quality is great, and software easy to use. I have a Mac, and that version seems pretty solid. (Pardon the pun!!)
Downside, which I think applies to most resin printers are the lcd seems to fail for no reason. Mine has cracked twice in 6 months, but these parts are available and not expensive.
The fan is also quite loud and runs continuously, until I found a file on one of the many support groups, which only turns it on when it is printing. Much better, but may replace it at some point.
Overall very pleased
Great printer and great service
Bought this a couple of weeks ago now and had an issue with the build plate (my own heavy handed fault I suspect). Customer service from Elegoo was first rate and a replacement was sent out straight away, at no extra cost.
Print quality is great and the overall quality and ease of use feels much better than the photon this is replacing.
Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic printe
This is so easy to use, all I have done is cleaned a little excess rod grease up, let it warm to room temperature so it’s a little more pliable (the grease has solidified after being in storage I guess). Calibrated the exposure time and it’s fantastic.
I feel most problems people have are user error (bad supports or exposure times etc).

Great value for money and easy to use (my 1st MSLA printer and i got the grasp of it super easily)

My minis bring all the nerds to the yard
Amazing machine! I wanted to get an SLA printer after having used FDM for a while. I was nervous at first as I didn’t know much about SLA but my base knowledge of FDM helped a lot.
If you’re completely new to the hobby please make sure you watch lots of YouTube videos on this.
I use Elegoo Grey resin which has given me great results, it takes a few tweaks in the settings to get the best results but it’s worth it.
I’ve printed over 50 Dungeons and Dragons minis, all are either the same or above Hero Forge quality.
Amazing quality and low price.
I am a model maker and have used 3D printers for a while, but haven’t used a resin printer before.
If you are used to conventional extruded, filament printers, the surface quality, detail and precision of this machine is amazing. Early days admittedly as I’ve only run two test prints so far, but very impressed.
With elegoo’s own brand grey resin and default settings, I’ve had a 100% success rate so far with no failed prints.
The strength and flexibility of the cured prints is incredible too.
The machine itself is very nicely made, mostly from aluminium with great quality, robust machined parts and a substantial deep red UV case.
If you are put off by the chemicals, cleaning, ultrasonic baths and UV curing, etc – don’t be, the results are well worth the effort.
Great start to my 3D printing journey
This is my first entry into 3D printing. This is a brilliant machine and so easy to setup up with excellent online community if you get stuck. Having so much fun with this thing!
Edit: I accidentally damaged the cover completely my fault and they simply sent me a new cover straight away. I am simply gobsmacked at the level of service especially given the current times and difficulties businesses are having. Proof they simply stand by the quality of their products. They now have me as a long term customer and will be recommending them to friends and family. They are like the John Lewis of the 3D printing world
No brainier to buy!!!
Very low expectations but really impressed with it,
tbh seen a few like this (LCD resin based printers) recently. I stumbled across this one on you tube & things looked good but yeh always a little sceptical as they get paid to say nice things.
Anyways decided to take a gamble, opening it up everything seemed well packaged.
The build quality I am super impressed with.
The software for the splicing is really impressive, super easy to use & just works.
USB port on the back is annoying so I’d advise an extension cable
I was using a random brand of resin (UV Photocentric) & managed to get a successful print on the second go.
You will need a few other bits for resin printing (UV chamber, isopropanol, a container) this printer is pretty much ready to go. The fans are noisy to sleep in the same room & though my resin isnt smelly you might need to have it in another room anyways. Motor is quiet :).
If your looking for a resin printer I would definitely buy. If your new to resin printing then there will be a learning curve like you have with all of them.
This Elegoo Mars 3D printer is amazing. If you have been thinking between this one and the Anycubic photon, save yourself a lot of trouble and grab this one.
I am still shocked at this low price for SLA and the quality is unbelievable. I had a query with elegoo service EU and they were fast and helped me out within a day, no question, which technically they didn’t need to (Thanks Leon).
Highly recommend. A+++
Also recommend the washable resin, it’s strong almost no odour and easy to manage. Added some photos of quality. TY elegoo. Will be adding the Saturn in couple months.
Really easy intro to 3D printing
Easy to set up and use, I had my first part in print within an hour. The slicer software accepts a range of common 3D CAD formats I mainly use STL as both Inventor and Shapr3D will do this format. I was expecting the resin to be more unpleasant to work with but it actually only has a faint smell.
The part come out a little soft, I put them in a UV cure oven for an hour, but an hour in the sun works just as well.
Two things to bear in mind however
1) The parts need to be washed in isopropyl alcohol after printing, you need a tank to do this.
2) The resin tank on the unit is a nuisance to clean, particularly if you have multiple resins. I have made a small drawer system to store up to 4 tanks with resin which seems to work well.
All in all, this is the most fun I have had for under 300 quid in ages!
Very good 3D Printe
I am writing this after 3 months of purchase. I have had a lot of time to use this and here is my reveiw.
Overall, very good 3d printer which is capable of creating very good 3d prints. I made all teh 3d models seen on the image. For a 3d artist like me, this printer proves to be very useful. A few pointers though –
1 – The default setting is not good. Increase the exposure time for teh bottom layer so it sticks properly to the bed or the model will fall of mid print which will just end up wasting time and ink.
2 – Join FB groups, there are 5 that I have joined, where you have a lot of info, much more that the officail websites.
3 – Try prints of different types and play around with chitubox support system as it is not the best.
I am still learning and can’t wait to try out more challenging prints.
Well worth the money
My first 3d printer. I chose to go resin after reading reviews and watching youtube videos.
From unboxing to uv curing my first test print was a miracle. I think I almost watched it the entire time.
It’s a very satisfying feeling to prove to yourself after reading umpteen reviews, that deciding to purchase the Elegoo Mars was definitely right.
Print detail is amazing, and this is only entry level.
Good sele
I’m very happy with this printer.
The big disadvantage is that to print an item 15 cm tall is taking 12 h .
Incredibly good quality for value price
Overall extremely happy with this printer.
The occasional small issue is overshadowed by its simplicity, ease of use and quality build for the price.
Recommended.
First printe
I have considered getting a 3D printer for some time now and finally decided to get one. The price was reasonable and the delivery was really fast.
Incredibly easy to set up though I did have to give the axis a bit of a clean first, no big deal. The software is really easy to use.
Print quality has been amazing so far but I have yet to do something with major detail, hence only a 4 for quality. I will update that at some point though if it changes.
I would highly recommend this even if your not on a tight budget.

A wolf in sheep's clothing
What to say about this machine. First impressions are that the build quality is really good. However, not without problems. One of the bed screws had plastic moulding covering the screw thread preventing the vat from being secured properly. Easy to fix so no great problem. The touch screen is really useful and a nice touch. A minor grumble is that the USB port is on the back of the machine. Again, not a big thing just use USB extension cable.
With regards to ease of printing. You better get used to “the lift of disappointment”. Let me be clear, I am not saying that this is not a good printer, it is, but you have to know what you are doing before you start printing. The provided rook design prints perfectly and lulls you in to a false sense of security. However, do not be fooled!!! Unless you understand how to slice your design for printing you WILL end up with no prints. Given that it can take hours to see if a print is successful, this is frustrating to say the least. Quite clearly the rook has been carefully designed to just work.
Again, let me be clear, the printer does work and it works well once you understand how to use it. Spend some time researching on Google, YouTube, Redit, Elegoo Mars facebook groups, learning from other peoples experiences before you jump into trying to print your own designs. It will save you a lot of frustration.
Oh, one more thing to say. In your trawl of the Internet you will find people recommending that you alter your machine in some ways. For example, sand the build plate. My experience is that I didn’t have to do any printer modifications. They might work, I really don’t know, I just never did any.
Points to pay attention to:
1. It matters that you print in an environment that is not too cold. 20C plus
2. Make sure that the print plate is level
3. Make sure that you expose the resin correctly. More exposure time required for the initial 6 – 12 layers. The resin you use will effect the exposure time
4. You almost certainly will need to put your design on supports to get it to print. Yes I know the rook print does not use supports. No I don’t understand this. Yet!
It’s a good printer and creates really great objects. You just need to put in the time upfront to be successful.

Grea
The print quality is amazing and the simplicity of the software and ui is perfect for me! The only thing that is less than great is the fep film that I have had to replace already! Other than that it’s a great all round printer!
