About your Russell Hobbs microwave
Microwave ovens do not generate any heat themselves but instead cause water molecules in food to vibrate. This vibration produces heat that cooks the food. This is why your food will come out of the microwave piping hot, when your utensils inside the microwave stay much cooler.
Microwaves cannot go through metal, so the inside of the appliance is lined with metal. The door is lined with a fine metal mesh which stops microwaves getting through.
Cleaning:
Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool or other abrasives. Warm soapy water and a sponge should get rid of all moisture and food spillages.
How to get the best cooking results
Reheat
With five microwave power levels to choose from, you can ensure all your food is cooked or re-heated to the optimum temperature.
Auto-Defrost
This microwave has automatic defrost settings, all you have to do is input the weight of the food and the microwave selects the ideal defrost time.
Auto Cook Menus
The RHM2064 also features pre-programmed auto cook menus such as pizza, fish and popcorn, allowing you to cook all your favourite food at the push of a button.
Avoiding Mishaps
To avoid any microwave mishaps it is recommended to take extra care with the following:
Low moisture foods (eg. cereals, bagels, dried pasta, pulses and chocolate)
– These must be cooked on a low power level for a very short length of time, or preferably not at all.
High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups)
– These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven.
Foods containing alcohol
– Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite.
Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes)
– Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape.

Good, functional microwave
This microwave looks really nice and matches our other cream kitchen appliances. The mirrored front gets fingerprints on easily, but it’s not a big issue. There are a lot of functions I’ll never in all honesty use, but they may be useful to some people (e.g. weight/time defrost/cook, pre-sets, auto-cook by ingredient etc). I just press the 30 secs button the number of times I want something heated, and for that, it does the job brilliantly! If I had one quibble it’s the yellow light inside – I wish it were whiter, as it’s a bit odd. It’s also tricky to see inside when things are cooking, but I think most microwaves are. The red clock is quite bright and I wish it was perhaps a different colour (white or blue perhaps), but again, not a big deal.
CAUGHT FIRE!!!!!
Bought this item in 2021. Not even 3years old yet. Was using it to heat porridge for 2mins 30 secs and it BURST into flames!!
The circular ring with plastic wheel that the rotating plate sits on seems to have caught fire, melted itself AND MELTED THROUGH THE GLASS PLATE as per the photograph’s. Took hours for the smell to leave. Phoned RH. NO HELP “out of warranty. Take it up with your seller, Amazon”.
DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY REASONS. They (RH) had to do a product recall for similar reasons on their combo microwave/oven product a few years back so what does that say about the quality of their products and them only having a 1year guarantee? I registered this product the day I received it. What was the point? I WILL NEVER BUY RH AGAIN especially as the customer service was so bad. Not even an acknowledgment or apology for the stress and disruption this caused me!! DISGRACEFUL
we always have a spare one of these
use a microwave many times a day – last one just ‘died a death’ without warning – so now we will always have a spare – just in case of it happening again. & has same controls as current machine so no ‘learning’ required.
Purchased to replace the same model that i used for 6yrs or so, love it’s simplicity, only used for basic heating so never delved into other features. The digital timer works well, no fancy menu’s, all good. When a problem developed out of the blue the seller resolved it brilliantly, so highly recommend this seller.
Effective and efficie
Nice, sleek, compact design. Much faster and more efficient at heating and cooking through than any previous microwave I’ve used. Only concern is that the door opening button feels weak.
Value for money
Sleek and stylish looking, exactly what I was looking for . For the style and size of my kitchen fits in perfectly . Easy to use , haven’t used it for everything it do yet , but basic use absolutely perfect, cleans well. Only negative I can say about it if I’m being picky is the plate seems to clunk around a little when in use but it’s in place properly and won’t come off so absolutely fine , very good purchase overall and very happy.
Long Life
I decided to replace my microwave because it had some external scratches. I went on Amazon to find it
as I wanted the same brand and colour to match my slow cooker,toaster, kettle and bread bin . I found the microwave and it told me I last purchased it in 2012 so it was 12 years old and I used it a lot. So no contest it was still working after 10 Years .
Reliable
Our last microwave blew up when my daughter closed the door and put it on with nothing in it. We ordered this the day before Christmas Eve and it arrived the next day in time for Christmas. Amazon is amazing! This meecrowarvay has features to stop that happening again. It’s quick and reliable. Not too complicated. Just right!

Bought this to match the toaster & kettle, was a bit overwhelmed when it arrived I thought I’m not going to get the hang of this, but once I started using it it’s brilliant, love how you can defrost by weight or time. it looks great on the kitchen worktop, really pleased I kept trying it was worth it.
Excellent m/save matches toaster & kettle I had bought a couple years ago from Russel Hobbs. Easy to use turntable big enough for a dinner plate has a 30 second button very useful. The front is a mirror which I like (also 1 of my cats)
Paid a bit more for the red which turns out to be a glorious rich metallic colour, very similar to the Fender guitar candy apple red. Mirror finish on door is great, especially as it’s easy to avoid fingerprints by using the top frame of the door to close it. Simple to use, no fancy bells and whistles which is what I wanted. I like the white interior and the yellow light is cosy. My large dinner plates fit snugly as expected but I forgot to check the height of the interior, which requires a bit of care when placing a tall jug inside. Overall it looks smart and classy and I like that there are no vents on the top spoiling the sleek design. Just hope it turns out to have a reliable long life.
Smart looking microwave
Does the job for us as a couple however the clock on these runs a few mins faster.
After a month’s use the clock was 4min ahead of time. I know someone who has the same microwave with the same issue.
Not major but inconvenient when running late for work.

Has the same one for 5 years it’s a replacement as the previous one stopped working but it was used every day so I felt we’d had our moneys worth great microwave would definitely recommend
Small and nea
Looks lovely in my new fitted kitchen. Is small but takes a regular dinner plate. Does not take the bigger plates eg square plates. Takes a little getting used to how it works but overall very pleased.
The microwave internally is smaller than I would have thought given the outer dimensions. An 11inch dinner plate is a tight fit and has to be turned on its side slightly in order to place it inside. Not vey practical if the plate is fully loaded!!
The handbook that came with the microwave was extremely confusing, and I resorted to a trial and error method in order to use the microwave!!! The technical department needs to address this issue.
I have kept the microwave simply because of its cosmetic appearance which is pleasing and I was restricted to choice because I needed an oven in a cream colour.
I hope this review will help future purchasers.
Ideal for a small kitche
I was looking for a replacement microwave ,and this one was just what I needed in my small kitchen. It works efficiently and does all I require, while not taking up a lot of space. It works so well my neighbour saw mine and got one too. We’re both delighted.
Only small
Customer service certainly isn’t what it used to be with Amazon. The box looked like it had been kicked around the warehouse. I have had most boxes delivered crushed or opened latley, customer service has totally lost my confidence and in future when buying anything I will shop elsewhere. The microwave is a smaller than the ones I usually buy but all seems to work OK.
Works well but clock runs fas
I’ve had it for over a year and the microwave works well, and hasn’t rusted, but the clock runs fast. There doesn’t seem to be any way to adjust the clock speed and I’m not willing to take the microwave apart to look further. I assume it’s a power supply issue – perhaps it was originally designed for a 110v system. Apart from that it’s fine. Looks nice, controls aren’t particularly intuitive but at the end of the day if you can put food inside and hit start, you don’t need much else.

This was bought for my elderly father as his old one had broken after many years. He adapted to this one straight away and so it was a great buy. The only downfall I have is that you can not see through the door while your food is cooking as it has a mirror finish to the window area. This has been a bit of an issue when dad was cooking scrambled egg or warming milk as you can’t see the item rising so can cause a spillage.
Annoying red display light!
Colour is good but the display light is really bright and very red. Not ideal- we’re trying to think how to cover it as it stands out in the kitchen. Interior light is a strange yellow, but that’s less important. Just weird. Otherwise seems fine.
Octagenerian Friendly!
Bought for my MIL when her 32yo microwave died. Easy to use, just big enough for Microwaveable dinners and small dinner plates. Ideal for the 89yo MIL. It does have 3 power settings. If it were me I would just have one and make it even simpler. A great buy.

Pleased with this microwave even though I haven’t yet quite worked out how some elements of it work…but that is down to me rather than the quality of the microwave. It’s been great so far.

Great microwave, you need to wipe it out every time you use it though with some kitchen roll or something as there is always a bit of water on the glass thing from steam residue
Very good microwave
I don’t use a micro wave for any complicated cooking, mostly ready meals and heating stuff. This microwave has been great for anything I’ve needed so far. The only issue I have had is some of the ready meals I’ve heated have been a bit large for the rotating plate, and have got stuck when turning round. But this is more down to me in not checking the dimensions rather than any failing in this micro wave.

we originally had this model 5 years ago but recently replaced it with a swan grey model in 6 months we had 3 faulty grey swan we gave up and went back to the original red Russell hobs !!!! which served for a further 3 months making its life span just over 5 years so when it died we replaced it with the same

It’s an easy to use microwave – the functions are straight forward. Not too noisy. Easy to wipe clean and the colour looks great.

Mirrored door!
Only thing to be aware of is that the door is mirrored which doesn’t show on the photos. Therefore cleaning messy fingernails is a pain! Apart from that little niggle the microwave is grea

Item arrived on time and was easy to install. The one issue I have and it is big issue for me is not being able to see inside at all when the door is shut. If I had know this before I purchased this particular model I would have purchased a different one because I find this extremely annoying.

Good little unit. Plenty of internal space, even a wide dinner plate.
To cook by time you have to dial left then right for time increments. You get used to it.
Door very firm shut and hard not to make a noise. A handle on the outside of the door to slow close, would be a plus.

I bought this for my elderly mum to use, as her old microwave was broken. At first she found it diffiuclt to use because it was different to her previous one which had more automatic functions. That said, she now uses it regularly to cook baked potatoes, morning porridge and other things and actually, she only uses it for the most basic tasks so gets on with it quite well. The detailed instructions have been very useful. So we have gone from ‘Oh its too complicated’ to ‘yes, I use it every day’. It looks great in her kitchen, too!

Only adverse comment, when you set the timer, it starts from 75 mins. and reduces to seconds. As it is used for 30 secs. to 5 mins. most of the time, annoying to set! Otherwise, OK and recommend.

Bought this as it is Which magazine recommended microwave. Very easy to use. Easy to clean. When using defrost you still have to watch thinner edges of chicken. Does great baked potatoes. Full instructions clear and easy to follow. Colour exactly as shown (matches my kettle and toaster.

Nice to find a microwave that isn’t black, very easy to use but I can only give it 4 stars because it only just takes a normal size dinner plate. The edge of the turntable is very close to the door so no chance of using large plates.

My old Russell Hobbs which I had for sometime had to be discarded as somehow the inside lining was damaged in one place.The new machine has some added features but as I hate having to learn new ways of doing basic things I am delighted that the new one is the same as the old one .I stopped using the old machine when I found the damage and it took about 5 days for the new one to arrive which was very good given that it takes a ferry to get here! During those days I felt lost! I am so used to having instant eggs ,instant hot soup, jacket potatoes etc.

We love this little microwave. We don’t use it for much other than heating up food or that cup of tea that went cold, but for us it’s perfect . Small and compact.

Lovely colour. Nice interior. I deliberately downgraded to a smaller microwave from a combi. This take up little space and does a good microwave job. However, the door mechanism sometimes sounds wrong. Also occasionally the button push for the door stays in and springs out late. I’m on watch and wait.

A great little microwave for not a lot of money
Lovely colour, easy to use and reasonably powerful. Overall, I think it was well worth the money and would recommend.

I had to order this online, which is something I hate, as I like to be able too test things out before hand, but due to Covid this couldn’t happen. I’m so please with the microwave it’s very sturdy, easy to use and takes a full size dinner plate. It’s not large but very deep. I would recommend
