Lovely but already completed in one fell swoop and now disinterested. Definitely buy before reception year. They learn too quickly nowadays and the game is obsolete by 5!!!!

Haven’t used it yet so don’t know for definite! Bought for my friend’s daughter’s 2nd birthday so hopefully she likes it! Box was fairly big and heavy so seems like you get a lot for you money!

These were bought as party gifts. They are lovely games that 3/4/5 year olds enjoy. Easy to play and relatively short so perfect for a ‘quick’ game we also use the letter tiles for letter recognitio

Useful resource for little learners
An excellent resources for little ones learning new words and letters with an easy level and a hard level. Plus you can use the rules on their own to spell other words.

Brilliant, fun & hardwearing.
We got these my son who has ASD and development delay and is recently struggling with reading and writing. He loves them and can just play with the letters until he feels comfortable then makes his own words up but practice makes perfect. The words written on the back so he does cheat a little ( I think we all did that in our old schoolbooks).
Even if there is no educational needs for your little one these are brilliant just for building up their confidence and doing it at their own time and yours.

It’s a basic but so brilliant! 3.5 year old grasped it on her own and flipped the other side to try and memorize the spelling of the word.

Great for those beginning to read and spell. My 4year old son was able to spell most of the words straight out of the box on the non visible side so not challenging for those who are able readers/spellers (has been reading since he was two). Only has a few words to practice with but letters can be used to encourage your child to spell other words. Only if there was a pouch included to store letters when not used as once removed from the card can be easily lost.

Help to match good for small hands & play with family
I bought this game for our 5 year old grandsons, who absolutely love playing with the alphabet lotto game, of this series. I think I may have over-faced them with this one by putting all the cards and letters on the table at once. Next time, I would just put half of the game out with the relevant letters.
Great game, but not 'family games night' fun as other Orchard Toys games are.
We love any and all Orchard Toys games. My children never fail to be entertained by them, not really realising they’re educational.
Most of Orchard Toys games are great for us for family games nights, however this one is slightly less ‘gamey’. I tend to play this with my little ones during the day time, as more of an educational tool, than for fun family games night.

My 4 year old loves this. We haven’t actually played this as a game yet as he take it off by himself and enjoys putting the matching letters on the boards. It helps build confidence in recognising letters and learning to sound them out and blend words phonetically. Great buy. Recommend.
Ace Present for a 4 year old
Great learning toy for a 4 year old’s birthday present; we really love the Orchard learning toys, and this one is no different. Makes the learning aspect fun; which, when dealing with a Fournado, can be a challenge! Only thing is, he wants to win all the time – when can they bring out a game which works on accepting disappointment for kiddos???

Good phonics game
Great game. Good phonics practice. A bit tricky to keep organised once open as lots of little letters so can be overwhelming for little one to choose from so many. Trying to organise into bags or something to have an easier system for playing/ tidying up.

My 4-year old loves to do these. The quality is superb and kids love to play with them. It’s fun and informative at the same time. Especially the tricky ones with sounds like sh and ch. This is definitely a better way to teach them to pronounce. Highly recommended.

Not about what I liked – my neighbour’s three year old loved it, played with it the whole time they were here after he opened it. Relatively modest material ( pretty stiff thick cardboard) matched by excellent value for money.

You get a lot of supplied words to spell either by looking and matching the letter , or looking at the symbol and try to match the letters.
My son has loads of fun with this game and it is nice to see him sit and enjoy something that is educational and fun to play.

Excellent, entertaining and educational.
Good quality as with all Orchard games. What I particularly like is that one side of the card has the word clearly written, and the other side has blank spaces for the letters. This allows the child to develop from just laying the relevant letter on top of the word to later spelling the word on their own. Or maybe allowing the child to have a peek at how the word is spelt before attempting on the blank side.

I purchased this product for my 4 year old. My 4 year old has solid foundations and is currently reading oxford reading tree level 3 however i felt this was a great proficiency tool and visual aid. The product itself is very durable and high quality each boArd is double sided, were you have the word on the front for children to use there visual discrimination skills to find the corresponding letter, on the back you have blank spaces for the child to try and spell the word a picture is included also.I would definitely recommend. The product comes with a helpful instruction manual included within is website links to make your own words to match and spell free templates you can download aswell as colouring sheets, recipes etc all free downloadables. we love this produc

Good Match and spell and doubles up for phonetics practise
We love this, hours of fun finding the letters for the words on the board. My 4 year old loves it, we also sound out the words using phonetics. Good learning tool.
