About the RHM2574
Cooking meals for family and friends or reheating large plates of food becomes simple and easy with 900 watts of microwave power and 10 auto cook menus.
The RHM2574 combination microwave has a 31.5cm wide removable glass turntable and a stainless steel interior for easy cleaning. It also has weight and time defrost settings, a child safety lock and a simple, functional control panel; including clock and digital timer.
It comes complete with a grill rack.
Multi-functional Cooking
The combination aspect enables you to combine microwave energy, a grill, and convection heating (fan assisted) so you can heat, roast, crisp and brown.
This makes the microwave ideal for cooking lasagnes, pizzas, baked potatoes and cottage pies.
The true fan assisted oven acts exactly the same as a conventional oven, which gives you the option of an extra cooking facility for large dinner parties and family gatherings.
Avoiding Mishaps
To avoid any microwave mishaps it is recommended to take extra care with the following:
Low moisture foods (eg. cereals, bagels, dried pasta, pulses and chocolate)
– These must be cooked on a low power level for a very short length of time, or preferably not at all.
High sugar content foods (eg. jams, syrups)
– These foods can become easily ‘super-heated’ when cooked in a microwave oven.
Foods containing alcohol
– Foods with an alcohol content must not be cooked in a microwave as they could ignite.
Foods with a membrane or outer skin (eg. fruits, sausages, potatoes)
– Food with a sealed or none porous skin must be pierced to allow pressure and steam to escape

Excellent machine
This works well, the convection oven heats hotter than my old one.
The only criticism I have is that the amount of pressure you need to open the door pushes the whole oven back, this was got around by putting a rubber mat between the oven and the work surface.
Top Microwave
This is a really great model microwave our 2nd time we have bought this after we accidentally wrecked our first one!! Bought different types before but this model outshines all the others

Great Value
Only had a few weeks, very impressed so far. Easy to use. Looks more expensive than price tag, but I see the greatest savings using the convection oven which preheats in a third of the time of my main oven. Tempeture output better than my last combi. Microwave function good also. Have not used grill.

I have used both the microwave and convection and it works perfectly. It takes some adjusting as any new oven will! But cooked my pizza perfectly and looks nice. Really happy for the price too.

Functional.combi.
Easy to use ,once you master the controls and buttons.Use it for basic microwave tasks and conventional oven mainly.
Easy to clean ,no problems so far.
Great microwave
Was a bit surprised when it came, it is huge. I live alone but am keeping it. Lots of functions, the instruction booklet is very easy to read and understand. Very easy to clean. Looks good in The kitchen.

Unfortunately I needed a new microwave urgently after my previous and very expensive microwave which I’d had for just four years developed a fault that made it impractical to repair economically so after searching for a suitable replacement model I ended up choosing this one and I’ve been more than delighted with it.
As a microwave it’s nothing spectacular and most decent microwaves will do the same job but, as a combination oven, now that’s quite a different story.
My previous combination oven was pretty useless when it came to being used as a convection oven but this one is great and with a little adjustment to times and temperature I can trust it to produce results that I’d normally expect of foods cooked in a full sized oven.
I love Yorkshire Puddings and would normally use our regular oven for making them, so as an experiment when I first got it I made six using the same mixture ( muffin tin sized) in our regular oven and at the same time six in a muffin tin in the Russel Hobbs and there was no difference, both sets were perfect, in fact my other half said she preferred those from the new microwave.
In our fan oven, I can get perfect Yorkshires at about 190 degrees after about 20 minutes. With the Russel Hobbs, I simply set it at 210 deg and allow perhaps a further 4 minutes longer than normal and they’re perfect.
If I’m making Yorkshires these days, my first weapon of choice is undoubtedly the microwave. It’s very useful when cooking full dinners as opening and closing to check other foods isn’t good when cooking Yorkshires.
I also make oven-dumplings to go with mince and I experimented last week and made my oven-dumplings in the microwave, they too came out perfect.
I’ve cooked chicken portions in there from scratch, in fact other than size restriction, I can safely cook anything that I’d normally cook in our full sized oven.
As a microwave, initially it probably isn’t the most intuitive microwave I’ve ever used but a quick glance at the instructions will very soon resolve any confusion.
I really can’t fault it as a combination microwave oven and is streets ahead of our previous combination oven which cost nearly double.
It’s quite big but just what you’d expect from a family sized microwave so make sure you have the room for it.

One thing to mention was that I didn’t receive an oven tray as some advertising suggests but we kept the substantial tray from the old microwave so it wasn’t worth the effort chasing it up. The rack that comes with this oven however, is very useful.

Works well, easy-ish to programme, bleep keeps going for 5 bleeps even if you open the door.

My only minor niggles with this so far (a month in to ownership) has been that having the element on the ceiling of the box, that bit is difficult to clean; but it’s still stainless steel – so much nicer than some.
The other interesting point is that the internal light doesn’t shut off if the door has been left open (to allow steam to escape after cooking) unlike our previous microwave. That’s more of a problem in that the bulb appears to consume a massive 40W rather than the 3W LED I’d expect to see in here.

Replaced it with my old identical one that was 12 years old . Could not fault the old one so here’s hoping this one lasts as long !
This is a great microwave. Easy to use, easy to clean and excellent value for money. The quality is excellent. It looks really good too. Stainless steel inside and outside. This was exactly what we were looking for. Very large capacity inside. Can’t rate this high enough. But I prefer the manual duel convection and micro settings, it does large apple pie in 22 mins v 45 mins in normal ovens. Grill looks sturdy and covers a larger area than my old one. The rotating glass plate is very near to the inner walls, so needs removal to mop up any excess moisture. And instead of one ping at the end of a cycle you have five (annoying). The wire stand for grilling and baking is useless luckily still have my old ones, and the free round baking try isn’t supplied anymore. But it does look impressive with the mirror effect door.

I really like this, does get some condensation during cooking, but is a great microwave. I have it a couple of months now and super pleased with all the uses. I was concerned about cleaning the mirror front, but i use white vinegar and its fine.

Great Microwave
Very pleased with this microwave, even managed to cook Xmas dinner with it after my oven failed 7 days before. On the large size ,so worth checking measurements before purchasing. Overall great microwave.
This combo oven is a compact size and good on the eye. The microwave is as good as any other we have had, the grill and regular oven make it a great facility. There are only 2 of us in the house and using the oven and grill are great features for us. No need to heat up a big oven or grill, this does the job great and real quick. If you only cook for yourself or 1 other, you would not need a big grill and oven. We will never have just a microven again. This is a great machine. It is as easy to clean as any other we have had.

Combination Microwave.
Used for the purpose it was bought for. Grill is a big disappointment,
not only for its ‘strength’ but also for the cleaning or non cleaning would
be more appropriate. Its about time this feature was improved not only
by R/H but all manufacturers.

Reasonable price, several options. Instructions very basic, so need to play around with it a lot. Looks good. One issue is it has a lot of condensation inside after every use, so need to wipe it down, not sure if it will cause damage over time.

Fragile turntable
Good looking, pretty easy to use and clean, grill and convection oven not very powerful, glass turntable chipped very easily when knocking it slightly when putting a plate on to it, surely this should be toughened glass?

Great looking stainless steel with a mirror finish. We bought fir a holiday home so always trying to get cake and eat it. Thought we would go for an inexpensive convection and grill combo to replace the broken microwave. This is great. Very deep so more space than we had previously. Have used the oven function and it is really efficient and effective. As some users have said the mirror finish which gives a nice effect does affect the view of cooking. Apart from that so far very pleased.

It is easy to use when you get the hang of it! A very sturdy microwave combined oven and grill.
I really like this as it is powerful and controllable and looks good except as others have commented the red LED display. It just looks so old fashioned and a little alarming like a warning sign.
Other than that I have not regretted purchasing this vital kitchen item.

Paint peeling off
This is now my third Russell Hobbs microwave, the previous two being the exact models and the paint on the inside of the door all bubbled up and peeled off. Hopefully this one won’t be the same. Apart from that fault they have performed very well and were still fully functional when I binned them.

Impressive but Missing Baking Tin as Advertised
I bought this during lockdown as my old combination finally gave up the ghost, and could not get out to look or buy, so trawling thru Amazon spotted this one, quick delivery fairly easy to use and I am use to using a combi but could have had a better recipe book just a couple of sheets really, and also said on the Amazon site it comes with a baking tin and grill rack, grill rack was enclosed but not baking tin, and as with all mirror finish they are a job to keep fingerprint free but on the whole, it works a treat but any problems I will rewrite another review.

A quick online chat produced a “returnless refund”. Two hours later, I sat down to order another one – to discover that Amazon only allopws you to order one of these every seven days!!! On Saturday 30th May, Appliances Direct delivered this actual microwave, at the same price.

Our Russell Hobbs microwave gave up the ghost on a Saturday during the lockdown. I ordered exactly the same model on Saturday & it was delivered on Tuesday. Excellent service.
I bought this to use on my boat. It looks great, and expensive, and its the perfect size for using as an oven for a couple. Its not too big though. I have mostly used the convection oven, and the only thing I would do is echo those who have said that it loses heat quickly after you preheat, but you can prepare the rack with your food beforehand and have it ready to put in as soon as the oven is ready, and then it’s great.

Good oven and the convection oven works really well and not expensive to run about 6p an hour so my smart meter says but had other stuff on as well

Really very impressed with this. Very easy to use and so easy to clean. My only complaint is the door release is a little stiff and requires quite a lot of pressure to open.
I bought this to replace my Sanyo one as it’s virtually identical, same buttons etc but I had to return it as it does not have a stainless steel finish as described but it’s more grey metallic. That would not be a problem unless like me all other appliances are stainless steel and it doesn’t match. I never even tried this model so my usage ratings are based on the Sanyo version.

Its a large microwave
Mum was very pleased with this. Please note this is a big microwave so grate to put pirate dishes in etc
great combi oven, bit larger than i thought, but so easy to use, and already been used to make cakes and toasties, as well as the micro for warming meals, could not be happier with this purchase, and also just so easy to clean with the stainless steel interior.
Once you get use to the simple way this works its great at what it does. I had to replace an older one which broke and pleased to have a better more modern version. The stainless steel finish very nice.

Had same model for 8 years, so this is the obvious replacement. Colour coated outer cover, not all stainless like old one. But the same otherwise. Great.

Very good microwave & oven.Does what it says. Drawback for me is that the door is very difficult to open. With arthritis in my hands I have to use 2 thumbs & it’s painful.
Very good microwave & oven.Does what it says. Drawback for me is that the door is very difficult to open. With arthritis in my hands I have to use 2 thumbs & it’s painful.

The only reason i’m not giving 5 stars is that i find the grill takes a bit long to cook the food.
As a microwave, it does just that. This is a large appliance and has the weight to back it up.
The convection works well for roasting and baking, although you need to get your food in quick after the pre-heat cycle. Cools very quickly … Grill works well. I love it.

I got this microwave to replace my very old Russel Hobbs, which was OK but getting tired. It is a bigger capacity and easy to operate. The door release button is a little harder to push in, that is my only criticism.

Would recommend if you are looking for a Combi Oven. Have only had a Microwave to date and don’t have an Oven. This has transformed my cooking experience. Am impressed with the quality of the build, expect it will last a few years.

Very happy with this microwave, looks great exactly as it did online. Easy to use, straight forward, not too big or too small and it has a good feeling of quality. I like the dial to set times and weights and the push button to open the door, both of which I had on my last microwave. Great that it cooks as a conventional oven and also has a grill.

I found the microwave to be just what i needed. With no cooker i found the grill + convection function extremely practical.
Wonderful, well built, and well designed and thought gadget.
The convection function on this goes right up to 240 degrees.
The microwave function buttons and dial are all easy and make proper sense.
I have had others than are rubbish compared to this one.

No handle makes microwave hard to open and the open button means you have to hold the back of the microwave as you have to have strong fingers to even push the button in,,wouldnt recomend if you are quite frail in the hand department.
Looks good,but a cheapy 35 quid microwave from ASDA works just as well if not better.

Excellent product – we have used with ease since it arrived. Arrived on time – had to change delivery address mid transit – super easy to organise.
Cant believe how quickly this arrived. I only ordered it yesterday 10th January and it came Midday today. This is a thoroughly good piece of kitchen kit from a trusty manufacturer renowned for quality. Although it’s undoubtedly made in the far east. It’s a combination microwave so will defrost, cook on microwave, reheat, grill and bake and roast. The controls are simple to understand push buttons with a centrol control dial with which you can set the time, the weight or temperature if you use the oven function. There are automatic funtions too.It couldnt be a replacement for a main oven, your dishes need to be suitable to fit on the rack, probably round. Youd struggle to cook a joint of meat or chicken in this but a fish pie, cottage pie, medium size pizza, apple crumble would all be do able from scratch or to defrost and reheat or cook something you have in the freezer. If the machine is in say a staff room its easily used to just reheat food or a ready meal on full temperature quickly and the stainless steel interior cleans with a wipe.
Its a sensible size not too big with a good sized cavity, there is a bigger model if you have enough work top space.
The microwave is beautifully made, well designed, easy to set up, easy to clean and above all it is stainless steel inside and out. It should last. The instructions are very easy and clear to follow. The Guarantee is only I year but you can extend it for 12.50.
I have bought it to replace my 3 year old white Panasonic, still working but the paintwork lining has failed and it is rusting inside and seems a little smelly. The cavity was also annoyingly too small and food packs would not defrost or heat evenly and jar on the sides. It cost me about 60 so no great loss… But not a good buy. Id steer clear of paint or enamel liners.
This is a microwave at a very good price, you could pay a lot more 200 plus but why? Maybe if space is critical, you want a built in model and you dont need a full size oven go for a luxury all singing brand but otherwise this machine would fit anyones bill. Would throughly recommend.

Russell Hobbs is the best by far. Had my old one (same model) for over 5 years. Hope this one lasts as long.
