    Exactly what I wanted
This is a replacement for an old Kenwood that stopped working after many years service. The new Kenwood is quite heavy and the bowl isn’t light either. However, the mixer is beautifully built, easy to use and looks good. Lots of accessories available too. Mixers aren’t cheap so I’m pleased with the price for something that will probably outlast me!

    Great mixe
This mixer is the best I’ve had in a long time. I previously had the big kenwood with every attachment. I always wanted the glass bowl. I was nearly put off by other reviews but decided to go ahead. Yes I paid for the kenwood name but who wouldn’t. My advice is treat it with care and do not force the bowl to lock in position on the mixer stand. It holds perfectly well for mixing on half lock. This way you don’t have to force it to unlock. Very powerful. Bought the flexi blade for 15 as an extra and it works great. Great price especially over 5 months.

4 cakes down and 2 pizza weekends
A great standmixer, does everything you expect it would at this price. Other reviews mention bowl getting stuck which is true and the solution is to oil the base which works fine. Until the one time I forgot.

The only downside side is the huge glass bowl which compared to the metal one is huge. At some point it will be replaced.

The other issue is the mixing attachment does not reach the bottom of the bowl so you end up having to stop the machine and the scrape by hand then turn it on again until the mixer has picked everything up.

    Overall a great product.

    Makes great dough for bread
After many disasters not building gluten by hand-kneading, we got this. Yes, expensive I know… but we have guaranteed baked bread each time now and we can use this for other forms of baking.

Great addition to the kitchen – we bought black which was 200 cheaper than the exact same model in red. So if colour matching the kitchen is more important than the products you make – go for the more expensive models.

I always wanted a Kenwood mixer - now I have one and I love it!
I have bought a few cheaper mixers over several years and often on the basis that a 1500 watt motor should adequately deal with my few-times-a-week bread making (I don’t like supermarket bread). Often these necessitated frequently stopping the mixer in order to scrape the dough from the sides into the middle of the mixer bowl but I assumed (in my ignorance) that this was normal. My initial concern with buying the Kenwood was that it is only a 1000 watt motor and possibly weaker than those mixers I’ve previously owned but how wrong I was! The Kenwood is a significantly different machine. It mixes effortlessly and in a shorter time than my previous machines. I noted too that the machine head does not rock up and down noisily like all of the cheap versions I have previously owned.
With reference to the complaints I have seen in other reviews about the glass bowl locking into place, I used a little smear of vegetable oil on the base and resisted twisting the bowl into its locked position. I have had no difficulties in that regard at all.

    Very heavy bowl
Very pleased with this mixer, with just a couple of negatives. The mixing bowl is incredibly heavy and could be an issue for people with arthritis or weakness in the wrists. Also I couldn’t remove the bowl after the 2nd use. After some investigations on the internet I found the answer was a spray of WD40 round the base which worked a treat. I now keep the can in with my baking stuff!! I have only had to use it once though.

    Great buy
I’d been deliberating for some time on buying a Kmix but the expense had been putting me off, I made the decision finally to buy one and I’m so glad I did. I’ve used it so far for cake mixing and pastry which has made my life so much easier. I’m really pleased with the results especially with the pastry. I store it on my new kitchen worktop as it is too heavy to keep lifting and it looks so chic in the grey. I will be using it for many years to come.
