This is a great pet door, it works very well. The only issue is the magnetic strip isn't very strong so it opens quite easily by gusts of wind, which can let water in when its raining. So I wish that it could be a little stronger. But this tiny issue would allow for smaller pets to go though it easier. Another thing that is great about it is how quiet it actually is. We used to have another doggie door in the past and it used to be annoyingly loud. But this one is very silent and sometimes you can't even hear your pet walk though the door when your in the same room.

All I had to do was insert the panel. I secured it with Velcro and used additional weather stripping. My pit bull loves it and it's my life goal to make her happy. I used Velcro instead of screws because I want this to be less permanent and easy for me to pop in and out. It looks secure. Wish I did this months ago! Thanks for a great product!

My two cats live it. I did decide to take off the flap because one of my cats is old and she didn’t want to push through. There is a little door that you can put on at night or when you’re away. Very pleased with it.

I love this door! Put 2 door pieces together and slid in door frame. Works on both the vinyl sliding door AND the screen door! Easily moved in between doors or out completely. Not using locking feature just a stick in sliding door track. Did, however, have to buy additional foam insulation.

I was able to adapt product to a tri panel sliding door. Large dogs, like golden retriever, need to duck down to get through. Need extra large size. Product is better than i expected.

Easy install, dogs love it.
Very easy to install. I didn’t do a permanent install with the screws as I was going to pull it for the winter and vacations and such. There’s a small gap because it’s not exactly square. It’s made from aluminum and isn’t the most durable thing in the world. I had to use some painter’s tape to cover up a couple of gapes between the frame and the door that let air and small bugs in.
Size wise, my Standard Poodle can squeeze through without damage and our small cat didn’t have a problem either.
This door has been a lifesaver. Seals pretty good so doesn't let cold air in. We did have to add a reinforcement board because our Dogs kept blasting through it and it was a little loose. It does make the opening to your sliding glass door smaller, so if you are a larger person, you may not be able to fit through!

My dogs and cats have now their own living room at the basement. Some of them learned how to use it inmediately, others need more time. Though we live in Spain, it was so much cheaper Amazon from the UK that the Spanish Amazon. The door was too tall for our window but we had it cut, no problem about it. We are very happy and satisfied.

Only downside I didn’t measure the lip to the back door, I should say the unit fit perfectly but I couldn’t get it to fit over the backdoor lip. I had that to correct the my mistake of the door to fit, I am pleased, my dog is happy, my home is warm.

Had a dog door before we moved and thought we could do without here...No way!! This new door is sturdier and our lives are much improved not having to be constantly opening and closing the slider. It also leaves the hot air in as well.

This fits great in the sliding glass doorway, is slightly adjustable to the height of the doorway. Easy to put in and take out. Easy to assemble. the dogs love it. It freed us up a ton. We have 2 big labs and a small dog and we worried about our 70 pound lab fitting through it, but he has no problems at all.

This dog door is perfect for me and my little dog, however I do live in an upstairs apartment, if I were downstairs I would not use this as it would result in a serious safety issue. It does come with a locking mechanism but still would not provide an actual locked door.

It is very sturdy. My only complaint is the size. I have a German shepherd and blood hound they get in but is tight fit. I did purchase the extra large

Great product but when opened one small side connector for the two glass pieces was missing.. have to find some kind of replacement..would be great is Amazon or the vender would send.. photo included.

This pet door easily snaps in and out of sliding glass doors. Although I saw comments saying that it was made to stay put, we have no problem popping it out and storing it when we are away from home and want to keep the sliders locked. Good product, good price.

Perfect for letting my dogs get out of the house without opening the patio doors
This invention saved me from having to come home and let the puppy during the day. I bolted the crate to the door frame and she can come in and out all day while keeping my house secure. Well worth the purchase.

We purchased this door so our cat could go in and out when we were on vacation. We didn’t permanently install it, and it still works great–so well we are thinking of keeping it full-time. This is a great option if you are a renter and can’t make permanent changes to your home but want to make sure your cat can come and go as they please. The cat door matches with my existing sliding glass door and looks attractive when installed. Installation was easy and I can pop it out of the frame when I don’t want to use it. I highly recommend this door!
Some possible drawbacks to consider: 1) lack of insulation between cat door and sliding glass door may be a concern in the winter. I’m considering putting some weather stripping to make sure it doesn’t leak. 2) security: If you live in an area where there are frequent break-ins, this door is not for you, since it is easily removable. 3) space: the amount of space I have to get laundry baskets and other larger items out the sliding glass door is considerably smaller with the cat door installed. There’s definitely enough room for any normal or larger sized person to get out, but it is smaller. While I consider the trade off to be worth it, you may feel otherwise.

I really like the look of it. It looks like it belongs. The door opening is of course a little smaller now, but still wide enough. Ideal for my dog to be able to go out on the deck when I am not home.

This is sturdy enough but I was disappointed that I could not secure it to my sliding door. The slider is not flush with the pet door so the locks didn’t work. The flap is stronger than other doors I’ve seen.

This was a great alternative to a traditional built in dog doors when you only have a sliding door. We moved and our dogs had no transitioning in figuring it out how to get in and outside. I hope I’m as happy with this item when winter comes.

I bought this as a stopgap to let my cat out through a sliding door until I can get the doors replaced. As an interim measure it works well – it wasn’t made for double glazing. It was easy to adapt with a little ingenuity. I am satisfied with the product but wish someone would make one for double glazing.

The door took a couple hours to put in but I really took my time . There are so many different sliding patio doors so you need to proceed with the installation with that in mind. I needed to modify the installion slightly from the instructions to fit my particular door. They provided extra hardware to allow for different installations. As with any pet door you will be creating a significant security breach in to your home and you should be cognizant of that. There is also a major compromise in the weather tightness of your door.
I have installed about ten pet doors over the years. This was my first installation in a sliding glass door and it was the easiest install I have encountered. The door flap is replaceable with the part number embedded right in the flap which is great. My 80 lb chocolate lab goes through the large size door easily. I’m happy with the door. I needed to remove the latch hardware from the door jamb of my existing door and it would help if the instructions mentioned you need to remove any existing hardware off of the jamb which the pet door will be installed against. It does not seal as strongly as I would like, wish the magnets were stronger as it blows open in a stiff breeze.
Love this door for my two little girls! My Pekingese took to it right away but my little yorkie always made me open it for her. She didn’t understand how to use it. After MONTHS she one day figured it out! I was so proud of and no more being a doorman!

We upgraded our medium door after adopting our Lab. PetSafe products are amazing – can’t beat the quality. Super easy to install, easy for pet to use, looks great and blends in well with sliding door. Definitely recommend this or any PetSafe product!

It was about 1/2 inch to big for my door, so I took off the top spring panel and it's perfect now. I did email PetSafe and asked for ideas on how to make it work, and never got a reply, but that's ok, I figured it out.

We are very happy with this Pet Door. It was easy to install and it took our 6 mos. old Puppy about one week to fully get used to it and use it as he his supposed to. The price is also very reasonable. I had checked with Window Installers and most of them did not even respond to my request, and the ones that did, the price tag was $ 900 +, but that would have been a permanent door. . Also, the fact that it can be easily taken back out and moved is a big plus. Overall, I can highly recommend this door.

I ordered the pet door for a huge custom slider and it would not allow the slider to close up tight against the pet safe pet door. I called the company, they worked me through the troubleshooting and found out my slider was a custom type and would not work with any products. They advised me to contact Amazon, since I purchased through them for a return for credit. The PetSafe company was very easy to work with, the refund went through immediately. I'm sorry that my sliding door is not the average type as I would have loved to use their product. I have family that uses their product and loves it.

The actual piece that goes into the sliding glass door is great. My issue is with the accessories such as the weather stripping. Neither of the provided weather stripping pieces worked. They both fell off shortly after being put on. I do like the door part though which is why I still have it 4 stars.

Great solution to having only a sliding glass door to use as a doggie door. Initial installation was really easy. Securing the pet door to the frame so that you can lock the door is a little more tricky. Otherwise, very happy with purchase!

No more middle of the night potty trips...but watch that darn cat bringing in mice and things!
My only concern is that we may never be able to change our mind about this installation since we had to put screws into the sliding door frame.
But that said, it’s a great help and our 2 huge dogs (85# built like a brick pitbull, and lanky 85# labrador) both fit through no problems.

I did not know the difference in dominations of Aluminum and Vinyl doors. Their bad,they don't say if it's for what instillation the doors for. Had to pack it up and send it back. The reason for 4 Stars. However,had it turned out differently,most likely a 5 Star rating. It was very nice.

Installation wasn’t too bad, but it was more invasive than I expected. I thought this would be something I would take with me when I move, but since I put some holes in the door installing it, I’ll have to leave it behind. I will definitely buy another one when I move. The instruction could use some revision.
I was able to install the pet door by myself with the very helpful video of a woman installing one. It did require 2 extra rolls of weather seal tape, so be prepared for that. When I finished I looked at my 95 pound dog and thought there is no way she will fit through the door even though it is for large dogs up to 100 lobs. But with the temptation of treats, she was soon jumping right through! My only problem is it came with a small corner of the closing panel on the entrance door broken off. I could find no way to contact the seller to just replace that part. If someone can tell me how to do that, I would give the product 5 stars.
This pet access door looks great, fits well and my pets love it. My dog used to get out of the yard when I left him for a few days even with a pet sitter coming by. He didn't try to run away during my last vacation because he could come in and out! Solved a huge dilemma for me.

The first door I received was missing parts, I called the company and they rushed me a new one! They also told me to donate the one missing parts to a rescue or animal shelter and they could probably make the door work! Amazing company with great service AND it’s so nice having my dogs let themselves in and out! It is also great quality! I was worried about the new panel not sealing properly with my existing sliding door, making cold or hot hair come into the house. Turns out, that didn’t happen at all! I love it and would recommend this for anyone!
Our dogs have a new-found independence and I no longer have to listen to them ringing their person-slave door bell when they want to go out! It took a few days and lots of treats to convince my shy pups to use the door, but now they’re in & out all day long without assistance. The door is steady and relatively well insulated. We’ve had the door up for 6 months without a problem. Super happy with the purchase.
I have had the door installed for 4 years now and we can no longer live without it. It’s still as sturdy as ever (even with my Jack Russell running through it full speed). Dogs love it, cat loves it, humans love it. Raccoon peaked in once but thankfully decided he didn’t love it.
I would suggest the next size doggy door opening...our dog has no trouble but out guest's dogs do.

Door is very well made, was easy to put together and install. Looks great.
Only suggestion I would make is to have an adjustable top panel with a
knob to adjust as some other doors have. It would make it easier to move
to different doors. This one is secured with screws which you need to drill
a hole for in the top panel. If you want to move the door to another location,
you have to remove the screws. On the up side it is probably more secure.
Took awhile for our kitty to get used to the door but after a month he comes
and goes like he owns the place (which, it turns out, he does, lol).

An answer to prayers for us, cats, not so much. They don’t like going outside. Maybe when it is not over 95 degrees, they will. VERY easy to use, we modified it a bit to fit what we needed. We love not having kitty litter in our house. Cats go directly from home to the outside cattery through this door, where potty, food, and water are. I can see why they sell the plastic door replacements. Our big cat chewed the heck out of it the first day!
Pleasantly surprised. It’s a sturdy unit and easily installed with no permanent marks to the door or frame.
I would recommend buying an extra strip that blocks air from the new gap between the windows and install the extra one on the outside. I had a very small draft at the edges with only the one but the second strip fixed that.

We were concerned if the senior dog would take to it, however, she followed the younger one out and back in and got it in no time. A couple of suggestions I would recommend watching the video. However, to avoid what we went through in placing door on track make sure, if you have a lip on the outside of your door frame, then follow those specific alternate instructions in the manual. It was a bit of a challenge getting the door on the track for us because of the 1 inch outer lip we had on our sliders.

Easy to install, this did not require harming doorway and thus would be great for a renter as well as a home owner who didn’t want to drill holes. Also our chihuahua quickly learned to use it. Some cold air comes in, but I do not think any other would be better.
Easy install, and can be installed without screwing into patio door frame. Very important when you rent. One less star because had to buy more insulation nor enough with the door.
My 90+lb dog fits thru just fine. only took 1 day with treats to get dog to know how to use door.

I got this pet door yesterday and I saw all the parts and screws. The instructions showed what tools I would need so I put it away for another day. Then I went back to it that evening and I realized that you didn’t have to use all the parts and the screws but just the screws to attach the top section of the door to the bottom section of the door and then put it in place in the tracks of the sliding door. Close the door flush against the pet door and it was installed. Oreo, my dog, is still getting use to it by he is using it and I am quite satisfied. Very nice door and very sturdy. Worth every penny.
