Very easy to set up, clear instructions and was done in about 10-15 minutes. Has totally changed the WiFi now as we don’t have any drop outs when working at home with virgin broadband

After a lot of research I ordered this system due to extrememly poor WIFI from my Virgin V3 router. What a difference! After downloading the app I followed the instructions to the letter and was up and running in less than 15 minutes. Top tips to other buyers, make sure you put your ISP router into modem mode and connect the satellites in the same room as the Orbi router, then move them. I then moved the satellites out into the rest oft he house and now have super fast WIFI all over my house (and garden) with no drop in performance from room to room. I have had them installed for about a week now and have not had a single drop our of WIFI. Well worth the purchase.

Il prodotto si presenta molto bene esteticamente ed molto semplice la installazione, attraverso la sua app si possono programmare vari settaggi, per modificare altri parametri si pu fare entrando al router dal browser. C’ una cosa che non mi piace ed la impossibilit di poter scegliere s collegarsi al router o al satellite, visto che speso si collega al terminale pi lontano e di conseguenza al che emette un segnale pi debolequesto inconveniente non mi porta a togliere nessuna stella per il semplice motivo che trovo l’assistenza Netgear semplicemente, ECCEZIONALE!!
Slight Hiccup at the sta
Only problem i had was a constant white glow on the satellite but after a few minutes of synchronising it finally connected. Wifi has had a considerable boost around the house being able to get wifi in all rooms without losing signal. Also download speed has increased slightly which is a plus. All in all its a very good system and will invest in another satellite booster in the near future. Highly recommend, worth the money.

Ho acquistato la versione con 1 router e 1 satellite per sostituire il vecchio router con wifi integrato. Configurazione veramente rapida, intuitiva e prestazioni con dispositivi wifi6 molto elevate ( ho una rete FTTH a 1 Gb di velocit con rete Vodafone). La copertura pressoch perfetta e non si notano lag o disconnessioni quando si aggancia al satellite o viceversa. Dopo qualche giorno ho cos deciso di acquistare un satellite aggiuntivo per ampliare ancor di pi la rete wifi in casa ( 2 piani con un totale di circa 200 mq e aree esterne coperte egregiamente). Consiglio l’acquisto.

Ho sempre avuto una casa con connessione WIFI ma sempre stato complicato tenere tutto in ordine e funzionante, e contestualmente aggiornato. con questo nuovo sistema ho tutti i 3 piani con copertura wifi ottima, un solo sistema da aggiornare e da configurare. Virgin Media customer? BUY THIS!!!!
I have been struggling to get a decent connection for months and have been getting really stressed with call after call to Virgin. I decided to try and fix the problem myself and after a fair bit of research, I decided to go with these.
I have 350mb fibre broadband with Virgin and am using their Hub3. I have about 20 devices connected at any one time and I’d say I’m a heavy user.
The reason I got this is I was getting about 30-40mb on a Ethernet connection on average and my internet kept dropping out twice a day and I had to reset my router. Virgin sent out three engineers and have basically told me there’s nothing I can do.
So, I got my Orbi box and first impressions were that it looked nice. It wasn’t too bulky and the design was pretty sleek. I liked the white compared to the black (it goes with my PS5 🙂
The box didn’t have any instructions as you have to use the app to set it up. That’s the only downside I found so far, as I like to read instructions beginning to end before I start, but that’s just a personal preference and certainly not worth knocking any points off.
The app was easy to find and the set up was super easy. Just remember you need to turn your router into Bridge/Modem mode – this is really easy with Virgin media but I don’t know if it’s as simple with other ISPs.
The app takes you through step by step, automatically detects your new router and to make it easy to reconnect all your devices, or even prompts you to rename your WiFi network and change the password to the same as your previous router so you don’t have the hassle of setting up all your devices again.
I’ve got a large 3 bed house with thick brick walls, so WiFi was always an issue before. I’ve put the router in the living room at the front of the house downstairs, one satellite in the extension at the back of the house downstairs and one in the front bedroom upstairs. We now have a really stable connection throughout the whole house. I’m able to get 370mb/s from the living room on WiFi and the lowest speed is in the back bedroom at about 200mb/s. This is the room that is the furthest away from any satellite or router.
I’ve only had it connected for a few days but it hasn’t dropped out once. We did trip the electrics the other day and I had to faff around with powering off the modem and router a few times as it didn’t seem to recognise it was already set up, but it got there in the end.
If you’re not very tech savvy and you’re having speed and connection issues, definitely give this a go.
Seamless setup, faster Wifi throughout the house and beyond!
The Orbi is simple to setup. Everything is well packed in the box. I connected the Orbi to the existing Wifi router – which is a Fibre to home ultrafast internet, thereby creating 4 “transmitters” (two different WiFi Ids now). All existing IoT gadgets such as smart bulbs, cameras connect via existing 2.4GHz network and all other phones, computers, now use the Orbi Mesh WiFi. The Orbi “learns” the obstacles around the house – switching channels for its backhaul 2.4GHz to reduce interference in establishing the mesh. Now I can wander around the house and outside in the garden and not have any drop of WiFi connectivity at high speeds – using the mesh WiFi SSID.

Au fil des annes, et avec un nombre toujours grandissant d’appareils connects, le Wi-Fi fournit par la box (Freebox Rvolution ) de mon oprateur commenait srieusement tre bout de souffle. Durant des annes, j’avais russi avoir un peu de rpit en utilisant des relais rpteurs tels que les vaillants Netgear PR2000 en son temps, puis Netgear EX6130. Jusqu’au jour, o j’ai fait l’acquisition d’une solution d’interphone connect Ring, qui a sollicit un Wi-Fi plus performant, car entre les cl streaming, les portables, et les effets du tltravail, le rseau tendu tait arriv saturation. Ayant entendu parl et ayant lu de nombreux articles sur la solution Netgear Orbi, je n’ai pas hsit un instant, bien qu’tant une solution assez onreuse, j’ai franchis le pas et du jour au lendemain tout changer de tout au tout . Tous mes appareils fonctionnent nouveau pleinement et en mme temps, sur un seul et mme rseau entirement gr par la solution Netgear Orbi RBK352. De plus, grce au Wi-Fi 6, les pages consultes depuis mes appareils de navigation favoris ( tablette, smartphone, pc portable) s’ouvrent instantanment, la latence est quasiment nulle. En prime, j’ai mme p dsactiver le Wi-Fi de ma box , car le Wi-Fi fournit par Orbi, est plus scuris ( WPA3 ) et bnficie de mises jour plus rgulires !
Having moved in to a large bungalow and got a new broadband provider we couldn’t get wifi coverage for the whole house. Even areas with coverage would drop out and left us unable to use our Sonos, SkyQ and mobile devices. Sky even supplied a booster which was a waste of time. I was sceptical of the Orbi especially with the high cost but thought I would just return them if it didn’t do the job. There are three Ethernet ports on each Orbi which is very handy for things like out Hue hub which can only be wired. I set one in the lounge plugged into the router with the provider wifi switched off, one midway in the house and the other in the far bedroom with my sons gaming pc plugged in and everything ran great. This pc originally kept dropping packets and I couldn’t cope with the continual ‘Dad it’s dropped off again’. After connecting all mobile devices we consistently got 62Mb p/s at the mobile devices which I have never had in any house I have had. The app has great functionality with useful information. I now have zero wifi complaints from the family and all our devices are running fast with great connection speed so I would highly recommend the Orbi’s.
Aprs une trs dsagrable exprience avec le TP-Link Deco WiFi 6 Mesh AX 1800Mbps Deco X20(3-Pack) renvoy illico Amazon, je dcouvre enfin un vrai rseau performant la maison. Ancienne btisse de 300m2 datant de 1901, mon problme tait les murs de la maison (80cm d’paisseur + 20cm d’isolation). Branch sur ma fibre orange, le rseau est stable, pas de perte de connections et le dbit trs performant (parole de gamers en herbe avec un ping moyen de 11ms). L’installation est d’une simplicit et rapidit dconcertante. Aucun problme de compatibilit avec ios lors de l’installation. Bref je recommande viveme

The Orbi reaches out around our extended 5 bedroom house with no difficulty and all devices such as the smart tvs, the Ipads, the laptops, the printers, the iphones etc. now work without any interruptions. Three of us can be in different rooms all on zoom calls! It is also responsive and fast. Why didn’t we invest in this system before? Our neighbour who is an IT expert helped to set it up and within 15mins it was up and running and I can keep track of it on the app. All I can say, is thank goodness for ORBI!IA LIVING VIVALDI CORNER SOFA
Fast throughput speeds
Got this system to improve the wifi coverage across my home,after installing the router and 2 satellites which was very easy,i set it up using the Orbi app on my android phone. The coverage across the house has not increased by much compared to the BT complete wifi which i was previously using however the overall speeds are much higher and closer to the available down/upload speeds. Its a good system with easy setup however on comparison with the BT Halo complete wifi setup its on a par at most just beating it by throughput speeds.

Simple setup and great coverage
Bought this on a recommendation from a friend who has one in his large house; I didn’t want as large system and he had so opted for the 1satelite and router option hoping it would be good enough for a med – large 3 bed detached and large garden. I am so pleased with the speeds and coverage. I was aiming for full coverage In the house only; not only do I have full coverage in the house, but I have full coverage in all the garden too. (House is 150sqm over two floors, garden at the rear is around 150sqm) Great price point and was happy that the smaller system coped more than adequately for my house, 10x the coverage than my internet provider. Speed tests at the router are 100mbps tested through orbi, and in the app I can see the signal strength of the connected devices and their speed too, just what I wanted. Setup through the app was easy, lot easier than my isp set up too. Not added a guest network yet (not enough guests ) but glad of the feature. All round it’s a great product that goes above and beyond. Been fitted a week faultlessly now and looking forward to years of reliable wifi, Couldn’t be happier and would reccomend to anyone. Pete

Our Orbi RBK352 has dramatically improved the wifi coverage in every part of the house. The dead spots are completely gone and even the back garden and garage are covered. Installation was simple and creative; install the app, scan the Orbi QR code then follow the linked instructions on your phone. So far an impressive product and service.

The router I got from my ISP didn’t reach around my whole home so I did a bit of research and Orbi seems the best option. So amazed with the Orbi setup. I have full wifi signal at every point in my home now. It’s is also more dependable and stable. Fully recommend Orbi to anyone and everyone!

Brilliant WiFi with no drop outs or connections being lost. Three kids on Xbox’s, tablets and phones etc, all working perfectly. Not cheap, but easy setup for a novice and best tech I’ve ever bought.

Well worth the money
I needed something that gave reliable wi-fi instead of the Virgin media hub 3 which constantly dropped out and was so weak it barely covered the whole house. The Orbi mesh system is brilliant, no drop outs and the fastest internet speed I’ve ever had. Well worth the money.

No more WiFi issues
Installed the orbi system over a week ago and not had any issues since. Great coverage with a strong fast signal throughout the house. Easy to setup too as you follow the instructions on the app.

HOWEVER – when trying to set up Sky Q (main box and three minis) the connection to the main box kept dropping. I searched the internet and there is masses of stuff saying that Sky Q is incompatible with this product. Apparently Sky are aware but comments suggest that fixing compatibility with mesh networks is low on Sky’s list of priorities.
My personal solution has been to reconnect Sky Q to my TalkTalk modem/router but to use the Orbi for everything else.

Faultless setup and performance
Very pleased with the solution which I’m using in a flat I rent and stay. Took minutes to setup and gives excellent coverage and performance across 7 rooms. Like the guest wifi feature. Excellent.
Very easy set-up, excellent coverage throughout the house
I bought these to replace older NETGEAR products (router & two wireless access points) as I wanted the benefit of a mesh system. The product was very easy to set-up and is also very easy to manage via the Orbi app. Great wireless reception & performance all over the house now (approx 15 wireless and 15 hard wired devices) without having to manually switch between wireless access points. It was important for me to have some additional network connections on the router so I can hard wire some devices. Generally, I would recommend NETGEAR and certainly I am happy with the performance of this system.
Outstanding mesh system
The coverage this mesh system provides is nothing short of remarkable. I have built a summer house at the bottom of my garden, a good 25-30 foot away from the kitchen and the satellite still connects up there. Cannot believe it. The Orbi 6 mesh system is worth every penny.

Worked straight out of the box.
I have a large L shaped house that has been expanded over the years so many internal walls were once external walls so thick, solid stone. This kit worked straight out the box. Following the instructions in the pack and on the Netgear Orbi app, not a complicated task. I now have a stable and consistent speed all over the house and also now well into the garden.

I tried 3 other popular brand meshes and they simply performed poorly or didn’t work. This is my 4th mesh in 3 weeks (yes!) before being satisfied it works wonderfully. I have a 600mbps broadband and a relatively small flat, but have some black spots due to the layout / construction. The other meshes were either maxing out at 100-150mbps, or unstable.
Orbi has been a good performer, I can get about 550mbps from the main router, and about 250 from a satellite. Slightly disappointing the satellites don’t perform as well given its got a dedicated backhaul as well, but at least it’s a stable connection. Could also be my positioning and other conditions.
The stability is really good. It was easy to setup. One peculiar issue I had with the other meshes was that sometimes Spotify connect would not work and hence could not play Spotify media my Yahama AV receiver. Not had an issue with the Orbi and everything seems to work wonderfully.
My config is such I’m using a mixture of wired and wireless devices, with a wired NAS on the satellite, which performs equally well. Also compared to other meshes, Orbi has a web interface in addition to the mobile app, which is great as you can tweak a lot more settings. The other meshes were a bit limited on what you can change.
One downside, 300+ for a set of 3 routers. It’s a lot of money for a small piece of kit (not even commercial grade), but I suppose everyone has joined the bandwagon and charging the same amount.

Antes de comenzar a llenar mi departamento con cables ethernet por todas las habitaciones, intent este ultimo recurso para tener cobertura en toda la propiedad. debo decir que me sorprendi gratamente y ahora tenemos cobertura total.
Es fcil de instalar y con la aplicacin en el telfono permite seguir todos los pasos hasta que queda funcionando sin problemas.
Debo decir que la velocidad se sacrifica un poco, pero con 100Mbps de subida y bajada para mis necesidades y de mi familia es suficiente.
Actualizacin (Ago 2021): Luego de hablar con el telfono de Servicio al Cliente de Netgear todo mejor. Ellos me ayudaron, hicimos unos cambios al DNS y ahora la velocidad vuela. Sin problemas ha llegado a la misma velocidad que entrega el router del proveedor: 700 Mbps

Got to replace Nighthawk router that wasn’t reaching corners of apartment due to very thick walls. Very easy to setup and after some repositioning of the units have 100% signal in all parts.

Copre bene un alloggio grande e giardino, anche se sole due bande non ho problemi a navigare in internet con il pc, guardare un film da amazon prime sul tv e avere altri devices collegati. Ma in due mesi ho dovuto spegnere e riaccendere il router per “resettare” il colegamento perso da uno dei due satelliti. Segnale wifi del singolo device non molto potente, si salvano perch sono tre. Ma un vecchio N55 asus ha un segnale pi potente (controllando dal giardino).

Solved my wi-fi issues
Had superfast fibre broadband installed from Virgin. Internet speeds were great, but the wifi was awful. The Orbi system is a great replacement – I put the Virgin router in modem mode, and Orbi does the rest. No dead spots in the house now over wifi, and you can even connect ethernet devices to the satellites, so all my smart home hubs are nicely tucked away now!
What a difference an Orbi makes
After several attempts to get decent WiFi speeds outside in the garden. Purchased the RKB353 extremely easy to install the router and satellites. I now have lightning speeds both inside and outside the house. 140mbps out in the garden where previously I would be very lucky to get 2mbps. Use the app to see what is happening on your network both home and away.

Signal at last! Had so many blind spots which the Orbi has now corrected. Easy to install – even for a non-IT person like me.

VM Hub into modem mode then turn it off and leave it for at least 5 minutes. Then follow instructions on the Netgear app and off we go. 10 – 15 minutes max and we now have strong reliable WiFi throughout the house which is fairly large, detached and brick built with thick walls.

Great piece of kit once set up
The setup was easy enough to follow but took a few attempts to finally get the Orbi connected to the Internet but once I did I have not looked back! We’ve moved to a 3 story town house and wanted coverage on all floors. We initially tried the TP-LINK ECHO 4 but that got returned as it was only outputting 86mbps of our 350+maps. When I called the TP-LINK customer service line they told me that was normal as it only outputs a max of 100mbps even though the box said up 1800mbps. After returning the Echo 4 I decided on the Orbi system as I’d heard good things about it. I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. I’m now getting around 380+mbps throughout the house without loss of coverage. We even let our semi detached neighbours use our guest wifi (that was easy to set up) until they got their Internet sorted. And they had no connections issues at all. The coverage was that good! I would definitely recommend going for the better quality product over the cheaper Echo 4 unless your provider is giving you 100mbps or less.

Zunchst vllt. Noch ein paar Worte zu meiner bisherigen Lsung. Ich habe das WLan der Fritzbox genutzt, die ich im Stromverteiler installiert ist. Um ein halbwegs ansprechendes Signal zu bekommen, waren zwei Repeater notwendig. Damit war es im Grunde aber auch nur ertrglich, denn es gab Blinde Ecken in der Wohnung in denen es kein oder nur ein sehr schlechtes Signal gab.
Doch dies ist nun Geschichte. Seit ich das Orbi Mesh WiFi 6 nutze gibt es echt keine Probleme mehr. Die Installation war Kinderlicht, die App lsst sich gut bedienen. Ich habe es erst nur mit dem Router probiert um Mal zu sehen wie es luft und wie das Ergebnis allein ist. Das war grundstzlich schon OK, aber ich habe mich dazu entschieden einen weiteren Satelliten hinzuzunehmen. Nun habe ich eine bestens aufgeleuchtete Wohnung und niemand kann sich mehr ber ein schlechtes Signal beschweren.
Ich bin rundum zufrieden, top Gerte, top WLAN und dazu sehen sie auch noch dekorativ aus. Was will man mehr?
Ca fait un moment que j’ai voulu amliorer la qualit de connextion de mes appareils en Wi-Fi. L’installation de ce systme a t assez facile, en suivant les tapes dans l’appli.
A noter que, malgr le fait que le systme est “dual-band” (pas de bande ddie pour le backhaul), le dbit reste excellent (250 Mbps en Wi-Fi sur une connexion fibre de 300 Mbps). J’avais cabl un satellite en “filaire” (via CPL) au dbut, mais je me suis vite rendu compte que le dbit via CPL tait 40% du dbit en sans fil).
Piste d’amlioration: j’aimerais bien pouvoir liminer ma Livebox Orange. Ceci est possible avec d’autres versions Orbi, mais je n’ai pas pu trouver l’option avec celle-ci. Peut-tre avec une future mise jour du micrologiciel?

After dropping out of video calls from my new home office, I decided to give the NETGEAR Orbi Mesh system a go and I’m glad I did. The previous extended wifi of 20mbps is now hitting 250mbps with this system and I am no longer dropping out of important work calls. Highley recommended!

Works well and good Wi-Fi speed
Although not a large house, the positioning of the Virgin Router meant we had patchy Wi-Fi to the back of the house, having used Powerline (Ethernet over Power) for TV etc which worked reasonably well, using Phones, iPad etc was a pain. The Orbi has resolved that problem. The only issue I came across in setting up (apart from being patient and following each step in the set up process) was the rebooting of the Virgin Router! The new Virgin Router takes a good 5 mins to boot up and connect to Broadband and for Wi-Fi to work and this wait seems to cause the Orbi’s set up some problems, but waiting for it to do its thing paid off (rather than being impatient and interrupting the process). So allowing yourself time to set it up and not rushing the process seems the “order of the day”!

Works exceptionally well with my virgin media hub
Excellent product. Was easy to install using the app on my phone and works very well in improving the WiFi signal that I had from virgin media. Signal was non-existent before and was driving me totally mad. A friend suggested these and while a bit expensive they are very good and exceptionally reliable. Very happy .
Great performance
Orbi WiFi 6 Dual-band Router(RBR350) Set up- fairly straightforward, app is a good way to organise set up and provides the instructions. Needed to google the colours appearing on the devices to understand progress but overall set up was around 30 minutes Satellites- work well and so far provided a seamless level of connection, no drops. A teams call on my iPad now works if I move from room to kitchen whereas previous extender dropped link for at least 5-10 seconds. Performance- incoming Virginmedia cable provides >300mbps. Old router achieved this in the same room and less than 20, inconsistently, in furthest rooms. Now the whole house has 300plus performance. No more complaints about FaceTime dropping ! App mgt – easy to navigate, good data points and much easier to manage than logging into website to review all settings. Summary – when I turn on a device around the house, have stopped wondering if the signal will reach. A great improvement and glad I made the change.

My ISP had provided me with a new modem/router hub for when I moved into a new house. But the house was built with solid internal walls – no hollow partition walls to be found!
I considered the various extenders/boosters on the market, but reviews all seemed to say that they only work to extend the range of the signal they receive, so if the signal’s degraded then it merely passes that on – oh, and for good measure, when connected to the extender you’ll be needing to connect to the SSID for that, which would be different to that of the router (so roaming in the house sounded like being a pain).
So what about a mesh then?
Long story short, my sister-in-law in Canada recommended Orbi from their experiences there, and a cursory read of reviews suggested they’re good, so in a nuthouse, that’s why I tried them first.
I went for the 2 satellite option because the router is at one end of the house, and there are 3 thick walls between there and the other end. So the router’s downstairs, one satellite is downstairs 2 walls in, and the other is upstairs in the middle of the house. Actually, I’d started with the downstairs satellite right at the other end of the house (ie 3 walls in), but the signal proved too weakened & so I relocated it.
Oh, and also because it’s a router only, and was replacing the ISP-provided modem/router hub, I decided to source a BT Openreach modem from a popular auction site to sit in front of the Orbi router.
And of course you get to use the same SSID regardless of which Orbi you’re connected to! However, I did note that at least one of my devices (a relatively old wireless printer), when placed in the center of the house, could actually see all 3 Orbis, and also each of the 2.4 & 5GHz networks on it, and decided this a security issue & refused to connect to any of them! I resolved this by relocating it to one end of the building where it could only see one & then it was happy (of course this is an issue with the device, not the Orbi system).
I’ve had it in place for a month, and our experiences are generally very favourable:
– I’ve had to reboot each of the satellites once each (on different occasions) after they’d seemed to lose touch with the router (with no explanation), but other than that have been rock-solid – hence a star off for “stability”
– I remember I had issues with installation using the app & only managed to complete it successfully by connecting to the web management page & the same has gone for ongoing management/maintenance – I’ve found it’s best done with a combination, as each provides different sets of information (sorry, I can’t remember details) – so that’s one star off for “easy to install”.
– Cost: well, it seems some similar-sounding mesh systems are in the 900+ bracket, so on the face of it 270 for this seems quite reasonable. However, it’s a lot compared to sub-100 extender-type solutions, and of course I’ve only bought it because the “free” offering from my ISP wasn’t up to it. So in absolute terms, it would appear to be good value, but in relative terms it seems a lot for something that I should have been getting for free (not that my ISP, or probably any ISP for that matter, would agree!). So I’ve lopped a star off for that.

Para poneros en situacin: mi casa tiene forma de “L”, y tengo el router en el extremo del palito corto de la L. Y tengo 1GB de Movistar. Pues con estos dispositivos consigo una velocidad mnima de 90/100 MB en toda la casa, incluso en los dispositivos ms alejados de los satlites (como es el caso del PC, de ah la captura que os dejo).

Eso s, yo inicialmente compr uno adicional y lo devolv porque me creaba alguna especie de interferencia que haca que, precisamente donde tengo el PC, a veces cayese la conexin (no en el resto de la casa). Quit el satlite aadido, dej los tres que venan de serie y funciona perfectamente.
With the sudden demand in internet speed and more connected devices since last year(online classes, TV media over internet, work from home etc), I was struggling for stable internet connectivity around my 2000 sqft apartment(with longish passage separating living, and study/bedrooms. I upgraded Internet speed , experimented router combinations with power line adaptors /wifi extenders etc still the demand was not being met.
I was skeptical about the “mesh” systems with my experience with “extenders” which many times I found unreliable and required frequent “syncing”. However, I went ahead with NETGEAR ORBI 352, router and satellite installed at either ends of the passage, replacing old routers, and extenders scattered around the house. The improvement was dramatic, now internet connection and speed available across the apartment is very even and stable, and also having to deal with only one SSID all around the apartment !. I believe it is possible to interconnect the ORBI router and Satellite over Ethernet cable so more capacity can be freed up for connected devices. This completely serves my purpose and should be fairly future proof and good for speeds upto 1Gbps.
As for my experience in the past one week
Performance ,Coverage, availability and stability of connection is excellent.
Installation was very easy and was up and running in the first attempt.
There was however an issue with speed test which showed only 100 mbps whereas my connection was 300mbps.The problem was resolved within minutes through NETGEAR app chat support , the culprit was the old cable between my modem and ORBI router. This was systematically identified by Netgear’s support engineer( please note this was at 630am in the morning, and you deal with real people and not “chatbots” sending you automated elimination answers)

Excellent Mesh Wifi - Better than expectations
I got this as I was fed up with Virgin Media’s Router. This is so incredibly fast. It has all the ‘bells and whistles’ one could want. Signal strength is great – only needed one of the satellites in a 3 bedroom house. Setup instructions are great and simple – the software does most of it. Excellent – I recommend it!

Our house is old, with thick walls and a large footprint. The router is at one end of the house and getting wifi to all parts of the house using a repeater was problematic – especially now we’re working from home.
The Orbi was simple to set up and throws a good signal through the whole house AND into the garden – fantastic!

Installing the Orbi Mesh system has completely changed the frustrating relationship I used to have with my WiFi to a confident, fast, secure and controllable relationship. By far the best upgrade I have ever made to my home wifi. Both indoors and outdoors connections are strong.
Installing it is a bit complex because the app sometimes behave randomly.
Once setup is done, it works like a breeze. Make sure you buy 12v router backup power supply which gives you uninterrupted internet when power cut happens. You need one for each endpoint.
I got it because I already have 14 wifi devices (laptops, phones, tv, xbox, watch, tablets) connecting to my previous router. This was causing speed drop and internet fluctuations.
Pros:
1. Great wifi coverage. Covers my 1800sq ft 3 bhk completely with zero blind spot, even in balconies and outside the main door.
2. Future proof. With wifi 6 and option to add satellites later, you dont to buy any other router as long as this works fine. When moving to a bigger house, simply buy an extra satellite.
3. Single wifi name for entire house. No separate 5ghz and 2.4ghz wifi or a separate extender wifi name. You get one wifi that works across the house. Devices connect automatically to 2.4/5ghz based on their compatibility. You can be on a video call and can roam across the entire house, your phone will automatically connect to the nearest satellite without breaking connection.
4. Works great with IoT devices like vaccuum robot, alexa etc especially if you move them around the house.
5. Same speed across the whole house. No drop in wifi signal based on your connectivity. Using this with Act Internet in Bangalore.
Cons:
1. Expensive. Spending 18k on a wifi system for home doesn’t make sense. You can probably get the same thing with 2 cheap routers if you can live with separate wifi names.
2. Extra satellites are costly if you buy them later.
Amazing performance and wifi reliability
Used to replace my Google WiFi kit as I needed additional functionality and controls that where not supported by Google. Simple to set up including Dyn DNS and VPN. Rock solid wifi through out the house with no black spots, I now have wifi at the bottom on the garden!
