I use the door for my 2 large dogs. My 3 yr old is constantly going in and out.
So took awhile to get round to installing for various reasons. First off the door actually look pretty good, Narrow so does take up space and matches with a sliding door. A few things to beware:
1. the top and bottom half didn’t fit neatly together making it tough to screw together. 1 cross bar not flush with sides. Eventually I got it to fit with a slight gap.
2 Instructions are limited so you have to read between the lines. At this price cleared Ikea style instruction would be better
3. Door is narrower than the sliding door so may shim it either side to hold it in place.
4. Door catch requires drilling and fitting 2nd catch something we will not do on our new sliding door for warranty reasons and the idea of sticking the catch on doesn’t seem to make any practical sense
5. The cat flap seems slightly too long so the cat can push it out but not get back in. So we’ve removed the magnet and trimmed the door on the sides.
So overall it should do the job but some real annoying quality and design issues. Hope the review helps anyone buying or installing
My dogs learned how to use this quickly. I got the large and it is perfect for my 55lb. German Shepherd and 40lb. Blue heeler. The size is suitable for them and they use it to go outside on their own when I’m asleep. That alone made it worth the purchase. The product was relatively easy to put together and even easier to install since it has a retractable spring mechanism to pop it easily in the door frame. I highly recommend this product.

A voir cet hiver avec le froid si c’est suffisamment hermtique, mais l’air passe vraiment trs peu car le rabat est aimant. Bravo aux concepteurs
Nice to have the dog go in and out especially for bathroom breaks. Our puppy found it easy to come in and out.
It is so easy to install and I can remove it easily when needed. Also it is well insulated to keep house temperature even.
Needed a few more brackets on which I purchased from local Diy store to make in sturdy.
Mine was in use on a secondary access as in door into house after conservatory.
Don’t know if I would use it as a main door as could be kicked through quiet easy

We moved into a property with old style patio doors, we needed to figure out how the cats could access the conservatory (via the patio) and I happened upon this, wow! This is a temporary fix until we can get the patio doors replaced but until then, this is an awesome solution for us. This is one of those products that I’ve come across in my life as a cat owner that has me astounded at the ingenuity the other being rigid pvc vertical blinds.
The top is spring loaded, so it makes it easy to remove the door, as it’s only temporary during the hours I’m working from home.
I bought some extra weather stripping, because the roll they provided was too thin to fill in the voids, where my sliding door is warped. I improvised the black seal strip and used it for covering the outside gap (panel to door), to help ward off insects and weather. Because the panel is temporary, I made sure to put a separate seal strip on the spring loaded section and had it over lap without sticky side on lower half. So when I go to take it out for the night, I’m not damaging the seal.
I didn’t use the lock or t-brackets included since the panel is only temporary.

I replaced my old pet door so I could fit it to my new patio slider. It looks great and my pets like it. I would highly recomend it.
I had 5 dogs at my home running in and out. The door works great, locks and held up great for 2- 120 lbs dogs, and three 80 pound dogs running in and out all day long.
Easy to understand directions. Comes with it’s own weather strip. 2 cats have done well getting used to it, and one of them is 18!
Well this was a have to have thing after a rescue. It’s so well constructed it showed us how out of square our slider is.
I am so excited to find this sliding glass doggy door insert. It was so easy to instal and adjustable to fit my very unique sliding glass door. My dogs are very happy to have the freedom to come and go. Well at least one of them is.

Not as ‘universal’ to install as they state, but works well if you’re handy. Looks great and our dog had no issue getting used to this.
This is a great pet door, it works very well. The only issue is the magnetic strip isn’t very strong so it opens quite easily by gusts of wind, which can let water in when its raining. So I wish that it could be a little stronger. But this tiny issue would allow for smaller pets to go though it easier. Another thing that is great about it is how quiet it actually is. We used to have another doggie door in the past and it used to be annoyingly loud. But this one is very silent and sometimes you can’t even hear your pet walk though the door when your in the same room.
This door worked great for me. My family and I were away from home for 2 weeks and we didn’t want Kitty to be confined to the the house for such a long period of time. She spends half of her days/nights outside. I wanted her to be able to go in and out while we were gone. My sliding doors are 8 feet high so this insert was about 16 inches short. I made some modifications to make it fit and fill the space. I did not want it permanently installed so I figured out how to make it a temporary door for use when we leave town. I put it in when we leave and then take it out when we get back. At first Kitty didn’t seem to like using the door. She prefers somebody open the door for her to let her in and out. But now I think she misses it. Gave her so much freedom and independence as she didn’t need help from us humans anymore to go in and out. ha ha. It’s stored in the closet now, but I’ll put it in again next time we go away for more than a few days.

I love this door! Put 2 door pieces together and slid in door frame. Works on both the vinyl sliding door AND the screen door! Easily moved in between doors or out completely. Not using locking feature just a stick in sliding door track. Did, however, have to buy additional foam insulation.
I was able to adapt product to a tri panel sliding door. Large dogs, like golden retriever, need to duck down to get through. Need extra large size. Product is better than i expected.

Very easy to install. I didn’t do a permanent install with the screws as I was going to pull it for the winter and vacations and such. There’s a small gap because it’s not exactly square. It’s made from aluminum and isn’t the most durable thing in the world. I had to use some painter’s tape to cover up a couple of gapes between the frame and the door that let air and small bugs in.
Size wise, my Standard Poodle can squeeze through without damage and our small cat didn’t have a problem either.
This door has been a lifesaver. Seals pretty good so doesn’t let cold air in. We did have to add a reinforcement board because our Dogs kept blasting through it and it was a little loose. It does make the opening to your sliding glass door smaller, so if you are a larger person, you may not be able to fit through!

Had a dog door before we moved and thought we could do without here…No way!! This new door is sturdier and our lives are much improved not having to be constantly opening and closing the slider. It also leaves the hot air in as well.
This fits great in the sliding glass doorway, is slightly adjustable to the height of the doorway. Easy to put in and take out. Easy to assemble. the dogs love it. It freed us up a ton. We have 2 big labs and a small dog and we worried about our 70 pound lab fitting through it, but he has no problems at all.
This dog door is perfect for me and my little dog, however I do live in an upstairs apartment, if I were downstairs I would not use this as it would result in a serious safety issue. It does come with a locking mechanism but still would not provide an actual locked door.
I am so happy with this pet door solution and so are my fur babies. We rent and this allows us the convenience of a pet door with no cutting required.
It is very sturdy. My only complaint is the size. I have a German shepherd and blood hound they get in but is tight fit. I did purchase the extra large

This pet door easily snaps in and out of sliding glass doors. Although I saw comments saying that it was made to stay put, we have no problem popping it out and storing it when we are away from home and want to keep the sliders locked. Good product, good price.
No effort and perfect for both my cat and dog…size medium.
We have had this dog door for our miniature schnauzer for about a year. It took her about a week to get used to going in and out of it. After that she loves to be able to go outside on her own. She does not even want to be walked any more. She likes to use the door to go outside and bask in the sun or cool off if she is hot. We bought the medium sized dog door. The price is a little to expensive. We used a plastic pipe and cut about a third of it off long ways so that the sliding door will not remain open. The dog door comes with a door lock but in requires drilling etc which may allow bugs to enter your house.
I loved the idea, but unfortunately as this arrived my cat went on the lamb and disappeared – so I had to return. It was not out of the package, so I cannot speak on the above. I did find it costly tho’.

This invention saved me from having to come home and let the puppy during the day. I bolted the crate to the door frame and she can come in and out all day while keeping my house secure. Well worth the purchase.
-I wish they had used see through pet door panel instead of frosted. The doggies look through the glass beside the flap. I have to keep reminding the dog where the opening is.

Some possible drawbacks to consider: 1) lack of insulation between cat door and sliding glass door may be a concern in the winter. I’m considering putting some weather stripping to make sure it doesn’t leak. 2) security: If you live in an area where there are frequent break-ins, this door is not for you, since it is easily removable. 3) space: the amount of space I have to get laundry baskets and other larger items out the sliding glass door is considerably smaller with the cat door installed. There’s definitely enough room for any normal or larger sized person to get out, but it is smaller. While I consider the trade off to be worth it, you may feel otherwise.
This is a lifesaver. I’m thankfully no longer a doorman for my dog. It was easy to put together and fit and the quality is very good!

Great product. A little hard to install, as my patio door is older. The first one came defective, but they sent out a new one within days at no charge. Great customer service!
This is sturdy enough but I was disappointed that I could not secure it to my sliding door. The slider is not flush with the pet door so the locks didn’t work. The flap is stronger than other doors I’ve seen.
This was a great alternative to a traditional built in dog doors when you only have a sliding door. We moved and our dogs had no transitioning in figuring it out how to get in and outside. I hope I’m as happy with this item when winter comes.
I bought this as a stopgap to let my cat out through a sliding door until I can get the doors replaced. As an interim measure it works well – it wasn’t made for double glazing. It was easy to adapt with a little ingenuity. I am satisfied with the product but wish someone would make one for double glazing.
I have installed about ten pet doors over the years. This was my first installation in a sliding glass door and it was the easiest install I have encountered. The door flap is replaceable with the part number embedded right in the flap which is great. My 80 lb chocolate lab goes through the large size door easily. I’m happy with the door. I needed to remove the latch hardware from the door jamb of my existing door and it would help if the instructions mentioned you need to remove any existing hardware off of the jamb which the pet door will be installed against. It does not seal as strongly as I would like, wish the magnets were stronger as it blows open in a stiff breeze.

It was about 1/2 inch to big for my door, so I took off the top spring panel and it’s perfect now. I did email PetSafe and asked for ideas on how to make it work, and never got a reply, but that’s ok, I figured it out.
I have thrown away the carton. If I pack it up securely, can I return it? Please as I have no want to get another dog again.

The door was easy to install but the large dog size is a little small. It is tall, but not real wide and one of my dogs sides rub against it when he goes through it.
We purchased this door as we wanted to use it in our vacation home but remove it when we left. The door works perfectly. We did not install the screws so we just slide it in and then remove it when we leave.

Love it – had to have professional install it – but my dog cant live without it. NOTE — cant use screen door with it – it blocks the opening of the dog door…so we use it but there is a gap.
It works great. When we received it the removable door was cracked and one of the panels was dented in. No damage to outside of box except one edge.

Great solution to having only a sliding glass door to use as a doggie door. Initial installation was really easy. Securing the pet door to the frame so that you can lock the door is a little more tricky. Otherwise, very happy with purchase!
My only concern is that we may never be able to change our mind about this installation since we had to put screws into the sliding door frame.
But that said, it’s a great help and our 2 huge dogs (85# built like a brick pitbull, and lanky 85# labrador) both fit through no problems.
Very effective, but rather hard to install. Also, the adhesive for the weatherstripping is inadequate.
Got the door,unpacked it. Was impressed at how well it’s built,and looks. Fairly good instruction book. However,I nevered installed it. My bad I guess you might say. I did not know the difference in dominations of Aluminum and Vinyl doors. Their bad,they don’t say if it’s for what instillation the doors for. Had to pack it up and send it back. The reason for 4 Stars. However,had it turned out differently,most likely a 5 Star rating. It was very nice.
This pet access door looks great, fits well and my pets love it. My dog used to get out of the yard when I left him for a few days even with a pet sitter coming by. He didn’t try to run away during my last vacation because he could come in and out! Solved a huge dilemma for me.
I have had the door installed for 4 years now and we can no longer live without it. It’s still as sturdy as ever (even with my Jack Russell running through it full speed). Dogs love it, cat loves it, humans love it. Raccoon peaked in once but thankfully decided he didn’t love it.
I would suggest the next size doggy door opening…our dog has no trouble but out guest’s dogs do.
Only suggestion I would make is to have an adjustable top panel with a
knob to adjust as some other doors have. It would make it easier to move
to different doors. This one is secured with screws which you need to drill
a hole for in the top panel. If you want to move the door to another location,
you have to remove the screws. On the up side it is probably more secure.
Took awhile for our kitty to get used to the door but after a month he comes
and goes like he owns the place (which, it turns out, he does, lol).
Good product for renters if you live in a good neighborhood

I would recommend buying an extra strip that blocks air from the new gap between the windows and install the extra one on the outside. I had a very small draft at the edges with only the one but the second strip fixed that.
Great door, made well. Our dogs got used to going in and out almost immediately. We have one younger dog and one senior dog. We were concerned if the senior dog would take to it, however, she followed the younger one out and back in and got it in no time. A couple of suggestions I would recommend watching the video. However, to avoid what we went through in placing door on track make sure, if you have a lip on the outside of your door frame, then follow those specific alternate instructions in the manual. It was a bit of a challenge getting the door on the track for us because of the 1 inch outer lip we had on our sliders.
