Not as high quality as my computer screen but you can hardly tell unless your being picky. I absolutely love this thing and can’t imagine how I worked without it before. I wish they made sizes for every laptop cause I now have a 12 in side screen hanging off my 16 in laptop. Love love love. Get it you won’t be sorry

I love this portable monitor and it has worked great since having to teach remotely due to COVID. I used it last semester and when I tried to use it again after summer break it was not working. I contacted Mobile Pixel customer service and they were very fast at communicating with me to try and troubleshoot. Once it was clear the product was not working properly, they sent me a new one and provided a return shipping for the defective one. I am sooo glad I contacted them, now I can start my Fall semester without any technical issues 🙂
I really needs the dual screen to work from home. this is by far the best dual screen I have ever seen. it doesnt require additional space on the table as its attached to the laptop. I can detach it anytime when I dont need it. the angle is perfect. def my best purchase in 2020
Just received and I’m in love. {wish it was larger—but netter then nothing}.
Setting up was a bit weird, use to plugging things in and driver automatically setting it up. So used the manual and it wasn’t making sense. So then used a thick paper insert, with completely different instructions—and waaalah, perfect. My laptop is missing that suggested port, so I’m using a usb. People spoke of drag, using usb, it is SO slight, it’s not enough to irritate me. I’d say the color ans such is completely acceptable as well.
Upon discovering this product and looking at their website video, was immensely impressed. If I may say, I feel it is an organization that works together to creative an ingenious, very utility and certainly awesome product.
Having to work from home, the 2nd monitor definitely increased my productivity at least 50%. Not to mention the table I use is quite small and the fact that this monitor attaches, makes it all the better as opposed to hooking up a stand alone monitor.
I also travel and as a result, to be able to have the monitor attached (via magnets) to my laptop, enables the logistics of packing all the faster which in my case if crucial.
Build quality is solid, and will most likely purchase another Deux Pro to really ramp up productivity.
I also want to wish the staff nothing but pure success. Seems like a great organization to be a part of.

I bought this for my work laptop, and I’m not able to install any additional drivers on that computer. Therefore, I was very happy when I saw that the screen worked shortly after I plugged it into my work laptop’s USB-C port. The screen quality is much better than the quality of the screen on my work laptop, and I’m very glad I made this purchase.

The initial set up was pretty easy but my screen was blinking on and off. I contacted customer service and they responded quickly with clear instructions on what I needed to do to fix the problem. When that didn’t work, they promptly sent me a replacement, no questions asked. The replacement just came and it works PERFECTLY. This is a wonderful product and a great company. They make a good product and they stand behind it. Really appreciate their responsiveness and quick action.
This is a great product. I work on my laptop a lot for school and to remote into work. I have a double-monitor setup with my PC, and I always felt my productivity was slightly lower on my laptop, not anymore. The set up was straightforward (I watched the quick video) and the screen works great. I have no regrets and I would recommend to anyone using a laptop that needs a “to-go” second screen. Great product.
I was worried the view would be really tiny, but the words were so clear and easy to read without having to strain my eyes. I love the plug and play too. And it was so easy to set it up. I could go on and on about the benefits. It was well worth the price

This is an awesome product. My company keeps giving me a smaller laptop each refresh. I have to have several screens open and one time for my work. With a small screen that means something is always in the background and extra clicks need to be done to bring it up front. With the dual monitor that is a thing of the past. Easy setup and mounting. A must have for pc geeks.
During COVID lockdown I have been working from home. I only have a work laptop. Having a second screen has been a huge improvement to me productivity. I will never go back to a single screen again. Amazing product and great seller.

Seems OK, but it will get pretty warm after you used a wire. And also they have a time delay for this screen. What I mean is sometimes when you use this screen as a second screen, they have a zero point Two to zero point five second delay of everything.
I’ve been working from home for the past few months and finally decided to get a second screen. I didnt want to get a monitor so I researched second laptop screens and came across this product. I am happy I made the purchase, my productivity has gone up and work has become easier. The screen is light weight and even matches the aesthetics of my work laptop (HP ProBook 13″) and even looks like its suppose to be part of the laptop. Set up was super easy, was ready to go out of the box within 30 mins. Most of that time was spent making sure the metal caps were aligned correctly on the back of my laptop. The driver installation took about 5 minutes and all it took was visiting a website. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an easy low cost solution for dual screens on a laptop.
I had to buy 9 pairs of 3M Velcro strips to help hold up the monitor in addition to the magnets
Overall great product. One thing to keep in mind is that the bezels on top and bottom are not equal. When extending the screen towards the right as displayed in majority of the pictures the thicker bezel will be on the bottom of the screen. If you decided to rotate screen harness to extend towards the left side instead the thicket bezel will be on top. Most of the advertising pics mislead in this aspect because it majority of their pictures the bezels look equally thin. Aesthetically imo it does not look as good when extending towards the left because the thicker bezel is on top of the screen. If they would have went with an equally thin bezel on both top and bottom of screen this would have been more aesthetically pleasing.
Attaches easily to laptop and fits in the carrying bag. It does almost double the thickness of my laptop. The screen is a little heavy.
You can’t really use this on your lap. It is kinda awkward and slides around. You need a lap desk or a table of some kind for this to work on your lap.
The magnets held on just fine for me. no problem. I cleaned the laptop lid well and let it dry thoroughly. Added the magnets and waited several hours before attaching the Duex.
They give you plenty to put on 2 laptops. I have a set on my personal computer and a set on my work computer. The duex travels back and forth to whichever computer I am using.
The Duex Pro is a phenomenal productivity tool that has supercharged my workflow. I do a lot of laptop work in unconventional locations (cars, coffee shops, bed, etc.), and the ability to have a second screen in those situation is awesome. The Duex is simple to set up (mostly – see below), and once it’s installed, day-to-day use is seamless. There is NO lag or downtime beyond a 2- to 3-second ‘wake up’ when you connect the screen.
As others have said, remember to close the Duex before picking up your laptop and walking around. The magnets are extremely strong, but the unexpected weight could swing your laptop screen to swing back too quickly and cause damage.
The only issue is that, for Mac Catalina users (current OS as of this review), the screen HAS to be used on the right side. If you flip the Duex over to attach to the magnets in the opposite direction, the DUEX screen will appear upside down, and there is no fix for this that I know of. So if you want the option to have your screen on the left, buy the additional kickstand.
Finally, Duex customer service has been awesome! There was an issue with my original shipment (defective cable), and once I got in touch with the company and we did some troubleshooting, Jack expedited a new cable shipment right away.
Overall, I am very pleased and will keep an eye out for future products from this company!
This portable monitor has been such a work from home game changer. I normally work on two monitors in office, but with stay home
order I’ve been WFH for two months. I bought this back in mid March and I couldn’t be more pleased. It’s so easy to set up, I had it installed and up and running 10 mins out of the box. I have a 13″ MacBook Pro and it fits great with it. From the other reviews I see people have had trouble with the magnets, but if you make sure they are lined up properly it holds on tight. I have no regrets buying this it’s great for home, travel, or meetings in office.
This has been one of the best experiences with faster than expected shipping and good follow up from the dealer to ensure all is well. If you are to buy this product. Id recommend this dealer.

I’ve really been enjoying the screen – I’m much more productive while working from home having the second monitor and I know it’ll be useful during travel once I’m back in the office. My one frustration is the cord it comes with. I thought I was going to have to return the screen because it kept flickering on and off, which was very annoying while I was working. I read some reviews where others complained about a faulty USB cord so I bought a replacement and… problem solved! I went back and forth between 4 and 5 stars because of this, but it’s frustrating to spend so much money on something and then to have to order a new cord and wait for it to arrive because the manufacturers couldn’t make sure to include a quality cord with it in the first place – especially seeing that this is a problem others had as well so it’s not like it was a one-off issue.
Other than that, I’d recommend it to others. Just make sure you follow the driver instructions and the instructions on where to install the screen on your laptop – it has to sit flush against the table to stay up.
Bought this so I would be able to work with two screens for college courses. Only wished I had the money for it a long time ago. Now after college will be using it for future videos. I loved the fact that they give you plenty of the magnetic plates so you can connect it to a total of 3 different laptops, at different times of course. Also loved that it can even be connected to a mobile device.
I love this screen. It works perfect for budgeting and work from home. I just found out that I can use and USB/C to usb/a to connect to my laptop. I will order the stand later because it does put a toll on the laptop in the bed lol. Brightness could be better, great value and great idea. I would recommend touch screen for future products and maybe a clamp type to the laptop.
Working from home is a lot better. I’m used to dual monitors and didnt want to use my tv to make up for the view and space. It’s super lightweight and easy to attach/detach. Easy to install and adjust for whatever you need it for. I’ve used it as a dual monitor and as a presentation screen.
Super surprised by how light this was and the quality is amazing! Very sharp and looks good next to my retina display on my macbook! This screen for sure will be getting some daily use! Couldn’t be happier with it! Worth the wait of shipping being slow due to the virus going around right now. I own a lot of portable monitors, this is by far the lightest one (without the housing/frame). I amusing it with a Surface pro 6, so I can’t use the monitor as as, unless I order a kickstand. With the kickstand this monitor will be too heavy. I just ripped and threw away the frame. There are two metal anchors act as hingers sticking out from the monitor (not on the frame) that I had used to use a Dremel to cut them away. Took about 10 minutes to do so. The monitor without the frame is ultra light and thin. Weighed in 14.8 oz. the frame is about 8 oz. the display is decent just bright enough for normal situation.
This product has definitely helped my productivity. I live in an apartment so anything that is average sized and portable is the way to go. For those who are wondering, like I was, the magnets are removed by heating with a hair dryer for a couple of seconds, to heat and loosen the adhesive, so that you can use a tool with a thin, flattened end to pry/lift it off. I’m using it with my work laptop so my main concern was how the magnets could be removed seamlessly and leave no damage. The USB part is a tiny bit long for my laptop so you have to be careful if it doesn’t fit perfectly. I had a little trouble at the beginning when the cord would come out and stop the dual screen. I just have to be extra mindful of where I plug in the USB so that there is minimal movement. I wish the part of the cord that plugs into the portablr screen didn’t cover the brightness buttons, or perhaps the buttons could be positioned differently.
I bought this to use whenever I work from home. Working with 2 monitors at the office increases productivity tremendously! I had no idea that this coronavirus would cause me to have to work from home even more. I am so glad I made this purchase. I even got a couple of my co-workers to get it too!
My Duex arrived a week early and this first thing I though was ‘IMPRESSIVE’ – it was packaged well, it had a sturdy design and it was easy to setup. I’ve already used it in a meeting at work and have WOW’d my co-workers. The product is great! I’m really liking it way more than I ever thought I would. I’ve got people who are googling your products as I’m writing this. Ignore the knock-off products and only go with the real deal – it is worth it!
This monitor works very well. I’ve been using it for over three months with a USB-C connected to an HP Spectre X360 and have had no problems. I was initially concerned about negative reviews, but those must be for an earlier version of the monitor. Extremely helpful to improve productivity when on the go. Highly recommended.
It’s a really helpful product, especially if you’re gonna be gaming on a laptop. The combinations you can make with 2 monitors all comes down to imagination. You can be playing a game like Minecraft on your main monitor while using Discord, watching youtube, managing your recording software, or anything you want on your second monitor, vice versa. Came with 12 magnets which is extremely helpful for people who can’t seem to stick a magnet on right the first time, like myself. Anyways it’s a great product, recommended.
It’s easy to set up and use and the free kickstand I got makes it easy to use in either orientation if needed.
I dropped a star as the weight does pull the display down the magnets and I am unable to place flush with the desk, for stability, with my gaming laptop due to its size. I know that’s more of a fault of the laptop but if the magnets for the laptop had a cutout to help hold the device magnets in place it would help in these instances.
Overall very happy with the device and I’m sure I’ll have colleagues wanting to get one too if the company will cover it for them.
I absolutely love this product. You gain so much more productivity and makes it easier to manage multiple windows and tabs at once. Email, excel, browsers, apps. No more toggling back and forth. Just switching your eyes from one side to another.
Only call out is I notice the back placement will slide when adjusting the monitor but no big deal. The magnets are strong and don’t cause issues for your primary laptop monitor.
I’ve had this for a month and absolutely love it! I get lots of compliments at Starbucks and always happy to redirect people to where I got it. I stumbled on this because my boyfriend’s boss uses it when she is out traveling for work and swore by it. I got it and was a little hesitant but it’s been amazing. It has saved me hours of eye strain having two tabs on one screen.
I purchased this screen because it attaches to the back of my laptop screen and reduces the amount of space taken by a second screen. This is an amazing screen that is very clear and lightweight. I have the Asus Zen screen and liked it but the Asus needs space on the table to be able to use it. They both use the displaylink driver and almost identical cable but the mobile pixel screen is clearer than the Asus.
I have read the previous reviews about the screen sliding down because of the metal discs that come with the screen and found that they were too thin and also the adhesive on the discs were too weak. I purchased the Clutchit thick metal replacement plates and used those instead which fixed the plates falling off and the magnetic hold which stops the screen from sliding. After fixing the little problems, this screen has been amazing to use especially in the field, as I am a technician.
When out and about I pull it out and use it in landscape mode for some extra real estate. When I’m using it at a workstation I use it in portrait mode for my chat windows, shell terminals, or long web pages.
The sturdiness is a little lacking, however it’s acceptable because of how light weight it is.
My only criticism would be the mounting discs supplied. They hold to my display well, but if your monitor is wider than this device, which I’m sure most peoples are, you have to choose a side for it to pull out on. You can’t easily rotate it and swap between the left or right side. This could be fixed with a longer mounting bar giving it a sort of track to magnetically attach to, instead of points.
All criticisms aside, the quality and usability of this product is great. I’ve been very happy with it.
I bought this for school, while on campus (Purdue) library more of the students and the teacher approached me and asked and wanted a demonstration of how this screen works. If I had about 20 of these things I could have easily sold them in about an hour. Very good quality, comes with extra plates so that you can put this on another computer if needed. Really good deal, would buy again.
Great way to extend your laptop desktop surface for multi document work.
I’ve been traveling a lot lately and I used to take only my laptop with me, and that limits my productivity because I don’t have my entire setup (multiple screens) and also it is annoying to only use one screen. I didn’t want to buy a new monitor to take with me because it’s bulky, but then I came across this monitor, which is perfect! It’s lightweight, portable, and attaches right on my laptop. Make my life so much easier, and I’m not annoyed anymore!!
This monitor is really ultra-portable., doesn’t need extra power adapter and weight is very light. It’s perfectly fit my laptops. I didn’t have chance to use it for travel yet, now I use it when relaxing on a sofa.
It’s very flexible, 270 rotation, 180 presentation mode are useful features, and can set it up for landscape or portrait viewing easily.
Application software is easy to set up.
The screen is great, color is vivid.
I’ve been using this for a few months and I like it. It works well–better than tethering an iPad.

I used this on my Dell. It works perfectly as a second screen. I was skeptical at first to see if this would work. I paid 200 for this item at the time I bought it and I thought it was well worth it. I have used it on battery and it did not destroy my battery life. It has made working dual screen on the go very feasible and has made making working on my MBA without a major desktop setup possible. Excellent product. I also like that it connects and can be adjusted with the magnets on the back of your laptops screen possible. I also like how easily you can remove it from the back of your laptop if you do not need it. Overall a great option.
Was surprised at the compactness and ease of installation. The instructions were excellent and easy to understand even for a senior, non-computer savvy person.
Had it working like a charm within 20 minutes of opening the box.
As a lawyer, I have found this very handy in client meetings where I find this very useful for confirming details of agreements and meeting notes with clients using the presentation feature. On the road and in the office it has been super helpful for editing complex document and contracts as I can refer to and work on several documents on a screen at the same time. The additional screen travels well and is very light weight. So far so good even though not cheap it is very good quality.
The item was so easy to set up. Note: after you fasten the magnetic plates to your laptop, allow them to set and cure for three hours before you attach the slide out monitor. This has been such an asset to my productivity (work remotely). It has definitely been worth the money, highly recommend this product.

All in all this is a bit of a game changer in regards to laptops. Awesome funcitonality and works great. Casing is a little flimsy and magnetic attachment could be a little more secure. Say a lip at the top to keep it from sliding downwards. Cable could use better management too. That being said, nobody else is making this so I’m giving it 4 stars. I would suggest this for th technophile who can trade form for function.
I have a dual monitor setup in my office but when I would take my kids’ places to get work done it was harder to get any anything done without my additional monitor. So I decided after much deliberating to invest in this dual monitor. I have to say I love it! It is compact so I can leave it on my computer when I put it in my backpack or even when I put it on my stand to attach it to my monitor in my office. So I really never had to take it off. The screen words are a little smaller than I would expect even though I have it set to the highest size. I mostly use it to watch videos while I take notes on my regular monitor so it works great. I am so glad I decided to try this monitor out and I would highly recommend it.
This has changed my life! Now when I am in meetings, I can keep my Facebook window open on this screen while Taking notes on a Word document on my main screen! I am so glad I found this. It has decreased my productivity but increased my self-esteem because I don’t miss a single ” like” of my posts! Thanks for selling this.
This is a game changer. I followed the directions pretty closely except after I put on the magnet stickies, I stacked a couple books on top of my laptop overnight for them to set. I haven’t had an issue with connectivity or the magnets not sticking but I also haven’t really transported it much yet. I was constantly using the basic split screen on my laptop for business purposes and it was one of the most annoying things ever! I am constantly referencing multiple business applications and this makes me so much more efficient. Love.
This is great. I’m in second screen heaven. Wish I had this two years ago. I just purchased and used for several hours today. The screen is smaller than my 17inch monitor, but that is fine. I easily moved my spreadsheets and documents from one screen to the next. No issues setting up, other than I didn’t read through the instructions to know how to change the display when I moved it from the left side to the right. Once I knew how to flip the display in Windows 10 it was easy to switch sides. Thank you customer support.
It does require a slight overhang in order to angle the screen. With my larger laptop dusplay I had to mount four magnets to use from the left and four others to use from the right. There are plenty of magnets supplied. The magnets aren’t perfect but I don’t see them as a problem.
I’ve already told others about this display. I think several colleagues will be interested. Highly recommend it.

The challenges are that the font size on the screen is small but there might be a setting that I need to find. The other one is the extra weight makes the laptop tipsy but as long you have the second screen angled in then it’s okay.

I ordered this thing before I went to a tech conference and boy was I glad to have it. I use it for different tech show n tells and web searching. It makes it easy to do a lot more with your laptop. I have also use the flip capability a mirroring of your screen in meetings which has been awesome.
Note: Use the standard USB connection as it works the best and creates the best connection. Never have had an issue by using this cord vs the other one.
It’s awesome! You deserve it!!! It is so convenient for me, a businesswoman, to attend any conference out of our office. You know, it’s fine for us in our office cause we not only have a laptop, but also have a PC on our desk. However, if we go to attend conferences and do a presentation for customers or vendors out of office, the portable monitor will be very helpful. I can say that the portable monitor made me day!!
The magnets holding it to the notebook could be a bit bigger or stronger, but other than that it’s been a good second monitor…

It is what I ordered and helps my productivity. It does take a little while to load when starting, otherwise good.
Having a 13″ work-issued laptop, the MobilePixel screen is a fantastic extension to my workspace. It is nearly perfect. The first letdown for me is that there is no power button. I have to unplug it when I store it behind my laptop screen. The screen is also very bright and the buttons to adjust the brightness are mostly covered by the cable. Neither issue is a deal breaker for me. The laptop screen with the MobilePixel screen attached to it is top heavy. I wasn’t careful and both took a 3ft tumble to the ground. Happy to say no damage to either my laptop nor the MobilePixel screen.
The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the application of it, or lack thereof. Screen works perfectly, seamlessly, and exceeded my expectations….when it comes down to functionality of the screen. But what is the deal with this case????? And the magnets……SMH……..representing MIT and and the best you could come up with was 4 magnets??????? That aren’t even that strong. Opening up my laptop is enough to make it slide off let alone trying to pull the screen out to use. I’ve experimented with placing more than 4 connectors since they provide you with so many (which makes sense in retrospect), it helped to hold it in place but only if I extend the screen 3/4 of the full length: which results im the whole left side of the 2nd screen being covered. I don’t feel the need to return, or to be refunded, because I love it. A lot actually. Just need to figure out how to make the application of the case more efficient without damage to my laptop.
P.S. If the Deux Pro is supposed to be how they’re portrayed in all their marketing videos then damn do they need to clean house in “Quality Control”…..or were those different then the ones you sell?

I had to order this twice because it was first delivered on my driveway and stolen before I got home! The second one arrived quickly and was well packed. After opening the item, I can say it appears to be lightweight and high quality. I used some heavy books to prop it up behind my laptop so that I could test it before I decided to attach the mounting discs. This is a really slick design and I wish it had worked out for me. Unfortunately this monitor is too big for a 13″ macbook pro and it sticks out on all sides. As you can see from the photo, this destroys the whole “clean look” I was going for with this monitor. I will return it and order a stand alone monitor for half the price! Great product, but NOT for macbook pro!
The screen measured 12″ across diagonally with black bezel surround it. Generally, it was bright and easy to read. Using the table as secondary support and the back-mounted magnet as primary support, the Mobile Pixel Durex monitor was stable. Relying just on the magnet to raise the monitor higher, you might be disappointed as it would eventually slide down due to its own weight. Also, the monitor could be removed anytime and kept separately for transport when not in used.
Overall, I found the magnetically mounted flipping 12″ monitor a good tool and handy for my field work. The reasons why it was not 5 star were the fragile sliding slot and the relatively higher price than stand-alone typical USB monitor.

Overall this is well worth the money. Helps greatly with productivity. The only concern is with the quality of the plastic parts. It does flex very easily so you have to be very careful when using.
The packaging feels very sturdy and the seller’s shipping speed is fast. I am not a Prime member but I received it within three days.
As a college student, I use my laptop every single day from the moment I wake up to right before I go to sleep. My entire life is on my laptop: my notes, study guides, pictures, and other important docs. I also like to consider myself a multitasker, therefore, I am always using the split-screen feature on my Lenovo ThinkPad. Recently, I felt as if the split-screen has not been enough for me. From all the projects and homework assignments I do from my computer I felt the need to have another screen. This is where the Mobile Pixels DUEX comes in place. It has made my life 100% easier. It gives me the chance to do all of my work on one big screen without having to continuously switch through multiple tabs. Not only does it make my everyday life easy, but it is also is so easy to attach and start to use, and it is an all in one product in which I can put into my backpack. Also, when I don’t need to use it, I can easily remove it to go back to my original laptop size. I am super happy with my purchase! I would recommend it to others who do work a lot and feel as if they need more space on the go!
My only difficulties with this screen were mainly due to my ignorance of Mac OS. Other than that the screen works and feels exactly as expected. The resolution was even better than I expected especially for the price. The magnetic attachment can be a little unstable at times when the screen is extended but considering it can be used with any laptop I’d say its an even tradeoff.
The support I received when I was having trouble getting the monitor working was great as well and they even compensated me for the inconvenience partially caused by Mac OS’s latest update and my ignorance of the operating system. I would recommend this for anyone needing more screen space for work.

I had to buy it twice and return it due to consistently blinking or not turning on. But after some great customer service, I now have a working product.
Go for it! The dual monitor improves efficiency in office! And size is perfect for traveling, it won’t take up extra space in your briefcase!
FYI – the review is based on my experience with XPS 15 2-in-1 which has a USB-C port.
I’ve been a major user of the BeChiq line of portable monitors, and have typically loved them because of their weight and easy accessibility. The negative was that I needed to have the desk space and the ports (HDMI and a USB power source) to get the monitors working for the models that I have.
In comes the Duex.
PROS:

+ I no longer have to worry about where on my desk is it going to fit
+ one single cable, I don’t need to carry a portable hub to convert it
+ weight is just as light as the other portable monitors
+ the magnets snap on really easily, plenty of leeway to monitor around if it is not perfectly centralized
+ The swivel on the monitor, I’ve already found myself using it twice to show someone my screen while I was in the conference room – was not planned.
+ took seconds to set up.
+ Able to set up with four monitors (including the Duex) rather easily and quickly.
+ I can carry it to a meeting and I automatically have a second screen.
CONS

None of these are really cons – but I figured I’d spell it out as FYI’s:
– I have not had the chance to test it out with a laptop that did not have a USB-C – I’m sure the user experience is going to change a little bit.
– I sometimes forget that my laptop’s is not used to the weight of the of the additional monitor, and it could be pulled back while I am carrying the laptop with the screen open. That’s more my stupidity than anything else.
Screenshot: I have a frankenstein set-up at the work place to make it work with my standing desk. With two main monitors (24″ and 27″) and my laptop, the duex has a different size altogether. 🙂 Duex is on the bottom right.
When I first saw this product I thought “no way.” I was surprised to find out that this is EXACTLY what I need to do research and work on case briefs (currently a 2nd year law student). I took the chance, and I don’t regret it. Very nice quality display and easy to install the software required for use.
NEGATIVES: I don’t know if its the material of my Dell Inspiron 15 lid (15.6 inch), but the four magnets on the actual 12.5 inch screen are not enough to support the screen when it’s fully extended to the left/right side. When it is in 180 degree mode however the four magnets will suffice. This problem can be fixed by gluing a couple of the extra magnets in the Duex Pro box (10 Total). That works for someone like me only because I am indifferent about what side my screen is on. If you prefer more flexibility and are opposed to gluing magnets on your laptop lid then maybe don’t buy this product, but besides that and an annoyingly long USB cord connection (fixed this issue with those little tie things you find on loaves of bread), this product is solid.
Screen quality is good. Versatility of the mount is great thinking with being able to angle it/flip it to back of built in display etc.
Attachment is not great, needs stronger magnets, it’s always slipping/moving under its own weight.
It’s actually surprisingly bulky in the frame, it basically doubles the thickness of my laptop, but the weight is low so it’s still very portable.
This is a GREAT second monitor to have. The speed and quality to me are great and I definitely feel I can work twice as fast with it. I did run into an issue with magnets (the first time). I didn’t know how to position them properly and ended up destroying the first set. However, the second time was a lot better so I still have one spare set left and the monitor fits well on my laptop now.
When I placed the second magnets on my laptop, I put some heavy items ontop of my laptop for at least 1 hr to make sure the magnets stuck and it has worked ever since. This isn’t the type of monitor you can just pick up with your laptop and walk around the house with (Unless you have it in the case on the back of your pc but it may swing your monitor back to far if you’re not careful), but it is good if you’re sitting in a chair and recliner. I have a flimsy laptop screen but it doesn’t effect it at all. It fits into my backpack just fine and the two cords we have are helpful for plugging things up.
I combined this monitor with 3 items of purchase, my gaming laptop, a portable cooling fan, and a lap desk tray with a retractable mousepad. It’s a wonderful work station though can be a bit heavy to carry in your backpack unless those are the only things you carry.
Ultimately this is a 4 star because of the trouble with magnets, it’s tricky to sheath my second minor unless the laptop is closed, and it came with a small scratch but nothing worth worry about. Still a purchase worth buying instead of a completely separate monitor that hogs up space on a table.
As a banking administrator, my job requires to have dual screen to perform efficiently working progress and this product works perfectly for me. 5 stars!!!
Works on Windows flawlessly. Installing the display link drivers on ubuntu was a bit more annoying and came along with the usual ubuntu 19 bugs but overall it works well on ubuntu too. Highly recommend!
